Rooms were warm and comfortable for winter, there was a generator so we could at least watch TV and the breakfast the next morning was delicious.

We had dinner and breakfast which were both balanced and delicious.

Friendly and warm breakfast service accompanied by a stellar meal the next morning completed another awesome stay at this venue.

but the fillet stir fry we were given was delicious, with a very nice salad.

As a business destination it ticks all the boxes, the breakfast was particularly good.

Wifi was very good, and breakfast offered pretty much everything you could ask for.

The rest of the service was fine with bed and breakfast is highly recommended.

2. for the drinks maybe you can incorporate a voucher idea instead of guest having to go fetch they own drinks especially during cold days - with the voucher at least you can hand it over to the person bringing your food up to also bring you drinks.

The room and double bed is small and cold.

The ‘chapel’ - should have the roller blinds to keep out the wind / cold.

It was hot and I could not keep my water cold.

For supper, over the weekends, how about cold, light finger supper, to to nibble on, instead of going all the way to town to grab something to eat

The bathroom floor was so cold I couldn't stand on it for longer than a minute - put a mat down maybe??

Coming in from the cold someone thought about exactly that.

I had Chicken curry, and could barely eat it, was way too hot, no choices given if you prefer it hot or not
Breakfast was a bit disorganised, asking for hot milk for a coffee, took about 10 minutes, by then the coffee was already cold.

The beautifully tranquil and extremely well maintained surroundings, the exquisite and spotless rooms, the  professional and friendly staff, not to mention and best of all, some of the best meals I've had prepared for me, will no doubt, surpass the expectations of any well seasoned traveller, or just someone / couple looking for short and well deserved getaway.

Our family unit was spacious and well furnished with two bedrooms and a kitchenette.

There wasn't a door separating the bedroom from the bathroom so you could hear everything the other person was doing in the bathroom.

I was in a rear(forest) facing room - the room was in a need of some upkeep - for example large crack in basin - stable doors to toilet /shower was damaged/verge of pulling apart - large gaps in the door-to-outside and gaps between window and wal let a draft in - view out the window was of an untidy bamboo forest - in need of cleanup - this was just as well OK because it blocked the main road which was quite loud especially in the wee hours of night and morning.

Careful must be taken ,especially when opening the glass door,because I saw a snake just infront of the glass door Many thanks to you all ,especially the lady who was cleaning my room.

Though the saloon style bathrooms doors a bit quirky.

The lighting was poor and there was no closing door between the bed and the toilet.

However I would have preferred closed bathroom doors and not the stable door between the bedroom and bathroom.

When driving through the gates of Haggards, I thought I was in a Harry Potter Movie (the front gate is beautiful)
I would recommend this establishment to anyone travelling to Newcastle.

Cycle Tour / Dad's Tour 2016, Fantastic hospitality and stay.

Stayed at Haggards en-route to Durban on our Cycle Tour - great accommodation, good food and awesome staff that are willing to make their guests feel at home.

I liked the new girl, she was fun and took me on a tour of the place when I got there.

Newcastle is a nice town although not really on the tourist route - most of the guests were single business men -

Two minor nitpicks though: the walls were apparently quite thin because we heard our neighbors babbling away well into the night, then unfortunately one of the aircons just gave up.

In terms of toiletries you get a tiny soap and shampoo fixed onto the wall - thats it!

Going from 34 degrees to 2 degrees with heavy rain and snow resulted in our car slipping on black ice, hitting a dirt wall and landing on its side.

The shower in room 6 had a raised plastic base that had loosened from the wall.

TV is so high up on the wall you strain your neck trying to watch.

you charge a burger buffet R165 where as you have the same burger on your ordering menu for R70 no difference the quality is actually very poor.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Shebeen pub last fri evening with a few friends .the place is a true authentic irish pub.the owner came to our table for a few minutes.his charm and Irish wit really makes the place electric.

the hotel service and room is excellent, also service, cleanliness, location, sleep quality, parking is available and very safe with 24 hour security, toilets are , I am very happy with the entire environment particularly with friendly staff

but the hotel manage to keep my stay as comfortable and fun as possible , the room was good enough and much relaxing after a long day of work and back to back meetings, as for the entertainment its was exquisite much fun and good for a person my age, I really enjoyed my stay.

The room allocated was a recent refurbished room and everything was spot on.

I was in room 111, please just check the drainage system of the bathroom hand basin

but no one assisted, it was disgusting especially when brushing teeth as the waiter was not draining, floating it was disgusting

These guests then smoked in their room which filtered through to our room and filled our room with smoke.

He was out on a mine and due to the breakdown was filthy dirty, tired and fed up.

The other part leading to dinning hall people smoke a lot in this area and is very difficult to walk through.

We booked online on route to Newscastle as a last minute stay over - literally 1 hour before we arrived.

I do realize that the hotel cannot predict when there will be no water,

Lovely.. Only issue was room 114..could hear water flowing everytime other guests used their bath/toilet.

After a shower I nearly slipped and fell due to the water on the tiles.

It was hot when i arrived and i was welcomed with a cold water mixed with lemon.

Only one bottle of water offered for 5 day stay.

but the hot water in the shower ran out on me several times.

Rooms are looking old - showers need more water pressure or modern shower heads.

There is no bottle water in the rooms, it took 20minutes to get someone to bring us some.

I would like to have a bar fridge in the room for convenience sake and a bottle of water.

He made me to have a pleasant sleep by making sure I have three bottles of water to drink before I went to bed because they were no courtesy bottles at the time.

The lodge is extremely well priced and offers a great breakfast.

The breakfast absolute worth the money and cooked to perfection.

The breakfast was wonderful, good home style cooking and most enjoyable.

Breakfast was a treat : aside from the normal menu items, there was fresh banana bread, muffins, fresh fruit, good coffee and even an Easter egg!

The breakfasts are good as are the little extras - news paper and bed time chocolate.

hidden gem in a tranquil environment with vast spaces and a forest like garden.

The unit appeared to be recently renovated and the decor was warm and inviting.

Their new Tuscan styled rooms make you feel like a king, opulent and spoilt, a place to relax in the tranquil gardens and be comforted by the whisteling pine trees.

The room was spacious (allowing me to do my yoga) and nicely furnished.

The guest house is run very professionally by its owners and is located on the outskirts of town in a rural environment yet close to a large mall in case one runs out of toothpaste or climbing equipment.

I often stay at the farmhouse lodge and must say that the service I receive is always excellent and the atmosphere is pleasant.

Also some form of heater in the bathroom as it was very cold on 31 August.

Two rooms did not have showers, only bathtubs with a handheld shower.

Some rooms have shower and some bath/shower combination, state your preference.

If I showered in that water I would certainly have come out of the shower more dirty than when I went in.

We enjoyed our stay, farmstyle (it's a real farm with traces of sewage stink - keeping the bathroom door closed does the trick).

The bath was a joke with very low water pressure and brownish coloured water.
