The bed was a little squeaky, shower head was in the ceiling and the tv didn’t articulate well.

Fortunately we found a fan in the closet that we put in the window to pull in cool, greasy air.

One disappointment was lack of air conditioning.

check batteries in the thermostats. .the ones in our room were dead, 

but the bathroom is closed off from that and there is no separate heater or heat lamp in the bathroom.

Poorly fitted shower curtain caused water leaking in bathroom.

Given there's no AC you have to leave the windows open so you get a LOT of noise in the room.

but I was given a room underneath an upstairs unit and it was noisy.

No hum (from heater, fan, etc), nor anyone from outside congregating/driving in & out/no suitcase-rollers rattling nor footsteps (there's no one above! ), no staircases etc, like some other places.  )

The first place heater the room enough without using the heater.

The Bad:  loud drip noises from outside when it rains making it hard to sleep (unit 116).

Our room had a fireplace and a ceiling fan.

20 or so rooms, cottage style units that had a very cozy feel like you might be staying in a upscale small cabin.

The room is fully equipped with t.v.,  refrigerator, manual heater, microwave, hairdryer, coffee maker, extra blanket, shampoo, lotion, shower cap.

but not during summer since there is no AC in the room.

I don't know if it was just the room or the climate that limits the use of the AC,

The heater is controlled by the fireplace.

If you are sensitive to heat be aware that there is no air conditioning at this facility.

The rooms are clean and tastefully furnished.

The room was tidy and seemed to be recently remodeled.

The rooms are very clean and they have a really nice coffee and juice machine in the lobby.

We were very comfortable and pleased with the cleanliness of the room and amenities the inn supplied.

The service at the Inn was fabulous…..rooms very clean and cozy and lovely coffee/juice bar and nice continental breakfast in the morning.

Could use some decorations/prints on the walls to make it more cozy.

The only negative was that the walls are not very soundproof.

The walls were paper thin so hard to sleep or feel like it is private.

The room he gave us was dark and tiny, the window just a horizontal crack at the top of the wall.

The only negative was the wall heater in our room was a little noisy when it came on or went off.

It is basically a motel (walls are a bit thin),

..because walls are thin and you can hear toilets, showers, conversation and TV.

One comment, the walls are thin and you can hear the other guests.

The only feedback would be replacing the mattress soon and the walls are a bit thin.

There is what seems to be a modern shower design, shower head coming from the ceiling, not the wall.

Needed some pictures on the wall or something decorative to feel more inviting.

The walls are SO thin, the people in the next room felt like they were showering IN my room!

The only thing that I didn’t care for about this hotel was the in wall air conditioner.

but we may have had the fan on all night, which drowns out most noise.

Wall A/C vibrated the entire room when it kicked in.

A few quirks, like the mini fridge being on a cubby on the wall that kept the door from closing unless.you pulled it out a bit, or the fan in the bathroom that acted like a heater.

Heat radiator is super loud, esp when it turns back on after the room has cooled a bit.

But the box air conditioner was extremely noisy -- it actually squealed, so clearly something was wrong.

but I felt like this motel still could have been managed better under the circumstances:
* The heater was so loud on the first night that it kept me awake even when I wore earplugs.

Because you park right in front of your room (a huge perk during the pandemic), there is sometimes some vehicle noise, and sometimes the heaters can be a bit loud.

The a/c or heating system is noisy - humming noise when idle.

My mom ended up with a disabled “suite” in which the refrigerator, nor the air conditioning works.

Ugly murals painted on the walls, a giant hole in the wall under the A/C, and it smelled like something died behind the fridge.

Complaints are: limited office hours and no AC.

Would have given 4 stars except RM 35 did not have AC & the extra fan in the closet did not work .

And free parking. I couldn't find the Jacuzzi spa, the key card quit on me twice in three days, and the ceiling fan is not quite enough when it gets hot (which it sometimes does, even in Monterey.)

The reason for marking down (which I rarely do) is that the room was marked as coming with air conditioning - this was not the case.

Heater made a gosh- aweful tick-tick-ticking noise for 10 min everytime it shut off.

The room had extra blankets, a ceiling fan (with remote) and a table top fan if that's what you need.

What was billed as a "cottage" was a very run-down room with an ancient kitchen and literally falling apart door (the lock fell off while we were there).

I canceled through booking.com and the manager insisted I needed to pay for taxes and room fees because booking.com charged for one night minus fees.

But given the price they were charging for our room, this fact took us by surprise.

but I initially got charged for 2 different reservations, one which I had canceled a few months prior, seemed like it took a ridiculous amount of time to straighten out.

Unfortunately, there are no Federal protections against hotels overbooking or cancelling your reservation to charge more money,

They tried charging us more until we produced the Booking.com info.

Do not trust them as far as the billing goes.. Read numerous previous reviews   They are not to be trusted with your credit card information

but decided $300+ a night most B&B and hotels are charging over the holiday weekend was not worth it with all the traffic and tourists.

And they also charged my husbands card as well for 137.

Obviously these people cannot be trusted, be very careful when dealing with them especially if their website says – “transaction not successful”.

However we found they charged much more for the 2nd night.

It does have a spot to charge an electric car (we don't have one).

Take it only if you are really binded in funds.

When I checked out she didn't even turn around from speaking on the phone to wave goodbye, I just posted the key card in a check out box.

We had to cancel at the last minute, and they were understanding and didn't charge us anything extra.

Then  when she finally checked me in, she insisted that a $300 block on my debit card was necessary, seeing as how I could be a criminal.

If I cancelled without 7 days notice I would be charged in full for the room.

There are many reasons why a card can be declined, one of which is that you don’t live in California.

plus there were conveniently placed plugs where I could charge our devices.

The rooms are clean, extremely clean, actually.

Good clean rooms , bed was very comfortable and the staff was great.

This is the most incredible hotel to stay at in Monterey California because the beautiful and super clean rooms  absolutely have everything you could ever want and the Manager is the most efficient and friendly person I have ever had the pleasure of knowing at a hotel.

I am usually in Monterey over a weekend and stay 1-2 nights each time,  The Lone Oak Lodge is a basic cheap hotel in Monterey with clean rooms and clean bathrooms.

Room was clean, bed comfortable, bathroom ok.

Rooms are clean except the floor (after I showered my feet were getting black so I tried to stay off the floor).

They give room service everyday, so we always have a clean room when we come back, our room was also upgraded to King and it was quite a spacious room.

One of the best things here is the rooms are spotless, before Covid and during, always.

Room was very clean and staff were very helpful.

When I walked in I could not believe how clean this room was you could eat off the floor I kid you not.

This is one step from having four walls and a drain in the center of the floor.

We ended up buying a non-toxic, all natural candle to camouflage the stench.

Plug in fan smelled like burning plastic once it finally worked and sounded like an ailing jet engine.

Yuck, who knows how long that's been in there?

Came back a year later and the same suite is filthy, the jet tub has a flaking outer layer that not only looks bad it seems like a cleanliness issue.

I thought he could have discounted the room for such filth and a non functioning "hot tub".

So when we actually enter our pricey room - to our dismay it is musty, old (and not in a fun, historic way,

When I opened the door, it smelled squishy and when I tried to open the window, it was already open.

There are trash cans outside so after we ate food in our rooms we put our trash outside so it didn’t smell up the room.

Room 47 was very very musty; we discovered a back door to the unit which we found unlocked; and the lighting in the room was very poor.

The main problem was a very unpleasant smell inside the house.

The woman behind the counter was very very kind - I'd woken up with a bad headache, like there was a rotten tooth in the back of my neck - and she was patient with my crabby *ss at check-in.

After calling the font desk the night attendant showed up and said they did not have any 9V batteries and so he would just take the smoke detector from the room.

This said, the smell dissipated after we opened all windows to air it out.

but with old furniture and a funny smell.

but the manager immediately offered to reduce the price and suggested us to run the ceiling fan to get rid of the odor.

The only small issue that I had was when you first walk into this room (33) you greeted by a old musty scent (like your grandmothers house) that dissipates as long as you have the window or fan on, about 20 minutes.

The paint on the bathroom door could also do with sanding down and painting with bathroom paint to stop it blistering.

Patches on the door frame and walls that were exposed, someone did a job halfway.

Once we knew that the door was openable if we forced it, we managed for the two nights we were there.

Couldn't hear the people next door, sometimes footsteps above us

Around 9pm, there was loud talking from the people next door and it continued for a while just outside our room.

Between the TV at max volume from the room next door and the loud sex from another room.

We arrived at 8:15 and the door was locked with nobody around.

The office was closed and I had to report the issue using the after-hours phone by the front door.

I told management about my door not closed or locking properly.

Door handle was installed upside down so instead of pushing the handle down to enter I had to pull up.

Every step was heard and every slammed door.

Our room door strike plate was hanging by a screw and the door molding looked like it was recently kicked in.

Negative points:
A) 8:40 in the morning, a woman opened the door and came inside the room, we were still sleeping.

however there were some guests a couple doors down that decided to stand outside of there room while drinking beers and almost yelling as they talked and partied.

then 7am breakfast starts right next door.

though that it looked like the front door to our room had been bashed open in the past and it had been repaired (not to the highest standard ).

The room was clean and except for two noisy RUDE groups that exited the elevator which was directly outside of our door, hooping and hollering late at night, we had no further complaints.

but the bathroom door lock was broken and it was not closing.

When we discovered our room had a dead phone (yeah, we're old school) and a loosened deadbolt for the door, the staff immediately moved us to a similar room that had a working phone and greater security.

They gave me the number to call about the Wi-Fi and all the person on the end of the Wi-Fi did was to say they needed a call from the manager.

but no one would answer the phone, it was only the recording.

He then tells me, oh its 915 in the morning, we have to wait to call him.

but you're supposed to be able to reach them by phone anytime.

Manager would call to have someone fix our toilet until the next day at 8 am.

The management person Casey called me twice and immediately began verbally assaults and threats on me on my phone.

After several calls to get  a manager, he would do nothing for me.

but staff were more interested in getting their own breakfasts and talking to each other and checking phone messages to pay attention to dirty tables, items out of stock, etc.

Problems arose after calling to adjust the reservation prior to arrival .

We would call again, and get "I'm the only one working tonight, please come pick them up yourself. I can't leave the desk."

While I was checking in, the clerk was verifying with a local affiliate via the phone that the rate for the night that was $20 cheaper than I was paying.

NO wifi: when inquired, we were told it was a problem with our phones :/

but they corrected it before I was able to call and talk to a manager.

According to the front desk manager they hang out there to charge there phones as there is an active outlet on the wall.

Room is great clean and had a great view, the staff is very friendly and helpful, I always book with them because of how clean and friendly they are.

This is a great hotel for the price  The rooms are clean and the internet is reliable.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable and they were also renovated.

We were very impressed with the cleanliness of our room.

This Inn is a very good value for the area of Monterey and our room was very clean, stylish, we had plenty of room, and our beds were very comfortable - we had 2 Queen size beds and slept well both nights.

The best part about the rooms was that they were clean every day.

We got a ocean view room and it was very clean.

Hello I just wanted to say that my stay here was nice and the rooms were clean and my family didn't have any problems getting to our rooms no problems with parking, The manager KC was very accommodating, nice, and respectful.

The room was otherwise clean and reasonably comfortable.

The only thing questionable in the room was the mini fridge had a knob loose hanging by a wire & it was covered in mildew.

We explained the chemicals harsh in the room and are aggravating our allergies and asthma

He showed up at our room with a broken down, stained, and very smelly pack n play with no sheets.

The room was stuffy and we could smell an unpleasant odor,

To be accurate, the room itself did not smell.

The room had a weird musty/chemical smell upon entering.

I did note that they had a bit of a drainage problem in the shower.

There was only a waffle making machine, some coffee, orange juice (tasted more like sunny d), some bread and bagels (which were stale according to my mom) and yogurt.

There was a stain on the carpet (looks like blood) by the sink and room smelled like bleach, which means they really clean.

The room had a strong bleaching smell when we entered.

The carpet in the room felt damp (maybe just cool from the room being above the carport), and our bare feet turned black from the carpet.

There was also a strange brown stain on the ceiling above the bed which grossed us out also.

To be fair the smoking duty manager did offer to change our room after we had complained three times and unpacked for our one night stay.

but when we entered the room the shower curtain seemed damp with light green tint at bottom but disappeared when dry.

I show pictures to mgt & no apology about decor & construction debris.

There was nook or whatever it's called that I could just at.. Open the window smell the air and hear the seagulls and just stare out to the ocean.
