They're aren't enough elevators for the amount of rooms in the main tower which typically has you waiting in line for them, especially around when the fireworks happen and everyone that isn't staying there shows up.

Only reason why I didn’t give it a 5 is because the elevators are very busy.

The elevator is a bit small especially for large families.

The elevators were extremely slow, the food was overly expensive and not good.

Also, the elevator didn't work in our building,

Two of the elevators were not functioning properly during our entire week-long stay.

As other reviews mention, the hotel could also use several more elevators to avoid lengthy waits.

As there was only one functioning lift we requested to be moved to the ground floor as this would make things easier with the wheelchair.

When elevators arrive they are over full.

We like seeing the characters as chefs from our walkway to the elevator.

Also, expect the elevators to be super busy in the morning and at park close.

And the elevators are slow and rammed at all times.

There were 4 elevators at the resort in the main building

Tip: get there 15-20 min earlier because you have to ride the elevator up and there will be a line.

We were also disappointed to see only one small elevator for the entire wing and only 1 party at at time allowed.

Because we did not pay any upgrade charge for this floor it is hard to gauge how good a deal it is.

Overall a nice stay, if a bit overpriced.

Though the price point is high, I can now see what the Contemporary provides that the moderate resorts simply do not.

Someone else mentioned parking and there are no costs to park.

For the price Disney charges the room should be clean.

You paid to get the resort closest to Magic Kingdom by foot (less than 10 mins).

We paid extra for the Disney feel and I felt like a number in a clunky old machine.

Regardless, it was disgusting and not worth the price.

I would have paid more if I had known I was in a separate building.

All the food is over priced we bought 4 burgers and 4 Gatorades at the cafe and it cost $99 Canadian the burgers were dry and burnt (McDonald’s has better burgers).

even though I paid for a room with a patio or balcony and did not receive one.

but I expect way more for the price we paid.

In a word, this hotel is an expensive process.

We arrived early by Uber and were able to store our bags, go to the parks, and go straight to the room the next day.

Our room was in the Garden Wing, which is much quieter than the main building

Cast member Precious found a room for us right away.

There was a Keurig coffee pod machine in the room - what a great convenience.

We stayed at the garden wing and our room was big enough for all 5 adults.

The room itself was laid out well -- small,

We landed at 10:30am and got a text at 11am that our room was ready.

Service is very good, rooms clean and beds are great.

You paid for an "upscale" room, and could've paid more for direct view of the fireworks as well.

We were on the first floor of rooms above the monorail and we woken up every morning by the monorail workers radios.

When I checked in the cast member upgraded my room which was very nice.

Also great view of fireworks from our room.

Found our way to our room which was in the garden wing (again bringing all our own luggage).

They offered no solution, so we ended up carrying all of our bags across the property to our room.

We found the rooms to be dark and a bit beat up in the Kidani 2 bedroom villa that cost around $1500 per night, with quality and comfort was equivalent to a 3 star hotel.

but the area with the toilet was dark and had zero decor, not a big deal but I was a little surprised, was like the bathroom area was overlooked.

but kind of dark because of the themed decor.

but they weren’t as long or as dark as I imagined they’d be!

Absolutely loved Jambo   hated Kidani   Our room  was  no lie at least a mile from check in, dark gloomy hall ways , was in a back corner  I think like room 7655?

but busy and main lobby area was pleasant but quite dark.

Unfortunately, this time of the year it gets dark early, so we had to catch them in the morning before heading to the parks.

It appeared a bit run down, the shower was terrible, the lighting in the bathroom was way too dark and overall, just did not feel Disney in quality.

Understanding the theme of the resort, I still found décor dark and very tired looking.

The African theme resulted in the rooms being dark and the necessity of taking buses everywhere was time consuming.

I think the rooms could stand a little updating as it was very dark and the carpet had a musty smell.

So they take a little to get going in the mornings after they are released and have breakfast and of course you aren't going to see them in dark from your room.

The hotel itself seem to be very dark, it is supposed to be using more natural light

It was ok…but below the standard I would expect at a Disney property and for the price.

First words from him, “This is terrible, why did we pay for this?”.

View and placed us in a back yard and ignored other requests.

but when you have paid thousands for a time share membership and this happens it is inexcusable.

I read previous reviews about long hallways and we're a young able bodied family, no strollers, wheelchairs or anything so didn't pay much attention to that.

We ended up opting for a no-view room due to the much higher savanna-view price point.

but a bit expensive especially as kids pay full$30 at age 10.

We got zero apology on, which was disappointing considering how much it costs to stay.

When I got there first night, late after long drive, didn’t realize that and my car paid the price.

Like all of Disney's main resorts, expect to pay a premium to stay here.

Yes, the cost of Kidani is high compared to other Disney proprieties.

We stayed in a one bedroom savanna view room, which was a little pricey,

but wow, what a puzzling way to speak to a guest, especially at the cost of being a DVC owner or paying cash to stay at this type of a resort, baffling to suggest traveling offsite to a McDonalds, by a manager?

Lyft drivers could not figure out how to enter the parking garage and drive to the nearest elevator where we would have been more than willing to meet them and pay for that transportation.

They need to pay attention to room numbers.

For what we paid, we were generally disappointed.

The room was plenty big enough for my husband and I.

Get the savanna view rooms to watch all the animals right from your room.

The room was freezing the entire time, and you can't even adjust it.

Is there any room we could be moved to that would help us out?

The upside of the room were the amazing animals we could watch from our balcony.

Rooms are decorated in animal themes and the villas here are huge rooms, more room than the Beach club or boardwalk and all around huge bathrooms etc.

Do yourself a favor, book a room at the Waldorf or Jw Marriot, you will enjoy better service, more hospitality, nicer rooms, all for typically less money and you can simply Uber it take their own shuttle to the parks when you are out here with the kids.

We were wayyy down the hallway on the 4th floor in room 7866 and if you don't have anyone in your party with mobility issues the walk is really a non-issue.

My room was very large and I was very happy with it.

The pillows in the room as really soft, which we particularly did not like.

but it was horrible to wake up out of a dead sleep here in a drill behind your head.

The first morning, I called the front desk and they assured me that no construction was taking place, so there was no way I was hearing construction noises.

We were initially allocated a room in a block where work was being carried out on the pool, reception were very helpful and moved us to the next block with an open pool, and away from the construction noise.

The construction work was heard on 3 or 4 occasions and resulted in drilling and banging.

On the second day of our visit, an attempt to sleep in was interrupted by construction noise from the room next door, with loud drilling on the shared wall.

but parts of resort are under construction so tvs were left on all night next to our room.

but miss the old character, theming, and charm that the new construction is lacking.

but not all, of the problems were during design and construction.

They are doing construction so it's very busy.

We were a little hesitant to stay at this time because of the construction.

never trust Disney resorts where construction is going on. .

The construction is virtually finished and we were not bothered by it at all.

I have nothing negative to say besides the construction

Not exactly sure when construction will be done,

but once there we discovered that the construction is a new section being built- exciting- and we were never inconvenienced or disturbed by noise.

There was an extra walk to the main pool since the deck was closed due to construction,

It's almost finished with the construction and they said it would be open in the next week or two.

For the price you pay the service needs improvements.

Basic things are expensive like a cup of drip coffee was $4, cheese burger and fries at the pool was $17 with tax.

The prices are also ridiculous compared to other resorts.

or pay $4 for Disani water bottles-made by Coca Cola - they take 2c TAP water yes TAP water (google it), filter it and then charge $4 PER BOTTLE -a rip off.

I expected everything to be massively overpriced

Though nowhere near as expensive as deluxe Disney resorts, Coronado offers a similar level of comfort and relaxation.

I would never recommend this resort, pay a lot of money for a poor stay

however - that said, my room cost over 240.00 per night, which was supposed to be a special conference rate, however there were lower rates on Expedia.

No one, except overpriced “Minnie vans” can drive past the lobby. 2.

Worst food court of any hotel I have stayed for the prices.

I feel that as a moderate resort and the price you pay, they could at least make the bed and empty the bin everyday.

Cons: Everything is overpriced as expected,

however, upon check in, asked to see if there were any available which we would kindly pay the upgrade fee.

Luckily we found 3 out of the 4 we had last time otherwise it was another cost !

The prices were at least 25% higher than our trip that was cancelled 3 year ago, so we wanted to balance a bit of budgeting with splurging.

although the room was a little smaller than I was expecting for the price you're paying.

The food is verbally overpriced and very average.

Absolutely everything was overpriced and tasted awful!

On top of that, the ease of check in meant everything went smoothly to get in, and the room was great!

Our view from the room was spectacular and we saw fireworks every night.

great hotel, very clean, parking lot was close to the room for easy transportation of sleeping children, the staff was so amazing.

I appreciated all the outlets in the room as well.

Our room was in Casitas, Building 5 with a very meh parking lot view.

I came back to my room one day to a towel bird, and the next to an adorable elephant!

The quick service could do with some pizza late at night when you just want to get something easy to take back to the room.

There was a new Gran Destino Tower where I booked a room at.

but it does have beautiful Spanish architecture, soft Spanish guitar music playing in the common spaces, smells wonderful (live a good hotel signature scent) and our room was great.

The staff at reception were friendly and helpful and did quickly sort out the room issues,

The room is modern, spacious and has a lot of storage space.

Room was clean, resort was very nice, and I was surprised that there was affordable food in the hotel.

The rooms have been updated and were  extremely comfortable.

About 5 minutes into our trek to the room I told my family that this was wrong.

We were thrilled to get a corner room with a balcony on the boardwalk overlooking the lake.

Boardwalk Inn rooms have recently been renovated and were beautiful, no complaints here.

Maybe I would recommend the Boardwalk if the rooms were refurbished,

I felt embarrassed to take supplies off the maid cart myself and restock our room.

We had a not-yet-updated room, and it showed its age.

The pool has a big slide, great bar, work out room, and small arcade.

My husband arrived after a couple minutes and we proceeded to make our way to our room when we encountered the same cast member making his way back downstairs with our luggage.

Our room faced the water and we were delighted to get a small eyeful of the Magic Kingdom fireworks. All the transportation is available (except monorail!)

I’ve read a few comments about the rooms being old-fashioned

For the $400+ per night rate,  we got a room that would embarass a roadside  motel in rural nowhere.

We were told that rooms were given by “view” and that this was a “garden” view.

The kitchenette area had plenty of room for a case of bottled water and snacks.

There was even a possibility that some of the real rooms have been upgraded since 1996.

I know the rooms will be going through a refresh the beginning of next year and I am looking forward to seeing everything.

The room is standard and saved money renting through a DVC broker.

I lost time making memories with my family scrubbing black mold off the shower and trying multiple times to get an unused washer and dryer for laundry.

That kind of smell of dirty towels, dampness that lingers everywhere.

What was disappointing to us was the room itself, the rooms are starting to show age, there was a musty smell to our room, the carpets looked very worn-out and in need of severe cleaning not just vacuuming.

but in some areas it was like overpowering.

Smelled of damp and overall just really tired.

Entering the room, I suddenly had a relaxing thought: All of the rooms are disgusting at this hotel; all the rooms are dated… I will never have to stay at the Boardwalk Inn again!

There was some serious construction going on at the front of this resort, replacing the walkways and a lot of the front was closed off and the paint smells or whatever were horrible.

Between the third and fourth floor there is an open galley where the private innkeepers club is - they have a restaurant in there and they leave the double doors open so the odors waft: one night we were treated to garlic tomato smells and the next night garlic shrimp.

The room also smelled of mildew and that is very much like a budget motel on the Jersey shore.

My only critique about the hotel is the pervasive smell of fish that permeates throughout.

The smell of the shampoo, conditioner and body wash, I swear had disney put in it also,  I know the room coffee was Mickey coffee as well.

Walking through the halls we noticed an almost nauseating smell of fried fish everywhere, gross!

Cons- we had to switch rooms everyday due to moldy, mildew odor which gave us cough, sore throats, runny nose & headaches.

The only negative was a mildewy smell near the coffee maker.

Disney's BoardWalk Inn

Only one lift working during most of our 15 night stay meaning you always had a long wait and we were on the 5th floor, otherwise would have walked the stairs!

Only 2 elevators for this hotel, not enough and they are insanely slow.

Our only Con would be the speed of the elevators.

The elevator wait can be ridiculously long.

Near elevator on our floor was washing machine available- - $1.50 Dryer also $1.50 set on heavy duty did not dry clothes well.

We loaded our stuff on a cart only to find the room was right next to the elevators.

There are only 2 elevators so can become slow during busy time.

I really only have two minor complaints the beds were very firm and uncomfortable and the elevators were slow.

I was also disappointed that the hotel seemed to need a “face lift”.

Laundry and ice making machine so if you’re a light sleeper avoid rooms near lift and those might hear disturbance.

Only improvement would be for BOTH elevators to have been working

Anyway, in brief, here are the positive and negatives we found:
Firstly the negatives - the slowest lifts in hotel history, then sometimes they are being cleaned at breakfast time which is the busiest time of day!

Oh and I never found out where the stairs were in my entire stay as thr lifts can be very slow!

He gave us our keys and after waiting more than 10 minutes to get into the elevator (beware of the sloooowest elevator in history), got to the room, opened the door, and the room was not cleaned.
