but in easy walking distance of the lively Place De Clichy and the more central  sights of the Opera district, Place De Concorde, Champs Elysees etc.

Uber to Champs Elysee or Eiffel Tower was about €10 at the most.

The positives about the hotel are that all staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, breakfast was great and the hotel is very well located - walking distance to Metro, Champs Élysées and many other landmarks.

The neighbourhood is very nice, not as touristy as Champs- Elysees or around The latin quaters,

but its a 20 min walk to the Champs Elysée, and the walk include the Designer shopping area and t takes you past Galeries Lafayette!

Short walk to Montmartre and about 25 min walk to Champs Elysees.

Very cool hotel in a great central location of Paris, 3 stops on the metro to the champs elysee or a 30 minute walk.

So we lingered at the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and the Champs Elysee.

Added bonus was the Christmas Market on the Champs Elysees which we didn't know about.

From there the line 13 can take you to the Champs Élysées.

The hotel itself is walking distance to Champs Élysées etc.

A 10 minute walk to the Opera House and 30 minute walk to the Seine/ Champs Elysees.

The location of the hotel was great, a 5 minute walk from a metro station and just a couple of stops from the champs elysee and other sights.

Great hotel in a great location (5 mins on Metro to Champs Elysees).

Eiffel Tour, the Champs-elysees are a short metro ride away.

No coffee in the room, then charging me for a cup to go, is also a pet peeve of mine.

but it was so problem and we were not charged for it!

All my guests took a card and said they would come back there if they need to stay in Paris.

but afterwards checked hotel website directly and was the same price so wish I had booked directly on their own website (booking was made within 7 days of arrival so would have been charged by booking.com to cancel)

The only problem we had was when we checked out they nearly charged us for the breakfast buffet and using the sauna and steam room.

We returned late one evening with a bottle of wine, I requested a bottle opener, they took our bottle, we went to our room and 2 minutes later the wine arrives in an ice bucket with two glasses and a bowl of nuts and olives ( no charge ) Now that is service.

One point to note is that if the hotel order a fixed rate taxi for you that you confirm this with the taxi as we got to the airport to find we were charged more than the original quote which was a bit annoying.

We are from NYC and we totally forgot to bring the outlet converter to charge our cameras, the front desk staff had every converter you can imagine.

The minor one was I felt the breakfasts were a little ‘lightweight’ for the price guests pay within their room charge.

but upon arriving at the hotel the staff phoned them and it turned out the taxi company had a mix up and the staff arranged with them to pick us up for our departure free of charge!!

(note: they do not pre authorise a card or anything, they make you feel at home and you pay on check out - a real plus)
We stayed in the Musee D'Orsay room and it was perfect.

There is NO CHARGE to change rooms so take advantage!

but it is pretty sad when you know that is why they charge so much, for a few extra bits of plastic and wood put up to look like a monument.

Coffee: Not complimentary and we're charged for all our orders.

he said it was a waiting charge this is a disgrace such a shame really mad our stay a bad experience .

I had forgotten that the cost was not included and there was no reminder anywhere in the dining room that there was a charge.

but we were not notified someone would be in our room and we did not know there was a problem with the bath, he also used our iphone charger to charge his phone whilst he was fixing the bath.

The rooms are fun and elegantly appointed.

Its rooms are decorated with style, to give guests a taste of the Paris atmosphere.

She explained the reason behind the hotel's design, and the different rooms the hotel offer before showing us our room and how to use everything.

The hotel design, the cleaning, the staff (special thanks to the blonde girl who introduced us to the hotel, explaining the meaning of that name and the rooms, you've been super kind).

This hotel was well decorated, well run and the breakfast was excellent.

Bed extremely comfortable and plenty of pillows helps make this a comfortable hotel as well as an aesthetically pleasing one.

The concept is really different and the design amazing.

Everything is amazing at the hotel: rooms are very clean and stylish, sauna and steam room are really great for a hotel and you can have it 24/7!

The whole hotel had a wonderful ambiance and was beautiful-we loved hearing about the concept and the history.

The location was great for getting around the city with a choice of Metro stations and  plenty of cafe’s bars and restaurants nearby. Lovely little place to share some secrets too :)

There are tons of restaurants closeby plus the metro etc.

They recommended excellent French restaurants (such as the Bouillon Pigalle).

loved the bath, and the bedroom decor.the sound proofing ( room was right opposite a busy restaurant) is top class, didnot hear anything and slept really well.

Excellent location with easy access to the metro and plenty of cafes nearby.

He made some excellent dinner suggestions for us and his personality was superb!

Plenty of wonderful cafes and restaurants are in the neighborhoods surrounding Hotel Design Secret de Paris.

It's in a great location and walking distance to many sites with great restaurants nearby for dinner.

The location was within walking distance to many fine restaurants and the city center.

Was nice to have a restaurant right across the street.

I could walk to try all the best value food nearby - top ranking restaurants within 10 mins walk .

Our room was lovely, clean and serviced on a daily basis; it was great to have a jacuzzi in our en suite.

We arrived at mid-day and as expected our room wasn’t ready.

Our luggage had been delivered to the room already.

The rooms are all so unique and well thought out and feature all the amenities that you'd want!

The room was comfortable too - with blackout curtains, and a powerful shower.

My gf and I stayed in the Musee d'Orsay room and it was amazing, not to mention the Jacuzzi: unbelievable.

A little too dark with red & heavy curtains (should have paid €10 more per room night to get room Musee D'orsay which might be brightly lit).

but can not believe the reviews are so positive, it might be unique but totally impractical, we moved to a more central location, to a cheaper room without the glass toilet after one night.

Really tiny rooms for price and location..exception was the Atelier d'artiste room,
The cleanliness was not great.

but do not forget (as I did) that the cost is not included in your room fee - it is an additional 18 Euros per person, which is quite pricey if all you have is coffee and a piece of bread with cheese.

When you pay 250 there is little room for disappointment.

The wardrobe is tiny, bedside tables tiny, no view from the window, the bath shower and toilet is all in one that is tiny too and the lighting is not great, I cannot even put my make up on because it was so dim !

There were small mirrors on the ceiling which probably wouldn't be to everyone's taste.

We had to have our keys reset, because we got locked out, of our room, and we had to call to figure out the a/c, because our room was stuffy.

The main reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the air conditioning in the rooms is not good.

but not great, had to keep the drapes drawn in the afternoon to help control the heat, hotel did nothing to remedy this, they finally sent me a tower fan which just blows hot air.

The only minus would be that the airco in the bedroom was too weak.

but not cold; however we are Americans and used to air conditioning!

We showed them proof of the rate we had accepted.The air conditioning in the children's room did not work properly throughout our stay, even after the hotel said they had solved the problem.

The thermostats heat the room no matter the setting.

My daughter had no hot water the first day of our 6 day visit and a fan was brought to her room as her air conditioning was not working.

The conference facilities were not so good, poor air conditioning left the rooms unpleasantly hot.

The carpet is dingy, the air conditioning is barely functional.

Our room was too hot with a tricky thermostat, so they found us another well-appointed room right away.

Surprisingly the impressive historical background is not suffocating.

We were moved to two other rooms and the air conditioning did not work in one of the rooms, so another room had to be found.

Perhaps I needed a guide on how to work the heating/cooling unit,

We call and they bring two fans, saying you cannot put on the a/c when the system is on heat.

As many other travelers have stated the air conditioning is completely not reliable.

Needs remolding of carpets and air conditioning units in each room.

However, they did not fix the air conditioning issue despite asking 2 times.

There was also a loud noise from the air con due to general wear and tear which did keep us awake.

The hotel offers free shuttle rides back to Paris, either Opera or Champs-Elysees.

Sadly this restaurant was closed then for a conference and we were made to eat in another restaurant which felt, in view of Covid, very crowded with much coughing.

However they closed (there was no fire) and it really made a lot of noise each time a person would go through the heavy fire doors.

I had noticed that the website indicated that the restaurant would be closed for renovation and would open just a couple of weeks before our arrival, so timing was perfect.

The gate was already closed and there was a security guy in the front that was supposed to let late-arrival guests in.

Their is no bar as such except for the annex type bar that was closed ON NEW YEARS EVE.

The main Gorda Ramsay restaurant was closed, so we ate twice at the GR Veranda restaurant.

The visit started out badly as Versailles palace was closed during our visit because of a strike, we did not find out until we arrived.

On arrival day 1 - 5pm Restaurant was closed, dined on the veranda where we ordered 2 steaks @ 55$ each, they were not good.

On the day of our departure, we checked out, left our bags to head to the palace (which was closed on Monday, our only full day there).

I also had to deal with a station being closed and being re-routed.

We did not get to try Gordon Ramsey's restaurant for diner because it was closed,

Issues, they should tell us at check in that Versailles is closed on Mondays.

A Gordon Ramsay restaurant (which was closed while we were there, not sure why) But they do have a "Terrace Restaurant" and if the weather cooperates you can sit outside and look over what apparently was the pasture that Marie Antoinette had her lambs, there still there.

by the time we got there they were mopping and cleaning up the pool area and basically closed early without the front desk knowing.

It also was a bit disorganized -- with considerable confusion concerning bags, the main restaurant was closed, the bar only has "house wine" (this is France !

The pool was a little cold the 2nd day- maybe the doors need to be closed!

Overall poor experience from checkin to room maintenance and not getting the room we paid for due to unadvertised renovations that have closed two of the 5 floors.

Gorgeous gardens and tranquil environment.

Such an amazing sight for this wanting to be inspired by the charm of France outside of Paris.

Highlights include well-manicured gardens, clean classical interiors and nice rooms.

I’ve used a lot of superlatives in this review - all well earned and if anything understated .

The room was very big, very spacious, high ceilings and nicely decorated.

The room was large and elegant with the amenities one would expect.

It was nice to be greeted with old fashioned manners… we had to go to Paris for business and have chosen the Trianon Palace to be our home for a few days.

They also served a copious breakfast in the same impeccable style.

The hotel property's interior and exterior are lavish with decor and very detailed.

Nice design and very very comfortable big bed.

Location is ideal for visit to Versailles

I loved the black and white interior design of our room, very sleek.

The Waldorf oozes elegance and the attention to detail shown is just top notch.

The building itself is amazing and I loved the decor.

We really enjoyed the winter garden with its nice/cosy decoration.

I would certainly encourage you to skip and go into town and enjoy a cozy cafe and safe yourself $400 for a couple.

but amazing things to say about this property, which is befitting of the Waldorf-Astoria brand and full of charm, grace, and amazing attention to details.

Here's why:

The Pro's
- Location, it is only a couple of minutes from the side entrance to Versailles, perfect for early morning entrance or the evening firework and fountain show.

Location is great ' adjacent to the Gardens.

This hotel is located very close to the Palace of Versailles which is very convenient.

Perfect location - just next to the Versailles, it's literally a few minutes walking distance and seen from the window.

The hotel is located very close to the Palace (see my separate review on Chateau Versailles).

The hotel is literally across the street from the palace so location cannot be beat.

The location is superb for visiting the Chateau and gardens - it's a short walk to one of the gates.

Location to the Palace Gates and access to the gardens for some lovely walks after the grounds close at 1830

The hotel is beautiful & in a great location - being close to Versailles & the town.

In terms of positives, the hotel is wonderfully situated on the edge of Versailles, you could not ask for a better location.

I really enjoyed my stay with this Waldorf hotel, as it has a unique location close to the palace of Versailles.

The location is simply superb; it is right across from the side entrance to Versailles, meaning that you can enter in the morning and have the gardens totally to yourself.

The staff were wonderful and the location and grounds beautiful.

Rooms starting at €250 is not bad for the location.

The hotel is located next to the park entrance of Versailles very nice and it is a 15 min walk to the main entrance of the Chateau.

The service, the location, the staff and the food was very good.

but with a few improvements/pushes from management to elevate the guest experience this could be a great option to the central Paris five-star properties, many which frankly are not worth the exorbitant room rates they charge.

Upon confronting the newly promoted manager she laughed and hung up the phone when I asked for GM.

Since it was Sunday, and they apparently had no manager on duty or anyone with authority they could get me in touch with (at a luxury property, they had no manager on duty on a Sunday at 10am?

but after having taken away the item, there was no follow up from management where typically brand standards would dictate at least a card?

The General Manager and his Team should be proud of what they can control in terms of service which is at at least as good as any other 5 star hotel anywhere in the World and I have no doubt that when the required investment in renovating and updating parts of the hotel does happen, it will once again be as grand as it was when in first opened its doors as a Waldorf Astoria hotel.

I highly suggest management invests in some service training for their staff and learn how to be more inviting.

The supervisors / managers were very sharp and it was not beyond them to remove dirty dishes as they walked by our table.

Upon check-out I was told that a manager would contact me via email.

To become a first-class hotel, management needs to make major improvements to the restaurants.

It is clear that should you have an issue while staying you are unlikely to receive a response from the Hotel Manager or for him to care about your experience.

Despite all the lovely things about the hotel, it was let down badly, in our view, by the housekeeping and the failure of the senior management to make any kind of apology or response after the matter  was brought to their attention via email from my daughter while we were at the hotel.

I asked to speak with the F&B manager who was so rude to me.

Seriously - this hotel needs new management.

The manager tried to explain to me why this bath tub leaked. Really?

But I had to fight for that, the manager at first offered us two drinks.

To manager, please do not send me the copied response you give to everyone.

Unfortunately, the pool was shut "for maintenance" for the second summer in a row (this time in July, last year in August) -- either a poor excuse or bad management.

The General Manager wrote back personally insisting that we had to pay for a second room for our newborn twins because of the hotel's "fire code".

but it was slow and often staff had to be prompted for ordering, clearing etc.

Unfortunately the food and the service when ordering is very slow and chaotic and not on par with the expected level of such a place and at such prices.

They do not know how to serve wine, clear a table, stand around empty-handed, slow and indifferent.

Service in the terrace bar was slow and erratic and breakfast bordered on chaotic.

Unfortunately, the food was unsatisfactory and the service was slow.

The two most notable things that were off were the lifts, which are ridiculously small and slow and the bathroom, which had a couple of broken fittings and a poorly designed bath tub that took an eternity to fill.

Service was very slow and dirty plates were only removed after quite a long time.

Service in restaurants in slow, rude, and dry (but then again I gather the justification for the crowds there is the limited choices in the area perhaps?).

Take a drink and baguette as the food options are minimal and queues long, service VERY slow (seems to be a French characteristic)
9.30 tour of the Kings chambers was brilliant!

Nothing too special for a Christmas brunch..
Not to mention pretty much everyone had bookings yet they made all the guests line up for 15-20 minutes since they have really slow seating arrangements.

though is the slow service (especially at the Gallery Bar), lack of follow through from staff (I asked a question from someone at the La Verandah restaurant and she said she would check with the chef and never returned), and staff who are unable to communicate with guests unless you speak French.
