I offered for them to charge me at the full rate and that they could refund me in the morning once they get an updated form, they said that their system won’t allow them to do this.

but that the hotel needs a physical card in order to pay for the room.

No greeting card inside the room to tell us how to call front desk or anything.

And most ridiculous they charge me $250 because they found cigarette in the trash.

In the middle of our transaction, her computer froze and she told me to call back and ask for another operator.

Most interesting, and disappointing, is that they charged me an additional amount three days after I checked out!

though there is an ATM at the hotel I was still charged by my card company!

To take a taxi from the W into Times Square was interesting; one day the taxi charged us, 55$, the next day 70$ and then the W quoted us 70$ with the Taxi service they have for their guests.

Can't believe they charge for WiFi, crazy at that piece per night.

We were charged for something we never even saw, much less ate.

Also I was not even given a call out of courtesy that I would be charged.

), NO in-room coffee/tea service, couldn't turn the shower to a bath setting, couldn't stop the tub up, phone charges for 800 numbers.

They should not be charging $350 plus a night on the weekend for a hotel that has a club that plays music until 3am.

One big negative: they charge for internet access!

It would have been helpful if someone told me the elevator would only take me to my floor if I swiped my room card first.

what I didn't expect was that I was double charged for parking, and when questioned they removed the total parking fee.

$125 is ridiculous for a pet when most Starwood properties charge $0 for pets.

Upon returning with 2 old fashions he just looked at me as if I magically knew how much the drinks were and didn't ask if I wanted to charge them to the room.

but gave me a key card that didn't work the first time.

Be careful of all the in-room extras; there are at least 20 items in the room they would LOVE to charge you for (who needs a $50 kaleidoscope?).

Most rooms offer a view of the river, looking across at Manhattan.

The location is also great, 5 minutes walk to Path - train that takes to Manhattan.

The room with its magnificent views of manhattan was modern, very clean with a comfy sofa to admire the view.

The skyline is so beautiful its almost better than being in Manhattan.

The room (corner suite) was very large with a fantastic view of Manhattan, we got all the facilities the best breakfast buffet we found in our trip - very rare in the USA !

The W is very well situated for visiting Manhattan whilst enjoying a quite stay outside the noisy city.

$38 is good for 24 hours of parking, which allowed us to park in the evening, and leave our car all day while we were in Manhattan.

The Halifax restaurant in the hotel offers a great view of the Manhattan skyline.

We had a wonderful time with the beautiful views of the Manhattan skyline, great breakfast staff and prompt valet service for our car.

The ferry and metro (PATH) station to get to Manhattan (journey time about 10 mins) is just five minutes walk, as are a good selection of restaurants and bars.

It was so quick and easy to get into the city (PATH: 15 minute/ 5 stop train ride from Hoboken into downtown Manhattan.

Hotel is close to the PATH which gets you into the city in a jiffy.

Location is good being close to the Path station.

The PATH station is just a few blocks away, so it was easy to get to NYC.

It is at the waterfront with a short walk to the Path and ferry.

The PATH is walking distance from the hotel and there were plenty of taxis and ride share alternatives available.

The air conditioning is superb and it is very convenient for both Hoboken itself and the city (it’s really close to the Path train and the ferries).

There are many nice restaurants within walking distance and the Path train is only a few blocks away.

The location is perfect with easy access to restaurants and the PATH train.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the path train which takes you to 33rd st in Manhatten.

Like previous reviews state, it was an easy train ride on the PATH to different parts of NYC.

This hotel is along the river and there is a long bike, jogging or walking path which was very pleasant.

It's right smack in the nicest part of Hoboken, with great views of NYC and a nice bike/jogging path along the Hudson with nice restaurants everywhere.

Such a nice way to approach NYC, reliable and well, not the subway or PATH.

I travel to the area a lot for work and almost always stay at the W.  So much that one year they sent me a W Hoboken keychain for Christmas :) it’s got good proximity to all the food and nightlife of Washington street and is less than 5 minutes from the PATH and the Ferry if you’re going into Manhattan.

Later on they tell me that my employee discount expired yesterday and that I have to pay the rack rate.

Overall not well kept, general upgrades should be done if they are going to charge these prices

There's nothing in between so if you check in at 4 and leave as early as 8 am, you still have to pay for $35.

Oh and their rates are absurd for what you get (basically nothing) -almost $300 a night.

The parking situation is particularly bad; street parking is difficult and the one garage across the street is both expensive ($20-35 each time you go in and out) and often full.

Did not touch the mini bar as the prices were a bit high,

We only paid for a regular room as view was not important since it was a short stay and we were barely in room.

The bed was poorly made with a rip in the sheet.

We had only one time breakfast, not that cheap

The only issue I had was the fact it wasn't as quiet as one would expect for the cost.

There aren't too many hotels in the immediate area and therefore, the W has a monopoly and sometimes the prices are extremely high.

After the third experience with our Taxi prices, we decided to use Uber, and it was a lot less expensive, 39$ to get into town from the W to Times Square.

I thought this was supposed to be an upstanding hotel because it is more expensive. .

Either give it away to biz travelers paying this kind of nightly rate or get it out of the room, a bit annoying.

but doesn't have an negative impact on my review is you have to pay for wifi, since we were not there to work or play on our phones it didn't matter to us.

The fact that you have to pay for WiFi when most places include it with its loyalty members were kinda bogus especially since the WiFi wasn’t that fast.

They refused to give me my car until I paid.

Checked in today  room no 1007 .. room worn out … it’s past 10pm next door room people too noisy , informed the reception

Lastly, the walls are paper thin as someone was having  a party at 11pm with loud hip hop music and we could hear everything.

It was more so the base and sounds of DJ speaking that could be heard,

You can hear everything in the hallway through your room door and I'm sure vice versa.

If you come to this hotel make sure you are not next to elevators because the elevators are very noisy.

My only complaint was that all night people would walk by the room and talk loudly (2, 3, 5:00am etc).

It was a bummer to be woken up early from the sun shining through.

My room was right in front of the elevator door and I could hear an awful “beep beep” sound from my bed every time someone was using the elevator on my floor.

but anything from 12-17 is guaranteed to have a look on the building that was built in last three years and If you like to sleep with open window as the fans on the side of 9-16 are pretty loud.

Terrible noise from night club and drunk people in the street and cars.

Unfortunately the doors don't isolate noise very well, so you better hope your neighbors don't come home in the middle of the night.

Fortunately I was aware that noise from the club was a potential problem before I booked our room.

It didn't help that from about 12-3am there was constant yelling out in the halls from people coming and going.

And the bridal parties continue to be extremely noisy screaming and laughing in the corridors. .

Occasionally when I drive to Manhattan for business, I don't want to deal with the traffic of getting into and around Manhattan.

Unfortunately we had no idea we would be staying the night of the St. Patrick's Day celebrations so I was concerned about the noise,

The lounge is extremely noisy with music.

And later that night around 1:00 am, there were a group of drunken people running, laughing and yelling loudly in the hallway.

The noise levels are acceptable and then "club like atmosphere" many Ws are known far doesn't come through too much.

Food at the brunch was excellent, all very well organised.

There are some nice places to eat around.

Good choice of gluten-free breakfast options both in the restaurant and for room service.

Only ate at the hotel once, via room service and the lady who brought the food was really good.

The restaurant and bar are both good too.

Several cool parks, along the Hudson, are just outside the hotel as well as lots of bars and restaurants.

I stayed in a Courtyard (another Marriott chain) 2 weeks ago and they had much, much better amenities than this W, including food, coffee, parking, etc.

Lots of food options just walking distance away.

Breakfast was tasty and enjoyable also with the views over the river.

Halifax Restaurant in the hotel is also nice for dinner and drinks.

The best hotel view in Hoboken, great service, great main restaurant.

The Bellmen staff and room service staff are extremely helpful.

We were 3 staying in a room with 2 queens, very spacious, spotlessly clean and fresh modern decor.

I was in room 1208 and I look forward to visiting again.

The room is well appointed and has everything needed for comfortable stay.

I love staying in Hoboken, its a great town to get away from a day in NYC to unwind.

Hoboken is just a wonderful gem of a town with so many good restaurants and a beautiful waterfront with a jogging path, parks, playgrounds, soccer fields and live music some nights.

Been staying here for the last couple of business trip and absolutely love the hotel and the town!

Last minor issue is that Hoboken is a great town for young people, lots to do,

Hoboken is a lovely town and the views of city from the hotel (right on the Hudson) are fantastic.

The W was a great way to enjoy the beautiful view of NYC and the Hudson River while walking the town and enjoying a great meal.

Absolutely awesome view of mid town and lower Manhattan.

Very easy to get around in both NJ and can take the Path to Mid town or a ferry.

It is two blocks in the other direction to the main street in town with many restaurants, bars and stores.

Plus, it is very close to the water ferry that takes you down town if that's where you need to be and reasonably close to the 14 th street ferry if you need to get closer to mid town.

Hoboken is a quaint town and terrific to take a stroll in.

but we were pleased to have stayed in this very charming town.

I would highly recommend this location for a few notable reasons: 1) Hoboken is a great little place with a variety of restaurants, safe (highly important to families and out of town guests) and a welcome retreat from hustle of NYC.

All said, the hotel is nice and well situated to go to mid town Manhattan via the PATH.

For a night on the town, or quick stay, worth it,

But, there will be no need to use it as Hoboken itself is a very cute little town if you walk towards the PATH station.

It's a beautiful hotel with incredible views.

I wanted to highlight the professionalism and communication with Alex from the Welcome Desk who was able to accommodate us in a very comfortable Double with beautiful views of the cities.

I reserved a "spectacular" room which is top tier room guaranteeing a spectacular view and a higher floor.

They get 2 stars, one for a clean lobby and one for a nice view of the river.

Being a silver member was able to get an upgraded view upon request which was a huge plus.

I had an amazing stay at the Standard for my 30th birthday.

I came here for my birthday and my check in alone made my whole experience worth it at the standard.

Thank you to Mandy for her efforts to make this birthday gift an extra special.

Wife birthday they up grade the room when we got there early check in view from room was fantastic.

She also sent a complimentary Rose to my room for my birthday !

Truly enjoyed every moment of the stay here and it was the perfect selection for a birthday!

The staff was wonderful and upgraded to a suite for my birthday.

I took my husband to the city for his Birthday and this Hotel was so AMAZING, very clean, spacious and the views were breathtaking.
