The rooms are perfect comfortable beds u sleep like a baby good food clean warm well come the staff always checks out on u that are you still comfortable if you are not happy with the room you have they change the room and give you the one you are happy and comfortable with i just love the place ♥️

I was with friends for a overnight visit,The check staff were very helpful as we arrived  well before check in time and they did make us comfortable while the room was being cleaned, we had a good stay and would certainly return again

The room was clean, spacious and comes with a bar fridge.

I got 20% of my expected (minimal) value, let alone only being stocked with 2 towels (not bathsheets, just towels) for a 4 sleeping family room.

you charge a burger buffet R165 where as you have the same burger on your ordering menu for R70 no difference the quality is actually very poor.

Just because I arrived on a motorcycle does not give you the right to charge upfront!

but never a smile, never a word of welcome, just a warning that any other costs I incurred would be charged to my credit card.

I was given an upgrade to my room  at no extra charge .

The speedpoints (credit cards) at the bar were not connected.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Shebeen pub last fri evening with a few friends .the place is a true authentic irish pub.the owner came to our table for a few minutes.his charm and Irish wit really makes the place electric.

Good lights,not too bright and not too dark.

My check-out was almost clinical, and no apology, nor an explanation was offered to me.

I loved my stay there :) The scenery, environment and everything else was up to standard.

the hotel service and room is excellent, also service, cleanliness, location, sleep quality, parking is available and very safe with 24 hour security, toilets are , I am very happy with the entire environment particularly with friendly staff

but the hotel manage to keep my stay as comfortable and fun as possible , the room was good enough and much relaxing after a long day of work and back to back meetings, as for the entertainment its was exquisite much fun and good for a person my age, I really enjoyed my stay.

The room allocated was a recent refurbished room and everything was spot on.

Its os well build and beautiful design and yet very economic.

Friendly staff welcome me back at the Blackrock and I had a beautiful big room for 3 nights.

check in must be friendly and help people easy so that  they will enjoy their stay, because the time was check in was frustrated had problem of vouchers so had to stand myb an hour just to wait from Rennies send the vouchers.

Staff are always friendly and willing to assist.

however no porter service or assistance with ailing guests or elderly people will definitely have a negative impact on your services, otherwise very friendly staff all round.

I'm requesting them only to add fridge into all hotel rooms.

From the front dest?reception staff to room house keeping to dinner/breafast staff the service is very consistant.

I cannot find any fault with the room – all was in working order and the room size is aligned to any other 3-star hotel.

The ample parking space, The rooms are big enough and well maintained.

The lady who cleaned my room I think her name is Nobuhle/ Nomhle she did an outstanding job  until the end of my stay.

Rude staff upon arrival and they didn't have a smoking room

but the carpets there too was stained and filthy.

awkward with drunken people walking around and a lot of smoking smells everywhere.

Room 303 carpets very filthy , whilst showering water stops and mostly cold water coming out of shower.

The toiletries are at its minimum just one little bath soap and wash , shower had a awful smell .

For breakfast, on all the sausages, the one with periperi was fresh the rest was stale, I dished them

Rooms to the left of reception are quiet and do not smell smoke in the corridor!

I was in room 111, please just check the drainage system of the bathroom hand basin

the pillows had a funny smell making it difficult to sleep

but no one assisted, it was disgusting especially when brushing teeth as the waiter was not draining, floating it was disgusting

These guests then smoked in their room which filtered through to our room and filled our room with smoke.

He was out on a mine and due to the breakdown was filthy dirty, tired and fed up.

The other part leading to dinning hall people smoke a lot in this area and is very difficult to walk through.

> The tiles in the shower were not scrubbed properly as there was black residue in the corners that was floating around once it came in contact with the water.

We booked online on route to Newscastle as a last minute stay over - literally 1 hour before we arrived.

I do realize that the hotel cannot predict when there will be no water,

Lovely.. Only issue was room 114..could hear water flowing everytime other guests used their bath/toilet.

After a shower I nearly slipped and fell due to the water on the tiles.

It was hot when i arrived and i was welcomed with a cold water mixed with lemon.

Only one bottle of water offered for 5 day stay.

but the hot water in the shower ran out on me several times.

Rooms are looking old - showers need more water pressure or modern shower heads.

There is no bottle water in the rooms, it took 20minutes to get someone to bring us some.

The sink in the bathroom not draining water properly, I reported this

I would like to have a bar fridge in the room for convenience sake and a bottle of water.

He made me to have a pleasant sleep by making sure I have three bottles of water to drink before I went to bed because they were no courtesy bottles at the time.

Fantastic Accommodation - clean & comfortable.

The resort itself was very unique , beautiful and immaculate.

Neat and clean guest house, situated in a lovely area with lots of trees away from the noice in town yet less than 3km from the CBD.

the clean, spacious room, with Wi-Fi facilities and a coffee station was welcoming after a day on the road.

The facilities were great, linen clean and fresh.

The place is clean, the staff is the best.

Its definite value for money, rooms were clean and comfy.

Very neat and tidy and loved the honesty bar for refreshments.

The beautifully tranquil and extremely well maintained surroundings, the exquisite and spotless rooms, the  professional and friendly staff, not to mention and best of all, some of the best meals I've had prepared for me, will no doubt, surpass the expectations of any well seasoned traveller, or just someone / couple looking for short and well deserved getaway.

Clean with nice gardens and surroundings.

Maybe two or three options for supper would be great 
2. for the drinks maybe you can incorporate a voucher idea instead of guest having to go fetch they own drinks especially during cold days - with the voucher at least you can hand it over to the person bringing your food up to also bring you drinks.

The room and double bed is small and cold.

The ‘chapel’ - should have the roller blinds to keep out the wind / cold.

It was hot and I could not keep my water cold.

For supper, over the weekends, how about cold, light finger supper, to to nibble on, instead of going all the way to town to grab something to eat

The bathroom floor was so cold I couldn't stand on it for longer than a minute - put a mat down maybe??

Coming in from the cold someone thought about exactly that.

I had Chicken curry, and could barely eat it, was way too hot, no choices given if you prefer it hot or not
Breakfast was a bit disorganised, asking for hot milk for a coffee, took about 10 minutes, by then the coffee was already cold.

The ambience was awesome, staff were friendly.

Dinner was in a room with two others present, which made for a fairly depressing atmosphere.

best stay in Newcastle.a quiet setting with peaceful atmosphere.

Its just beautiful and has a calming atmosphere.

The room was very spacious with modern decor, clean white linen, and with all the amenities required for a business trip.

Our family unit was spacious and well furnished with two bedrooms and a kitchenette.

This was really an elegant stay at a truly remrkable establishment!

Has nice pool with comfortable surroundings and 'honesty' bar.

It was spacious and clean with nice décor.

There wasn't a door separating the bedroom from the bathroom so you could hear everything the other person was doing in the bathroom.

I was in a rear(forest) facing room - the room was in a need of some upkeep - for example large crack in basin - stable doors to toilet /shower was damaged/verge of pulling apart - large gaps in the door-to-outside and gaps between window and wal let a draft in - view out the window was of an untidy bamboo forest - in need of cleanup - this was just as well OK because it blocked the main road which was quite loud especially in the wee hours of night and morning.

Careful must be taken ,especially when opening the glass door,because I saw a snake just infront of the glass door Many thanks to you all ,especially the lady who was cleaning my room.

Though the saloon style bathrooms doors a bit quirky.

The lighting was poor and there was no closing door between the bed and the toilet.

However I would have preferred closed bathroom doors and not the stable door between the bedroom and bathroom.

The reception person was very helpful and friendly.

Friendly and warm breakfast service accompanied by a stellar meal the next morning completed another awesome stay at this venue.

When driving through the gates of Haggards, I thought I was in a Harry Potter Movie (the front gate is beautiful)
I would recommend this establishment to anyone travelling to Newcastle.

The meals (dinner must be arranged) were superb and when it turned cold the fireplace was lovely and cosy.

The food was incredible - be prepared to put on a few kilos during your stay!

but hopefully their food is good as well.

Excellent staff, from the time of making a booking to your arrival at reception, room service with home type meals and well trained staff.

The chicken pie and salad for dinner together with the mousse cake was out of this world

We had dinner and breakfast which were both balanced and delicious.

And the food was divine, I did not bring along ironed clothes, the laundry room assisted a lot for my stay.

When I booked dinner at 13h00 on a Tuesday .

If you can, try and get a room with a balcony like the log cabins so you can enjoy bird watching in comfort on your own while sipping a drink from the honesty bar.

Rooms were warm and comfortable for winter, there was a generator so we could at least watch TV and the breakfast the next morning was delicious.

Beverages station in the room was well stocked with quality products.

Even moved to another room to accommodate a better wifi signal to attend meetings online.

Warm welcome at Reception, most comfortable rooms, lovely gardens and surrounds and excellent breakfast.

I checked in and reception was polite, I was directed to my room which was referred to a log cabin.

The room was beautifully and tastefully furnished and the gardens took our breath away!

but still have wifi in the room, a desk with enough light to work comfortably, and a lovely hot shower.

The setting was tranquil and calming; the staff pleasant and helpful.

Checking in and out was professional and quick.

We had great time at Haggards the owner Lelanie is the best.

The Receptionist was charming and gave me a full run down on the establishment.

Stayed at Haggards en-route to Durban on our Cycle Tour - great accommodation, good food and awesome staff that are willing to make their guests feel at home.
