but if the IPAD that controls everything in the room does not charge properly you have a shell of a room with no control.

On my daughter's birthday I requested a birthday greeting and the robot delivered a card and a cake pop to the door while singing happy birthday.

However they kindly removed our charge due to the dj being just above our room.

A couple days after I checked out, they still charged me for the incorrect food & beverage charges.

Parking is a separate charge that we were not aware of until we were there.

I have never been to a hotel where the food opens at 7 and then charges $12 for a terrible breakfast burrito and $4 for a cup of coffee.

When I went to pay with the card I had just used to get a rental, the transaction didn’t complete.

Much smaller and carpeted instead of the pictured beautiful hardwood floors 
-we booked this trip and told the hotel we were travelling with a 3 month old, and they placed us in a room with only a shower (no tub), then told us everything else was booked up so we’d have to checkout and leave our luggage for 5 hours at the front desk to wait for a room to be cleaned
-the key cards can work to charge the food to your room

It was challenging figuring out how to get everything charged up.

My key card was supposed to also work as a charge card around the park and it didn't - would be great if they'd do what Disney does and also allow your key card as your park ticket as well; and 3.

We didn’t fully catch her mistake until she printed our room key cards with the wrong last name!

As a result, I am writing this review because my credit card now has over $600 in charges on it for a stay that I never received.

but I've never been charged for ice before.

Website says if you stay at hotel you will only pay $18 for overnight parking and I was charged $47.92. Absurd!

Also, be aware billing department is not readily available on the weekend!

So I will and currently am disputing this charge as it was a considerable amount.

While my stay was lovely, its been a long nightmare to get my bill AND correct a minor billing error corrected and then get an updated bill.

Don’t tell them how many people on your party because they will charge you extra.

After a brief investigation the hotel placed a credit against our room for the estimated value of the glasses.

Stayed here for 2 weeks ,lovely hotel,Starbucks in the lobby urban pantry were you can get breakfast is nice and then pizza at night ,staff am friendly, close to volcano bay ,just walk through the gate at the bottom of the pool and your right by security, transport to city walk and the parks every 5 minutes.

The only mishap is Starbucks in the lobby.

Rooftop bar was great, we stayed in a deluxe room on 7th floor which was large, comfortable and very clean.

They have a beautiful roof top bar that is open late and pizza delivery room service that we utilized.

We also experienced the roof top bar which had great views and great service.

The staff was very friendly and the rooftop bar is very cool!

One evening of our stay we went to Bar 17 on the rooftop and I highly recommend you do the same.

I think we are gonna stay clear of theme parks for a while, last time we went to Disney, it was even worse, which is why we chose Universal.

I liked the proximity of the hotel to the Universal theme parks, and the hotel itself was very nice.

Our first trip here would have been nice with a room with the view of theme parks.

Amazing place to visit with family, definitely had no problems with transport to and from the theme park itself.

Great and reasonably priced hotel that is very close to Volcano Bay and not far from Citywalk & the 2 Theme Parks.

Had the most wonderful experience at the Universal Aventura hotel and Universal theme parks.

Easy to access city walk and the theme park either by bus or by water taxi.

Theme park access through adjacent property water taxi was excellent.

One key to turn on room light Shuttle bus driver are polite .10 minute to theme parks.

but bear in mind it's a Universal Hotel which has been designed for customers of the Theme parks.

I would 100% stay here again when visiting the Universal theme parks.

Our room was amazing the view of the theme park was breath taking.

We were allocated a room on the 16th floor with spectacular views over the theme parks and sapphire falls hotel.

For the rest of the time we were there we used the theme park buses that take you from the hotel to the city walk entrance non-stop.

It’s perfect for getting some theme park perks while you have a nice place to stay.

It allowed us close and convenient access to the Universal theme parks, a wonderful transportation option to get to the parks (boat) and overall it was a flawless trip.

Everything was very handy bus to universal and City walk to Starbucks in the lobby!!

Buses to city walk were quick and frequent.

The staff was friendly, café had amazing choices to choose from, buses that take you to City Walk, a warmed pool, the sand bar next to the pool had some fun drinks, speakers underneath the water so you can hear the music as you dive.

Free Shuttle to City Walk and Universal theme parks was fantastic.

The only way location could be better would be if it was walking-distance to the park, the shuttles ran very regularly and it's a short ride to City walk where you then access both parks.

Surfside is in close proximity to Universal theme parks and city walk.

The bus came every 10 minutes for city walk.

We did one day at Universal Studios and the shuttle to city walk was very efficient.

Had great time hotel modern clean, no teabags in room and no entertainment at pool only have pool bar buses to parks amazing didnt wait longer than 5mins only 10min ride bus on till 1am if you doi g bars at city walk.

View - tower 2 not pool side - we had an amazing view of the full universal estate from volcano bay to city walk, we loved our view.

Booked this hotel because of price and transportation to Universal parks and City Walk.

The buses for volcano bay and city walk were every 10 mins ish, very efficient!

The shuttle to CityWalk/parks was around the clock and even 1 hour after city walk closes.

However, the shuttle will take you to city walk each evening, where there are lots of places to eat.

Shuttle to and from the parks from just outside the lobby every 10 minutes (10 minutes journey to CityWalk) The property is super convenient to everything ….. parks, city walk, I-drive, Walgreens across the road, several breakfast options within 5 minutes walk.

They have a nice shuttle service to take you to the Universal City Walk so at least you can have a fun time there without having to worry about driving and parking.

but keep in mind you can hop on the bus and in minutes be a City Walk where you can find meals of every taste and at every price.

BUT the rooms are spacious, kitchenettes, bedding is clean white and fantastic, location and transportation to city walk is frequent and just awesome to be able to park up the car and take it.

this was my first time staying at the surfside resort .from the moment I checked in with reception to the time I checked out the staff were all friendly and helpful .my room was lovely on the 7th floor with a pool and lake view which were both fab .rooms had 2 queen beds .tv.

The hotel is clean, staff friendly and knowledgeable with reasonably priced food and drinks.

There is a Starbucks in the lobby that opens at 6am with the sweetest staff.

The Starbucks in the lobby is a welcome convenience, and the shuttle to the parks was clean, timely and helpful.

There’s a lobby Starbucks, inexpensive food court, game room, fitness center, and pool.

The Starbucks in the lobby is a great touch yo grab a coffee before heading to the parks and the free shuttle bus is a god send.

The hotel was nice enough, Starbucks in the lobby was expensive and shut at 10.

The rooms were spacious and the hotel is bright and fun, plus the Starbucks in the lobby is convenient.

With great sleep (especially traveling to FL from mountain time zone zzzzz), we enjoyed the early a.m. fast and friendly Starbucks in the lobby and the hotel guests' early entry time to Universal parks, using their 10min complimentary  shuttle bus service.

Also be aware that the rooms are not very soundproof, we especially had problems with a heavy footed person from the room above us and could clearly hear peoples conversations in the hallway.

Limited choices, poor quality, no variety and the staff was more asleep then awake on the job.

Only issue we encountered was noisy neighbours until 2:00 am.

I could hear everything happening in the hotel.

it seemed to have very little sound proofing.

I also guess there is a lot of noise coming through the ventilation system which is also very annoying.

The other downside was they have helicopter tours close by and they would be going over every 5mins.

- The other major issue we ran into was the soundproofing, or lack thereof.

In August, we started hearing rumors about financial issues with the agency.

although a little noisy because of the music.

The walls are a tad on the thin side, and we could hear people in the adjacent rooms and in the corridors.

We had very noisy guests move in beside us with a baby who cried most of the night and kept us awake.

For the price point (which is the same as a Hilton) and the constant shuttle, I’d consider staying again,

I could hear the kids next door over the program on TV.

Whilst not directly related to the hotel, we also had to contend with constant ride reliability issues in the Universal Parks that we didn't encounter at the start of our holiday, which inevitably affected our overall attitude to our stay at a Universal hotel.

But we would hear their every conversation and alarm!

Bus to and from theme parks was very quick and easy to access.

Bus service to the theme parks is absolutely excellent.

Shuttles to theme parks is very well organised & easy to go with.

Recently stayed for the first time at the endless resort surfside inn and visited Universal theme parks, had the most amazing time and both the hotel and theme park surpassed my expectations.

After staying at pop century my expectations of entry level pricing for theme park hotels was low.

We never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus to the theme parks, and 10 for volcano bay.

Our experience at Universal Theme parks and at Surfside Inn Resort was excellent.

oh, and I could refill my water bottle for free before & after the theme parks!

Overall I'd describe this a a budget hotel which is a good base for visiting theme parks

The food facilities had a pretty good choices and catered well for gluten free options required by one of our party.

There were always plenty of sunbeds available with most people at the theme parks during the day.

As a well versed theme park enthusiast, and a true Disney fan, I can say sorry Disney

Great convenience with access to the parks and locations to other theme parks overall.

We had a really great time at this resort and Universal Theme Park.

Buses were regular to the theme parks and well organised even when busy.

Highly recommend this Hotel as they have a Bus system to take you to the Universal CityWalk and you can just walk to the theme parks from there.

Most of all it was very reasonably priced for a theme park hotel.

Staying here also gives you the privilege of early admission to one of the universal theme parks every day.

Shuttle to Universal theme parks was convenient and frequent.

I missed key points others mentioned…the walls are PAPER THIN.

One night we ended up banging on the walls at 3am as they were being so disturbing.

The lighting system was interesting in that your room key had to be inserted into a switch on the wall to operate.

Overall hotel facilities were good ie pool, towels and laundry rooms 👍🏻 guest room walls not soundproofed at all to point where you can hear a pin drop, cleaners were very noisy crashing and banging around at 8am everyday and noise at night from 10pm-midnight from neighbouring rooms, shower tray wasn’t cleaned thoroughly as expected on arrival, superficial cleaning is carried out daily ie restocking of towels, tissues and cups

Hotel facilities ie Pool, Towels and Laundry Facilities as expected 👍🏻 Guest rooms were cleaned superficially everyday ie restocking of towels, tissues , cups etc, floors weren’t vacuumed for our entire two week stay, bedsheets we’re replaced once during our stay, cleaners were very noisy when cleaning rooms next door crashing/banging around at 8am everyday, room walls need soundproofing to a point where you can hear a pin drop, constant noise from neighbouring rooms from 8pm-midnight due to walls being thin, no list/menu or opening times for the Cafe/restaurant or local recommendations for restaurants given in the Guest room and  a list of services available at the hotel given in the Guest rooms, all other TUI arrangements as expected.

Downside is that (just like in earlier reviews) the walls are thin between the rooms, so if you're not lucky, you get to hear everything and every word that is said in the rooms next or above you.

We know this as we heard their full conversations nearly every day through the walls.

Big let down for the hotel is the room walls are paper thin so you can hear other guests so there is no privacy and very hard to go to sleep until every guest around you is ready to sleep.

however, is very outdated and the walls are paper thin in the rooms so you can literally hear your neighbors, people in the hallway, and other rooms flushing their toilets.

Everyone was rude and kids kept us up all night slamming doors and banging on the hallway walls.

I had heard reviews that the walls were very thin and you could hear everything your neighbors were doing,

Yes the walls are a little thin and you can hear your neighbours!

The walls are a little thin so you get to hear your neighbors if they get loud after coming back from CityWalk.

The walls of the room must be insanely thin and ALL noises can be heard.

The walls in this hotel are paper thin you can hear literally everything going on around you whether it be people walking down the halls in the rooms above you blow you all of it we did not get any sleep even after making multiple phone calls to the front desk

Also the walls are very thin, so if you like to sleep in before hitting the park, especially if you're having a long stay you will be woken up by other guests and housekeeping in the morning.

Don't get me started on the kids running up and down the hallway knocking on doors in the middle of the night, or the fire alarm that sent me scrambling in my wheelchair to the locked out elevators.

The elevators were a very far walk from our room.

Staff use the same lifts as guests which makes waiting longer for them.

The only thing that i did notice as  bit of negative of the hotel itself was some of the carpets in the hotel corridors was a bit dirty looking and lifts getting busy and regularly having to wait around, it’s a bit late now yet the lifts near the lobby side or the hotel has 4 lifts yet the far end only has 2 which would made sense having 4 there

Lifts could be a bit of a frustration at times and don’t feel there is really enough for volume of people and number of floors.

Just beware of the bed size…oh and the lifts will drive you insane if you are on the second floor and no real easy way just to walk up a flight of stairs.

Long walking distances to rooms from elevators with not very wide hallways.

We stayed in Room 1 on 10th floor in Tower 2 (furthest from elevators)and I can honestly say you could hear a pin drop at night!

but only used 1 right outside the elevator on the ground floor by my room.

but the ground floor as we assumed this would have the most foot traffic with people needing to use the corridor to access lifts for each floor.

Parking is an extra $15/day and the hotel is laid out so there are extremely long hallways - think of The Shining - so it takes forever to get to an elevator (if one is working and not packed with other guests).

The 2 elevators at the other end of the tower from the lobby, nearest our room, did not work at all or only one worked.

Doors can just be pulled open without having to scan key card, gates to parking area just open without having to use key card, elevators are a nightmare and get stuck.
