And after a day wandering the city they always welcomed you back with warm greetings.As others have said they had the best amenities we have ever seen.

There is free water and many amenities in the bathroom.

The Japanese think of everything so you could travel here without bringing any toiletries - even hairbrushes and straighteners are provided.

The large windows in the room have a nice view of the beautiful night view, and the granite taste of the washroom is also luxurious.The rooms themselves are also beautiful and modern for their age.

Our room was clean and quiet, with a minibar, coffee maker, and L'Occitane bath products.

They had so many in room amenities - Nespresso, pajamas, robes, toiletries, and fridge.

Rooms are lovely with large baths, heated mirrors.

Hotel room was large and very comfortable with many amenities provided.

We could not fault this hotel at all.From them arranging the airport transfer to checking in, all seamless.The hotel room on the executive floor (34) was very good and large with a bathroom that you don’t want to leave.

The bathroom was wonderful, the shower had a great water pressure.The choice at breakfast I found very disappointing for a 5-star hotel.

Our room was pretty modern and bathroom was especially spacious.

Great location 5 minutes from Shibuya station, the largest rooms I have seen in the city, with plenty of space for a large bathroom with tub and shower, two queen beds and a sitting area.

Our amenities are replenished our towels all replaced - even when it’s hanged to dry, it’s so clean it looks like a brand new room every day!

It also included everything we needed for our stay - from bath salts, hair tongs and toothbrushes to pyjamas, room freshener, and tea/coffee facilities.

I can’t say enough about the amenities!

They have a large enclosed space within it for a tub plus a separate shower, wonderful water pressure and very hot water (I despise hotels where they don't have very hot water available for showering and bathing).

The room is nice and you have very good view of the city.

though the hotel is centrally located, it is set back enough that it feels calm and relaxing once you return.Our room was spacious, very clean and had amazing views over the city.

Pros: good sized room, with great views out over the city.

Room and bathroom offers a superb view over the city skyline.

Staff were all very friendly and welcoming, rooms were pretty spacjous for Japan, very clean and had amazing views of the city.

It gives you access to the lounge on floor 35 where you can have a lovely buffet style breakfast ( smoked salmon included) looking out with marvellous views of the city and Mount Fuji.

But Coucagno (French) has a lovely view of the city with great food, and the Sichuan is nice change of pace if you're staying in the city for more than a few days.

Cerulean is a great hotel with an awesome view of the city.

We had corner room on 34th floor with amazing view of the city.

We had a beautiful city view, and a sofa to sit and enjoy it.

The rooms all have beautiful views of the city (ask for a room with a high floor) and are extremely clean and spacious.

The view of the city from our room was awesome and we even had an incredible view of the city below us from the bathroom right over the bath which was very cool!

With big literally walk in cabinet, bathroom was spacious as well with Bath tub that can look out at the city skyline.

We had a decent size room on the executive level with great city views.

Book using the Concorde Hotels website and get great rates.

Hint:  try booking through Concorde Hotels website (corporate owner of this property) for the best deal.

The representative I spoke to insisted I adhere to there inability to change anything or help Amex either.This means I’ll likely have to cancel my entire reservation with the Cerulean Tower and find a replacement with no time because of how inconsiderate they are with their own booking policy.

Just something to be mindful of as we stayed six nights and they put $3200 + $500 upfront on my card.

however I ordered a single shot espresso got charged Yen 1579.00 which is equivalent to approx. USD10.00.

Ridiculous charge for the usage of the swimming pool.

Also, any hotel that still charges to use the pool plus charges over $100 a night for a cot isn't worth it.

They would need your credit card to reserve; some busy restaurants would charge you for no show or late cancellation.

They charge a cover charge for non guests so tried to keep those tables free bit cheeky.

Considering a cover charge and just wanting to have a drink while enjoying the view, it’s a bit frustrating considering the price of the hotel.

Purchase a Suica card at the airport and load up Suica card, cost is about JPY 580 to get to the hotel.

but there would be a charge for them to call.

Little did we know that on our bill we would be charged a ridiculous amount for these nuts (£6-7 GBP).

We booked a room for 3 persons and we were a bit disappointed because the room was quite tight for the price of a 3 bedroom that they charged us for.

There are only 2 shirt hangers in the closet, i suppose it's a hint to leave

Gym is small and they have the gall to charge 2200 yen per visit

I certainly wouldn't stay here if i was on holiday and paying myself

but very willing to help with any issues that arose (not that I, myself, experienced any true issues during my stay) 

As one note if, like myself, you only have a debit card make sure you bring cash to pay for your room if you have not already done as such and be prepared to pay for any extra costs (mini bar, laundry etc) when they arise as a 'tab' can only be authorised with a  credit card.

The problem with this scenario is that many brand new chip cards (like mine) are not embossed.

but you can forget about that if you come along to the Cerulean- let’s just say, boot camp is more their style, from the check in staff to the waiters,  to the Bar upstairs( with its exorbitant cover charge - even for guests!!

This had the unfortunate result of locking my card down for the rest of the stay,

Then we find out not only there was a charge,

(Beware the gaijin tax they charge you there.

It should also be noted that there may be a fee charge for using the sports facility if you are not staying at the executive floor.

We stayed on the upper executive floors, the room was spacious, wonderful view, plenty of storage and closet space, and the beds are so comfortable.

The best part of this hotel was the wonderful staff, especially Zacca on the Executive floor - she made sure our stay was perfect!

This, along with the breakfast and laundry vouchers were worth booking on the executive level.

We stayed in a Cnr suite on the executive level for 6 nights and absolutely loved this hotel; If you can afford it, it is worth paying extra to stay on the executive level, the lounge was amazing, great food, great drinks all the staff were friendly, attentive, obliging and spoke excellent English.

The staff provides quality service and follows through to perfection.We selected the Executive Level for our 5-night stay, our room was located on the 33rd floor.

The Corner King on the executive floor was very spacious, spotlessly clean and offered a clear view of the sea of lights of the city and the Tokyo Tower.

Executive level perks were nice.. My fiance and I stayed here for nine days on a vacation to Tokyo.

We stayed in a room on an executive floor for access to the executive lounge for breakfast in the a.m. and a light dinner/hors d’oeuvres/drinks in the evening.

We stayed on the Executive floor, as a couple we enjoyed the perks, and the peace and quiet.

We chose a room on the executive floor that was more of a suite than a room as it contained a super king size bed, a sofa, two chairs, two tables, a footstool and a large tv.

We stayed on the executive floor, which gave us access to the lounge for breakfast (very convenient) and later in the day for refreshments.

If you're staying on the executive floors, the Western-style breakfast and the afternoon happy hour on the 35th floor are amazing.

We had booked an Executive Room so check in was done on the Executive Floor.

The extra cost of the Executive floor was more than made up by the excellent breakfast, and the free drink happy hour at the end of the day in the exclusive lounge.

Certain staff members were friendly and had some nice perks if you're staying in one of the executive floors, like daily breakfast or happy hour in the private lounge with view.

We were also ecstatic when we got a complimentary upgrade to the executive level.

We thought it was worthwhile to choose a room at the executive level, we sincerely enjoyed staying here.

but I couldn't get in by 3 p.m., so I had to wait about 15 minutes.We dined in the lounge while we waited, but it cost 2,500 yen for a forehand sandwich (coffee didn't cost me a refill)。 The view out of the lounge, the sunlight dazzling during the day, the blinds are adjusted down so you can't see much.

It would have been better if they had a duvet option as in less expensive hotels this is an available option.

Con: payment and a room fee is held on your card from checkin.

The breakfast buffet was a tiny bit pricey

Apparently if you don't need it, you can tell the front desk and it only costs a bill.

It is a 4,100 yen for breakfast I would not even pay 1,500 yen normally.

Room service food was average and quite expensive,

They refused to cancel the first night and said we'd incur the cost as a cancellation fee.

I paid over $900 with tax per night to get 2 basic rooms.

Only downside is that everything you can buy is hilariously expensive.

Check-in was painless, amazing views from the room, everything exactly as I’d hoped from seeing it online.

Rooms were a good size (for Tokyo), staff were exceptionally helpful and the facilities were of a high standard.

Our room was equipped with everything you need including L'Occitane products and even pyjamas.

Our room had a fridge stocked with soft drinks and beers which were included in the room rate (the mini-bar was extra).

I enjoyed a luxurious meal in my hotel room with a night view.We had a Japanese meal for breakfast.

The fitness area is small.By Tokyo standards, my room was relatively large with ample space.

The view from my room was incredible even I could see both Mount Fuji and Tokyo Tower.

although the views from our room were already pretty fantastic (including Tokyo Tower).

Apart from the gorgeous room and breathtaking views, the staff and the service is just without comparison! Our bed is made with crisp clean linen (everything including the doona cover!)

The reception team were exceptionally polite and professional, quickly handling queries when required.Our room was the ideal size, and offered a beautiful view of Mount Fuji.

Only a small window, mostly filled with AC unit, so if you don't like to feel closed in, a single room is not for you.

Minuses: The room was hot so I turned on the air conditioning unit which was loud and cycled on and off - it almost sounded like it was moaning.

No breakfast, shared bathrooms, rain on the radiator outside makes the room really noisy.

The air con was noisy so think this could be issue in high summer.

On the first night the AC was acting up making strange dripping sounds,

The heater was so rubbish in -10 conditions and there was no quilt only a sheet and a very thin blanket, the bed dipped in the middle too making it uncomfortable for 2 people to sleep in, bathroom was nice,overall a very average stay

Only thing is that in the winter you may want to run the ac to make it comfortable,  this is an old building so the heat pumps and radiatot clanks a little

The heating was a bit annoying in December, we had to open the windows because it was too hot, no thermostat in rooms.

The most negative points about the room was that it didn't have a basic kettle and also it suffered very loud clanging pipes intermittantly, including in the night, which i presume was the heating system - it did wake me up a lot which wasn't ideal when i struggled with jetlag throughout the stay,

The TV was a little small and the window air conditioner was a little loud,

My only complaint was the air conditioning, very loud so couldn't leave it on when I was in the room.

but the air conditioner is a window type prone to noise, so I cool the room then turn it off before going to bed or leave the TV on to muffle the thrum.

It is really not expensive regarding all this points, the only negative issue is the aircon that seems to be very noisy

I ended up sleeping without the aircon which was stuffy in a July summer-night.

The rooms were quite warm, even in October, and the air conditioning was noisy- pretty sure I caught a cold from having to sleep with the window open as the temperature dropped during the night.

The decor is old fashioned and a bit tired and the air con was noisy and not very effective.

but would look for other options first – in addition to the room size and shared bathrooms, our bed was terribly creaky and we had asked staff to look at a radiator issue but they never came.

Also be aware that there is no fan in the bathroom; in the one I was in there was just a small, secure window, so you won't be lingering in there.

Although the bathrooms were shared they were very clean and I had no issues, especially as there was a sink in the room.

We had a room with a shared bathroom, this never caused us any issues, bathroom was always clean and available, could ask for no more.

The bathrooms are for single person occupancy and are extremely clean (I would suggest you purchase beach slippers so that you’re feet aren’t coming in direct contact with the tub, as others are also showering there) ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

The shared bathroom was spotless and because only shared with a couple of other rooms, I think the guests also had a vested interest to keep it nice and clean.

For a budget hotel where we got the private bathroom, this is definitely thumbs up.

Shared bathrooms are clean and comfortable, no waiting.

Managers have done a wonderful job maintaining the historical architecture and interior design so you feel you're getting a real old New York experience, with all the comforts of wi-fi, cable, and spotless bathrooms.

It's perfectly fine and the shared toilets on a floor are two.

From the friendly check in to the room with private bathroom I had on the 6th floor to the cleanliness of the hotel and my room all I have to say are good things!

There was adequate lighting around a little sink to apply makeup, the bath products smelled nice enough and there was a hairdryer.

We had a window in the bedroom and bathroom which was nice for some fresh air (even in January) It was like going back in time

We had a room with a private bathroom, the room was clean and larger than most for the price range.

Our room was big enough for us we had a large bed each and a nice sized bathroom.

Staff was also really good at cleaning restrooms regularly and each room had a sink as well.

But both my room and the baths were spotless and the room is comfortable enough.

The bathroom was always kept extremely clean and in working order at all times.

Luckily, we were next door to the shared bathroom ( 2 between the whole floor) which was always clean.

Hotel 31 likes to advertise it has "all the amenities of a first class hotel." Well.

Very friendly team, clean, good service and excellent location.

Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Clean place with a convenient location - we had no issues - met our needs very well.

Best value attractions: the Staten Island Ferry with its view of the Statue of Liberty, ( and its free), Intrepid, which is a retired WW2 aircraft carrier with a collection of planes including a Concorde.

The Hotel 31 is conveniently located on New York s east side.

Safe, convenient location, and basically a clean, no-frills hotel.

We recently stayed at Hotel 31 in NYC, just 10 blocks south of Grand Central Station and 1-1/2 blocks from the 33rd St #6 subway stop.

I think the nearest subway is the 33rd Street station a couple of blocks away.

This time I did quite a lot of shopping and the front-desk was very helpful with accepting deliveries for me and assisting me to get my 6 boxes to the post-office 3 blocks away.

The location is good - a quieter, more residential street - and is two blocks from a subway station.

Stayed 2 nights 2 blocks from the number 6 33rd and park 1 stop from grand central to take the shuttle to times square the rooms were clean , got a great rate on trip advisor 59.00 a night plus tax for 2 nights so book online that thing they advertise beat online rate by 15% not true good location and clean the shared bath too would recommend

Fairly decent location, only a few blocks from the Empire State Building and a 20min wall from Times Square / rockerfeller area.

The location is convenient for just about anything in Manhatten.

We spent all day exploring the city, the location is convenient to lots of attractions.

We were a block away from the subway and just a few minutes walk from the Empire State Building.

Desk staff were extremely polite and helpful with information; other staff very polite. One block to the subway station (what an adventure!)

but Clean and Accented with lots of timber.The Staff were friendly and helpful.There are restaurants and convenience store one block away.

Only a short walk to Herald Square where you will find Macys and only another 8 blocks from there is Time Square.

Old style hotel in excellent location, just a few blocks from Empire state building.

front staff very friendly and helpful, great location across from cosi, pain quotidien up Park a few blocks.

Anything more and this might not be for you. The location is good: 10 minutes from Madison Square Gardens, lots of great sights in walking distance, and two blocks from a subway stop (though you might have to change lines to get most places.)

Good selection of dining nearby (A bit more selection if you walk the extra block over to 3rd Ave.).

The building itself is old and elevator kind creepy,

The elevator is tiny ..old style like the ones we had while staying in Paris.
