The steak was delicious and the coronet pudding went down a treat.

We all had a delicious Sunday lunch with gorgeous food, followed by amazing desserts.

We ate in the Links for both evening meal and breakfast.

though with delicious food well presented, polite & friendly service, generous portions, huge choice - faultless.

The restaurant did a great breakfast and their evening menu was very impressive and seemed popular with the locals.

We found the staff to be rather surly both at dinner and at breakfast.

The other staters such as pate, and meatballs were also delicious.

On the positive side, As usual the food was tasty and plentiful albeit starting to get a little bit expensive for some of the menu choices.

Overall the hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable, food at breakfast and in the restaurant was very good and staff were very helpful.

A wonderful warm welcome, comfy room and delicious dinner.

The food was scrumptious and there was plenty of it, my shoulder of lamb was just delicious and my friends had the pork!

The  breakfast menu had a great choice, fruit juices, cereals, fruit and a choice of cooked breakfast, complete with toast, tea and coffee.

but then were told not to book again as our booking would not be accepted
After 10 years of going there, this is very bad business and we will not darken their doors again

The stairs up to the room are quite steep with a heavy locked door at the bottom.

but use the shared overflow car park next door as rear car park is limited & very cramped.

but we were next to the front door so heard guests coming and going all night.

Access to the rooms, all on the first floor are via small lobbies with code operated doors in tight spaces which make it difficult when getting your bags into the rooms.

although the bedroom was adequate it was very tiny, it contained a double bed, 2 bedside cabinets, a wardrobe and a chest of 3 draws with a small TV stood on it, there is only about 2 feet to walk around the bed and nowhere to keep a wheelchair or scooter except in the door way.

The result of doing this is that sometime after midnight there was very loud and persistent hammering at the door of the room in which I was staying.

Eventually we were shown our "room" which was cramped and offered the narrowest tiny single beds (we think they were child beds) ~ with en-suite facilities (the door to the en-suite did not close properly).

though it had been touched or cleaned for a long time.The most embarrassing thing for my Wife was the small en-suite it was impossible to close the door to gain any privacy a real let down for her.

Only downside was the folding door access to the (spotless) shower room/toilet, which it was not possible to close properly.

but built into the coffee shop next door.

Old fashioned furniture and curtains, very small bathroom with a door that doesn't close, room was on a main road the window was open and broken had to get someone to come and force it to close.

The only issue for us was the aforementioned door.

Only comment might be the shower room door which did not close propery- my partner and I were fine with this

It had a bifold door it wouldn't shut properly so when going to the toilet there was no privacy!

but only space to get a wheelchair just inside the door.

What they did not expect was a group of totally inconsiderate golfing guests who drank, shouted and laughed very loudly next door until 4-00am which made sleep for anyone else impossible.

We had 3 gripes - the bathroom door catches on the floor, nothing a small amount of sandpaper can't fix, and the noise from the radiator or cistern all night.

We made frequent use of the bar in the evenings; lots of very friendly locals.

We had drinks in the bar again very clean and welcoming, the lady behind the bar was very friendly chatty and professional.

The breakfast was good and the staff friendly and helpful.

The Staff are friendly and very efficient.

The head lady was extremely helpful and friendly.

Lovely hotel, room was large with large bathroom, spotlessly clean, staff very friendly, evening meal in the restaurant was excellent and so was the service, breakfast was freshly cooked and lots of it.

but the hotel held the rooms over for us for the revised dates and all communications before and during our stay were clear, friendly and attentive.

Our server (Australian lady) was most welcoming and friendly.

Receptionist was very friendly on checking in and showed us to our rooms which were in the nearby annex.

The staff are friendly and efficient and a special thanks to Lynn, who made us feel very welcome.

It’s so friendly, we ate here 3 times during our 6 day stay in a local cottage, the food is simply superb, served by such lovely people, Lynn was so good to us and made such a fuss of our dog too.

We had some food in the restaurant which was good, the bar area is contemporary and friendly plus breakfast was epic.

The room was very hot and noisy, set next to a main road,

but with the windows closed you didn’t hear it.

Also the owners seemed to have some sort of late night rowdy session on during the night which disrupted sleep.

We were a bit apprehensive about the 2* rating and some comments about noise.

I would have thought it would be a discounted room due to noise as not everyone can tolerate earplugs.

The earplugs left in our room now made sense.

What let this hotel for us was the room we had was very noisy, not only from the traffic

On reflection I would choose to stay in the annexe as our room, number 6, was above the bar and it was rather noisy at night, I should add that ear plugs are provided in the room.

Only negative thing was that it was a bit warm and when we opened the windows we did get a bit of noise from the fans and people saying goodnight at the end of the evening

The music didn't stop until 2am, and the last of the customers (who were extremely noisy) didn't leave until 3.25am.

She was shouting, swearing and abusing me to "get out of the hotel".

but were advised that this room can be very noisy and because we had originally requested early check in the larger room wasn't ready.

Despite asking for a quiet room, earplugs were provided as evidence of knowledge of noise in the rooms; annex rooms have air conditioning fans blasting behind the walls all day and into the night.

still waiting on the reply, this has nothing to do with the staff that was on duty over the weekend they were very friendly and helpful although i think Senior Management should look into some training for staff that is on duty should there be an accident in their hotel, we were never asked if we require an ambulance, a doctor, and we had to ask to fill in the accident book, as i said i havnt heard back from Senior Management

but some guests might be put off by the noise (very slight) from the bar below.

The room itself was very big with nice modern decor, the whole room was immaculate.

Couldn't fault the cleanliness and the room was perfect for an overnight stay.

We returned last weekend for one of their winter breaks and must say this is more than a 2 star hotel the rooms are spotless and the restaurant is superb the meals are  spot on,large portions served by pleasant staff.

Firstly I believe the 2* rating is somewhat unfair, the rooms were clean and tidy, beds comfortable and staff spot on.

The room was spotlessly clean and I have no complaints in that regard

We stayed in the snug a (little bungalow next door to the hotel with it’s own parking )this time around and we have to say we were not disappointed, lovely large bed and exceptionaly clean room.

Highly recommended place for a trip up the Northumberland coast.

It is about 10 to 15 minutes walk to the town and seafront.

Plenty of eating options in the village and beautiful beaches a stroll away.

The house is convenient for the town and the beach and is situated in a residential street, parking on the premises is limited

It was only a 15 minute stroll either to the beach , or into town .

Conveniently situated just off the coastal path and only a short walk to Seahouses for lunch provisions and evening meals.

The accommodation is about a 10 minute walk from the seafront in a nice residential area.

This part of the NE coast is Britain’s best kept secret.

There is off road parking and a short walk into town and the harbour.

Very quiet and pleasant location with easy stroll to beach or town.

Location-wise, it is just a short-walk to the centre of Seashouses and close to the beach, which is perfect for long walks with the dog.

A lovely bed and breakfast,very friendly and everything you need for a relaxing time.we were a group of 7.definatly go on boat trip to Farne Islands.Its a 15 minute walk to harbour

Beautiful clean room and fantastic choice of breakfast .10 minute walk to harbour via the heritage path ideal if you have dogs .

Couldn’t have been a better location to explore the Northumberland coast, with Bamburgh, Lindisfarne, Dunstanburgh and Alnwick all within 40mins.

Id say its about a 10 minute walk into the town centre and again the same distance to the beach.

It is a little in land from the coast, approx 15 min walk

The B and B is ideal for anyone looking to explore Seahouses and other villages along the coast.

We ( myself and 2 kids ) stayed at “the Olde School House” in Seahouses, in order to spend time on the Northumbria Coast -Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and Seahouses were our favourite places so far.

The beaches in the area are outstanding and not to mention the odd stunning castles!

When the host welcomed the guests in the next room, we could hear the conversation through the walls and also the guests above.

Only 1 very very very minor complaint is that the rooms could do with a tiny bit of soundproofing as we could hear every conversation our neighbours had.

Breakfast is served alongside the kitchen with a TV Soap blaring out, making normal conversation difficult.

Had the family room again which was wonderful.

Joan and her family could not have been more welcoming and friendly.

As always nothing is too much bother and we were in the family room (5). Smashing!

They have at least one family room with bunks.

The room was large and spacious comfortable a home from home

This is a lovely place to stay, immaculate rooms, lovely hostess Joan & family.

Lovely B & B , Joan & Andrew are really friendly and make you feel part of the family.

After two days we felt like friends of the family.

The family room myself, my husband and my son shared was big and comfortable, en suite bathroom great and the whole place very clean.

The owner (Joan) and her family and her family are very friendly and we - along with our dog Pepe - are made most welcome.

A one-night stay for our family four in a spacious, comfortable, clean room with en-suite.

The breakfast was fantastic and felt really homely Joan and her family made us and our little dog very welcome would highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

As usual, comfy and clean room with tea/coffee tray and fresh milk and water in fridge to help yourself to.

The rooms are well equipped with all that you need ,fresh milk and bottled water available on a fridge on the landing .

There was fresh milk and water in a communal fridge that you could help yourself to, which was a lovely touch.

Nice touches such as a guest fridge with plenty of complimentary fresh milk and chilled water.

Rooms have tea/coffee trays along with biscuits and fresh milk in the Guests fridge.

Another fantastic few days at this very quaint B&B , the room is very clean and tidy with a guest fridge available with bottled water and milk .

This hotel has a fabulous position overlooking the harbour and lovely outdoor drinks terrace looking out to the Farne Islands.

but the hotel's public areas open onto a sloping grassy terrace  where there are views of the coast and the pretty harbour.

The restaurant at Bamburgh Castle Inn offered fantastic views of the harbour.

The hotel is in a great location and our room was quiet, spacious, and had great views  of the harbour from the balcony.

The best thing about this Inn is it’s location, with excellent views over the harbour & sea, boat trips 2 minutes away, & excellent proximity to major visiting attractions.

I was pleasantly surprised we managed to get a really good table in the beer garden overlooking the harbour.

We only visited for a drink and asked if we could sit in the beer garden which we presumed had a good view of the harbour and sea.

Managed to get a booking for Dinner with a view of the harbour and again outstanding fresh fish.

The service was great and the pub menu food was tasty with the addition of fantastic views over the harbour.

We visited sea houses for a few night and went for drinks in the Bamburgh castle inn, the beer garden is very nice

Was told I wasn’t allowed to swap my garden peas for mushy peas.

We had booked a garden room as we had our dog with us.

We’ll be back as the views are amazing and we enjoy the garden.

but is the only way to enjoy the fantastic sea view which unfortunately includes the busy pub garden.

THE GOOD

Beer garden is fantastic, quality seating and incredable views.

There is also an outside beer garden with extensive sea views, if you prefer to dine or drink 'al fresco'.

There was plenty of space for us all and the garden was a bonus with the dogs

It was nice opening French doors and listening to sea, sea gulls and people chattering in the beer garden.

I had been fir a drink a couple of afternoons sitting in outside garden looking at amazing views.

Can’t wait to go back as it’s in a fabulous location right on the harbour and views are amazing … the beer garden is also fabulous view right over North Sea and of bamburgh castle

In fact I can’t recall a beer garden I’ve been to before that has such a great location.

We had a garden room spotlessly clean everything you needed.

It also had a view over the pub garden, which had a view into the room.

The dog friendly rooms were are located on the patio floor with access to the beer garden.

Hotel Staff we Absolutely Excellent, as twixt the Garden and Bar the Ran Free;
From early doors until past 11pm, they 'Ran Ragged' with Food and cups of Tea.

One small defect is that the hotel does have sufficient parking spaces for the number of rooms.

Parking is tricky as the hotel carpark is woefully inadequate for the number of guest rooms.

No2 - parking is limited and we always knew this

Parking is a challenge & we had to park in the pay & display car park across the road, so potentially factor this into your costing (£7.00 a day).

The problem was how long should we park for when we arrived at 4pm, Parking was free from 6pm until 8am,

On arrival we discovered they'd put us in an annexe room in the car park, with cars parked right outside the bedroom window.

In the interim I would hope that the management could be more candid  on their web site concerning their inadequate parking and their poor provision for providing their residents with food and drink.

We couldn't even get to park in the car park which when paying that price I expect to park my car in the hotel car park.

BUT if you couldn't get in you could park in the public car park which was ajacent and the hotel would refund parking.

Parking is a nightmare, very limited spaces.

Parking seemed to be problematic as very busy .
