The AC unit was loud and no furniture on balcony,

For some reason, no matter how many times I changed the AC temperature, it would revert back to super cold.

The air con in the main bedroom broke twice  and when fixed it wasn’t working well and was very noisy !

We are not so the AC was just background noise.

The room temp was fully controlled by in-room thermostats.

Our air conditioning in the bedroom broke/flooded on the first night.

The air conditioning in the room makes such a noise that you cannot sleep well at night.

Food is so fresh and there are no stuffy waiters.

Once again it’s very old and the air conditioner proved that so be careful staying here in the summer.

however the radiator continued to make noise all night therefore I was unable to sleep well.

I’m not really a fan of boutique hotels and while there may be things to like, this hotel would not have been my first choice.

Also the rain shower head was also leaking, which meant if you were using the handheld shower freezing cold water would periodically drip directly on to you.

but no way to fully turn the fans off on the air con.

); no kettle provided; very noisy outside the hotel - even with the windows shut; very noisy air-conditioning and fridge.

The radiator ( this and the grumpy checkinstaff make it 4/5 and not 5/5) makes a lot of noise.

The AC was not working and I had to ask for maintenance to come late at night.

My only issues were a persistent, annoying clicking sound from our heat/AC unit which NEVER turned off despite us changing the settings numerous times and our room safe didn’t properly lock.

The rooms were so neat and absolutely stunning.

but it is clean and comfortable with all expected amenities, an excellent full breakfast included, and very helpful, friendly staff.

We did the King suite-very clean, comfy bed.

The rooms and common areas were very clean.

Hotel looks and feels clean and cozy.Room was well stocked and all we expected.

The subway station is 25 yards away, fast for downtown visits: Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, Brooklyn bridge, World Trade Center, etc…
The hotel is calm, very clean and confortable, with excellent bed and choice of pillows.

Crisp soft sheets, fantastic shower pressure, great location, clean lobby and room.

but if you want extreme luxury and impeccable service, this is the hotel for you.

The location is outstanding and  the rooms are always clean.

The room is spacious, clean, and fully equipped.

but I found it difficult to wash and rinse my hair regardless of the very nice  (handheld) shower head option.

The beds are comfortable, the room is tidy - and all of the staff are helpful.

Great clean hotel in the middle of everything

The room was very clean and well attended to.

The only negative was the noisy road construction

There was street construction going on and it was LOUD and constant from 8am-12pm when we checked out.

Construction work across the road occurred late at night which was noisy!

It wasn't just the traffic- it was also the construction work that started at 7 am.

Unfortunately the view is of a building currently under construction

but it was across from a construction zone.

Traffic or construction noise did not affect my sleep at all.

That said, there is some noise from the construction over the road from the hotel, so if noise bothers you, ask for a room at the rear.

although the construction noise from across the street did wake me up at some unGodly hour (but hey.. it's New York City, right?).

However, the construction noise across the street is unbearable.

Only complaint was construction across the street.

One thing is an issue- there is construction directly across the street, which was as issue for me due to noise in the morning..

Amidst a noisy block thanks to major construction across the street, this place is a mix of hits and misses.

Don’t be put off by the construction across the street - it didn’t bother us one bit.

By October, the building was well under way, and construction noise was not even noticeable above the other city noises.

The midtown location works for me and I come into Manhattan frequently.

This is my favorite place to stay in Manhattan when I can get the right price.

If we're staying in Midtown each side Manhattan we will definitely be staying at the Kimberly again.

We decided to pick this one since it was in Manhattan and had a rooftop lounge.

The location was ideal for walking to several Manhattan attractions and restaurants, yet just East of the busier Time Square and congested traffic areas.

Walking distance to everything in Mid town Manhattan.

The Kimberly is well located in Midtown East Manhattan
We are acquainted with the neighborhood as we had a pied a terre that we gave up during the Pandemic

It is a short walk to 5th avenue

It is a quick crosstown bus or cab ride to the theatre district

Close to 2nd avenue which is loaded with restaurants & bars

The Kimberly itself has 3 excellent  dining rooms

Our room was quite spacious, clean & comfortable

The staff was super friendly & welcoming

The room was bigger than any of our daughter’s Manhattan apartments!

It is great to have a kitchen with coffeemaker and dishes and refrigerator in the heart of Manhattan.

My wife and I stay in Manhattan twice per month for mini getaways, we always stay at the best 5 star hotels in the city, one we love in particular is currently closed, so in my search for another place to stay we came across the Kimberly.

The hotel itself is great, very clean, up-kept and away from the noise versus being directly in manhattan.

I stayed for two nights in a one bedroom, two bath suite on the second floor that felt more like a suburban apartment than a hotel in a great part of Manhattan.

Bedroom is bigger than most Manhattan hotel rooms, bed is comfy and they have four pillows on bed - two fluffy and two firmer (I’m a high maintenance pillow chooser so I appreciated this).

This is a nice hotel in mid-town Manhattan, with a lovely roof-top lounge.

Regal furnishings, a kitchen and dining area, a lovely desk and in-room library, rainfall shower, and nightly turndown service made the room the best in which I've stayed in Manhattan.

We are locals and came into Manhattan to meet our visiting family and friends.

Located in the heart of Manhattan, the sweeping views of the city can be seen from every part of the spacious room and even more spacious balcony.

Not the cheapest hotel in Manhattan (with taxes, Junior Suite was $600/night),

Breakfast is served in the penthouse, good views and good choice of food.

The penthouse lounge was very nice and having Ess-a-bagel around the corner was a real bonus

We did eat at the penthouse restaurant upon arrival and it was okay

Don’t miss the penthouse bar and restaurant, which offers spectacular views of the surrounding area especially the Chrysler Building.

The penthouse bar is very nice and reasonably priced for NYC.

Breakfast in penthouse restaurant was amazing.

Upstairs on the penthouse level  you get a nice view and can enjoy drinks in the evening and breakfast.

Breakfast in the Penthouse was a treat with great food and views.

The penthouse bar is very nice as is the restaurant.

We (members of my team) also had a late afternoon social hour at the penthouse.

Food is superb, whether in the garden atmosphere of the Penthouse dining room or in-room dining; Ariane is simply the best with outstanding service and great with children!

From the doormen, to Sadie at check in, to Arian in the Penthouse restaurant, the service was impeccable.

but you can also go to the PentHouse to get to go coffee.

And don't forget the great breakfast in the penthouse restaurant each day.

Instead, I went to the penthouse in the afternoon occasionally for some free coffee, fruit, and pastries.

The staff at the Penthouse restaurant is equally as welcoming.

We took advantage of breakfast at Upstairs, their penthouse restaurant.

), the breakfast buffet on the penthouse level was delicious, the location was close to midtown and Broadway, and the service was wonderful.

We had brunch and drinks in th penthouse restaurant where the food was very good and the drinks were well made and very interesting.

The hotel is in a good location with lots of restaurants and shops, the hotel itself has a restaurant, rooftop bar and all the amenities.

location, views, rooftop bar and patio were awesome.

We loved how personable they were and the rooftop bar was an added treat.

Added bonus is it’s .5 mile walk to my best friend

The Kimberly is a charming boutique hotel conveniently located in the midtown east area of Manhattan at 50th and 3rd Ave. We visited the Upstairs rooftop bar several years ago and said when we go back - this is where we stay!

Oh… also enjoyed a glass of wine on the rooftop bar.

We didn't visit the Upstairs rooftop bar besides to check it out quick.

On roof top is a bar with foldable top so you can enjoy your breakfast or evening visit under open with beautiful view.

The roof top bar is nice and laid back with smoking section for the traveling smokers!! !

to the well appointed mini bar to cocktails at the Upstairs rooftop bar, we've thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

I loved the size of the rooms, the location of the property, the roof top bar and most importantly the friendliness of everyone employee we encountered.

The beds are comfortable and the rooftop bar is amazing.

The elevator is fast, the roof top bar/restaurant is absolutely lovely, and the staff is all so upbeat and happy!

We also enjoyed the rooftop bar immensely, great drinks and super tapas!

The rooms are comfortable, the rooftop bar is fun (and has great views of important buildings), the location can’t beat and the staff are friendly.

The front desk remembered us and and made us feel most welcome. Even the server on their marvelous rooftop bar and breakfast buffet greeted us with a yelp of, "You're back!"

We visited the bar “Upstairs” rooftop bar, it had breathtaking views over the city.

The small bathroom has a bath/shower combination.

The bathroom was small and as a older couple, we found the small bathtub to be alittle too tall with a curved, rather slick bottom, so for us, this made our showers rather challenging because  we had to be very careful getting in and out of the tub or turning around in the shower.

with a refrigerator, tiny sink and microwave.

The bedroom and the sitting room (with the sofa bed) both had doors so we could all have our privacy, and the bathroom was off the small entryway, so we didn't have to traverse each other's rooms to use it.

Relative to the rest of the suite, the bathroom was on the small side (one sink, shower/tub combination)

Only the bathroom was very small in comparison to the rest of the room.

The not so good things are: bathroom was very small for 3 people (and the room could hold six people!

Bathroom was small and had strange water pressure that required seemingly-constant adjustment.

I booked a suite in February 2023 for a 6 night stay over the new year for my daughter's 13th birthday.

We were welcomed back and offered a wonderful suite that met our needs for relaxation and business.

Perfect when staying with more than 2 people as the suites offer great privacy.

Had a wonderful stay in a one bedroom suite with a balcony.

We chose the 1 bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms which was great.

The luxury suite was huge for NYC and so comfy.

Our suite has a large (30' x 14') living room which includes a small kitchenette (with a fridge, microwave, and even a dishwasher), and a slightly smaller bedroom with two queen beds.

I enjoy the space provided with the suites.

Our suite was spacious and the balcony was a special treat.

If you upgrade to the suite, it feels like you have your own apartment right in the city.

The Kimberly is beautiful hotel and our room (2 bedroom suite) was very spacious and well appointed.

The suite was comfortable, clean and nicely appointed.

The location was perfect, the suite gorgeous, the bedding so comfortable, and the staff friendly and knowledgeable!!

There was a small mix-up with the reservation, the staff told us to have a complimentary coffee and pastry while it was sorted, when we returned the room was upgraded to a suite.

I enjoyed my 1 bedroom suite which had a balcony and a small kitchen.

We were pleased with our very spacious and clean one bedroom suite with separate living area and sofa bed.

The beds were comfortable, great location with the friendliest staff and cleanest rooms I've ever had!

We have an extremely clean and well kept suite, with a large bedroom, a dining area, a living area with pullout couch for our teen, a kitchenette, and a spacious bathroom.

Lovely boutique hotel with spacious and clean rooms  and good wifi.

Hotel was clean and comfortable and perfectly located—away from hustle and bustle

Beds were very comfortable, AC worked well, and everything was clean.

but found everything clean and housekeeping came everyday.

The room was fresh and clean for us every morning as soon as we got out after enjoying coffee that was provided in our kitchenette.

San Carlos Hotel is a great hotel with spacious and clean rooms.

The room was made every day and very clean.

In addition be aware that there is construction going on next door - we were on the farther side of the building

however there is construction works happening next door to the hotel.

** Note that there was construction on the street, so there may be some noise if you stay on the front side of the hotel.

The only downfalls were our window faced an alley/brick wall (but I imagine if you pay for a more deluxe suite you would get a better view, we had a basic 2 queen bed room), and the construction of the Waldorf-Astoria next door which could be noisy at times.

The attached restaurant/coffee shop was under construction, a fact which I would have liked to know when I made the reservation.

All in all couldn't fault it, just a little noisy at times from the construction work next door.

There was construction site right next to hotel, so if you are a light sleeper, ask a room from another side of the construction.

but right now on the west side of the building there is a major construction project going on and will be for years I think.

When I first arrived, I was given a small room overlooking a construction site.

Noisy because of the construction area next door for the moment.

but there is construction going on next door.

There is construction on the E line on weekends

Another traveler alert:  The Blue Line subway was closed from Friday nights to Monday mornings due to construction and will be for months.

Hopefully when we plan our next visit the construction will be further  along.

There is intermittent construction that starts early in the morning for the building next door.

Our first stay in this hotel with family and grandchildren.

Traveled with family (another adult and 2 little girls), they were warm and accommodating, I will definitely stay here the next time we are in NYC!

You're filling a huge need in the city, and making it so families.

Great space for family during an NYC weekend!

My family and I have been to many hotels in Manhattan and we will never forget our experience at this hotel.

This hotel was a great option for my family.

All in all, I would absolutely stay here again next time I am in NYC for business, and I'm sure it's a great hotel for families as well.

We spent 4 nights in a Premier Elite Suite with King bed with 1 ½ bath and it was perfect for our family of three.

The rooms are plenty big for a family of five and provide an understated luxury. .

My family enjoyed a 4 night stay at the San Carlos, Manhattan NYC.

I took my family to NYC for a long weekend.

We all slept well, family of 4 with 2 teenagers.Best hotel!

Our favorite is Suite 611 every year for our Christmas in the city with our family.

The San Carlos was a wonderful place to stay with a family.

I planned a family gathering in NYC and despite my pretty extensive knowledge of the City, I was struggling to find a hotel that was in the “right” location and had accommodations that would work for all 12 of us- families with kids, couples etc.

We spent a long weekend at this wonderful hotel in the heart of Midtown Manhattan.
