Further, I found out that my key card was deactivated - while I left the room with all my belongings still inside.

Just to note, there is a fee of $40 a day service charge which is not explained when checking in.

When we checked in, the front desk person did not explain to us that there is a $40 facility fee charge per day, nor explained the coverage of facility fee until we received the receipt by email after the stay.

they charge your credit card for stuff u do not order after u leave.

We were presented with a final bill which had errors on it and then checked our bank and charges had been made which far exceeded the figure on the bill.

Last night of our stay there ,  they suddenly canceled the key cards  to the room because they had forgotten to ask us for the credit card on the first day and with that way we were forced to pass through the reception.

However, when we came to pay the bill at the end of our trip they had charged us 100 dollars!!

One drawback since my return is that there is still a pending payment on my credit card.

Additionally we were charged for two bottles of water we did not consume.

- You will be charged $40 tax per night on top of the room rate which I guess is standard

Any potential people staying should be aware that the room rate you’ve paid doesn’t include taxes and service charges so check before booking.

I would not recommend this hotel and am in the process of filing a better business bureau complaint and a complaint with my credit card about the excessive $300+ charge for pulling out the pull out couch which was not disclosed.

Yes, I’ve seen AA charged security deposits and Caucasian counterparts not at the same locations!

I found it funny that they charge you for use of a pod of coffee in the room.

Long story short, AMEX had no knowledge of the renovations.

It was also the first time that I have seen a charge if one opts to have a coffee in the room -- $3 per coffee, and that's with no liquid creamer of any sort available -- just the powdered stuff.

There is an AMAZING rooftop pool, adjacent rooftop bar and restaurant, awesome fitness center, and LARGE SPACIOUS rooms.

The Royalton boasts a 24 hour fitness centre as well as a concierge staff who are always ready to help chart your attack on the Big Apple attractions.

There is a fitness center IN the hotel that had everything we needed.

Hotel amenities include a fitness center, spa, business center, street-level restaurant (called Asellina), and two shops (Lacoste and the Juice Press).

Positive: you do not need to wait for an elevator as four elevators for this hotels size is positive

I give four stars as I never encountered five in the US.

The fitness center is a nice size for a NYC hotel, I never had an issue getting on a machine.

Spa and fitness center are also excellent.

this hotel offers a great localisation to visit NY     Nice rooms with large bathroom with a good bath (not always the case in the US)    The swimming pool is amaizing on the roof top with a view on the Empire State Building.

We brought our luggage up to our room on the 8th floor and were thrilled to open the door to a massive room with king bed, sitting area and huge bathroom with soaker tub, separate standing shower and double vanity sinks.

Bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a large sink and a SOAKER TUB!!

My room was very comfortable with quality amenities, a spacious bedroom, desk, sitting area, plenty of closet space and the bathroom was spacious.

If you book the king suite there is a beautiful huge bathroom with a double sink and jacuzzi tub!

The bathroom vanity was large enough for all our toiletries.

I booked a deluxe king which was very spacious and provided a nice seating area and large bathroom.

The bathroom featured a huge trough style sink a large bath with a shower built into the wall above the bath controlled by the mixer tap, the shower was powerful, warm and ery welcome after a day walking around New York.

We stayed here and the rooms were spacious, the bathroom was big and the counter could actually hold all my makeup, curling iron and other stuff.

We had six days at the Royalton and it was way beyond our expectations, the rooms are large, fantastically appointed with huge baths, (a luxury compared to usual tiny 1/2 tubs you get a U.S. hotels) add in a separate shower and dual sinks, comfy sofas, and a great king size bed, add excellent in room amenities you can't have any complaints.

The rooms are large and comfortable, and the upstairs lounge is swank and comfortable.

We were pleasantly surprised by the size of our room and the large marble bathroom.

I intend to use this hotel every time I return to New York. The rooms were large enough for sure, and the emeritierst (pool, rooftop bar etc.)

Fifth- -the back elevator lobby  area smelled like sewer/dirty diaper/garbage through our whole 4 day stay here.

My worst complaint is waiting for an elevator for 10 minutes (because they were having a party on the Penthouse) they dedicated 1 of the only 3 elevators to the guests of the party.

The elevator doesn't work properly and you have to try your card 5 times to get to your floor.

The elevators are difficult to use - the card doesnt quite register your floor so you have to try a couple of times and if you miss it, you either end up going in the other direction (not just me

-: The elevator was operated by a key and was really finicky.

Just got a little lost trying to find it down the elevator. LOL.

We were back in town for the first time ever as ex-New Yorkers, and our rooms were near (but did not back up on) the elevator on the 8th floor.

Let me start off by saying that I was a bit concerned because of the mixed reviews recently left here; complaints of noise from the parties being heard from the rooms, elevators smelling like weed, and bad service from staff.

Ignoring for a moment that the north elevator bank always smells like sewage, there was an even worse experience with smells in my room.

No hotel or front desk employees say hello when you walk through the doors, club bouncers waiting at main elevators to let people up into club frown at you as you try to get to your room (the elevators are shared/next to each other).

The real story started with waiting about 20 minutes to access the check in which has been a long process about 15 minutes more. It continued with 1 lift out of order and another one reserved for non hotel customers (!)

Run down, dirty, overcrowded (with QUITE the interesting clientele), small rooms, WiFi doesn’t work well at all, elevators are incredibly slow and used as service elevators even with guests in them, basic “amenities” don’t even work (such as bathroom sink drain), etc.

The nightclub up top, which we didn’t go up to, had a long line of 20 somethings waiting for the elevator, so probably not our scene.

We enjoyed our stay despite the little niggles: not enough towels left for 2 adults, inconstant turn down service, inadequate storage for a 2 x Queen Room, lifts out of order, very fancy

My overall rating is a 3/5 because the elevator wasn’t functioning and the room felt a bit sterile,

When we got on the elevator, we had to try at least 5 times to get the key card to work so we could get to our floor.

The fitness centre was clean and open 24hrs.

The solution was the Dream Hotel in the Chelsea/Meatpacking district of New York.

It was an easy walk to Chelsea Market, The Little Island, The High Line, The Vessel, Greenwich Village & Meatpacking District, etc.

Chelsea Market at the end of the street, easy access to Meatpacking district, Greenwich village.

By far the best value in the Meatpacking district, and Chelsea too.

Great spot for the younger crowd that enjoy nightlife, since it is right in the heart of meatpacking district.

Good hotel in a nice area - Meatpacking District NYC near many popular eating spots and the High Line.

The hotel is located in the heart of the Meatpacking District and across from Apple Store, Starbucks and Restoration Hardware.

This hotel is right in the heart of the meatpacking district, with many amenities to chose from in such short notice I was able to contact concierge Joseph Sabatelli, and in no time he was able to reserve one of the rarest last minute reservations to Carbone.

The Dream Downtown was perfect for my friends and I in the middle of the Meatpacking District in NYC.

The Meatpacking district is really great and only 15 minutes from the biggest places of Manhattan.

Great weekend getaway in the Meatpacking District.

The location across the street from the Chelsea Marketplace at the crossroads of Chelsea and the Meatpacking District is its best asset.

One of my favourites is the meatpacking district and this is where Dream Downtown is located.

The place is in Meatpacking district walking distance from art galleries, Samsung flagship store with VR experience your kids will be telling all their friends about.

It remains one of my favorite places to stay in the world - an intergalactic oasis that for me feels like a home-away-from home in the heart of NYC's booming Meatpacking District.

Located in the busy meatpacking district within the trendy Chelsea neighbourhood the hotels location is not to far from anywhere and has great restaurants , cafes and shopping within walking distance.

The hotel has a lovely outdoor pool, which was terrific for guests in July who had spent the day touring the city.

We had a room on the 9th floor and the club didn’t disturb us 🤷🏼‍♀️

Pool area is great with a DJ and a beach club feel - you need to reserve & pay extra for a bed

The hotel lobby is very nice and the pool is interesting.

If you're looking for a perfect escape right in the city, I'd highly recommend at least booking a pool reservation for the day -- it truly felt like an oasis and not a hotel right in the heart of the city!

Very modern, stylish place, great swimming pool, excellently located, great service by the staff.

The building is Gorgeous, the pool is immaculate, the service is top tier, and food was outstanding.

He gave us a beautiful room overlooking the pool.

From the website, the hotel has a lot going for it: great location, cool design, nice pool and stunning views from the roof terrace.

The concept of a beach club is totally unique for nyc with a beautifully designed outdoor garden pool, sumptuous chairs and great drinks/ food.

The ambiance was fun and lively and we had a wonderful room with our own private terrace leading out to the pool.

Overall, it's a place to sleep. However for the price we pay and the lack of amenities(no great place to work outside of your room), privacy (thin walls, club entrance in the lobby, etc.)

We lost out on a very expensive meal due to the fridge not working.

If your idea of a great stay is paying $796.61 per night (that includes the seven types of taxes and fees for the city) and receiving very basic service, beds that are low to the floor and not comfortable in a tiny room equipped with a very expensive mini bar, then this is the place for you!

but not only didn't deliver on them, but charged for club access and downgraded the room (for the same price).

You could only sit by the pool until 10.30am then after that you had to pay up to $300 to sit on a lounger so if you didn’t you had to sit on the floor whilst ‘reserved’ loungers stayed empty all day.

I was then told that I would be eligible (a) move to another room (I had already paid for a pool access one and their offer didn't include this) or (b) change hotels and be refunded for the remainder of my stay.

We also found out that you have to reserve pool chairs ahead of time (days or maybe weeks ahead of time, actually) and I was personally told by someone poolside that it cost them $200 for two chairs for the day.

but no one answers..Wish I would’ve paid more attention to reviews.

Hidden fees ( 50 S for facility fee with its corresponding occupancy facility fee and its taxes) so do not believe the price per night announced it goes up by 100$ with these extras and nyc taxes .

but you have to pay for a chair and again some bouncer is able to charge you whatever he feels and there is a line for this also.

Watch out for the 'facilities fee' charge at $50 per day of stay plus taxes.

At check in, we were charged and additional $50 “facility fee” in addition to the quoted rate.

Would strongly suggest avoiding that floor at all cost, not worth the frustration.

Pretty disappointed with my stay - expensive room, and they couldn't even include bar soap in the room, I had to buy my own at CVS.

For the exhorbitant price that I paid for the room, this was not the type of service I expected.

but only if I had to be in that area and received a better rate.

Loud music day and night, i paid $600 a night and couldn't get a wink of sleep as the bed was trembling from the bass.

So: for what you pay per night, this is definitely terrible value for money, and I would not recommend it at all.

However, the music was still loud enough to keep us awake (mainly the bass frequencies).

The noise insulation was not good especially for a hotel with a nightclub attached.

I could here everything happening outside my room. From waking up at 6am one day because the couple in the room next door was arguing to staying up until 12:30am the next day because my other "neighbor" was having a conversation over the phone with a friend (who I could also hear over their speaker phone)

The fans were high up near the ceiling, so there wasn't a constant draft of air.

The "next morning" I was awoken after finally falling asleep as per usual for this stay at 5am when the crowd below calmed down.

Was on the 9th floor and ear plugs and white noise from phone was not enough to keep to sound of the base  beating.

The biggest complaint is from the dance club noise which started around 9:00pm and didn't stop until 4:00am.

the noise is so bad it kept me awake all my last night and I was only on the 8th floor.

If you want to get zero sleep because of noise from the hotel nightclub (think pounding base vibrating through the bedroom) then this is the place for you.

The nightclubs and clientele of the hotel (lots of young partygoers) meant that I was regularly woken up at 4am to loud music, yelling, door slamming, etc.

This is hotel is too loud, too many people walking through the hallways, and you can 
hear the partying.

But the walls are so thin I could hear the room next to me at 3 AM each night.

You just hear constant booming all night like you’re being punched in the head until 4am from the  club on the rooftop & the front desk doesn’t care one bit &  HANGS up on you when you call & complain that you can’t sleep & the sound machine is broke in the room.

But here's a tip for the entire Meatpacking district where every hip hotel has a nightclub or two: its noisy on the weekends.

I would suggest staying in the tower opposite of the nightclub of noise is an issue with you.

I was on a higher floor and the only issue with that, though it did not effect me, was I could hear the club on the top floor until about 230AM, the bass from the music did sort of make it's way down to my room,

We were on the 7th floor, and from Wednesday night on we could hear the bass coming from the upstairs nightclub.

The noise from the nightclub was all night (4am) and we had strange knocks on our door early in the morning (both days).

The location is amazing right by Chelsea market, the  High line and my fave in the city - Little Island.

The location —near Chelsea market and The High Line, can’t be beat.

Great Chelsea location (2 blocks from the High Line and West Side Highway/Hudson River, around the corner from Chelsea Market, 2 blocks from the subway (A,C,E,1,2 lines), surrounded by fun bars/restaurants), clean/trendy rooms, pretty (heated) pool on the 2nd floor (with real sand under some of the lounge chairs-fun touch!

Great views over New York and very close to Chelsea market and the High Line.

The hotel is conveniently located next to Chelsea Market and the High Line.

In a very cool neighborhood next to some really good restaurants, the Chelsea market and high line.

Also the location - right in the middle of the Meat Packing district and only a couple of minutes walk from the High Line and 14th Street metro stop - where you can take the metro out to JFK

Downsides?

The High Line (walk), Central Park (subway), Empire State (subway), Terra Blues (subway), The Rubin Museum (walk), The Met (subway), David Geffen Hall (subway), and paralyzing amounts of delicious food (walking or subway).

Great restaurants, walk to the high line.

This is such a great hotel to visit when in the Chelsea / Meatpacking area   You’re right across from Chelsea Markets and a few blocks from great restaurants and the High Line    You also get access to PhD rooftop bar which is worth the stay alone   Great staff here as well   I’ve been here 4x already and look forward to my next stay

Next to Chelsea Market and The High Line walking park, you really can't miss staying here if you have the cash flow.
