A huge shout out to Laurie whose personal attention made my most recent stay [to see Moulin Rouge on Broadway in New York] so fabulously stress free.

There is a free gym and free washing machines in the basement.

Extremely comfortable bed and fast, free WiFi.

There were free weights, mats, and a large ball.

Otherwise the newly renovated rooms the kitchen and free coffee and the laundry downstairs were big plus points.

Checked in hassle free with the help of Aman .

Finally, the Candlewood pantry was a pleasant surprise – free coffee throughout the day, as well as all kinds of conveniences that you can borrow (games, books, appliances, etc.).

The woman at the front desk at check in was GREAT and check in was fast..The hotel was clean and there was FREE LAUNDRY on site.

There is free water, internet possibility and a small shop where you can buy food, drinks and other necessities.

It was weird and very unprofessional) to the other desk agents who seemed uninterested in even engaging with guests and were distant, to the housekeeping woman who didn't realize I spoke Spanish while she talked about me in the elevator with her, (she didn't say anything particular rude,

there was also only 1 roll of toilet paper in the room and housekeeping never came at all in the 3 days we were there so we had to buy our own.

None of the front desk agents nor the manager notified guests at check-in that they would not be offering housekeeping services, only if your stay is 7 days or more.

But truly tacky to be told at check in that there would be no housekeeping service at all.

-They didn't clean my room
-The WiFi didn't work
-Multiple areas had this weird smell like cigarette smoke
-Half the laundry machines were broken
-Card readers to common areas, including the one to let you into the building, didn't work or only sometimes worked

The only minus was the once a week cleaning because of the pandemic.

Laundry powder/soap had to be purchased at reception for $2US per wash.  On one occasion, I went to use a washing machine only to discover the only one available was not working and the others were in use by hotel staff washing their cleaning cloths.

The only negative thing is the cleaning frequency (only once per week).

however no cleaning was done on the 2nd day of my stay.

We couldn't believe that they don't clean the rooms even on alternate days

There is no cleaner that comes in during the stay

This hotel is considered an "extended stay" resort, therefore they do not clean the room daily.

So no cleaning policy makes the place a little smelly.

Forgot to do housekeeping, not a good sign.

Basically there is no cleaning at a short stay, I didnt mind at all, how dirty does it get in 4 nights and it is easy to ask for new towels.

I travel a lot and would not recommend this place for the reasons that follow: 1) unfriendly and overwhelmed staff ; 2) grimey room 3) small bathroom 3) no room cleaning 4) gym in the basement was isolated and felt so unsafe 5) dirty street full of trash 6) Paying a fairmont price for a motel 6 experience.

but the total lack of housekeeping means the room - especially the bathroom - is not clean-  to a level of unsanitary.

The hotel’s special feature is that every room has a kitchen with microwave, fridge, stovetop, sink with garbage disposal, and dishwasher.

Also had a kitchen in the room which would come in handy if you needed it!

Our room had a fridge, microwave, and cooktop, which would have been great for a longer stay.

We stayed there for 5 days and whilst the location was ideal and it was great having a fully functioning kitchenette in the room there were a few things that soured our experience.

There's a full kitchen inside the room with everything you need, cookware, forks, knives, whatever.

The rooms were clean, the beds comfy, extremely friendly and helpful staff, and its useful to have the fridge in the room.

It was very convenient to have the kitchenette right in the room.

The laundry was fine for washing my clothes

I also loved how they had a gym and self-service laundry facilities.

The room was spacious and had a full mini kitchen including a dishwasher and laundry facilities downstairs.

It was also great that they had an in-house laundry room.

The laundry was free which I thought was great, and staff were very helpful and friendly (Janelle and Darlene especially).

It was great for a stay longer than a few days with a kitchenette, gym and laundry facilities included.

The machines looked fairly new, and were easy to use (the room comes equipped with a laundry basket too).

the location is excellent, the value very good, and the laundry and gym are all wonderful additions as well as a reasonable price for New York.

The room was quite large and the free laundry (bring your own or buy soap) was a reason I stayed there as its so rare for a NYC hotel to have that amenity.

The location is good, between Penn Station a couple blocks to the south and Port Authority to the North.

The location is convenient, near Port Authority and Times Square, and many other hotels nearby.

Location - Hotel is a few minutes walk to Times Square and a minute's walk to Port Authority Bus Station.

Location is very good, 5/10 minutes walk from Port Authority for the subway, plenty of decent local eating places close by too.

We were very pleased with the location of the suites - easy to get to either from 8th or 9th avenue and a short walk to Port Authority transit station and a 7/11 on the corner and only around 10 minutes walk to Times Square

Easy peasy to head out from port authority to Newark airport.

It was very close to Times Square and the Port Authority Bus Terminal/Subway stations.

It is 2 blocks from Port Authority and as we took the bus in quite convenient.

The closest metro is only a couple of blocks away, and Port Authority is close too.

That being said, now, great things first:
- Well located near TImes Square, the main subway roads and Port AUthority Bus transit.

It is within walking distance to Penn St Station, Macy's Port Authority etc.

39th street is close by Port Authority Terminal, 42nd Street subway, Times Square etc, so a great location and not noisy.

This is within close walking distance from 42nd & Port Authority (where bus from Newark arrives/departs) and reasonable walking distance from 34th & Penn Station.

However, it is less than 5 mins work from the Port Authority Bus Terminus on 42nd Street, which is a stop for Airport Buses and a major subway station.

Near Port Authority Bus Terminal and Times square.. Staff were helpful at all times.

Stayed for Bruce Springsteen concert at MetLife Stadium
This hotel was located in two blocks away from Port Authority, which was very convenient for me since his show ends around midnight and there was a direct bus service from the Stadium.

We really enjoyed the proximity of Time Square and Port Authority Bus Terminal.

The pillows were basically pancakes that smelled so musty that I had to use my sweatshirt as a pillowcase.

Turned on the heat and the room immediately smelled like burning and set off the smoke alarm.

I have travelled extensively all over the world and I must say this hotel would have been acceptable  except for the filthy carpet.

And then I was put into a room that reeked so badly of bleach it smelled like they were trying to cover a crime scene.

It was completely disgusting we had to leave the hotel after shaking out our clothes and bags and shoes to find a couple of them had made their way into our stuff as well.

The AC is noisy and smells like old lady perfume,

When we got back there was a new bath matThen I noticed the toilet had like black mold  stain in it.

The room was tiny and cramped, the toilet made a constant noise and the whole place smelled stale.

My room had a strong smell of smoking everywhere, this despite their signs that this is no smoking hotel.

My room had a faint cigarette smoke smell,

One of our neighbouring room left their stinking thrash outside the door for 2 days straight and the smell was nauseating every time we had to pass it to the elevator.

Went to the gym downstairs It was dirty and smelly The equipment was old and limited.

The only negative point was that every time we put the extractor fan on in the bathroom it smelt quite strongly of cigarette smoke -

There is a stuffy smell that is because you cant open the window.

Over all the rooms were dirty I had hairs all over my bed bathroom was leaking no one came to fix elevator smell like pee.someone walked into our room while we were in the room.This place looks crazzy they all need to work on several things

It was tons of strands of medium length dark hair. Disgusting.

We had no smell of smoke anywhere and I was paying attention due to previous reviews.

The evening we got in, cigarette smoke was coming through the bathroom vent in significant amounts.

The hotel lacked amenities, one of its elevators do not work, the card reader for the working elevator did not work consistently, the front desk staff was not the easiest to work with, and the rooms smelled.

We complained several times about the lingering smell of marijuana and smoke in our room and in the hallways, and elevator.

However it was so small we had Troy Le navigating around the bed and it was situated beside the elevators.

No bell man no valet no luggage carts was stuck in elevator fir 15 minutes all the linen was yellow stained just the worse

Finally on our second day they opened a corridor that led to the conference center and we could use their elevators

The only plus side to this stay is that both elevators we’re working this time.

Between the squeaky elevator, the roach, the condition of the room, and the hallways reeking of ganja, this was utterly ridiculous.

Besides the miserable staff that couldn't make eye contact or smile the hotel had a stench of vomit mixed with dirty Bong water, maybe people like to bake out the elevators & get so High that they then vomit on the floor once they arrive on their floor.

Of two elevators - one is broken making long waits.

but one of the elevators was broken causing a long wait time.

Filthy, busted furniture, smoke smelling rooms, pot odor everywhere, halls, elevator seeping into the room.

Horrible parking, they lost my car keys, two elevators when the hotel was completely booked, staff told us there were no stairs.

Also in order to ride the elevator you need to use the room card i wasn't told that took me a minute to figure it out.

-	Elevator and many areas of the hotel smell like weed.

2) Parking is now 20ish $ whereas in 2008, it was free.

though a poster at the P4 Hotel Shuttle picj up place at Newark aiurport says breakfast is free of charge, this is not true.

unless you are stranded and homeless and offered to stay there for free . .

Loved it I would recommend on any given day possible, extremely comfortable and stress free environment,it's a lot of channels to watch and a decent side television, a real nice friendly staff that's on point with Five star service,

On the positive side, the rooms are decent and are fairly up to date and they have a free shuttle to the Newark airport.

Many people have commented on the great free breakfast.

Very nice hotel operate a free shuttle bus back and to the airport/Penn station 24 hours which was fantastic.

Ended up staying here after a flight delay, they operate a free shuttle bus back and too to the airport 24 hours which was fantastic as we were quite late arriving.

The hotel has a lot of history and serves free breakfast enough to fill you up to start the day.

I booked this hotel because it had free breakfast and a free airport shuttle to EWR.

Penn Station in NYC at 33rd its the perfect spot for travel if you don't want to pay city prices for hotels and free breakfast daily its just right .

Oh, and if you are a vegetarian/vegan good luck with the free breakfast - not too much to choose from there.

Asides from that, the hotel is in a good location from the train station for travel to New York etc, and the hotel offers a free shuttle bus.

The free shuttle runs every 30 minutes to the airport and Penn Station.

We wanted to take the train into NYC one day, and someone in our group could not walk far, so we wanted to take advantage of the free shuttle.

The hotel provides a free shuttle from the airport & the two near by train stations.

There was a free shuttle that picked us up from the airport so that was a good thing.

It was really reasonable, and even to include a free shuttle ride to and from the airport!

I called from EWR for the free shuttle and it arrived in 10 minutes.

we were able to check in early and that together with a free shuttle service were the only good things during this stay.

It's very close to Newark's Penn Station (and has a free shuttle), from which your trip to Manhattan is 20 minutes!

Stayed at this hotel twice Sept 2012 and 2014 both were a pleasure it's an alternative stay if your on a budget free breakfast business center and Newark Penn station just down the street (a skip and a hop to the city ) comfy beds spacious rooms and a roof top terrace that overlooks new York city great hotel at budget reasonable price strongly recommend

It included being picked up at the airport, getting a ride to Newark Penn Station, and breakfast.

The hotel is 4 blocks from the Newark Penn Station PATH train station.

Newark Penn Station is about 15 minutes walk away and the area seemed pretty safe.

The Robert Treat Hotel has nice accommodations, friendly staff, good breakfast and is conveniently located walking distance to Newark Penn Station in the heart of downtown Newark.

It’s conveniently located near Newark Penn Station (12 minutes walk or a 6$ Uber ride), & 1 PATH ride away from NYC (25 min travel time).

Super convenient to Prudential Center (NJ Devils) and Newark Penn Station to go into NYC, which is usually what I'm there for (one of those two, usually both).

Well located property in downtown, with convenient scheduled shuttle to airport / Newark Penn Station.

When I arrived to the hotel the staff was extremely nice and guided me to where to park instructions were simple and straight forward.

The night scenery from the rooms is amazing with an iconic view of the city of newark and the park.

The surrounding area (it's right next door to Military Park) is nice.

There’s a nice park and a Whole Foods nearby.

There is a new Whole Foods just across the park, which is one of your best bets for good food.

Whole Foods Store and Starbucks across the park.

We needed a hotel were we could park our car within a short walk to the train station.

The room with view on the park was excellent, the bed a little gift, after all our packing for international moving.

Being able to park my car was a huge plus.

The area has a nice little park in front of it and pretty decent area with colleges around.

There's a nice park across the street as well as a Whole Foods.

Our room was on 12th floor overlooking a park and church.

We had a great room on the 11th floor with a view of the park and the old church.

but foul is the only way I could describe the smell in the hallway that seemed to be coming from the carpet is my guess.
