And despite being on the 8th floor, with the air conditioner running, I could still hear noise from the street.

One minor issue was that the Aircon was loud

The place itself was interesting - a converted old apartment building, with some very old systems still in place - physical keys instead of key cards, and no thermostat in the room.

Day 3 - Went to heat up water in the kettle for tea, it was filled with mold - replaced with an insincere apology

Day 4 - The  room was so hot and there was no way to turn the radiator off.

There was no thermostat in the room and upon calling, we were told there was nothing they could do about it.

Room did not come with an AC and we had to call for one to be installed.

Our 8 night stay didn't start too well as the room was so noisy with single glazing and the aircon unit in the window which meant we heard every single sound from outside.

Accommodation was a bit dated and as there was no heating in the bathroom so it was freezing and there was ice on the inside of the bathroom window.

Air conditioning is a window unit; it can be noisy during rain, when drips hit the unit.

The air conditioner can be a bit noisy when turned on initially and being close to Times Square, street noise can be heard.

When we checked out the gentlemen at the front desk informed us that they could have changed out the heater for an AC unit for us if we needed.

but the noise of construction made it impossible to sleep and they started early plus the heaters in the room make this annoying loud popping sounds every time they come on.

The old A/C units are noisy, they were installed without proper insulation, and when it rains the rain drops make a terrible noise when they hit the metal plate on the top of the A/C.

The window-unit A/C was kinda noisy, as was the active construction site behind the hotel.

The only thing I don’t like is the air conditioner is very loud.

All the staff were impeccable..would 100% stay again.

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment, it was clean, comfortable and well equipped.

Everything in the room worked, was clean.

We had a clean one bedroom apartment with kitchen and with 2 teenagers was great to have a little more space.

The room was clean and having a kitchen was so convenient due to my dietary restrictions.

Hotel was clean and beds were comfortable.

Apartments are very clean and has a handy kitchenette with everything you would need would definitely stay here again.

The location was excellent for Times Square and Broadway, with a subway station about 30 yards from the front door was a great location for sightseeing.

We chose Radio City Apartments to stay in New York because of the location being a few minutes walk from Rockefeller Center and a short walk to Broadway / Times Square in the other direction.

It is in a very busy area with scaffolding in front and construction noise is awful.

Just as you are dropping off to sleep the noise starts up and lasts about 15 minutes then silence.

One overhead horrible light and one bedside lamp lines for the2 small elevators all the time.

But since it was 20 degrees outside I'd rather have noise then freeze.

Yes, it is old, it is small, and there is a lot of noise from area construction and night-time revelry.

It is a bit noisy given the location and construction activity that was going on next door.

There is building work round the one side which is very noisy

There is construction going on around the building, so you do hear some noise.

However what was not shared was that a new building was going up beside you - eye level to fifth floor at present and the noise at start up early in morning was unbelievably loud and unacceptable - no mention made at checkin or at booking and to me this should have been an essential .

No light came in and the street noise was LOUD.

Our only complaints were there was no visible way for us to control our own heating/ cooling and the windows were not well insulated, meaning you could hear every street noise from the 8th floor.

Staff is extremely friendly and responsive..  hotel is dated..  walls paper thin, street noise very loud prob windows and insulation very weak..  and elevators very slow, and since no service elevator housekeeping and maintenance also use guest elevators.

I'm not naive and have been to New York many times and know how noisy it is

we didnt hear any noise from other guests, no door banging, no chatting, nothing.

Minutes to Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Madison Square Garden and a short subway ride to 911 Memorial and Battery Park for Statue of Liberty Cruises.

It couldn’t be a better location in NYC… one block from Rockefeller Center/5th Avenue, only three blocks from Times Square, theaters at Broadway and good restaurants.

Location was perfect, very close to Times Square and Rockefeller Center.

We found a great place that is a short walking distance to the subway, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and places to eat.

All this close to the theater district, Rockefeller Center, the subway, restaurants, and a grocery store.

Staff were helpful and the location is unbeatable - 5 minutes walk to Times Square in one direction and Rockefeller Center in the other direction.

Very close to Radio City Music Hall and all the Rockefeller Center Comples,  Times Square about  two blocks away.

Close to many subway locations (various lines) Times Square, 5th Avenue, Rockefeller Center  were all in minutes to the hotel.

Times Square & Rockefeller Center are both within a 5-10 minute walk, all the Broadway theaters are within a 10-15 minute walk and Central Park is about a 40-45 minute walk away.

The location was perfect - right between Times Square area and Rockefeller Center.

Close to Rockefeller Center, Times Square, and numerous theaters.

Radio City Apartments is located right between Rockefeller Center and Times Square on 49th St. Short walk to theater and shopping.

Despite the good location, the place is old and smells musty, with very rude service, especially towards foreigners.

The rooms are cramped and because many have small kitchens the smell of cooking is everywhere and unpleasant.

although you expect the sights and smells of a city to be around you, our apartment had an all pervading smell of fried onions and burgers that did not diminish even when we completed the 'maintenance form' left in the room.

but there were some odd smells in the hallways and the door to the room wasn't very thick.

But if the room is too hot (or filled with noxious fumes), the shower too cold, the teapot too moldy, and a front desk clerk who is completely unsympathetic… it’s time to sell to a new owner or close down.

About midnight of 1st night, we smelled electric burn smell.

Lastly, upon checking in to the hotel, they take a $250 deposit in case of broken items, smoking in the room, etc.

In the next day we left air conditionig  ON, and when we came back a terrible kitchen oil smell spread in the room!

Toilets were absolutely disgusting and we refused to check in after being spoken to, or should i say shouted at, on arrival.

The place was filthy dirty, toilets were absolutely disgusting which I won’t go into detail.

We were on the 12th Floor - and I think the renovations were happening right above us - so we had some smell in the hallways of paint (but never smelled it in our room).

During that night my sister sleeping outside on the pull out bed was coughing all night, the next day when the cleaner lady came in we asked if they could smell gas and she could get it straight away.

They really buoyed our spirits after a nasty yellow cab driver tried to rip us off on our way back from JFK.

We struggled somewhat to find out how the lock worked, and whenever the AC was off the room smelled a bit from the pasta restaurant down below (our window faced the back alley),

It is cramped, old with no lobby and with a screechy, smelly, old and cramped elevator (only one functioning) that takes forever to work.

It was stinking of musty carpet and rang of noisy air conditioning and was clearly close to a restaurant because you would have thought the food was being cooked there!

Also beware of the 250 dollars deposit they want if you pick non smoking as in a previous post .

As soon as you stepped onto your floor, there was a very strange smell, almost like a mildew smell, which carried all the way through to your apartment.

however no one checked the room first to see if it smelled of smoke, so really what was the point.

It's a shame that they allow smoking in some rooms.

The hotel was amazing for 2 main reasons: location (right next to Times Square) and space (2 bedrooms with a living room/open kitchen and one bathroom).

The separate bedroom was great for some privacy.

We had a two bedroom apartment and it was fabulous.

The apartment immediately felt spacious with an open-plan kitchen diner setup, the bedrooms

The bedroom and lounge were both good size.

Spent 3 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment- which was stocked with everything we needed.

The room is equipped with a kitchenette which includes a full-size refrigerator, gas stove, cookware, coffee pot, tea kettle and microwave.

The positives:

The apartment was clean and the location is right by Times Square and the deluxe studio has a kitchenette with refrigerator, stove and a small round table with two chairs, which can be very useful.

We had a 2 bedroom apartment and the sofa bed for 5 of us which was great a full double and 2 queen size beds.

We had a large one bedroom with two double beds that were reasonably comfortable , TV and dresser  in the bedroom.

Very clean with spacious bedroom & large comfy bed, bathroom & lounge with dining area and a more than adequate kitchenette.

Our two bedroom apartment was clean comfortable.

The price for the 2 bedroom apartment was very reasonable by NYC standards.

Our 2x Queen 1 bedroom was great for our family.

We had a bedroom, dining room/living room, kitchen and large bathroom.

The bedroom was a decent size with TV, Air con , hanging rail, iron /ironing board, dressing table with large drawers,   bedding clean, beds comfy!

The AC unit was loud and no furniture on balcony,

For some reason, no matter how many times I changed the AC temperature, it would revert back to super cold.

The A/C in our room never cooled the room.

We are not so the AC was just background noise.

The room temp was fully controlled by in-room thermostats.

Our air conditioning in the bedroom broke/flooded on the first night.

The air conditioning in the room makes such a noise that you cannot sleep well at night.

Food is so fresh and there are no stuffy waiters.

Once again it’s very old and the air conditioner proved that so be careful staying here in the summer.

however the radiator continued to make noise all night therefore I was unable to sleep well.

I’m not really a fan of boutique hotels and while there may be things to like, this hotel would not have been my first choice.

Also the rain shower head was also leaking, which meant if you were using the handheld shower freezing cold water would periodically drip directly on to you.

but no way to fully turn the fans off on the air con.

The radiator ( this and the grumpy checkinstaff make it 4/5 and not 5/5) makes a lot of noise.

The AC was not working and I had to ask for maintenance to come late at night.

My only issues were a persistent, annoying clicking sound from our heat/AC unit which NEVER turned off despite us changing the settings numerous times and our room safe didn’t properly lock.

The rooms were so neat and absolutely stunning.

but it is clean and comfortable with all expected amenities, an excellent full breakfast included, and very helpful, friendly staff.

We did the King suite-very clean, comfy bed.

The rooms and common areas were very clean.

Hotel looks and feels clean and cozy.Room was well stocked and all we expected.

The subway station is 25 yards away, fast for downtown visits: Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, Brooklyn bridge, World Trade Center, etc…
The hotel is calm, very clean and confortable, with excellent bed and choice of pillows.

Crisp soft sheets, fantastic shower pressure, great location, clean lobby and room.

but if you want extreme luxury and impeccable service, this is the hotel for you.

The location is outstanding and  the rooms are always clean.

The room is spacious, clean, and fully equipped.

but I found it difficult to wash and rinse my hair regardless of the very nice  (handheld) shower head option.

The beds are comfortable, the room is tidy - and all of the staff are helpful.

The only negative was the noisy road construction

There was street construction going on and it was LOUD and constant from 8am-12pm when we checked out.

Construction work across the road occurred late at night which was noisy!

It wasn't just the traffic- it was also the construction work that started at 7 am.

Unfortunately the view is of a building currently under construction

but it was across from a construction zone.

Traffic or construction noise did not affect my sleep at all.

That said, there is some noise from the construction over the road from the hotel, so if noise bothers you, ask for a room at the rear.

although the construction noise from across the street did wake me up at some unGodly hour (but hey.. it's New York City, right?).

Only complaint was construction across the street.

One thing is an issue- there is construction directly across the street, which was as issue for me due to noise in the morning..

Amidst a noisy block thanks to major construction across the street, this place is a mix of hits and misses.

Don’t be put off by the construction across the street - it didn’t bother us one bit.

By October, the building was well under way, and construction noise was not even noticeable above the other city noises.

The midtown location works for me and I come into Manhattan frequently.

This is my favorite place to stay in Manhattan when I can get the right price.

If we're staying in Midtown each side Manhattan we will definitely be staying at the Kimberly again.

We decided to pick this one since it was in Manhattan and had a rooftop lounge.

The location was ideal for walking to several Manhattan attractions and restaurants, yet just East of the busier Time Square and congested traffic areas.

Walking distance to everything in Mid town Manhattan.

The Kimberly is well located in Midtown East Manhattan
We are acquainted with the neighborhood as we had a pied a terre that we gave up during the Pandemic

It is a short walk to 5th avenue

It is a quick crosstown bus or cab ride to the theatre district

Close to 2nd avenue which is loaded with restaurants & bars

The Kimberly itself has 3 excellent  dining rooms

Our room was quite spacious, clean & comfortable

The staff was super friendly & welcoming

The room was bigger than any of our daughter’s Manhattan apartments!

It is great to have a kitchen with coffeemaker and dishes and refrigerator in the heart of Manhattan.

My wife and I stay in Manhattan twice per month for mini getaways, we always stay at the best 5 star hotels in the city, one we love in particular is currently closed, so in my search for another place to stay we came across the Kimberly.

The hotel itself is great, very clean, up-kept and away from the noise versus being directly in manhattan.

I stayed for two nights in a one bedroom, two bath suite on the second floor that felt more like a suburban apartment than a hotel in a great part of Manhattan.

Bedroom is bigger than most Manhattan hotel rooms, bed is comfy and they have four pillows on bed - two fluffy and two firmer (I’m a high maintenance pillow chooser so I appreciated this).

This is a nice hotel in mid-town Manhattan, with a lovely roof-top lounge.

Regal furnishings, a kitchen and dining area, a lovely desk and in-room library, rainfall shower, and nightly turndown service made the room the best in which I've stayed in Manhattan.

We are locals and came into Manhattan to meet our visiting family and friends.

Located in the heart of Manhattan, the sweeping views of the city can be seen from every part of the spacious room and even more spacious balcony.

Not the cheapest hotel in Manhattan (with taxes, Junior Suite was $600/night),

Breakfast is served in the penthouse, good views and good choice of food.

The penthouse lounge was very nice and having Ess-a-bagel around the corner was a real bonus

We did eat at the penthouse restaurant upon arrival and it was okay

Don’t miss the penthouse bar and restaurant, which offers spectacular views of the surrounding area especially the Chrysler Building.

The penthouse bar is very nice and reasonably priced for NYC.

Breakfast in penthouse restaurant was amazing.

Upstairs on the penthouse level  you get a nice view and can enjoy drinks in the evening and breakfast.

Breakfast in the Penthouse was a treat with great food and views.

The penthouse bar is very nice as is the restaurant.

We (members of my team) also had a late afternoon social hour at the penthouse.

Food is superb, whether in the garden atmosphere of the Penthouse dining room or in-room dining; Ariane is simply the best with outstanding service and great with children!

From the doormen, to Sadie at check in, to Arian in the Penthouse restaurant, the service was impeccable.
