Clean and neat rooms that were relatively quiet despite close proximity to heavy traffic going to and from the Holland Tunnel located nearby. The "Very Good" rating would probably have been closer to "Excellent" had the breakfast area had more than only 2 (!)

The breakfast was fine, if not overwhelming.

Breakfast was pastries, good coffee and some fruit choices.

Very nice continental breakfast in the mornings, staff was very kind and welcoming each time you'd pass through the lobby.

Property is clean and our room was spotless and morning breakfast bar and free parking are an added bonus..

but good breakfast and close to the Path.

though it's just a continental breakfast, the pastries were totally delicious!

The breakfast spread that they put out each morning is great and just what you need to get the day started before you walk all day.

This hotel was very nice, free parking and free breakfast.

The check-in was smooth, rooms were comfortable, well serviced, breakfast was ideal and coffee was unlimited.

Although we didn't take any, the continental breakfast looked wonderful.

The continental breakfast was excellant every morning with pastries, fruit, yogurt, coffee and OJ.

They offer free wifi, parking, basic breakfast, all that combined with the cleanliness of the place and friendliness of the staff  - in my opinion that's the perfect combo right there.

One of the cleanest hotels I've ever spent the night in and super friendly staff.

The Bad: No elevator, dated interior, no closets, room was in the basement, dried urine on the toilet seat, half empty shampoo and not cheap!

The Bad:  No elevator, dated interior, no closets, incredibly basic breakfast, a maintenance guy came in my room while I was in there said, "Oh someone's in here," and I said, "yeah, someone is."

Lack of elevator and place to sit to eat continental breakfast are the only things keeping this from and an excellent rating.

4) No lift, if your in the basement you need to carry your luggage up and down by yourself.

There is no elevator which means you have to lug your luggage upstairs.

Listing should state no elevator because it was tough hauling my full suitcase up a flight of stairs!

There are no lifts and they have rooms in basement.

The only negatives were that there is no elevator so be prepared to carry your bags.

On the down side was the stairs (no elevator), and the smell of a musty rug in the hallway.

I was traveling with carry on luggage only so I didn't miss an elevator.

There are no elevators so it is a nuisance carrying up the luggage.

Couple of disadvantages - there is no lift in the property.

Book a room overlooking the parking lot if you want quietness and remember the lift does not work on that side, so ask for a low floor.

The breakfast is small and you have to carry it to your room, no elevator around and no breakfast room available.

Bear in mind that the hotel doesn't have an elevator.

Minuses:  (1) Not high end, plain to the bone; (2) Room decor not modern nor chic nor pretty; (3) no elevator.

The value improves because of free parking.

It’s an easy commute using the PATH train and subway into NYC and the parking is free which is a real plus.

Its a quiet clean motel with fridge cable, free parking and breakfast.

Free parking is the real hook for us, and the reasonable price.

The Good: free parking, free breakfast, free wifi, Burger King shares parking lot, gas station with Dunkin Donuts inside a few minutes walk, in room safe, microwave and mini-fridge.

We had the chance to visit NYC this week, and decided to book rooms at the Holland Motor Lodge, mostly based on the reviews I found on Trip Advisor, and the fact that the cost was 50% less than most other places.

Spent 5 nights at The Holland Motor Lodge in September 11 air con was appreciated as was the buffet breakfast.

I've stayed at the Holland Motor Lodge on two occasions while visiting New York and New Jersey.

We needed a place to stay with free parking and private bathroom for our vacations in NYC and I couldn't find a nice, clean affordable place with parking, so I went back to Holland Motor Lodge.

Lots of security cameras all along your walk, My car was parked for free in the parking lot of this holland motor lodge for three days included in the room rate (believe or not), Staff very friendly and committed.

I picked the Holland Motor Lodge based on TripAdvisor reviews (average grade 4.2 out of 5) and was fully satisfied.

We have stayed at this motor lodge (now referred to as the Holland Hotel according to the staff) 4 times.

We went to NYC for the first time and we chose The Holland Motor lodge!!!

This is a motor lodge, so just expect basic accommodations for a decent price.

The HML lodge is a great alternative to the high price hotels in the areas.

After reading the great reviews, we thought we would stay at the Holland Motor Lodge.

We stayed with our 2 daugthers 3 nights at the Holland Motor Lodge and everything was perfect.

We could not have hatched any more expectation from Holland Motor Lodge.

We choose Holland Motor Lodge because of it location - it is located close to the train station and it is very fast and easy to get to New York city center.

We spent five nights at the holland motor lodge and was pleasantly suprised at the size of our room.

We stayed at the Lodge in Aug 2010 and have the following feedback to make:

I went back to the holland motor lodge this June for 12 nights for the second time and it is still everything I was looking for.

It only cost $23 to get from Newark airport to the Lodge on a prebooked taxi and once there the room was more than comfortable with a reasonable standard decor and cleanliness.

I thought the Holland Motor Lodge was in a very good location and only minutes to the PATH train, so you can be in Manhatten in no time at all.

It's a small privately owned hotel right at the entrance to the Holland Tunnel and just a short 10-minute walk to the PATH train that will take you into Manhattan.

Free parking with security in a safe area so you can park your car and walk to nearby Newport PATH Sta into Manhattan ($5.50 RT), walk to shopping nearby at Newport Center mall & several big box stores, and walk to nearby fast food (BK, McD), mall food court or other nicer mall restaurants.

The PATH train into Manhattan is an easy walk (make sure to take cash to buy train cards $5.50 for round trip was the best bargain for us).

Short walk to the Newport PATH station which has a train that goes directly to 33rd and Broadway in Manhattan for $5.50 round trip.

The Holland Hotel is next to the Holland tunnel you can take to got into New York, Manhattan, sight seeing etc.

Still a cheaper option than a private hotel room in downtown New York City/Manhattan, this hotel offered a comfortable stay.

The prices were okay, considering it is right near the Holland Tunnel where a lot of people have access to Manhattan.

The bedrooms were a good size, you don't get that in Manhattan, and the breakfast was fantastic, croissants, bread rolls, pastries, cakes, cereal, orange juice, tea, coffee, yoghurt and fruit.

There is a Newport Mall nearby (5 minutes walking distance) and PATH subway station which brings you to center of Manhattan in 15 minutes.

ensure that whenever travelling to Manhattan in the most efficient way, the "PATH" underground train is most likely the best choice, not to be confused with the "Light Railway" overground alternative which requires  one extra change in Hoboken.

It was well situated to walk to the Path Rail System for travel into New York City.

Excellent property and very convenient for getting into NYC via Path train.

So, it is safe to walk at the dead of the night between Newport PATH station and the hotel despite the distance.

8-10 minute walk to the PATH train which takes you to Manhattan.

This is also near the PATH train which will take you right into Manhattan as far as 33rd street or south as far as World Trade Center.

The only positive things were the location witch was OK only a seven minutes walk from the PATH station that took us directly into Manhattan and helpful staff.

Nicely located, within 15 minute walk to PATH.

It is located in a great location right off the Holland tunnel, and about a 10 minute walk to the Newport PATH station.

We had one day to explore the city 
  The staff was extremely friendly and helped us with the PATH subway.

but very clean, great staff & close to the PATH, which goes straight to WTC or up to 33rd.

The location is so close to the Holland Tunnel and it's about 10-15 minutes walking distance from the Hoboken PATH station.

Located a 5 minute walk from the Path train or 100 feet from the Holland tunnel tolls; 2.50 for the PATH,15$ for the tunnel, you decide.

However, rooms are small compared to what you see in the pictures.

Although the staff was nice, we realized that it wasn't where we wanted to spend the rest of our week (tiny room, smokey/musty in lower hall, noisy outside near road).

The rooms were very tiny, and the beds looked like they had seen much better days.

Its a very small hotel; the rooms are small.

the breakfast is right in the lobby/check-in area, which is a VERY small room, so it does get pretty crowded and the choices of food are very limited.

Listen this is an old style hotel, the rooms are on the small size.

The room though small in size, it was clean, functional and was well serviced daily, did not lack for anything except for coffee / tea making facilities in the room

The smell inside the room was like someone had smoked a pack of cigarettes before we came..the door was paper thin and I could hear every word spoken in the hall.

there is no air circulation in the room so when you take a shower the carpet and all the bedding gets damp and gross and stays like that.

AC is VERY loud and there is some kind of smell in the air.

The cleaning staff was courteous as well. The reason I took away one star is that the room had a weird smell from the cleaning products ( I hope !! )

Well, someone who allegedly always covers his hotel room in filth, 40 or 50 times is likely suffering from something far worse than IBS.

Some rooms are basement level and a little musty.

The hotel didn't have that funky smell in the hall or room that places sometimes have, it just smelled clean!

Also, many hotels who claim to be non-smoking, I have ended up having to leave a day early due to my asthma is extremely sensitive to that.

The rooms, hallways and common areas did not have the heavy odor of cleaning chemicals and phony fragrances; management and housekeeping is to be commended for this.

however the room smelled like it had just been painted with some industrial strength paint.

It was awful - the room was eventually permeated.

The pillow had a cigarette hole in it, and the towels were threadbare,

I strongly recommend this hotel as long as you can put up with a little noise from traffic and the slight smell in the lobby and hallway.

Rooms tired and dirty, whole place smells of smoke.

A good "value-for-the-money" hotel with friendly and helpful staff.

The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area and getting around in the area.

Front desk staff is extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful, especially  Quincy.

Have always felt safe at this motel with the nice employees that work there.

although we already checked out, the front desk lady permitted us to park our car as complimentary for 5 hours which was sufficient for us.

When we booked we were allocated a twin room (due to availability),

3 relate to claims of cancer (2 in September and 1 in July), 2 others because of medical emergencies, 1 due to water damage and 1 didn’t mention the reason.

Inn closed due to serious illness, had to find alternate accommodations.

As I was due to arrive in NY in just 4 days, I tried to contact the hosts immediately.

However days before we were due to leave for the US the apartment we were supposed to get was water damaged after heavy rain.

The kitchenette was a god send for cups of tea and breakfast ( microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge - basket of welcome goodies had teabags, coffee and some small snacks)
Location was great between 103rd (closest)and 96th subways on the green line.

The hosts provide a lovely basket of goodies on arrival - tea, coffee, fresh fruit, cookies and a few chocolates.

Hosts Jonathan and Clement provided us with a beautiful basket of goodies for us to enjoy.

Particularly loved the basket of goodies they left for us.

When we booked this the 2 men that own it, said they were on holiday untill half way through our stay.

There was a welcome basket of goodies, the place was very clean and the towels were soft and fluffy - bliss!

Our room was very comfortable, modern, clean,quiet, with  nice beds, and very welcoming with a basket full of goodies.

Walk a few streets downtown to get to the Gourmet Garage supermarket which had lots of vegetarian friendly goodies.

but refurbished townhouse in East Harlem are clean and serviced every other day with fresh towels and other goodies which made it very comfortable.

The room includes a welcome basket of goodies and some information about the local areas and attractions that is very useful.

We were so surprised to find that we could check in straight away, and then arrived in our cosy room to a welcome basket full of goodies and info on the local area.

It was immaculately clean and basket of goodies, fresh towels, large bed were appreciated.

There was daily cleaning of the room with free and tea & coffee as well as a welcome basket of chocolate goodies, sweets & fruit.

The lodge is convenient to many takeaway food places and good quality restaurants, one being a small Italian restaurant right next door.

We walked from the Lodge to the Met, the Frick, and the Guggenheim.

We used to live in NYC so we know the neighbourhood pretty well around this Lodge.

We quite happily walked to the Met, the Frick and downtown from BB lodge.

The two of us spent one week at the lodge.

Bubba and Bean Lodges is in a great location and I loved the neighbourhood feel.

Just spent 5 nights at bubba and bean lodges and this is just the place for a better value accommodation away from the main New York hub with plenty of space and superb facilities.

They make a big effort (and succeed) to make the lodge look good and the building positively stands out in the neighbourhood.

First of all,  BB Lodges gets a 5* rating from me because it far exceeded all expectations I had prior to my arrival.

What a lovely experience staying at Bubba & Bean lodge in NYC.

but Bubba and Bean Lodges delivers on all counts.

I definitely will use this conveniently located lodge in future stays in New York and wish both Jonathon and Clement all the success they deserve.

We enjoyed the independence the Lodges gave us.

My mom and I stayed for 8 days at Bubba and Bean lodges and we loved it!

After reading the reviews on Tripadvisor for Bubba and Bean Lodges I was convinced this would be the perfect stay for our visit to NY.

I would definitely recommend the Bubba and Bean Lodges and know that when I next visit NYC, I'll stay here again.

Lovely to be in an area which has some life and there are some really amazing good value restaurants just a few steps away.

We loved the area with restaurants all over the neighbourhood, subway just a few minutes walk away and Central Park just 10 minutes walk.

It was one block from the Metro and had lots of eateries close by.

There is a little kitchen, which allowed us to eat some meals at home, which is nice after a long day walking.

The patio filled with plants and a small cafe table & chairs outside our door was an added bonus—delightful!

Super close to the subway station, walkable to the Met Museum and Central Park, and a variety of restaurants.

Resturants and grocery stores all around this area.

Jonathan recommended places to eat and he was spot on.

Lots of places to eat nearby and couldn’t have more perfect.
