When we got to our room, the air conditioning unit did not work well and was very noisy.

It is evident that costs were spared left & right and cheap, ineffective measures were used to bandage larger problems.

The Air Conditioning stayed on until we had to turn it off and open the windows to avoid freezing.

We paid $550 for 2 nights and we didn’t even have hot water for a shower, we took freezing cold showers everyday.

Broken air conditioner upon arrival, four calls to the front desk to request it be repaired or our room switched.

With the breakfast included,  no elevators working, and the AC is on a timer so your boiling in the night, not to mention that the whole place  smelled like varnish.

They promised to bring us a space heater, and never showed.

My  bath jets did not work, and the lighting system in my brother's room and fan in the bathroom did not work properly.

After dropping my bag stopped by desk and showed them what was happening with the  thermostat and asked that they look at it while I had dinner.

At one point during our stay we could actually smell cigarette smoke coming out of the vent above the shower.

With the heater running, we started getting a gritty taste in our mouths and itchy eyes, which probably means the ventilation system hasn't been cleaned in 10 years, either.

but there was no fan in the bathroom The hotel is under new management and is being renovated, but meanwhile, go elsewhere.

Wallpaper peeling everywhere, in our rooms, all over the lobby, ac didn't work, elevators were out, one lonely shampoo and washcloth in our bathroom.

Finally we got another room in a different section of the hotel which was old and musty with poorly functioning AC, I would never recommend staying here.

I asked front desk for a fan, they argued over it in front of me and the fan only came after I called 8 hours later (after wedding)  Room cleanliness was lacking- tears in green leather couch in room, tons of trash under the bed.

Their AC cannot handle warm temperatures and rooms can get up to 80 degrees and their only solution is to bring you a fan which is of zero help.

As longtime fans of Doubletree hotels, our stay this week at the Tarrytown location was extremely disappointing.

We noticed the a/c not working and we complaint on the next day.

Julie Curi was with us all the way as this event was delayed twice for covid.

I had an event here earlier in the month.

Felt like he was there 24/7 for any of our events that were held in the Banquet Room.

but Edward Proctor at the front desk was able to work some magic and score us a room in the middle of the Westminster dog show events!

Our guests were definitely impressed with the quality of the food at each event.

Pretty much; for an event during the day it’s a beautiful hotel;

I was the Event Planner for a group of 75 people for my organization.

This hotel provides the quality of service you look for when you hire them to pull off a great family event.

Nurul, the Banquet Manager, went above and beyond to ensure our event went well.

A Thanksgiving holiday and 90th birthday weekend brought me to this property, which was central to both events.

The hotel hosts many events and event parking takes priority over guests- so if you return to the hotel in the evening just be prepared to walk from the back of the hotel.

The hotel's banquet and event staff are professional, courteous, and always eager to please.

My wife and I stayed here for a couple nights to be in close proximity to Sleepy Hollow for the Halloween events.

There was mashed cookies, sandwich, wrappers throughout the halls on the way to the room.

Sunny checked us in and his name suits him, warm and amiable, verbally acknowledging us as Diamond members and offering us moist warm delicious cookies and bottled water.

The cookies on check in are also delicious!

When you check-in reception gives you 2 cookies.

Front desk staff very friendly and we were given 2 warm chocolate chip and walnut cookies when checking in. Delicious.

The lobby was nice, the cookies were warm as usually and always a great treat.

When the cookies arrived they gave me two, rewarding me for my patience.

The cookies are always a nice touch (even if you are trying to watch your waistline) and the in room dining is one of the main attractions of this hotels offer this service and of the ones that do they don't do it better than Double Tree

I loved the cookies, and the host was very giving of them.

When my wife and I arrived on a cold night in mid-December, we received a pleasant greeting at the front desk and were given two warm chocolate-chip cookies.

We checked in and the people at the front desk were friendly and the cookies were good.

Having worked with Double Tree by Hilton Hotels across the country, I was excited to surround myself and my students with their warm cookies and welcoming staff.

We were even given some delicious cookies upon checking in.

First walking in I was welcomed with warm, delicious cookies.

She laughed and said, well we better give you two cookies!

There seemed to be adequate staff and everyone was friendly enough.

The room was very comfortable and the staff was extra friendly!

they even let us park our car for free for a week while we flew out of town and the staff was very friendly.

Lonni at the front desk was so helpful and friendly and also Jose at the restaurant/bar.

Sutee the bartender was friendly and made a mean margarita!

I found each of them to be super friendly and very accommodating.

We had two bartenders for the week and both Plinio and Sutee were friendly and saw to all of our guests needs.

What I can say is that every single staff person we encountered was extremely friendly.

Also, their staff, especially Carlos Rodriguez, was incredible…a hard worker and made things happen whenever we needed them, plus, he is very polite and friendly - any other staff I encountered were also kind and helpful.

First the good part: the bed was very comfortable, and checkin was quick and friendly.

We did grab a beer in the bar, the young lady who helped us was quick, efficient and friendly.

Very run down, all the reviews you see about the strong smell, the people running around the hallways at night, the lack of hot water, the lack of cleanliness in the rooms, and broken locks on the doors are all true.

The hallways and elevator need to be vacuumed and cleaned.

The hallways and the rooms smelled very musty.

Hallways smell like urine, worn dated carpeting, and no service.

Our room was filthy and the hallway was strewn with trash and used towels/linens.

Every part of our stay was a disaster including: delayed check-in, getting bumped from the room I booked without apology, hallways littered with trash all day that smelled like mildew, rooms that reeked of smoke, dingy furniture, stained carpet, ripped/old bed linens, no hotel management on site, loud guests, a front desk staff who hung up on you when you called with a concern and NO HOT WATER.

Children running,and  playing stomping in hallway until 12:30am waking me up.

Rooms and corridors were dingy, old, and the A/C was cranking out and the thermostat wasn't working.

He told us to go down the hall to the elevator.

There were dirty linens, trash and even dirty dishes in the hallway.

There was a creaky elevator with a hesitant door, and then 6 or so stairs to the second floor hallway -- not good for heavy suitcases or mobility impaired.

On our return there were kids running round the corridors making a lot of noise.

The hallways are endless and hard to navigate.

We got dressed in the hall for a wedding because it was cooler than the room.

It seems like they were trying to update some things as we did see several maintenance workers painting and repairing various areas in the hallways.

To top it off, another guest cursed us out for walking behind them in the hallway.

Pros:
Lobby smelled amazing- what was that smell?!?

I had to move rooms as the first room 304 had all of the above including mold.

To all you people leaving nasty reviews for this hotel: you should be ashamed.

The room reeked of stale cigarette smoke and scented sprayed chemicals on top of that.

our first room was moldy and smelled like smoke and they gave us another room right away.

The room itself smelled strongly of a combination of mold / smoke.

The general manager was quite nasty about it - no apology or explanation. I was just told "too bad, this is what you get."

The room was outdated and had a TERRIBLE odor - mold, stale smoke??

And the toilet seat had dried urine on it.

I have an electric car that I have charged out front there before.

I know have a card with $200 on it that can't bee used.

I was also charged for parking and that was not listed .

He said after we checkout, the $100 hold would be released on the credit card within 3-5 days.

but everything else….credit cards, drivers licence, Nexus card and everyone piece of personal information I own.

Electrical outlet clustered around one bed near the window, the other bed near the bathroom has no outlet, harder to charge iPhones.

I gave her my key card she then changed my room which was no big deal until I got upstairs .

She was unable to explained to me why I was over charged some supervisor.

but with so many issues, and the price diffrence from what I was told to what I was charged.

Arrived 10 pm to find my room sold out They claimed credit card problem

When I  looked at my bill on my phone, I saw the charge.

My confirmed reservation that was to cost $425.56 has now cost me $1893 because they have charged me FOUR times.

Lo and behold we checked our credit card on Monday, again on Tuesday, then again on Wednesday and no refund.

Had some drama at checkout when I learned that despite my presenting another credit card at check in.

Desk Staff could not figure out how to credit my stay with IHG rewards program; said I'd have to call HQ and say there was a problem.

When I returned to the desk later to purchase a snack and aspirin to relieve a headache, I was charged for the snack,

The pool doors were unable to open with our key cards despite numerous attempts by staff to reset the door.

For our troubles, we received an apology note from Stacey and a $5 gift card to Dunkin' Donuts.

Good service, comfortable beds, clean….nice complementary breakfast. Great!

The hotel was a good choice for the purpose of playing at Manhattan College.

The drive to the Manhattan Cruise terminal is eas - essentially one dual carriageway the whole distance, avoiding downtown NY.

If you wanna get out of your room and do something you can watch TV downstairs, you can have your food delivered to you and you can meet them in the lobby or the receptionist will call you in your room to come downstairs and get your food.

The manager was making the girl call me and was telling her what to say on the phone.

even though I’d had to call over and over, they still didn’t have the added day when I arrived.

The Staff allowed some room on our floor BLAST music until it stopped after repeated calls to the front desk to stop the music.

The AGM was able to adjust my rate to the original rate and emailed me an update that was before miss Joanna got upset because she was unable to answer my question so Yelled at me and hanged up the phone on me.

They rejected my reservation, & took 3 hours of my vacation time on the Phone in the Lobby with Price line.

I went to the front desk one night to get something and was told I would have to wait because she was trying to call her manager because her relief didnt show up.

During the call the rep asked for my last name a few times bc I forgot my Rm#.

I have nothing to write, please work on a better internet because it’s was very horrible and it didn’t let me use my phone until I had to take off he WiFi and use my own data plan, also be mindful of others

The front desk was not accurate with my reservation had to pull up my confirmation on the phone because they were not sure of my rate.

however return again and call ahead to see if it is back up.

We had no clean towels, so I had to call the front desk early the next day to ask for them.

Worse, after multiple calls and emails to Hilton, they have so far been unable to fix the problem.

I really hadn't had the time to call that afternoon,

We asked to speak to the manager and the person said they we would leave a message with the manager (who was not there at the time) and that the manager MIGHT call us back.

Only minor complaint (if you can call it that) was the bar seemed to lack inventory of some menu items and certain cocktail paraphernalia.

The rooms are spotless and staff very accommodating.
