Literally from door to door only 10m minutes.

Having read the some of the previous reviews, I will agree that construction next door does mean we have seen a few rats running around at night (to be clear- on the street.

I asked her for a wake up call because I had an early meeting and when I didn't hear the phone ring she actually went up and knocked on my door!

I could even hear the room next door use the toilet.

The footprint of the hotel is very small, meaning that every room is right at the elevator so you will constantly have the sounds of people coming and going outside your door.

I cannot say if this is characteristic of all rooms in the hotel, or if it was because my room was adjoined to the one next door (the adjoining door was closed and locked).

Corridors are small and you can hear every door slam on your floor.

Only one thing disappointing is the bathroom door.

A clever sliding door that moves back and forth between the bathroom opening and your storage closet.

My husband and I are struggling to open the door to the lobby, struggling to get our suitcase up the step and inside, and still as we're walking to the desk, neither of the young adults working looked of from his/her phones.

There is no closest space just a rail to hang items and a very small three drawer wall unit that is behind the bathroom door.

The only issue I had was that in room 2506, there is an audible "knock" through the walls whenever either the elevator is used or the A/C next door is used,

but there is an underground train station right next door which we also used.

There is a sliding door which doubles as the wardrobe door and the bathroom door.

It is hung like a barn door hanging on the outside of the bathroom.

The bathroom door was an unusual rolling door with gap between the wall that gave minimal privacy.

My biggest complaint is that the sliding door to the bathroom is a loose fit and does NO soundproofing.If you're a a little shy about making sounds in the bathroom that others can easily hear in the bedroom this is a problem.

The only thing to improve would be to get rid of the barn doors for the bathrooms.

The bathroom was not clean, the closet had no door, and the room was extremely tiny.

Bathroom had a sliding door which didn’t lock.

I was really impressed with the cleanliness of the room.. the property.

The staff here are friendly and the rooms were clean and well maintained.

We requested adjoining rooms and this request was granted which was brilliant for a group of 4 as we could come and go between rooms so easily.

The room was very quiet considering how close we were to 8th Avenue which is busy!

The rooms have a yoga mat, roller and block which is convenient for stretching.

James at the front desk was very welcoming and able to get me into my room asap.

We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights and every night we can came the room was as clean as day one.

The rooms are well-kept and the lobby is well-maintained.

The rooms are big by New York standards in my opinion and it was really clean.

I stayed 3  nights with my  family the staff was great , the hotel and the room were clean, 
We all loved that it was quiet at night, I will definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone visiting

The cleanliness of the hotel was outstanding; my room was spotless and well-maintained throughout my stay.

The staff was amazing, the hotel and the room were clean, my wife loved the Yoga ball in the room.

We thought the room was to a large extent perfect for us, the beds were comfy, the shower was fantastic and the fridge was so helpful to store various items in.

Small room with just a half wardrobe, so if you had trousers and dresses (which I had)  they were not hanging !

We had a two double bed room that had a small desk area and a small fridge.

Rooms are very small and not that confortable.

though the room was small, there was comfortable seating and enough space to move around.

Now if you’ve traveled in New York City before, you know the rooms can be tiny

It's NYC, so let me start with the caveat that the rooms are tiny.

The rooms are small and have a huge inflatable exercise ball right in the middle of the floor.

The exercise equipment took up too much space in a small room.

No matter that the rooms are small as they are well designed with lots of amenities and ambient lighting.

Upon arrival at the second hotel we realize the room was VERY small (even by NYC standards) and only had two twin size bunk beds.

We were a little concerned about reading reviews about the elevators

at least the elevators don't seem to get used much after about 11pm.

We had a room right by the elevator and I wondered if we would hear it,

The hotel's facilities are ok. As other people mentioned, the elevators can be slow,

The Awful: 

Door slamming at all hours and the lift was incredibly noisy.

We were shown to the lifts and headed to the 53rd floor.

Sheets are tattered and stained, not enough personnel to change sheets, service is lacking, cleanliness is an issue in the bathroom and for some reason on 62nd floor the elevator sounds like the clanging of a rollercoaster …shouldn’t that concern management?..

We only had to wait a while on one occasion for the lift.

If you like a room where you do not get much sleep due to the loud elevators constantly running this is your place to stay.

The broadcast message when from a leak to Massive Leak to Leak - confusing
          Did not mention that the front desk and lobby were significantly impacted by the 
          leak
          NO updates were provided on the timeline for elevator service restoration were 
          ever mentioned.

Just be prepared for several lift stops sometimes as there are many floors.

The elevator are crazy fast and also during rush hour you manage to get up or down in a reasonable amount of time. Can’t wait to come back (I will!!!)

The four lifts were quick and never took long to arrive, despite the hotel being very busy (I heard one of the guys on reception informing a walk up that they had no rooms left).

Elevators sometimes had long wait times in the morning and late afternoon.

We were on the 59th floor so we did have to wait for and in elevators a lot,

(All their rooms are on higher levels so if you're afraid of heights or going on elevators that go high floors do not recommend)

Tip for drivers!

however, and the views are amazing as our room was on the 57th floor.

Other than that, the room was really nice and had everything we needed.

I should like to thank Flavia for the room upgrade and the fast check-in that was highly appreciated after an eight hour transatlantic flight.

The room was very comfortable and the views could not be beat.

The reviews for the most part were positive and since I am a Marriott Preferred Guest we booked the room.

Breakfast is excellent and hotel staff went out of their way to accommodate, including changing the coffee maker in the room to a Kuerig upon request.

Clean rooms and comfortable bed and pillows.

Me and my family recently stayed, we had booked 2 rooms.

Staff was so helpful Victor went above and beyond to make sure I get the best room.

We loved this hotel.Had a great big breakfast everyday.Great location to lots of attractions and subway stations.The rooms were clean and excellent housekeeping service everyday.We loved the kitchenette area.We are so glad we picked this hotel!

And that room she assigned us was a gorgeous, modern & huge!

We loved the view from our room at night time when New York was all lit up.

We booked this hotel because it's the tallest one in New York City and the view from Room 6204 was amazing.

The workout room has ample space and more equipment than most hotels.

I didn't receive a survey from the hotel therefore l have written a review here.

In case you fancy to cook, there is an Instant Pot, dishwasher, sink, glasses, plates, microwave, tea kettle, coffee maker and what not in the room.

Our room was as small as a closet literally about 10x10 with the bed encompassing the entire room except for an over large chair.

though the rooms are a bit small, the finishes and the storage areas make up for it.

The room was very small, with just a plush armchair and a desk in the combined bed/living area. There is no stove in the kitchenette (though hot plates might be available)

It's NYC so your hotel room will be small in comparison to Residence Inn's around the country.

The rooms are on the small side (which is not unusually for NYC)

That room was really small for two people.

While the room is very small, the storage layout helps make the room size ok. Another reason we booked the hotel is because it has kitchenette in the room and laundry facilities in the hotel.

but it was the last  day so I didn't bother calling the front desk.

After enjoyed my lunch at Verso went up to have a smoke and a coffee SOUKAINA helped me with her iPhone charger since mine wasn’t functioning she was super helpful such a good advisor with proactivity and professional engaging meanwhile my shisha yet to be served dint fell alone she could assist properly and serve me my phone after only 10 min of charging smartly made me enjoying the outdoor seating area that at that time was not busy we engage and I could enjoy shisha as well as the drink.

The deduction of a half star is because 3 days out of four we had to phone housekeeping as we didn’t have any shower towels, or only one, or the tea/coffee capsules hadn’t been replenished or the first morning the fridge wasn’t plugged in.

however offered an upgrade option for $40 extra; I had no choice since I had to settle in and get on a conference call ASAP.

Unfortunately we did not receive a call so it was lucky my daughter had set an alarm on her phone as a back up.

It would have cost a fortune to pay for those urgent calls if they had charged us for them.

I had forgotten my cell on the back seat and did not notice until the driver came back to give it to my as I was at the Air Canada desk checking in.

Turns out, we mistakenly left something in the room and I got a phone call from the hotel and they are Fed-exing it back.

If we needed anything in our room all we had to do was call anytime before 7.

They took my cell phone number so as to call me when our room would be available, and we left to have some lunch.

but had to call at 2AM to get couch made up.

but did not get the call we requested when the room was ready.

There was some minor noise from traffic - we used the supplied earplugs by the hotel and white noise on our phones and slept fine.

But Joseph was able to answer a lot of my questions about their hotel without sounding annoyed or rushing me off the phone.

Was not sure it would live up to the positive reviews on Tripadvisor based on my reservation experience (not very welcoming and rates quoted over the phone were higher than their online site and Expedia/TripAdvisor),

The phone reminder the day before check-in is a godsend.

Same if you want to keep your phone plugged in near the bed.

My girlfriend and I often found ourselves getting so frustrated with the speed that we'd turn off the wifi on our smart phones and just use cellular data (which was much faster).

The one improvement that could be made would be to have proper cutlery and crockery rather than plastic cutlery.

OK hotel, clean, don’t expect an American breakfast what you get is a continental with plastic cutlery, paper plates and cups.

This ain't no crappy plastic wrapped danish/instant coffee breakfast.

And I’ve no idea why it is served on plastic plates with plastic cutlery.

There are notes in the bathrooms about not washing towels unnecessarily yet they are sending so much plastic to landfill without a second thought.

I think it would be better if they didn't have breakfast rather than put all that plastic into the garbage every day.

Negatives would be flat pillows, plastic dishes / cups, repetitive breakfast and happy hour items, and the elevators.

The dark brown plastic plates and cutlery which one throws out after use were certainly not appealing.

Disposable (but high quality) plastic plates and cutlery,

happy hour, cubed cheddar and a white, carrots from bag, going white, celery with brown ends, 
everything plastic, room paper cups for coffee, all plastic in breakfast room and happy hour.

Wasn't a fan of the disposable plastic plates, bowls, cups and cutlery.

though were as follows:
- the breakfast, while adequate, was always crowded, tough to find a seat, and frankly everything being on disposable plastic plates was not up to standard.

This was all served on plastic plates - this did not bother us at all,

but the plastic plates & cutlery are the one negative.

The cheese and wine is over hyped,and could be improved by serving the wine in glasses instead of plastic ones for starters and how about some social interaction from members of staff .

but EVERYTHING served on cheap plastic disposable plates, with plastic cutlery and cups.

Generally busy and "self service" plastic plates, cutlery etc.

Breakfast is nice for some reason they do not give out proper cutlery and crockery and just have plastic which is a bit random.

however, it made a clicking or popping noise (it sounded like the plastic casing around the vent) in about one second increments every time it turned on.

They were probably upset about the hideous plastic bowls and cutlery whose overwhelming plastic smell made the fresh fruit inedible.

Excellent hotel, clean facility and spacious rooms.

There were 2issues with lights in my room; both were handled quickly.

Francisco showed us to our room, which was nicely designed, clean and comfortable.

She inspected our room and obviously it was fine,

The hotel was very clean and the rooms were large by NYC standards I believe.

I was on the fifth floor, so I imagine the higher-up from the street you are, the quieter it gets, so request a room on one of the top floors if this is a concern.

Our room was lovely and spacious, 2 double beds, we had a bath and a walk in shower.

First, the room was plenty of size and space.

Upon arrival, we were pleasantly greeted by a young lady and told we would we reached once our room was available.

Our room was of ample size and had 2 queen beds.

The room was a good size, big enough to hang with friends in.

Room was larger than other area hotels we stayed at.

We chose this hotel as the room had a separate area for us to sit at night once the children were asleep, and it served us well.

While it is well located and the rooms are fine it’s just OK.

Breakfast is a very basic continental buffet with juices, tea and coffee,

My other complaint is the reliance on single use plastic - all the plates, cutlery, cups etc for breakfast were plastic and all went into bins and not sorted for recycling.

My only complaint, and it's kind of a big one, they use plastic dishes and cutlery, and they don't recycle.

No cutlery or bottle opener in kitchenette.

Small veggie tray and cheese - the celery and carrots were old and I'm surprised they were put out.

One tiny little niggle, I was a little disappointed at, the fact that they use throw away plates, cutlery etc at breakfast!

but very limited and served with disposable plates.

The breakfast was a self service continental which included stale pastries and was eaten off grotty brown plastic plates with matching brown plastic cutlery,hence we only ate there once.

No such communication had taken place, no missed calls, messages on booking.com.

Phone rang over 25 times , knowing I was calling again. .

In this phone call, they also said that after a company investigated, they found no bed bugs in the room.

We requested them and it took over two hours to get them, after several calls and a visit to the front desk.

Staff calls out so there is only 1 person at the front desk and they are swamped.

The front desk staff doesn’t answer the phone, and when I go down.. there will be three of them at the desk, it takes two hours for them to bring a toilet paper, too many molds on the floor, security won’t come if other guest are loud.

Around 2 am I call them to make sure that I have that room.

There pullout couch had no pillows or blankets I had to call room service and they told me if they had a blanket they would bring me one.

Waited 2 hours and right at 4pm we went back down and lady at desk looked like she had forgot to call us about me!

My one tip to make departure better is don't believe the desk telling you to call 15 - 30 minutes ahead for you car.

There were several rooms on our floor we needed to call the front desk about several times.

but that didn’t help and the lady opted that I had to call Expedia to resolve the problem because it looked like she didn’t want to waste the time with me.

but when we arrived back at 11pm, a shift change had occurred and there had been no engineer and no notes about our call on our room account.

I also had a lot of difficulties reaching the front desk by phone to assure i could check in on time & found no way to get a hold of them after many attempts.

So I call down and tell them please help us as this was supposed to be fixed yesterday.

but why did someone tell me on the phone this was fine ??

(This is my 2nd time staying at this location) I feel this is a no frills hotel and room.

All my clients said staff was extremely friendly, rooms very nice.

A warm smile and hot chocolate welcomed us and the rooms were clean and tidy and only a short hop from JFK.

She went out of her way to arrange connecting rooms for us.

We arrived fairly early and was able to check in early and got an upgrade  to the room as well!

Housekeeping was excellent and room was always nice and clean.

And ofcourse, my room was large and perfect for my long stay.

The rooms are very large (which is rare in New York City) and the staff was so friendly and helpful.

Rooms incredibly comfortable and well kept and cleaned.

She then checked me in and brought my luggage to the room with me.

The room was clean and very comfortable and the view for rooms on the south side is amazing!

The room was clean, the cleaning staff tucked in our toddler’s snugglies, we had a great view, and the location was great for subway rides to Central Park and Penn Station, and walks to both neighborhood restaurants and all the stores of Midtown.

Rooms are clean and have GREAT views of Manhattan - at night time the views are extraordinary.

Very comfortable and clean rooms with an excellent view of the avenue.

but was offered at a much discounted rate so I decided to go for it.

but not when the hotel is 5 times the price of the closest alternative.

Had room service/ meal in once and was expensive

Unless you have a club room and dine at the Langham Club, don’t expect much despite the high prices.

Definitely ensure you pay to join the 'Langham Club' if not included with your room.

The only thing I can’t be happy about it is the Price.

but setting, pace of meal and seating disappointing when we were initially sat at a table where the seats were set at different  heights and uncomfortable- we did get moved following request but felt the dining experience was disappointing and not luxurious enough for the high cost of the evening- would not dine here again
