My only qualm is it charges $39 per night for 'facilities fee' which include $10 daily allowance to get drinks/ snacks from the cupboard.

The only facility the hotel appears to offer is a small gym, to be charged a considerable sum for this is unwelcome.

but NOT on checkout day and the funds don’t roll over.

One thing to be aware of is the "facility fee" charge, which for our room rate of $311 was $39 (12.5%).

We needed to check out one day before our scheduled check out day and we were not charged the extra day.

I would then put it on the card and move on.

Even gave us his card and said if there were issues to call him.

again an example of too many staff, and no one taking charge.

Room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 3pm But reception staff were quick to oblige and told us that we wouldn’t have to wait long.There is a holding charge of $60 per night for any incidentals that may occur during your stay so make sure you have a credit card on you.

On their website there was something about a $10 daily credit for their 'store' so you could buy little snacks etc.

If they want to cut back housekeeping expenses, then at least offer that option to waive housekeeping services for a credit at check-in.

Front desk does not accept any cash, only credit cards.

however the $30 resort fee was steep for wifi, gym, and a $10/day credit for snacks.

If they got lost from us they just needed to show the card to know whew they were staying.

They almost charged for the entire stay until I told them I would dispute with my Amex.

Because they put me up at a sister property, 50NYC, at no charge.

as if that were not enough inconvenience they charged us additional fees that had not been previously reported when we made the reservation, an additional 25 dollars per day as extra fee for wi-fi facilities.

In addition, the hotel ran out of many the items in their lobby's fridge, which was annoying as $10 of the same daily fee that covers the wifi can be used on these items, and if you don't use that $10 credit it's just lost.

Plenty of room for a family of four, and the kitchen came in handy.

Visited as a family with 3 girls from teenaged up so needed plenty of room which we got .

We were traveling as a family of four, including two young boys.

This is a great hotel for families visiting NYC because it’s in a great location- within walking distance of MOMA, Bloomingdale’s, Serendipity III, and in a nice quiet part of the city.

All facilities were spotless, lots of families hanging out in the common space.

Stayed here for a family member’s surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering - Hotel staff was pleasant, room was clean and spacious with kitchen being a plus.

Very convenient and our hotel of choice when visiting family in UES.

My family and I came solely because this hotel was very close to Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital Cancer Center.

This was a great spot for our family of 5 with older children.

We'll definitely be back and will spread the good word amongst our friends and family.

We stayed in a two bed suite, which included a pull out bed and a full kitchenette.

The full kitchen came in handy for snacks and some meals.

The good: location, quiet room that faced the rear of the hotel, large full kitchen with dishwasher and clothes washer.

Excellent facilities, very large rooms w kitchen and full size refrigerator, reclining chair ideal for postoperative recuperation.

We had the use of a little kitchen, (whilst not a full kitchen like at home, it served its' purpose and we never intended to cook a meal).

but I worked during the day in the room so it was worth paying up for more space, and the full kitchen cut down on food costs.

Full kitchen enabled us to eat breakfast in the room every day which saved a significant amount of money.

Near a grocery store (1 block) and grocery delivery is available.

The rooms, converted from apartments and thus more spacious than at typical hotels, include well-equipped full kitchens that are indispensable for longer stays.

The suites have a full living area, full bath, two major closets and a full kitchen.

The suite I was upgraded to was so spacious - living room, dining room, full kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms.

There was a full kitchen with pots and pans and a large fridge and a little counter to dine on.

The Good:

The location of the bathroom, however, is not great.

Dead trees in planters, cigarette burned cushions, plastic trash lying around and extremely dirty windows/glass doors.

The room was also filthy with old wrappers on the floor.

However, one of my pillows smelled like urine and we REALLY would have liked to have had a fan in the bathroom.

but no ventilation so cooking smells linger.

It is just the smell of the carpet in the corridor that needs attention and the WiFi is so weak, we gave up on it.

The pans weren't scratched and nasty like many places.

The sleeper sofa was dirty and smelly  with a very thin mattress, we could feel the springs.

It's only problem was that it had a strong smell of carpet cleaner that made it difficult for my friend  to sleep.

The hallways smelled like cigarettes on the room floors.

The carpet was stained, bathroom very dated, and some rather potent smells that permeated the hotel and room, including a mildew smell on the lamp shades that was quite noticeable and then just an old food odor that was trapped in the room.

Garden Suites was fairly close to all the big hospitals of the Upper East Side.

We love this hotel on the Upper East Side.

This hotel is very well located on the Upper East Side and enormous room for a NYC hotel.

The hotel is great for extended stays and is well located on the upper east side of Manhattan.

The location on the Upper East Side was great- we were able to walk to so many of the places we wanted to go, and it was nice to be out of the hustle and bustle of busier parts of the city.

It is convenient to the newly extended Q train, so easy to get to midtown and to the Upper East Side.

The neighborhood being on the upper east side was peaceful.

Very safe, quiet residential area (upper east side).

Affinia Gardens is a lovely hotel and conveniently located  on the Upper East Side.

The hotel staff are fabulous, as is the location, with access to subways to both the left and the right of the entrance, the city is equally accessible by foot and we enjoyed using Google maps to stroll around the area, tasting pizza slices, bagels,corn dogs, coffee etc on the way.

Although there isn’t a restaurant, they do supply a nice little breakfast in the morning consisting of bagels doughnuts, croissants etc.

The free breakfast is a selection of pastrys, donuts and bagels, and is ideal for taking the edge off hunger 1st thing before you head out as there are plenty of places to grab a bite in the immediate area to suit anyones budget.

however the range of items on offer is excellent and we were able each morning to enjoy fruit juice, toasted bagels, muffins and doughnuts!

They have milk, juice, tea, coffee, GREAT fresh pastries, bagels, cream cheese and jelly.

Breakfast was an amazing array of delicious fresh bagels and pastries, and coffee and tea are available all day.

We were worried about noise from the elevator or breakfast room,

but there are trays in the room to take your breakfast back to your room for a more private dining experience.

Breakfast room was tiny and despite saying continental breakfast it was basically cake.

The breakfast room does get very busy though

The breakfast room is not really set up for every guest sitting eating breakfast.

The issues we encountered were the the very small breakfast room (capacity of 12 guests) resulting in a line being formed for access to the room.

but it meant he could join us in our room for breakfast.

but we decided to stay where we were as we soon realised we were near the breakfast room and could easily get breakfast and take it back to our room on the tray.

The breakfast room is very small so it's best to take your room tray, fill it up and then eat in your room.

Only  rated as 4 as breakfast room was a bit small and bathrooms need refreshing.

You can also use the breakfast room throughout the day for your own meals, if you don't want to eat in your room.

the only negative was that the breakfast room too small.

It has very limited options and there is only room for about 10 people in the breakfast room and the room is really uninspiring, so you do not even want to sit there.

but the breakfast room is so small that if 4 other people are there, you can't get in to get any food.

Just donuts, toast and bananas, and I went early.

They had a continental breakfast every morning with a very nice selection of donuts, pastries and bagels as well as Starbucks coffee and juice available all day.

The breakfast room has a big starbucks coffee brewer, a milk dispenser, a big brewed coffee machine, a juice machine (orange and apple and cold water dispenser) and pastry table which include bagels, croissants, muffins, donuts and fruits (banana and red apple).

The breakfast was perfect to get us going for our busy day and the donuts were yummy.

The breakfast was great because it meant we could grab coffee/fruit juice, bagels, muffins, donuts early and be good to go.

Free breakfast served in the hotel each morning from 7am, bagels, muffins, donuts, fruit, tea/coffee etc.

Every time this happened, we had to take the super slow elevators down to front desk to get rekeyed.

Please note: there are only two elevators so at peak times that could be challenging (it was not a problem for us

When making my reservations online, through their website, one month prior), I asked for the largest room available, with a view, away from the elevator.

The elevator situation was out of control too.

Unfortunately it was right next to the elevator which made a bit of noise.

Oh, and previous reviews talk about the lifts being 'unreliable'

2) the elevators do not sync with each other.

In addition the lifts were very very slow.

As soon as we walked in the room we realised it was next to the elevator shaft room and that’s all you could hear.

There are only 2 lifts servicing all floors so sometime it takes a while to get the lift.

The only issue I would have is the elevators.

There is only one elevator that services higher floors.

Having arrived and walked down a narrow corridor to reception and gone up to the room in one of two separate lifts(One only goes to the 7th floor) it did feel a little confining

but never seemed too busy and has two lifts which makes it easy to get to your room.

Only negatives were the wifi speed and that they only had 1 lift serving to top 6/13 floors, meaning that you had to be very patient.

The only downside was the elevator that insisted on stopping at every single floor whether or not someone was there waiting, a bit of a pain when staying on one of the higher floors.

We put it down to the lift which was outside our room.

The room (superior king #1002) had a wonderful view of the Empire State Building and was very comfortable.

The hotel its self is modern, clean, good sized bedrooms, beds are exceptionally comfortable, all our rooms had a fantastic view to the Empire State Building.

We had room 506 which was spacious, well equipped and with a nice view to the Empire State Building.

Finally the view was out the front with a view of the Empire State Building

Service - All staff were really polite, we checked in early and were able to leave our bags with the hotel whilst our room was being serviced.

Stayed with my girlfriends for one night  in a Deluxe Jr. Suite Two Kings with a great view of the Empire State Bldg.

Our room boasts a  comfortable Deluxe Jr Suite 2 King with great view of the Empire State bldg over a welcoming bottle of white wine and strong farewell espresso.

As a family we recently stayed in three rooms at the Broadway Plaza, all with a brilliant view of the Empire State Building.

Near empire state building and Madison Square garden.

Rooms were really nice and we had a view of the empire state.

The hotel is perfectly located in Flatiron, and the rooms are beautiful, especially those with views of the Empire State Building.

I requested higher floor rooms (we had 4 rooms booked) with a view of the Empire State Building ( not expecting the request to be met for all the rooms ) We were delighted that the request was fulfilled for all of us.

The location was excellent, the rooms were spacious and we had a fantastic view of the Empire State Building.

28th street subway station is 5 mins walk while attractions like MSG and the Empire State Building are within easy walking distance.

We were on the 8th floor with a fabulous view of the Empire State Building and spent a very comfortable six nights there.

We loved our room - the view of the Empire State Building was stunning.

The Broadway Plaza Hotel is in a great location near the Empire State Building.

Large room very comfortable for 4 people: quiet, comfortable bed/ pillows, clean and large bathroom.

Rooms are very big, two double beds and a table and two chairs.

We had a big room with 2 King size beds. Perfect
