There is a major boulevard with a metro station a block or two away and many restaurants and shops.

The hotel was perfectly situated to Galeries Lafayette, Louvre, Touleries Gardens and several metro stops.

location works well for walking in all directions and the metro is on the doorstep.

but close to the metro and easy walking distance to major attractions, such as The Louvre, and fabulous restaurants.

Great location (approximately 40 mins taxi ride from CDG airport) within walking distance to very nice restaurants, cafe's, the Louvre and the Metro for everything else.

Easy to locate and one minute walk to the metro which made travelling in Paris very easy.

The location was excellent, with ample choice of metro stations, cafes, restaurants and bars.

The metro is just around the corner as well.

Nice and quiet and right next to a metro.

So many options for dinner within a five minute walk and metro lines that get you to sites all over the city in 5-20 minutes.

The staff are all friendly and welcoming, the facility and rooms beautiful, the included breakfast is delicious, and the central location (near the Metro and major streets) makes it an easy launching point from which to explore the city.

We were also within walking distance from metro stations which made it very easy to get around the city.

The hotel is well located, with a Metro station just down the street.

Positioned within easy access to to the Metro it is a perfect base to explore Paris.

They were eager to help out with any issue, including reservations and recommendations, help to use the metro, etc.

The hotel has a great location, with a Metro station very close.

although there is construction across the street, that can be noticed at times.

Across the Place, there was construction of a new multi-story building, so noise was a problem between around 8am to 5pm approx.

There was construction going on, so the small square facing the hotel was quite noisy at times.

The bedroom overlooked the opera area which is sadly under construction on the lower level

One thing it was not good is the front of the hotel(^_^;)It was middle of construction

but had wished they warned us about the construction.

The nearest metro station (Richelieu Drouot) was closed for construction,

The issue that compromised our stay was the construction.

My only complaint was that there was some hideous construction going on nearby that woke everyone up at 8 am with earth shattering crashing,

It's a rare thing, so imagine how disappointing it was on our 2 night stay in Paris, one of the few times we might have actually been able to sleep past 6:30am, to be woken up at 8am sharp by loud construction.

There was some construction going on out in front of the hotel during our visit, which made for a less than spectacular building facade and entrance,

but the sidewalk is still cut up, so I suspect there may be follow-on construction at a later date.

Would have been very quiet if not for the noise of road construction -no fault of hotel!

It spoilt breakfast having a pneumatic drill about 2 foot away from you and the noise was deafening.

I loved that they kept the original ceiling wool construction and just painted to match the interior.

There was some construction noise in the morning from an adjacent building and they play music in the hallways almost 24 hours a day it seemed.

but would instead stay somewhere more reasonable, maybe on Rue Cler.

Cons were that two of our rooms were quite small, the lift could be slow to arrive, and there was some kind of strong perfume in the lobby most days.

although rooms are a little small, the facilities and team are amazing.

The room was small and the balcony view was the wall of another building, so we didn’t use it.

I will say the rooms are a bit small by American standards,

As the floor space in the room is compromised by the main stairwell, we did find the shower room particularly small so perhaps ask for another room if space is an issue.

The fitness room is very basic - no hand weights, the room was on the small side and the air con wasn't up to much, so we wouldn't recommend staying there in the height of summer.

Our room was very small and definitely did not have a King size bed as advertised for all rooms.

but I we picked a small room since we were moving around town.

That being said, the room was very small, barely holding a queen side bed.

The Metro is only a 10-15 minutes walk away or you can get a bus so it is very handy.

It's very easy to take the bus to the Metro station to get around the city.

Disneyland is about 30mins by train and central Paris is  easy to get to by either the Metro or RER.

Easy to catch either transit to get to Paris centre.

It was convenient for using the train or metro to get into see the Paris sites.

This place is not near Paris and at first cost me 65 Euros each time we wanted to see famous landmarks in Paris until a tour guide Sid told us about the Metro and train stations.

We had the option from walking to two metro stations (about a 20min walk) or take a one-way bus if comvenient.

The metro takes 20 minutes to the Concorde square.

Metro ligne 1 is about a 20min walk through the park’s shaded path.

Metro stations are close by for quick and cheap travel into the heart of Paris.

Then easy to hop on and off metro to get around.

By means of metro 1 is possible to reach main touristic sites and attractions in Paris.

A lovely resort at the end of the Metro line with great restaurants and bars in the vicinity.

It's only about 15 minutes to the metro or the train so very easy to get in and out of the center of Paris too.

The staff was exceptional, helping us learn to use the metro, advising about best street markets, and helping us navigate transportation during the strikes.

The location is within walking distance of the Metro 1 and then 10 minutes to heart of Paris.

It is ideally situated for the underground train into Paris either by bus or about a 20 minute walk.

Had a wonderful stay with close procimity to Paris with the Metro within a few minutes walk to enjoy all that Paris has to offer.

Carpets, towels, base boards, and linens are all worn, dirty, old and need to be replaced.

The lift was falling appart holes in pannels hidden by cardboard, the hall carpet was full of holes some covered with masking tape (don't think this is part of the partial upgrade at the hotel and this may be the actual carpet).

Old stained carpet, curtains with holes, outdated furniture, cracks in tiles, showers that didn't drain, sliding closets that were hard to open, dingy white towels, fans that didn't work, and just an overall feeling of an aging hotel with no updates.

One of the main problems with our room was the lack of air conditioning, it was hot and humid during our visit which meant we had to sleep wth our window and balcony door open, this wasn't ideal as we got bitten by bugs and two of the nights during our stay we had massive storms, this meant that we either left the door open and dampened the carpet of the room and had no sound barrier from the thunder or we close the door and deal with a humid sweaty room making it difficult to sleep all night.

The carpet in one of the rooms was damaged and the kitchen flooring was damaged as well.

The carpet in the lobby needs a good cleaning, the upholstery in the lounge needs doing as well.

The halls could  use a bit more light and  the carpets were a bit worn.

The carpet was a bit dingy and the bathroom needed some cosmetic repair,

The decor is generally a bit tired and entrance hallway carpet had a nasty stain.

There have been exterior and carpet improvements in the hallways since our last stay.

Two twin beds shoved together, had to ask for toilet paper because it was never replenished, fridge smelled, stained carpets, a view of a rooftop and constant dripping outside our window as well as a hazard in the bathroom with a broken towel drying rack with live wires sticking out.

the cleaning lady put in the dishwasher a mug that I bought from Disneyland and that wasnt machine washable, and when I told the reception they told me they would find a solution.

Despite being refurbished there were some stains on the hall carpet and the curtains in the bedroom and living room.

The only thing that took away from an otherwise great makeover was the carpet.

Stains on the carpet, holes in the walls, black dust along the baseboards and the most disgusting, filthy sofa.

On a less positive note the beds were a bit too hard and that carpet in the corridors, my god, just change it please it is not doing you guys any favour.

I agree with another reviewer that the property could use a bit of painting and the carpet in the hallways replaced.

The bad - only 1 shower worked, 1 of the 3 bedroom heaters worked, mold in bathrooms, dirty carpet with some areas constantly damp, refrigerator door didn't close plus a slew of messy 'repairs', sporadic wifi that you have to pay for, lumpy beds.

Advice - avoid room 2036 if you don't smoke.

however if you are non smokers then you need a table right at the back inside.

The only disappointing aspects were the lack of ventilation in the water closet and a persistent sulphuric smell coming from the shower drain.

even though the flat was immaculate, there seems to be a smell from the drains that is a bit off putting.

The place is not air conditioned, and the bathroom in the master bedroom had some bad sewer gas occasionally.

Unfortunately, the room still had a faint smell of cigarette smoke and possibly sewer lines.

Paris is a short metro ride away and Vincennes is a small suburb that maintains a small town feel.The only small catch was here was a bad smell in the shower and the closet with the hot water tank that dissipated in the shower after we ran the hot water for a  while and used Febreeze in the closet.

The ashtray outside was full of cigarette stubs, not been emptied, and our veiw over the balconies below was one of weeds in the boxes.

The carpeted flooring was torn in many places with disgusting spills all over it.

Being short-sighted also helped not noticing the mold in the corners of the bathroom. But I also made a special effort not to look too closely.)

Filthy dirty streets graffiti and the area around the Sacre Coeur looks like a refugee camp and so many pickpockets.

I liked being away from the City because the noise and pollution (especially the cigarette smoke and car exhaust) can be unbearable there.

Hotel fabulous location close to the    Eiffel Tower and the toot toot bus stop great for touring Paris.

When we did the hop on hop off bus stop 8 & 9 is here and lastly we could walk to our river cruise.

It was an easy walk to the ET as well as to the hop on / off bus.

although very close to the Eiffel Tower, one would probably have to use metro, or cab to access landmarks in Central Paris.

Walking distance to hop on hop off bus and lots of great restaurants.

The location on Rive Gauche is also good: You are just a few steps from the Eiffel Tower, the river La Seine as well as from public transportation: le RER (the commuter train that can take you all the way to the castle Versailles) and le Metro (the subway).

The Eiffel Tower is a short walk away and there is a hop on hop off bus stop at the Tower which is convenient.

Secondly, the typical tourist areas are all a bus ride or subway ride away - ie.

Great view from our room; excellent service; friendly staff; good breakfast; can see Eiffel Tower lights from room; walking distance from river and metro; good dining options close walking distance.

It is a few minutes walk from Bir-Hakeim Metro station and a five minute walk fro the Champ de Mars and the Tower itself.

but also only a couple of blocks to the RER C train to Versailles or Musee d'Orsay, and the #6 Metro line to the Arc de Triomphe/Champs-Elysee.

Excellent hotel, great location for getting around as it is very close to the metro and also lots to do close by.

He told us how to work the metro and get from place to place, he was extremely kind and helpful and gave us the best options for food (within a great budget).

The location is perfect a step from the eifel tower and bir hakeim station metro.

The location was great as it is a very short walk to the Eiffel Tower and near the metro.

The area is close to the metro, and a half dozen or so restaurants are located within walking distance.

The metro is a short walk to Champs Elysee which takes you over the Seine.

It is a short walk to the metro station and is very central to get around.

One night the room door got jammed and the keycard didn't work and the hotel staff acted as if we didn't know how to use the card.

They charge deposit and you will have to communicate with differnet group of teams by email to get it back.

He says that it was just a mistake and the card wasn’t meant for us.

Just imagine they charge for water @6-8 euros for bottle to be provided in the room through housekeeping and room service. Pathetic!

ALSO, before I forget, I was charged an excess of $900 on my credit card despite only having and being charged for about $200 in incidentals.

It’s unacceptable that they can’t provide commercial invoice and we paid almost 2000€

Housekeeping unplugged my travel power-board for charging my devices and removed the plug from the wall which was very annoying.

We finally were relieved that the issue was settled at check-out and we didn't incur any additional room charges.

but when I had asked for some decorations in the room to surprise my wife, they charged me 60 Euros for some flowers, balloons and macaroons.

but I don't expect this at a hotel charging close to $500 per night.

We booked a 2 night stay at the hotel so everything was pre-paid before we arrived, when we came to check in they wanted €906 as a deposit for the room so I had to give them my bank card to take this payment.

And everything wrapped up with us being charged twice for the stay.

They charged the entire amount of the stay (over $1,000) on the credit card right away.

I still don’t know whether that is an Amex issue or a hotel one,

We gave the hotel a second chance and stayed with them on our last night in Paris, they promised to resolve everything that was wrong by way of a credit with ACCOR or discount across the entire accommodation,

Only real negatives where I had to call for towels twice and got charged $5 to rent an ice bucket.

However, nearly 2 months after my stay my Visa card was suddenly charged again for €600.00.

You pay over $600 in one night hotel and there is no  security in the lobby.

but quite expensive and the breakfast was overcrowded with people could not move.

the only negative was the slightly confusing room rate and bill.

Secondly, we asked for a wine opener and they said we either take our bottle down to the bar to open, or we pay guest services for one. Imagine!

(However be careful bc they do have lots of hidden fees, for mediocre food when you receive your check.)

The amount did total the security deposit or the cost of the overall stay.

I did feel it was overpriced for what you get, cereal, fruit, eggs, different teas, water.

At  there rates it absolutely was not the experience I was expecting.

but there is little attention paid to the guest experience.

Only marking down a star for the dinner at the restaurant on the first night, the food was below average and very expensive.

but I think a tad overpriced for the overall quality of our room.

Husband booked this as an anniversary surprise, given the price we were extremely disappointed.

They are a  tourist trap complete rip off.

The rooms are not cheap and are around 600 Euro per night or AUD 1,000 which did not include breakfast.

We strongly complained, and finally they said we'd get rooms as soon as they were available, and they 'graciously' allowed us to eat breakfast - which we had already paid for anyway with our reservation!

The hotel just seems to be a commercial money, making building with no sympathy for tourists, putting their time in money into affording their expensive rooms.

You can eat right on Rue Cler or on one of the other streets in the area.

It is within walking distance of the Rue Cler which is a wonderful area to explore.

The location of this hotel is also amazing and the metro isn’t needed to get to a lot of great places.

Lovely bathroom too and a powerful, hot, shower 

Lots of restaurants nearby and right across the road from the metro.

The neighbourhood seemed very safe with 2-3 cafes and a metro station within a one to two minute walk.

Centrally located in the 7th arrondissement, and near the metro made moving around Paris easy.

Great location right near a wonderful metro stop that makes commuting around Paris an absolute breeze!

Great location: near the metro and bus station.

Loved being so close to the tower, easy access to Metro and dining on Rue Cler, as well as other restaurants.

I highly recommend this hotel if you want to be near the Eiffel Tower and close to everything by taxi or metro.

Hotel La Comtesse was located near Ecole Militaire metro station and had a taxi stand across the street from it, making their location easily accessible.

It was close to the metro and walking distance to many restaurants.

Location is very good - close to the Eiffel Tower, Metro stops, good restaurants.

Other hotel staff also provided very easy instructions for nearby Metro to Moulin Rouge where we pre purchased  show tickets ahead of time.

The location is near to Metro and bus station so if you want to travel from the hotel it is very simple!

A subway (metro) station is around the corner, in the heart of many cafes and bistros.

Incredibly nice young lady checked us in, provided directions to walk to Rue Cler full of amazing local restaurants, bakeries, and shops.

Also, a 5 min walk to Rue Cler Market street with a ton of restaurants and boulangeries which we would recommend stopping by and exploring.

The Area surrounding the Hotel is recommended, especially the Rue Cler.

The location of the hotel is near several bus lines, a metro stop, minutes walk to ET and Rue Cler.

The hotel itself is perfectly located in a quiet neighbourhood 2 mins round the corner from the nearest metro station, making it convenient to explore the rest of Paris, and is a few minutes walk from the famous Rue Cler which has plenty shops, cafes, patisseries and restaurants.

The hotel is centrally located and close to major areas like the Eiffel Tower, the Army Museum/ Napoleon's Tomb,  the Rodin Museum, Park Champ de Mars and Rue Cler.

The hotel is located in a great area convenient to sites like the Eiffel Tower, Rue Cler, the Army Museum, Napoleon’s Tomb, and the Rodin Museum.

Located in the wonderful Rue Cler neighborhood and close to the metro.

If you are staying at this hotel, take a walk to Rue Cler (2 min walk), pedestrian street with lots to see, and lots of fresh foods, bread, chocolates etc.

Close to Rue Cler, Relias, Champ De Mars, Le Bourdannais.

Once in your life, stay there and get a frontal Eiffel Tower View, eat on La Rue Cler and savor an amazing breakfast looking out at the Eiffel Tower!

It's  also close to Rue Cler,  a pedestrian street with cafes, restaurants & shops that the locals frequent.

Bus stop, metro and  Rue Cler Market were just a few walks from the Hotel, or even we could walk to Champ de mars to get closer to the Eiffel Tower.

Rue Cler is just a couple of blocks over, which is where we went for breakfast most mornings at Cafe Central.
