Beekman is a feast for the eyes with antique Parisian decor w very cool modern takes on antique art.

The common areas of the hotel like the atrium feature a classic vibe that we love very much.

The renovation of this historic building and the attention to detail in the design is both "authentic" and superb.

The whole gothic style of the place, plus the clear inspiration from classic figures such as Edgar Allan Poe fills is a whole experience worth living.

I did not notice the construction noise complained of by many other reviewers.

We didn’t hear a sound from the street, construction, lobby or adjoining rooms.

Entered the room at 11pm and the loudest most disruptive construction persisted ALL night long.

bad experience - small cramped room - overwhelming noise from construction work - ended at 1 am and started back at 4:30 am.

Despite a few housekeeping issues and construction in the hallway outside our room commencing at 8 am, we had a great time.

Being told I got an upgrade to spend the whole night listening to construction noise did not feel great.

I was concerned with noise given the construction on Nassau street.

There was construction outside the building

The construction on nassau street and the iron slabs on the road are killing the experience throughout the entire night.

There is a lot of construction going on, so if you’re on that side, you will have some external noise during the day.

The other issue has been written about here, which is the construction on Nassau Street, which starts at 6:30am and goes on until 10 at night.

There is a huge construction project across the street on one side of the building and be cause this is a historic hotel, there is no sound proofing.

Lastly, our room was right across the alley from a building undergoing construction and it began at 7 am.

super loud on the street, could hear construction all morning.

There is construction across the street which made it difficult to sleep.

Bar fights across the street at 2am incredibly loud construction from 6am until early evening and traffic noise at all hours.

We will ask for a room that does not face the construction across the street next time.

They walked us up the street to get a cab when construction blocked the street temporarily.

Verify that the surrounding construction has been completed before booking a stay at the Beekman.

The location is great, close to everything in financial district.

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at The Beekman; an elegant, so chic and different hotel at Lower Manhattan.

Location & others: The hotel is located in lower Manhattan and I chose it because it's very convenient to get to the many places we wanted to visit in Brooklyn (Dumbo, Brooklyn Bridge, etc.).

The Beekman Hotel is an iconic, stunning hotel in lower Manhattan.

The location was central to all that lower Manhattan has to offer.

Situated in the Fi Di in lower Manhattan, the subway is a 3 min walk away, The Beekman is easily accessible and a 40 min trip by cab from LGA.

Had a weekend stay here, great location, restaurant and bar conveniently downstairs, the beds were so comfy and the staff beyond amazing!

The bar and restaurant is a timeless, elegant room that is spectacular at the same time.

The atrium is stunning, and can be enjoyed from Temple Court bar and restaurant.

The bar from lunch onwards is slammed, book, book, book!

The hotel itself is clearly steeped in tradition, with a beautiful bar and restaurant area that gathers a buzzy crowd on a week night.

The food and cocktails in The Bar Room were excellent.

Whilst I did not use the bar and restaurant area  proved popular.

It was nice that the bar and restaurant are right there outside of the elevators if you want to grab a drink or a quick meal on your way out about town.

but the surroundings were under construction, so that affected the overall satisfaction, Staff was very pleasant and helpful and the bar / restaurant was really cool!

We used our F&B credit for dinner at the Bar Room, a more affordable and laid back version of Temple Court (we had previously made a reservation at Le Gratin,

Temple Court Bar area and the restaurant are on par with any top shelf eatery or bar in the area.

It gets very busy in the evening so book dining and bar tables ahead of arrival.

Room small and basic with old pipes that take 30 mins to run hot in the morning and poor gym equipment.

I stayed at the Beekman - the rooms are very small and mine was broken into.

Small room, no real desk chair, no coffee maker in room, mosquitoes even on the eighth floor.

Rooms are small and run down and dingy, room service stops early, should be all night if you’re going to be in a 5 star.

Just note that even though I was upgraded, my room was still quite small (not surprising for a Manhattan hotel,

but the room was quite small and looked out to a bleak landscape of brick walls and unoccupied offices.

Rooms are on the small side as one would expect in NYC and the views are pretty poor since you're Downtown and the buildings are all close together.

Some practical tips:  The rooms can be a bit small, so look at the square feet on the website before you book and, if you want quiet, you might also ask for a room off the main atrium.

Only real flaw is rooms are tiny.

My room was tiny, which might have sufficed for me.

The other great thing is the cookies they leave in your room at night such an attention to detail.

The cookies provided by room service was a nice touch,

I stayed here for just a few days in November 2019 and thoroughly enjoyed my stay, the room was lovely, the view was fantastic, all staff that I'd interacted with were friendly and helpful, the location is excellent PLUS they bring you cookies in the evening.

I enjoyed the turndown service and the cookies that were left.

Fresh cookies left in your room during turn down service, amenities available, and cafe medi has the best food!

Nightly turn back service and cookies were a treat, as was the proximity to great restaurants and my own apartment.i was surprised that the hotel seems Less upscale in the entrance (dark, a bit tired),

It was great to come back on an evening to a turned down bed and cookies!

The bed was comfortable, and I'll always welcome free evening cookies.

Bedding is lux and the turndown cookies are a treat!

We had air -con which was very welcome and cookies were in the room daily.No tea/coffee ,used to pop to the shop on the corner for coffee.The rooms could do with a freshen up,as looking a bit tired.The staff were lovely and friendly and helpful, couldn't fault them.

First night we were left some cookies with the turn down service (second night nothing) so no consistency

One of the two elevators was broken, hallways are dark, the carpet in the hallway was stained, tiles missing on the bathroom floor, door for what used to be a circuit panel couldn't be closed all the way, sloppy patching and paint on the walls.

The interior of the hotel is decorated in a dark, mostly black style so some might not like that.

Décor is ridiculously dark like the designer was teenage goth.

Hallways are dark and moody and the doors to rooms don't have any peep holes, preventing you from seeing who is actually knocking on your door!

Only complaint about the rooms which isn’t a huge one is that the bathroom was dark and the shower pressure was so high, the curtain kept blowing in on me

The entrance and the desk are dark and disappointing,

but was still quite dark with no counter space.

I ended up showering in the dark to give onlookers less of an opportunity to see anything.

Lighting in the bathroom is a bit dark, difficult when you do your make up.

The bathroom was tiled, floored and ceilinged with black tiles which made it a little dark, and the lighting was difficult to do your makeup, and additionally it took us a short while to work out how to open the wardrobes (we arrived after 15 hours of travelling though!).

The lobby is a bit dark so seems like it could be a bit party party party,

Sleep quality was poor.The bathroom was too dark.

No vanity to apply make up..dark bathroom., toilet weak flush, clogged, running for days, even after supposedly fixed, had to sit on floor to use small table near window to apply make up

The hotel lobby is on the second floor and quite dark, not very inviting.

I ended up leaving early and moved to the “Standard” hotel in Lower east village.

Since the city opened up again Lower east side night life is by far the best  I have experienced in nyc.

The located by a subway station, lots of little restaurants clubs nearby, room view was just breathtaking of lower Manhattan light at night.

Location wise you have the best of eats in lower Manhattan.

Our room this time was on the 7th and we had a corner room with floor to ceiling windows facing lower manhattan.

The subway is a few blocks away and lower Manhattan is all within walking distance.

Really you have a great view of lower Manhattan, including One World (which, by the way, you should not miss visiting the observatory for).

Great service (thank you, Josh), "teatime" free wine in the window-rich lobby lounge, high-value breakfast packages, extra comfy beds, all within walking distance of outstanding LES and East Village restaurants, East Village theatre, and lower Manhattan history.

The room had spectacular views of both Lower Manhattan and the bridges, the bed was the best and they went out of their way to make our visit memorable.

Yes there is remodelling work going on in the hotel at the moment, and the bar and restaurant are currently closed,

Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Marta (Director of operations) and the friendly reception staff ,Marta  makes our trip more interesting with her advices & tips about the city ,shops,restaurants bars are within walking distance.

One thing of note is this hotel has a lively bar and dining area at street level which was a fun place for after dinner drinks with family from the area.

but now pretty safe, lots of great bars & dining spots.
