Lots of options on the menu and we had the option of sitting outside (covered) or inside with views of the bay.

It's on the top story and overlooks the whole bay.

The room we booked had a gorgeous view of the ocean and bay; windows open hearing the waves.

Since we postponed our trip until August, we will able to get a bay view and it's so beautiful!

The facility is gorgeous with an excellent view of the bay and the ocean.

The balcony has two chairs and a table overlooking the bay.

The view of the bay was great and everyone on the hotel staff treated us like we were the only ones there.

Speaking of walking, the bike/walk paths adjacent to the hotel offer spectacular views of the bay and coastline.

I used the jacuzzi on the top floor to enjoy the Monterey Bay view and was not disapointed.

My husband and I stayed in a king room with a partial view of the bay.

I selected this spot because I wanted a place close to Cannery Row.

This is a beautiful hotel with a great location, walking distance to Cannery Row, the Aquarium, shopping and lots of restaurants.

Checked into the hotel a little early and was able to walk the entire Cannery row from our proximity from the Hotel.

Everything from the Valet, to check in, to the views and walking distance to cannery row and aquarium  is just worth the stay!

The room was lovely and clean, and the location is walkable to Cannery Row (although it can still take a good 10+ minutes with small kids and short legs).

Hotel is an elegant quiet oasis within walking distance to everything on Cannery Row, Monterey wharf, and charming Pacific Grove.

Oysters at Schooners  amaze.. this place is  close to Cannery row  so lots of fun shops  .

We liked the proximity of Cannery Row, the excellent restaurants within walking distance and most of all the beautiful ocean views and the staff.

The restaurant Sooners was amazing and very close to Cannery Row.

All things Cannery Row are in walking distance.

This is an exceptional hotel and has absolutely everything : comfort, style, excellent location, courteous and professional staff and modern facilities.

Hotel location is lovely, rooms really great, hot tubs on the roof beautiful and lovely moon rise.

The Monterey Plaza has the best location in Monterey with the most spectacular views!

The hotel's stunning bayfront location and luxurious rooms set the perfect stage.

And of course you can't beat the hotel's location right on the water.

Perfect location short walk to Fishermans wharf, Cannery Row and town.

The location is within walking distance to the shops, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the beach.

During our stay, we enjoyed excellent cuisine at the dining establishments located at the hotel.

The location - It is a prime spot if you want to be within walking distance of the restaurants, attractions, and the beach. 2.

Location is good if you're visiting Cannery Row or the aquarium.

Nice location right by the sea and central in the town for the wharf and aquarium.

Monterey Plaza is ideally located on the waters edge with remarkable views.

It was also a great location so that we could walk to the cannery row area and along the beach too.

This was by far the prettiest location we have stayed, coming in second only to Hawaii.

The hotel's location provides easy access to all sorts of activities,  both walking and driving distance.

The location is right on the water, and a walk away from the Cannery Row and the Aquarium.

but there are other hotels that provide this for less expense.

In comparison, this hotel was less than stunning with no extra amenities and cost more than $700 for an inland room with a view of a dirty, old building and parking lot.

The only thing that could have been better was we had to pay for the lunch in multiple installments and we would have a preferred a deposit and final payment.

Along with other costs too such as concierge being the only option for parking at $40 a night.

The reason for giving it only 3 stars is that it's very overpriced for what it is.

Nothing feels cheap here (except the plastic shower heads) and every staff member I encountered was so well-trained.

We ate at Schooners for breakfast which was delicious and while we thought some of the items were expensive the view and staff made up for it.

Still waiting for a call back and hope they can resolve with a bit more class one would expect from a 4 star, expensive hotel.

If you are going to charge a rate that would make most people’s sphincter pucker, at least make sure that the rooms and amenities are representative of the price being charged.

I placed a $70 + tax + tip food/drink order.

Food and drinks were subpar and overpriced

I got a conference rate discount so the per night cost was a bit less,

This expensive property does not have a swimming pool, only 2 hot tubs a hike from our rooms.

i was 32$ per day which is crazy, on the top of the room price

Finally, as we were checking out the next morning we called the Valet (which you pay $35/a day for btw) and the assistant tells us he'll have our car ready.

The hotel is right on Historic Cannery Row with lots of restaurants, shops and the Monterey Bay Aquarium just a few blocks away.

And the views are spectacular, the rooms very clean and the food excellent.

Chelsea Corona at the front concierge  was so sweet and  very helpful and suggested Osteria Al Mare for dinner.

Together with a lady manning the food reception area, they are a credit to the organisation.

The views from the hotel restaurant, Schooners, are equally stunning.

The concierge recommended several restaurants and since we only were at the hotel two nights we used two of the recommendations which again were both fantastic.

Great hotel restaurant, bar and excellent service from all the hotel staff.

We've eaten at the hotels to sitting in the lobby listening and singing along with the piano player, it's awesome!

You don’t need to be a guest staying at the hotel to enjoy the overall hotel for drinks and dining in the restaurants.

We were given a bottle of wine and the kids were given an alcohol free cider.

This was the first time my husband and our friends experienced the dinner, wine paring at the Coastal Kitchen restaurant in the hotel.

The food was AMAZING and all of our guests commented on how much they loved their meals.

We had breakfast and one dinner at Schooners which was very good with the same great service.

The hotel is close to everything and has multiple restaurants, a coffee shop, a beautiful day spa, etc.

We also had a wonderful experience at Schooners for dinner!

The first night, we dined at Schooner’s restaurant (fabulous food…loved the Cod and Salmon) our server was Monica.

Aside from the spotless and well-furnished rooms, our favorite is the staff!

The rooms overlooking the bay are absolutely stunning and being able to hear and see the ocean and to watch the beautiful wildlife is magical.

Plenty of towels in room as well, and decent quality toiletries.

The room was pristine and so large that the three of us all had our own space.

Incredibly helpful and professional and was able to get us into a room that met our needs.

The hotel was beautiful,  the room outstanding and the customer service was the best we had ever experienced.

From the hospitality, the staff, the rooms and the luxurious comfort of the mattresses, pillows and bedding, it's Amazing!

The room was definitely not a room you would have expected in a luxury hotel, it was really quite surprising to discover!

The hotel is extremely clean - from the lobby to the pool area to the breakfast area to our personal room.

We had just spent 2 nights in San Francisco at the Fairmont Hotel where the lobby was luxurious and the rooms was spacious (two separate sleeping areas in a double queen room) all for less than $500 a night.

The manager Conrad personally got us a cooler for our room, and generously gave us a bottle of wine (and graciously walked me up to my room as my hands were full with the cooler) after hearing about our day.

Lovely hotel with good facilities, spa is stunning and the room was well equipt, with kettles, coffee machine, makeup mirror etc.

We were in a booth  in the center of the room and had a great view of the water and other diners.

We opted for an Ocean View room which was well worth the additional expense.

The rooms are super clean and the beds are very comfy.

The rooms are very over priced and in poor condition.

Breakfast in the room was expensive and disappointing.

The overall value is not matching up to the price they charge per night per room.

Not impressed with the room for the price we paid.

The room itself is way overpriced for being as outdated as it is.

Parking is valet-only ($32 a night) and there is a room tax that doesn't show up in the base online price. .but.

Had to pay $330 on top of an already an expensive room for a regular bad.

Room seemed overpriced for standard hotel room.

Our room was nearly $900 a night and probably could have/should have found a less expensive room

but room rates are excessive for what you get.

but only when we can afford to get deals on room rates (I’m fairly poor, so I’m sure average income people would have a little less problems).

- It is shocking that for the room price there isn't even a $20 breakfast included.

The only down side to staying here is that you have to use their valet parking at $32/night which adds to the price of the room.

Very expensive room (stayed in bay suite) and in room service was just terrible.

the person on the phone was a little snobby and said they updated the room a couple years ago and basically said I was lucky to get the room at the rate I purchased

The dated decor was not at all what we expected given the lofty price of the room.

We were looking so forward to staying again for 3 nights and selected a harbor  view room to enjoy our mornings in the room with coffee and the harbor view.

The Room - Our room was overlooking Cannery Row.

Afterwards, you just heard the waves right outside the room and sea lions (faintly) at the Coast Guard pier; all very pleasant.

We got a corner ocean view room that was beautifully decorated.

but if i return, i may ask for a higher or further out partial ocean view room.

I always get a harbor or ocean view room to be able to enjoy the crashing waves at night.

The room itself was breathtaking, both in the comfortable furnishings and classy decor, to the literal wraparound views of Monterey Bay and all her splendor.

Our room overlooking the harbor was lovely.

We had partial ocean view room, we could watch sea otters with binoculars.

Check-in was a breeze and our rooms had a great view of Cannery Row.

The hotel staff treated us like royalty, our room overlooking Monterey Bay was stunning, and the lobby/public areas were beautiful.

We have stayed here several times, and have found that the ocean view rooms are inconsistent, and many have partial views of the dining room or a roof as part of the balcony.

Stunning views from so many spots at this hotel, including our partial ocean-view room, from which we saw otters frolicking in the kelp beds (bring binoculars!)

There were a few other issues with our harbour view room which was located at the far end of the building that houses the spa.

We had the perfect room over looking the ocean for a beautiful sunrise.

Dining was delicious and the views from our room (harbor) were well worth it.

We remarked to each other several times during the weekend how pleasant, welcoming and professional the staff were.

The general manager and every staff member does their best to make your stay exceptional!

Keith (valet) was great, Pascal at reception lovely and Abby at breakfast brilliant.

Of all my travels, this is the best hotel I have ever stayed at and each person working at the Monterey Plaza consistently provided exceptional service—including the valets, front desk and housekeeping.

Special shout out to the staff, to Chris, the spa and gym team, and of course the wait staff and bartenders at Schooners.

It was our 20th Wedding anniversary and we explained this to the lovely Silvia on reception.

SARCO was exceptionally helpful and friendly without being over-bearing or imposing.

The staff are always friendly and helpful.

The staff that helped us during the lunch were very attentive and professional.

Love the fact that parts of the property are built out over the ocean.

The pillows are the fluffiest I’ve ever felt, the beds amazing, and the sound of sea life with a balcony? Exquisite.

The room was perfect and had a fantastic view that made our stay there very special.

We sat on the balcony watching the dolphins & sea lions, listening to the ocean and seagulls - pure bliss.

Our 2nd room had an amazing ocean view and two balconies which meant we could watch the sea otters, sea birds & seals!

From our hotel room we could see groups of seabirds, a family of otters, sea lions and dolphins, and even people-watch in the plaza.

We enjoyed watching the otters in the ocean with unobstructed views of the bay from our table as we drank coffee and ate our way through many of the dishes on the menu (all of them were phenomenal).

We loved our room with its Juliette balcony,  providing a view of the Bay,
and the courtyard patio overlooking the sea,  a great place to sit with sounds of the surf, and fire pits at night.

We had an incredibly spacious suite on the fourth floor with two balconies, two bathrooms and views of the Bay (Room 459).

Customer service was great, got a room upgrade as Ambassador to higher floor with side bay view.

Overall this was a solid choice for the area with wonderful views of the bay.

We eventually got up to the room and were treated to a wonderful room with a nice view out to the bay.

The outdoor areas overlooking the bay are especially lovely.

Hotel overlooks the bay, wonderful place to go exploring.

The restaurant has beautiful views of the bay, and is a nice place to sit outside by the firepit for cocktails too - try the happy hour, very reasonable drinks and bites.

The rooms are well appointed (stay in a suite if you can) and many overlook the bay.

.great place with view of the bay and good array of drinks food and snacks.

The view of the Bay from the room was fabulous, especially watching out for sea lions swimming by.

but the breakfast was very good and the bay view from the restaurant is great.

The location is great: the aquarium is just one block away and the restaurant has a stunning view of the bay.

Wonderful accommodations, great views of bay, great food inside and nearby.

Our room had a balcony with a wonderful view of the bay.

Several of the ballrooms have nice ocean views and the central open air court overlooks the bay.

I didn’t get an email and in the afternoon I contacted the hotel (which was a hassle) and was told the person in charge was out and only they could authorize the upgrade at the price being offered by them.

There were other charges on my account which they cannot identify.

Lastly, a pretty large hold (over $600) was placed on my account when we checked in and I’ve now been charged the full cost of my stay.

We’re still awaiting a refund or clarification as to what the charge was.

We asked for a taxi, they tried, didn’t get an answer and handed us the taxi companies cards and told us to call ourselves.

The hotel billed us over $500.00 without even telling us for smoking.

On the first attempt into the parking lot, the card didn't work.

No club rooms or lounge- told to small of property no credit for breakfast either so knocked down to four stars for those two reasons.

After calling down to the front desk, we were assured that if we removed the items and did not use them, we would not be charged.

but were ASSURED that it was only temporary and nothing would actually be charged until their admin figured it out.

They do key control with magnetic key cards that will get broken if it gets anywhere near electronic devices (iPhone 12 users beware), and their property spans three blocks (including parking garage) where you will be easily locked out with dysfunctional keys.

One small con is the parking garage - the swipe card did not work going in or out of the garage.

I was told that there would be no extra charges,

but was able to have cold storage for our own things by removing their items without fear of being charged (as in Vegas) and putting back at end of our stay.

but they charge you $33 per night for the privilege, although this does allow you to take your car out of the car park numerous times during your stay.

Only downside is the extortionate valet parking charge per night.

Instead of spending the evening enjoying our anniversary dinner out, I spent the majority of it on the phone with my bank trying to get clarification as to why they dropped the ball, and whether they would be honoring the original booking and payment that had already been deducted from our account, and not be double charged.

Cheap fixtures not worth what they are charging it just felt as if they went to the bargain bin at Home Depot to pick out the room fixtures I've stayed in many $500 hotel rooms and this bar none was the worst in terms on low end nothing luxurious or opulent, a step in shower with a plated shower head like Morel 6 and a flow restricter, really?

I waited for another 15 minutes, before I got my key card.

The place is well located and overall a nice property.
