The bed was clean, the A/C worked, there was hot water, the parking lot was only two blocks away, and Central Park is only three blocks away. But.

We were grateful for clean bedding and towels,

The area was pretty safe and the bed and linens were clean.

The pros - an excellent location, (mostly) friendly staff and a clean bed - were significantly outweighed by the cons.

The beds were very clean and the housekeeping services are very good.

I booked for a single and got a two room suite with modern furniture,, two flat screen tvs, two new air conditioners, and a clean bed with a gorgeous black patten leather backboard, free inroom wifi that I have had no problem with.

Bed linen is clean and fresh, the water is hot and the location right next to 96th St subway station is very handy.

There was a King size bed with several fluffy white pillows and a clean bedsheets.

Comfortable bed with clean bed sheets and daily change of bath towels were a welcome.

People in the front desk very nasty, rooms not clean and small, no refrigerator, old carpet, small corridors, old elevators, no breakfast service and more.

The reception has cracked tiles and undulating floor, the lifts are dark & dirty & the place is shabby.

buttons in the elevator don't illuminate (not even safe); the TV in the room is a poor quality, old and worn out, old tube type; and, overall, the hotel is need of complete refurbishment.

Elevators are small and old, just like the rest of the place.

The elevators are slow and small, hallways dark, long and humid.

The lobby does not look very inviting, since it looks outdated, as well as the elevators which are very old and the hallways are narrow and smell funky.

It took three trips up and down in the elevator to even get into my room as the keys wouldn't work.

Lobby was dirty as was the elevator, Oh well, anyone can have a bad day. Not.

No fridge in room either the hotel has seen better days and the lifts were very dirty we were happy with the location

The lobby, elevators, hallways, and room were filthy, with broken furniture, peeling wallpaper, and broken blinds.

Although the staff is friendly, the room I was assigned had a 24” landing with a 9” drop.

Parking is best taken care of in one of the nearby garages as there is no on site parking (it's Manhattan, and it's to be expected) the staff is friendly and fast if you need help or extras like more towels and such.

The room was clean and plenty large enough for two to three people and the friendly staff were always available to help.

Upon arriving, I was pleasantly surprised to find the lobby clean and friendly.

The staff are very friendly and very helpful when asked about recommendations etc.

All queries or questions asked of the reception were answered friendly & efficiently, in all good value for money for the price paid & would certainly stay there again.

The hotel is perfectly located - it is in a quieter area - the subway (express and regular routes) is a 2 minute walk from the doors of the hotel, and super easy to navigate your way around the city.

Fantastic location, right opposite a main subway station with links to everywhere, all the main lines.

The location is excellent, just less than a block away from the Subway station, and there are many restaurants around it, many open late after midnight.

Located in the heart of Manhattan NYC, this Hotel is 2.5 Blocks from Central park, and 1-3 blocks away from the subway depending on what line you need.

I’ve stayed at the Wyndham Days Inn close to Central Park West, Whole Foods, shops.

You get a 10 percent coupon from lobby if you eat at the diner located very close to hotel.

The 94 Corner Cafe is right across the street and offers great food.

It was in a good place, near subway and places to eat.

Plenty to eat around the hotel, easy access to anything.

The location is very good since it is minutes from a subway station, across the street from a vegetarian Middle Eastern restaurant and a coffee shop, and fairly equidistant from the Cloisters and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

It is located right by a 24hr coffeeshop with anything from breakfast to dinner (offered any time during the day)!

There is a Corner Cafe on the opposite corner with an immense choice of food, which was good & tasty, across the road is a McDonalds & Starbucks, also a couple of supermarkets/pharmacy & other bars & cafes

The one bright spot is the cafe across the street.

I like the location, your in a neighborhood with lots of good restaurants and bars.Easy access to subway downtown.

Some excellent restaurants around the area as well.

but the room was outdated, with peeling wallpaper,  cracked tiles in the bathroom, and generally looking old.

When I realized it, I went down to the reception to announce it and was told that the manager would come in the morning and he would be able to look in the system if someone entered the room.

The room smelled like mold or fungus when I entered,

My room was in a stair well, nasty carpets, holes in the walls, loose outlets, broken blinds, broken tiles in bathroom, the toilet wouldn’t stop refilling, faucets were faulty.

I called Expedia once i got into the room, and they said there was nothing they could do

After first night we asked for extra blankets, there was none in room.

The dont clean the rooms so ir you go early and arrive late you Will find that you dont have clean towells..no toilet paper. no ester AND no coffee (they charge for this complementary.  )

We requested 3 different room changes due to this issue and EVERG SINGLE ROOM is the same.

but the phone line to my room did not work.

The room bared no resemblance to their website.

Old dated room, peeling wall paper, worn, stained carpet, old mattress, terrible furnishings, thick layer of dust on blinds,  cracked and water stained ceiling, faucet dripped all night.

What a crock we were shown to the dirtiest room ever then when I complained they said I could pay for an upgrade and that was our start to a horrible hotel experience avoid like the plague plus the hotel is uptown and is a fair distance from the central area of New York NOT GOOD☹️☹️

Toilet ran, the huge piece of sheet metal in the shower fell (could have caused serious injury), the room smelled like a wet ashtray.

Me and my two children checked in at night hotel Broadway for 4 days and Got a room so under standard that we contacted hotels.com .. wallpaper were falling of, The bed was broken and you felt all The metal, dirty and disgusting..
Hotels.com contacted The hotel and they lied and Said our room was newly renovated..
We had to leave The hotel and loose Money ..

First night was in a room which bore no resemblance to the pictures on the website.

Our room, 727 also had filthy carpet, it smelled like someone recently passed away.

Do not stay here: The hotel is dirty, smelly, tired and old.

The rooms are shabby and smelly with the paintwork peeling and leaks coming through the ceilings!

It was smelly and was seriously needing repair.

I think the wet ashtray smell was probably the worst part, am washing everything I packed because even the clean clothes smell.

One day I came back to my room and it smelled like weed.The Cathode Ray Tube television in the room had a very limited amount of stations, which included at most 1 or 2 of the local stations.

However, my sheets were filthy & when i asked for new sheets they told me I had to wait till morning.

The new room stunk of cigarettes constantly.

When we finally got the room I reserved the carpet was incredibly musty and full of mold.

The interior is outdated and in some parts of the hotel down right disgusting.

A tad shabby with the carpets, smell of disinfectant.

It's filthy, dingy, falling apart, and there were cocroaches in the bathroom.

There was others complaining about the smell of smoke also.

The halls were just as bad and smelled of cigarettes, lastly the place checked me out a day early and locked my bags inside and the staff couldn't have been any nastier about it.

The floorboards dipped outside the bathroom door, no plug in sink, just a hole, toilet seat peeling, carpet sticky, furniture badly scuffed, window filthy.

Close for subway, away from the crowds, quiet, clean.

Great base only 2/5 mins away from Subway, quick route to NY centre, great value and staff pleasant enough.

But we had everything we needed and it was clean and SO convenient to the subway, which is all we really need or expect out of a hotel room in this city.

The subway will drop you off at 50th street, which is right at the theater district.

Let me start by saying that this hotel is in the perfect location, there is a near by subway which is 2 stops from Times Square, very easy to use, and I would recommend buying the $32 metro card as it’s great value for money and valid for 7 days.

Location was brilliant as 94th St subway was on the corner & across the road so we bought a weekly pass at $32 to travel into Times Square or Ground Zero areas, ended up using the subways so much as quick to get around.

First the Goods: The Hotel is ideally located on Broadway being close to Central Park, The Subway and other attractions.

Hotel is in a great location if you are using the subway.

The only thing I liked, was that it is very close to the subway,

It's on the upper west side and right near a subway station that goes downtown to the theatre district, etc.

The location close to a subway station and Central Park is the best thing about it.

The staff was polite and the location is great-very close to a subway station and a great diner   (Manhattan Diner) where we ate breakfast every day.

It is near to subway station, pharmacy, good restaurants and vegetables and grocery shops.

It is well located, close to the subway station ( 2 stops to Times Square) , 10 min walk to Central Park.

The subway station is so close by, hop in and all attractions are just stops away!

I tend to spend most of my Manhattan time south of 50th Street and Broadway and this hotel was very close to the 96th subway station that can get one to all parts downtown!

The good points last year, and once again this year, were the very close proximity to a Subway station, the excellent Manhattan Diner which is just a similarly short walk away around the corner, and the fact that Central Park is only about a 10 – 15 minute walk away.

It was close to the subway station which was a plus.

but this was my first foray to the Upper West and I loved it.

but the room was clean and the locatiopn (Upper West Manhattan) is great- near  to Subways  1,2 &3 entrance whict gets you around New York, ( get a 7 day Subway Pass--will save you money and easy to use) Also take the free Staten Island Ferry-- cheap way to see the coast line of New York and the Statue of Liberty.

Close to a couple of nice restaurants in the upper west area, nice neighbourhoods, and relatively quiet compared to times square.

In the past:  interactions with staff have been positive; rooms, though very small, are functional and clean;

Service was friendly and helpful, and the police seem to be pretty clean.

Bathroom was clean and I had no waits to use the facilities.

If there were sinks in room or in the private baths, then the SHARE would be fine, as everything was clean enough etc - just rather awkward, and I am NO PRUDE at all.

but they were very clean and nicely decorated.

Clean, affordable, and in a great location.

I’ve stayed at the Jane several times over the years since I’ve moved out of the West Village and it is consistently well priced, well situated, clean, and the staff is lovely.

Every single trip (pre and post Covid) has been met with a friendly and attentive staff, impeccably clean bathrooms, and a good bed to sleep in before the next day of adventuring.

the positives: for so much sharing of restrooms and showers it’s clean.

The rooms, beds and bathrooms are all very clean.

They were very clean as was the community bathrooms and entire hotel.

The Jane is located in a very nice area next to the Hudson, surrounded by the Whitney, High Line, Meat Packing District, Pier 51 park and Greenwich Village.

It's location in West Village, beside Greenwich village and the Hudson River, is perfect for exploring NY and enjoying the local restaurants and cafes.

It is the funnest place to stay in New York: by the river, by the galleries in Chelsea, by the Greenwich village, and in a great neighbourhood in its own right.

And all the restaurants and bars in Greenwich Village are only a short walk away.

Great little hotel with an excellent location to Greenwich Village and the meatpacking district.

This is a period hotel in Greenwich Village near high line. Overall, atmosphere is a bit quirky (in a good way); the  staff's uniforms and lobby atmosphere are reminiscent of "Grand Budapest Hotel."

Add to that its closeness to the Whitney and the Chelsea market and Greenwich Village and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and you have a sure fire winner!

The West Village location is ideal with so much in walking distance in Greenwich Village and nearby subway stations to the rest of the city.

but did taint our stay slightly, 
Location-wise, it's in Greenwich Village which is a beautiful part of Manhattan - right by the East River and a lovely neighbourhood.

Price, old world charm, the wonderful/nothing too much trouble staff, the prime Greenwich Village location, the cleanliness/slippers and bathrobes/wifi etc. etc.

Location is terrific - a quick walk into Greenwich Village, Chelsea Market, and the Highline.

Greenwich Village was lovely and there were great bars and restaurants within a few minutes’ walk, Hector’s Café and Diner is well worth a visit with great food, friendly staff and it is open 24 hours!

and the hotel is really well located in the greenwich village, in manhatan.

Location was great for Highline, Greenwich Village and not too far from underground.

Quite simply a delightful hotel with an abundance of character set deep within the perfect neighbourhood of Greenwich Village.

This place has character and is a short walk to Greenwich Village and the meatpacking district.

Situated in beautiful Greenwich Village, The Jane is just across the street from the Hudson.

Location is excellent for The Highline, Greenwich Village, Chelsea Markets and riverside walks.

Very near the bars eating spots and other attractions of Greenwich Village and the subway system.

The location is great - really close to the highline, chelsea markets and greenwich village which has a great vibe.

The hotel itself is really intriguing, with an amazing theme and style, with lovely bathrooms that are just round the corner further down the corridor, with hot water, shampoo, shower gel etc.

The bathrooms are brilliant - big chunky showers with unlimited hot water - and you rarely meet anyone in there.

Shared bathroom was fine - good showers with hot water, kept clean despite heavy use by multiple guests each morning.

The bathroom featured a great shower with nice pressure and plenty of hot water.

It was always clean, and hot water was aplenty.
