The AC unit was loud and no furniture on balcony,

For some reason, no matter how many times I changed the AC temperature, it would revert back to super cold.

The air con in the main bedroom broke twice  and when fixed it wasn’t working well and was very noisy !

We are not so the AC was just background noise.

The room temp was fully controlled by in-room thermostats.

Our air conditioning in the bedroom broke/flooded on the first night.

The air conditioning in the room makes such a noise that you cannot sleep well at night.

Food is so fresh and there are no stuffy waiters.

Once again it’s very old and the air conditioner proved that so be careful staying here in the summer.

however the radiator continued to make noise all night therefore I was unable to sleep well.

I’m not really a fan of boutique hotels and while there may be things to like, this hotel would not have been my first choice.

Also the rain shower head was also leaking, which meant if you were using the handheld shower freezing cold water would periodically drip directly on to you.

but no way to fully turn the fans off on the air con.

); no kettle provided; very noisy outside the hotel - even with the windows shut; very noisy air-conditioning and fridge.

The radiator ( this and the grumpy checkinstaff make it 4/5 and not 5/5) makes a lot of noise.

The AC was not working and I had to ask for maintenance to come late at night.

My only issues were a persistent, annoying clicking sound from our heat/AC unit which NEVER turned off despite us changing the settings numerous times and our room safe didn’t properly lock.

The only negative was the noisy road construction

There was street construction going on and it was LOUD and constant from 8am-12pm when we checked out.

Construction work across the road occurred late at night which was noisy!

It wasn't just the traffic- it was also the construction work that started at 7 am.

Unfortunately the view is of a building currently under construction

but it was across from a construction zone.

Traffic or construction noise did not affect my sleep at all.

That said, there is some noise from the construction over the road from the hotel, so if noise bothers you, ask for a room at the rear.

although the construction noise from across the street did wake me up at some unGodly hour (but hey.. it's New York City, right?).

However, the construction noise across the street is unbearable.

Only complaint was construction across the street.

One thing is an issue- there is construction directly across the street, which was as issue for me due to noise in the morning..

Amidst a noisy block thanks to major construction across the street, this place is a mix of hits and misses.

Don’t be put off by the construction across the street - it didn’t bother us one bit.

By October, the building was well under way, and construction noise was not even noticeable above the other city noises.

The midtown location works for me and I come into Manhattan frequently.

This is my favorite place to stay in Manhattan when I can get the right price.

If we're staying in Midtown each side Manhattan we will definitely be staying at the Kimberly again.

We decided to pick this one since it was in Manhattan and had a rooftop lounge.

The location was ideal for walking to several Manhattan attractions and restaurants, yet just East of the busier Time Square and congested traffic areas.

Walking distance to everything in Mid town Manhattan.

The Kimberly is well located in Midtown East Manhattan
We are acquainted with the neighborhood as we had a pied a terre that we gave up during the Pandemic

It is a short walk to 5th avenue

It is a quick crosstown bus or cab ride to the theatre district

Close to 2nd avenue which is loaded with restaurants & bars

The Kimberly itself has 3 excellent  dining rooms

Our room was quite spacious, clean & comfortable

The staff was super friendly & welcoming

The room was bigger than any of our daughter’s Manhattan apartments!

It is great to have a kitchen with coffeemaker and dishes and refrigerator in the heart of Manhattan.

My wife and I stay in Manhattan twice per month for mini getaways, we always stay at the best 5 star hotels in the city, one we love in particular is currently closed, so in my search for another place to stay we came across the Kimberly.

The hotel itself is great, very clean, up-kept and away from the noise versus being directly in manhattan.

I stayed for two nights in a one bedroom, two bath suite on the second floor that felt more like a suburban apartment than a hotel in a great part of Manhattan.

Bedroom is bigger than most Manhattan hotel rooms, bed is comfy and they have four pillows on bed - two fluffy and two firmer (I’m a high maintenance pillow chooser so I appreciated this).

This is a nice hotel in mid-town Manhattan, with a lovely roof-top lounge.

Regal furnishings, a kitchen and dining area, a lovely desk and in-room library, rainfall shower, and nightly turndown service made the room the best in which I've stayed in Manhattan.

We are locals and came into Manhattan to meet our visiting family and friends.

Located in the heart of Manhattan, the sweeping views of the city can be seen from every part of the spacious room and even more spacious balcony.

Not the cheapest hotel in Manhattan (with taxes, Junior Suite was $600/night),

Breakfast is served in the penthouse, good views and good choice of food.

The penthouse lounge was very nice and having Ess-a-bagel around the corner was a real bonus

We did eat at the penthouse restaurant upon arrival and it was okay

Don’t miss the penthouse bar and restaurant, which offers spectacular views of the surrounding area especially the Chrysler Building.

The penthouse bar is very nice and reasonably priced for NYC.

Breakfast in penthouse restaurant was amazing.

Upstairs on the penthouse level  you get a nice view and can enjoy drinks in the evening and breakfast.

Breakfast in the Penthouse was a treat with great food and views.

The penthouse bar is very nice as is the restaurant.

We (members of my team) also had a late afternoon social hour at the penthouse.

Food is superb, whether in the garden atmosphere of the Penthouse dining room or in-room dining; Ariane is simply the best with outstanding service and great with children!

From the doormen, to Sadie at check in, to Arian in the Penthouse restaurant, the service was impeccable.

but you can also go to the PentHouse to get to go coffee.

And don't forget the great breakfast in the penthouse restaurant each day.

Instead, I went to the penthouse in the afternoon occasionally for some free coffee, fruit, and pastries.

The staff at the Penthouse restaurant is equally as welcoming.

We took advantage of breakfast at Upstairs, their penthouse restaurant.

), the breakfast buffet on the penthouse level was delicious, the location was close to midtown and Broadway, and the service was wonderful.

We had brunch and drinks in th penthouse restaurant where the food was very good and the drinks were well made and very interesting.

The hotel is in a good location with lots of restaurants and shops, the hotel itself has a restaurant, rooftop bar and all the amenities.

location, views, rooftop bar and patio were awesome.

We loved how personable they were and the rooftop bar was an added treat.

Added bonus is it’s .5 mile walk to my best friend

The Kimberly is a charming boutique hotel conveniently located in the midtown east area of Manhattan at 50th and 3rd Ave. We visited the Upstairs rooftop bar several years ago and said when we go back - this is where we stay!

Oh… also enjoyed a glass of wine on the rooftop bar.

We didn't visit the Upstairs rooftop bar besides to check it out quick.

On roof top is a bar with foldable top so you can enjoy your breakfast or evening visit under open with beautiful view.

The roof top bar is nice and laid back with smoking section for the traveling smokers!! !

to the well appointed mini bar to cocktails at the Upstairs rooftop bar, we've thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

I loved the size of the rooms, the location of the property, the roof top bar and most importantly the friendliness of everyone employee we encountered.

The beds are comfortable and the rooftop bar is amazing.

The elevator is fast, the roof top bar/restaurant is absolutely lovely, and the staff is all so upbeat and happy!

We also enjoyed the rooftop bar immensely, great drinks and super tapas!

The front desk remembered us and and made us feel most welcome. Even the server on their marvelous rooftop bar and breakfast buffet greeted us with a yelp of, "You're back!"

The small bathroom has a bath/shower combination.

The bathroom was small and as a older couple, we found the small bathtub to be alittle too tall with a curved, rather slick bottom, so for us, this made our showers rather challenging because  we had to be very careful getting in and out of the tub or turning around in the shower.

We stayed in a very comfortable and roomy two bedroom suite.

The hotel itself is beautiful,  the suites are spacious , elegantly decorated and have balconies ( virtually unheard of in NYC).

We always get a one-bedroom suite which is spacious and comfortable.

My two adult sons and I stayed 8 nights in a spacious suite with 1brm ( 2 dbl s) and a large, comfortable sofa bed in the lounge.

Based on a tip from a friend, my 15 yo son and I spent 5 nights at this boutique hotel filled with fairly spacious suites, many with great views.

The suites are very spacious and immaculate.

I was a bit taken aback when on arrival, they took $300 dollars on our card (to be refunded tomorrow), given I'd paid in full through booking.com that seemed a little steep,

I asked for the beverage upon check out and she refused to give it to me without charge since it expired by midnight the day before.

You’ll get a daily  $100.00 charge for hotel amenities and they keep $47 of the $100.00.

but beware if you book this hotel you will be charged.

But it FAILED TO CLEARLY specify that the stated “total” did not include something called a “facility” charge — an additional$42/day/room which amounted to an additional 20% or $210 +taxes per room.

When I noticed the wrong rate had (yet again) been charged, I contacted the front desk via phone.

Now I am being charged over $1000 for a room I was unable to use.

They charge you for them ahead of time anyway.

I was pushed to provide other cards which I declined as I had evidence it had gone through and I didn’t want to keep authorising payments.

Pros:
- Large room for 2 people
- comfortable double bed
- $10 credit at the mini bar per day which can be used to obtain bottled water
- small kitchenette (not used much except to store water,

When we checked out and saw the charge we said we would give the bed back so they could take the charge off and they refused.

Cant really figure out the $10 credit to room each day which is not really much use to you .

Firstly Yellow taxi Manhattan to JFK charge a fixed fee of $52 plus toll, plus fee plus tip.

Only downside was the receptionist on check out who could have been a lot friendlier and explained the pre auth situation with our credit card without us having to ask, twice.

They made extremely large incorrect charges on my credit card, refused to assist and hung up on me when I tried to get information about these unapproved charges and reversals, and didn't care about helping me whatsoever despite the fact that I paid over 2K for a 10+day stay.

I was also charged for smoking in the room.

Now I've resorted to bringing extra long cords and extra plugs so that I'm able to charge my phone and watch (and that's luckily all I'm charging).

What will they charge for next, towels and electricity?

The king bedroom suite was so spacious and the kitchenette was a lifesaver for our length of stay with two kids.

We chose this hotel because of its size and because we were traveling with a teenager that wanted her privacy.

We booked the Benjamin for our 3 night stay, and chose it down to a combination of location and price, plus it had suites which would work best for our family (kids in separate room).

The suite we had was more than adequate for 2 adults and 2 teenagers.

Definitely check out the Terrace Suites - the extra room was perfect with our 11 year old son.

In NYC for a girls' weekend/birthday celebration and had a one bedroom suite king - VERY spacious for NYC with good sized bedroom and sitting area plus small kitchenette alcove - bathroom was typical NYC smaller size.

Me and my daughter had an amazing stay and exceeded every aspect of our stay. We just found a home (in New York) away from home (Los Angeles)

From pillow service to checking if everything was ok, to wishing my girls a Happy Birthday.

Our son and daughter-in-law are checking in at the end of the month.

I recently went to NY with my two teenager sons.

We had a warm welcome from all the staff, particularly those on the concierge who were very accommodating in changing one of our two rooms from a king size double to twin beds for our two sons.

We like 1 bedroom suites when we travel with our kids.

We were checked in promptly, greeted our son directly and every time they saw us they were sure to exchange pleasantries.

Housekeeping were excellent keeping the room spotless and tidy (with my daughter's stuffed toy always found cosy in bed when we returned).

We had done a lot of research prior to booking and the Benjamin ticked all the boxes regarding what we were after, as our 16yo son was with us we wanted a one bedroom suite.

We travelled here just before Christmas, a family of four with two teenagers for my daughters 18th.

but our fourth or fifth visit to The Benjamin, this time with children and grandchildren, could not have gone any smoother.

A great size closet and so interesting art around the building.

Nice size room with tea and coffee facilities that were filled every day.

First the pros:

The one bedroom king suite was a great size for 3 adults.

The kitchen was well equipped with a full size fridge with decent size freezer - just used the fridge though.

The bathroom was a decent size with a step-in bath and shower.

Our room was about average size for New York, which is not that large,

The suite had a full kitchenette (with sink, microwave, full refrigerator and freezer, dishes, etc), and a seperate living room and bedroom, both of which were comfortable, tastefully appointed and a nice size.

The room was a good size for New York with a comfortable bed.

We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the room (Queen) and quality of furnishings e.g bedding.

but all are above average size for a midtown hotel.

The rooms were very well appointed and of a good size by city standards.

I did appreciate the larger than average size of the room, windows that open and the high thread count quality bedsheets.

We had a 1 bedroom suite that had a separate lounge area with fold out couch, and the room sizes were good, large bathroom.The wifi worked well.The hotel has an old world charm to it.

The closet, bathroom and kitchen seemed to be the same size as a regular room from what I could recall from our first stay.

The suite was perfect in size, well kept my housekeeping and quiet.

The hotel itself , restaurant and main bar closed with no signs of opening, and hotel covered with scaffolding so initially wasn’t a great look

The room decor itself was rather dated, the bathroom was worn with the plug not working in the bath, the shower itself was small and awkward to use.

The bathroom is tiny, it takes a long time the hot water to arrive.

The hotel is older, not very clean and the rooms have incredibly small bathrooms.

Small bathroom, bed not the best, and a/c hard to control and loud.

but only one small bathroom for the 4 of us.

The only odd thing was the door to the bedroom backed up to the door of the bathroom..  Bathroom was rather small,

but the bathroom was small and the living room had terrible old and ugly furniture.

While our suite overall was quite large, the bathroom was tiny, even by New York standards.

So after the first difficult night, we came up with this procedure to actually sleep:

- Move the clock to the bathroom (the bathroom is too small to leave it there) and turn on the night light.

Bathroom is way too small and terrace is a joke!

I had a very spacious bedroom with a tiny bathroom.

Only downside is the bathroom was a bit small,

The king size bedroom is so spacious that will satisfy all your needs.

The bedroom are spacious and the small kitchen in our suite were a great plus.

I love everything about the Benjamin, the location, service, pillows, spacious suites and price.

The staff was attentive, my suite was spacious, and the Elemis bath products in the bathrooms were an added bonus!

The hotel room was very clean and was an amazingly spacious suite for a New York hotel.
