Noisy currently (spring 2022) as hotel being constructed next door..

It's pretty quiet considering it's proximity to everything, other than construction going on next door on one side (progress) & the whine of a "Cooler" on the roof of a building on the other side of the hotel.

Noise everywhere: constant loud air conditioners throughout the complex, noisy garbage disposal nearby our room, construction next door.

If you want to sleep late, forget it as the construction next door starts promptly at 7 AM.

This hotel has a major construction site next door.

but you had to open both doors to open the refrigerator.

We got very little sleep due to the absurdly loud music/thumping from the bar next door (it was at its worst from 1 to 2am).

This hotel needs to invest in soundproofing the walls, doors and windows at a minimum.

Stay here if you're looking for convenience..   Avoid connecting rooms since you can hear the people next door.

He stood there with the door open for about 30 seconds.

Wooden floor was a little warped and bathroom door had some water damage.

It started with the person pulling on the door and then violently rattling it back and forth.

It's more a motel style, with doors to exterior hallway instead of interior hallway.

Instead, I was given a room on a corner (two sides for noise) and was kept awake most of the night by raucous guests in the outdoor social area which was RIGHT OUTSIDE my room door.

We did have a connecting door (closed and locked) which may have contributed to the problem,

If you're in a room with an adjoining door to another room, you can hear noise in the other room perfectly.

As some of the others have said, with outside doors, guests coming and going, it can be a little noisy.

Everything was going fine until another guest tried to enter our room and had it not been for the latch on the door.

It seems like the hotel is built so that half the rooms have doors and windows that face this area.

The bathroom is a little tight, and incredibly warm, so shower with the door open.

Positive side first: Great Rooms comfy and location really good to get around Palm Springs

I had a poolside room, super nice, not noisy at ll, the bed was once of the most comfortable I have ever been in, the location was very convenient , the grounds were beautiful .

Location, rooms, breakfast etc are still good -

Location is perfect for restaurants and Villagefest.

Visited Palm Springs for the first time, the hotel was in a perfect location and was able to walk around town for dinner and also to see some great shops.

The famous Las Brisas hotel, a Palm Springs staple for decades, still provides lovely and comfortable accommodations, in a location that’s unbeatable.

The hotel's location was one of the main reasons we chose it.

Great location, you can walk to most of the shops and restaurants.

There are so many things within walking distance, the location is very convenient.

You can’t beat the location, it’s a 5 min walk to Palm Canyon Drive where the restaurant are and shops.

Perfect location for walking around town and to most restaurants.

We planned a family trip and we’re looking for a central location as a home base to explore the area.

If it was all about "location" it would be tops,

Well maintained, clean, and in a great, walkable location - close to restaurants, bars, shopping.

They started getting drunk around noon and made such a big noise until the evening, that most of the other guests avoided the pool.

Only had one problem this last trip AC was very loud.

Children loudly running back and forth in the room above us.

but the jets didn't do much for massaging.

Despite specifically requesting a quiet room, the drilling/hammering was quite loud in the room at 7 am and all day.

We are not that noise sensitive and the noise from the building in the morning was not bad.

We had a noisy room due to a nearby night club, which then hotel cannot control,

Room was dated and noisy air conditioner.

Sat outside the room just to relax and also just to listen, I like to see if you can hear noise and it was crazy quiet to be honest.

It was a high traffic area and there is little noise insulation.

Bar is a little pricey and we had an adjoining room with some noisy neighbors.

(Make sure to avoid staying in the B building rooms facing the nightclub noise on the north side of the hotel. There is late night noise on that side and it would not be a restful evening.)

I had seen noise mentioned once or twice in reviews so had explicitly asked on three separate occasions for a quiet room,

Request a room not facing the bars; we did experience noise and were immediately moved to a quieter room upon request.

with good prices, super tasting snacks, Margaritas.

The patio area tables and lights are a great place to have dinner.

Beautiful, well maintained hotel with friendly, helpful staff, one block from downtown strip of restaurants and shops.

I appreciated they had a lobby bar and gazebo bar (for those of us who enjoy a cocktail or two)!

It is one block away from the main downtown and walkable to great restaurants; easy drive to Joshua Tree and other attractions.

It is within walking distance to so many restaurants and shops, and only 4 miles to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.

Positives: It's close to the main strip of PS, as well as the Gay area for shopping, restaurants & bars.

We ate breakfast outside everyday and loved it.

They have excellent service, the hotel and the rooms are very clean, the hot breakfast is delicious, they make the best piña coladas at the pool bar, and the price is very reasonable!

One can walk EVERYWHERE, free parking, wonderful, clean, comfy rooms, two bars, great hot breakfast, incredible staff!

They told me to book it and to show my AAA card upon check in for the 10% discount rate.

We did have some trouble with the door, when we first got the room key card the door opened fine

I called American Express to try and get the charge refunded.

Two hours later my credit card company contacted me saying there we suspicious charges on my card.

They refused to refund our money and charged us for our stay that never happened.

We added another 4 days because Joshua Tree National Park was closed and we were then charged double the rate of the first 4 days!

My only complaint is that the bartender charged us full price during happy hour.

We stayed one night or they were going to charge us anyways for 1 night minimum then for the same price went to Best Western Las Brisas. Why?

There was something wrong with our door and the card key would not work,

Lots of business-class hotels seem to charge for that nowadays.

We were billed $50 for having a dog we never had --- we have not owned a dog since 2000.

Minor inconvenience with key card system which works sporadically.

They had us go back into the room and pack - in the smoke of mysterious origin, without help - and put us in another room on the far side of the motel, and gave us key cards to it that didn't work. My request for compensation was totally rebuffed since "you got another room."

Although there is a deadbolt, it was connected to the electronic key card entry.

The Caliente Tropics misbilled the entire three-night stay to her credit card, when we had explicitly, and kindly, stated we wanted to split the room charges.

4) They make you take your pool towels to the desk rather than let you leave them in your room upon check out or they will charge you.

but be careful: Caliente Tropics charged me a $300 dollar fine for smoking in the hotel room.

The establishment had already charged my card for the room.

Location is about 30 mins walk from the centre or 5 mins by car.

We were happy with many aspects of our stay; nice location, lush clean grounds, cool pool area with wooden tropical tiki decor and polite & helpful staff.

Cute, kitschy hotel in a really good location.

but A/C located away from bed which made it easier to sleep.

However, stayed 2 nights, place was very clean, staff friendly, great location- so close to everything.

The location of this motel is fab - sitting in the heart of gorgeous Palm Springs, the tiki style of this original place is awesome.

Location is great since it’s a five minute drive to downtown with easy access to the other desert cities.

Centrally located got to my convention on time and still had time to enjoy the pool back at hotel, they are open till midnight.

The location was great and the entire laid back vibe of the space was truly what we were looking for.

Also, the phone in our room did NOT work so we used our cells to call the front desk when we had questions.

We called several times afterwards and were given the run around and most of the time they never answered the phone.

We overheard the receptionist speaking to the manager on the phone in Spanish, not realizing that we were fluent.

Not a good experience when you have to call the police to your hotel room because management is very unconcerned with your security while a guest.

I asked for a refund and the reception threatened me that if I will write bad review she is not going to refund me and will call the police on me.

By then we were home and our emails and phone calls to the manager were ignored.

($200m/l) Manager not returning call- no answer at front desk. SHADY!

Soo, if you decide you are interested in going to Caliente Tropics, call the hotel directly and ask about the pool temperature.

She helped locate a cell phone I left in a taxi on arrival to the hotel, assured me everything would work out and promptly notified me once the phone was returned.

I called several times after trying to talk with management about our disappointing time at check out, when we were told that the manager would call us back.

Never again - Caliente NOTrics is what we call it now. Ew

I asked to talk to a manager and he said there was no manager available and to call back another time.

even though our room wasn't made up yet the woman who checked us in took my cell number and called us about an hour later when our room was ready.

He took down the details again and my name and number and said that he would look into it and call me back very soon.

Fine, if the phone WORKED, which it didn't.

Why the call themself resort, I have no idea.

I saw numerous people using cell phone light to see the room number and find where to put the key and it was a bit difficult to see where you were walking and who might be coming at you.

It started working again after I had the front desk call a remote repairman.

The room was on the opposite side of the pool. Quiet.

The other guests using the pool were all thanking me.

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean,we had a good time at the pool.

As hot as it was, we spent a lot of time in the pool!

but whatever, the jacuzzi was nice and the pool was delightful.

The one benefit of the pool area being unmanned is that

this dog friendly property has good amenities (parking, on site drinks and food) and a nice amount of space at the pool area.

I did not use the whirlpool or the pool as both needed to be cleaned.

The restaurant/bar is attached to the pool area.

It’s chilled out and has great facilities including a lovely pool area with views over the mountains.

Pros: staff, shower water pressure, bar and pool.

Great pool and quite busy on the weekends.

The Reef restaurant that is attached to the pool area is a fun place with great food.

Had a couple drinks at the bar- fine, pool was nice and heated.

Eat at the reef bar once, food was decent and plenty, I had the tuna sandwich, which was large for the day.

but a cocktail or 2 deep we have been able to manage it.

Ate at Sanchos once and the flautas and service were quite good.

Palm Greens and Native Foods were our both incredible with tons of choices for vegans and otherwise.

I had dinner and brunch there, and both were very nice.

Messy and inattentive service in the restaurant/bar (The Reef) that takes away from the fun atmosphere and good food and drink.

I had the coconut shrimp & it was amazing.

Selection of burgers, salads, and chicken.

Richie who works in reef, the poolside restaurant looked after us like royalty.

The other restaurant on property is Greek and we did not try it.

Close to restaurants, downtown shopping and museums.

Everyone shared their local knowledge and good spots for food or day trips.

I was able to enjoy the great cocktails and we loved the Tiki vibe throughout!

Myself and my husband really enjoyed the Caliente Tropics, the food at both restaurants was very good.

The mountains, the sun, pool, food, drinks, people, everything was sooooooo amazing.

The reef restaurant tiki bar is awesome, they bring your drinks to you by the pool!

Cirenia at front desk told us about the pool being heated, drinks & food being served there as well.

Room was very clean upon arrival and serviced every day.

The room was cleaned every day and for the price in the area it was brilliant.

In addition, the rooms were kept tidy and there were great amenities.

From the warm welcome from Cirenia at the front desk to the woman who brought me my cocktail poolside to the staff who kept my room spotless.

Staff is friendly and professional, the rooms are clean and even have  a small refrigerator.

Room was very clean and the beds were super comfy.

The rooms were clean enough ,just a very old squeaky mattress that needed to be replaced.

Fantastic place to stay, wish we could of stayed longer, Lorraine on reception was super helpful and did everything she could to make our stay as comfortable as could be, room was clean and a good size, comfortable beds, great poolside restaurant, superb cocktails too!

Tidy room with powerful A/C, included mini fridge and a comfortable bed.

The toilet didn’t drain well either and made awful noises after flushing.

The only problem with the place, the room is very old fashion, and smells old .

The other half were far worse- they bought gravity chairs, and they're all stained with water, sweat, sunscreen and who knows what else. Icky.

The carpet in Room 202 is disgusting, large dark stains and very dirty.

The room itself was so old that the room smell was terrible.

but still needed a wipe down (which I did with Clorox wipes).
