The location is splendid; across the street is St Patrick's Cathedral and the window dressings of Saks Fifth Ave. [It's a short walk to Rockefeller Center or Central Park] But what sets the Lotte apart from other hotels is the staff; friendly , gracious and helpful, especially Rebecca Villasenor.

It’s about 10 blocks south of Central Park.

We walked to Bryant Park, Central Park, Grand Central, Times Square and Rockefeller Center as well as easy cabs and subway access throughout the city.

The location is also really good for shopping with Radio City, the Rockefeller Centre and Central Park close by.

This is a really nice hotel and close to all the big attractions in NYC a few minutes walk from Times Square,  Central Park and very close to the rockafella centre and FAO Schwarz.

The hotel itself is perfectly situated in midtown in close proximity to shopping, restaurants,  art galleries, businesses and Central Park.

The hotels location is perfect, its next to St Patricks Cathedral, walking distance to Times Square and Central Park.

The location of this hotel is perfect for shopping, great dining and simply for strolling along Madison and 5th Avenues as well as within close proximity to Central Park.

It’s a nine hotel in a very good location , very convenient for 5th avenue, Central Park, Times Square, Madison Avenue.

The hotel is in a great location within walking distance to Rockefeller Center, 5th Avenue shopping and Central Park.

Diego, our stellar concierge, found us a beautiful dinner location overlooking Central Park which made it extra special.

The hotel is ideally located so close to Rockerfella Centre, 5th Avenue, Times Square, Central Park.

Walking distance to Times Square and Central Park.

I travel for business and the central mid-town location is so convenient to Central Park, Time Square, and so many other places in Manhattan.

Walking location for theaters,Central Park,and restaurants.

It is an easy walk to Central Station, Times Square, Central Park, and Broadway, yet the area feels just a bit quieter, and we loved getting out early in the morning to wander outdoors around the Rockefeller complex before the crowds came in.

Special thanks to Isabella for helping us cater a superb picnic meal in Central Park, which our family will not soon forget, and to Clara for making us and I daresay all guests who visit the lobby feel special.

Pros
- rooms are very large and clean
- good location, walking distance to loads of sights (Rockerfeller, Central Park, Grand Central Station, Times Square, 5th Ave, etc)
- Maurice - ask for the secret Gossip Girl tour - not just our highlight of the hotel

Central to Broadway, Museums, Central Park and Shopping.

However, rather than having our bags in our room upon our return, we had to go through an additional check in process for keys and then take a blue card to the bellmen station.

I wouldn't be writing this if the Palace was billed as a 3* hotel.

Don't be fooled this hotel is not worth what they charge for it.

The rooms in the hotel no longer have a minibar, do not have a coffee maker or similar and the hotel charges for interntet (more than US$15 a day).

Bed linens were often messy and crumpled despite asking for linens to be changed by putting the card on the bed.

although isn't a huge amount we were frustrated this was something being charged when just about every shop / restaurant / hotel now days offer free Wi-Fi.

We had a very long day after missing a connection at JFK and had just been charged an exorbitant fee for the ride to the hotel.

No more basics (ie turn down service, change of towels etc) and went to the bar for a drink after the theatre. Definitely some companionship business transactions occurring at bar (yes you can assume!)

Unfortunately now they run an overpriced broke hotel, if you want something from the minibar a 35 dollar additional re stock charge.

but this is no longer a 5 star property and shouldn't be billed as such.

The only quirk was there are no charging ports for iphone.

To their credit they left two complimentary bottles of water in the room at all times.

Also WIFI was being charged at 15usd per day extra. 3.)

We booked a car to pick us up from the airport, quoted €326 and on check out charged us €407 with no explanation and a flippant response from concierge.

Another thing that we expect was a kettle in the room with coffee/tea making facilities,  When we queried this we were told to order from room service (at a charge).

The hotel is old, it’s in need of a makeover asap for the prices that they are charging, no space at the bar, we where told to find something of the venue, the room service was awful, there is no minibar in the room and if you find one double check it’s clean!the views are one of the best!

but there are better options with much better customer service if you are booking with Amex FHR.

Outlet on lamp (to charge phone) does not work (and no USB).

Wasn’t advised there was a charge for the internet use, 5 star hotel should give guests free internet and at 15.99$ a day that’s a rip off !

The attention and care she showed my family our entire stay was commendable.

What an amazing family experience we had at the Palace leading up to Thanksgiving (2 adults, 3 kids).

The family suite was amazing- the view of St Patrick’s cathedral was spectacular.

I visited last year with my family and Jimm helped us and went above and beyond.

Truly felt like part of a large family and right at home.

The Towers treat you like family and make you feel like a VIP.

My family and I have stayed at the Palace for years and we keep coming back for one reason – the service.

The Lotte has always felt like a special place for my family and I.

I started coming here about 10 years ago when I started bringing my family in the summertime and this hotel continues to be great for so many different reasons.

He also had a good sense of humor which I love because we are a family that likes jokes.

Our family of 4 (all 18+) stayed in a Tower Suite in July.

Will definitely recommend to friends and family!

Thereafter, Noah followed up with our family to ensure everything was as expected.

If you are going on a solo trip, a trip with family, or a big group trip, Lotte covers it all… I cannot think of a better hotel to stay at.

We went there for a family long weekend and even with the rain, we had a lovely time.

They went above and beyond to make this a wonderful trip for my family  and for that i am grateful.

All the staff was so thoughtful and made it feel like home.

We celebrated my mom's 80th birthday there and they made it feel special for all of us, especially Miles, John and Saleem were so kind - and funny. Thank you for a great visit - we'll be back :)

We were leaving on a 2 week cruise and had lots of luggage and there was plenty of room to navigate around and not feel crowded.

Anna-Marie greeted us with a warm smile & made us feel very comfortable after a long day of traveling.

but most of all the staff at the hotel make you feel like it’s your home away from home.

Miles truly went above and beyond, we felt very well taken care of and enjoyed the interactions we had with all staff immensely.

from the morning cafe crew, to checkin, to the housekeeping staff I felt welcome at every turn.

Norma made us feel very welcome and always has a pleasant smile whenever we see her.

I always feel safe when a doorman looks after you personally.

It’s hotel for celebrities, for dignitaries and for a fab vacation 

Miles made HS feel at home away from home (Lux  home).

She quickly resolved an unavoidable hiccup that arose upon check-in and, for the rest of our stay, made us feel at home by always greeting us by name and checking to see if we needed any additional assistance.

Staying for a long weekend with my daughter he couldn’t have been more accommodating to us and making us feel special!

They gave us a room in which the air conditioning did not work well and it felt very humid and hot, the staff immediately offered solutions in the kindest way of all.

Recently I stayed at the tower section located at Lotte New York Palace on Friday June 16th, the service was great, room was spotless, Sudha Sharma was extremely helpful in accommodating us and making us feel extremely welcomed.

I would get excited to return back to the hotel after a day out because it is so warm and inviting, they make you feel at home.

but it highlighted the size of the room rather than its utility or design touches
•	The TV was so old it didn’t have Bluetooth and there was no other way to play music (not even a bedside alarm clock)
•	There was one USB socket in the entire room
•	The minibar had been removed and boarded shut
•	There was no turn-down service or bottled water
•	There were no in-room tea or coffee making facilities
•	The bathroom was a three-piece – i.e.

I am writing this from my room as the bar doesn't open until 5pm and the foyer is full (and hot as an oven).

However, for some reason every day they would remove the coffee cups and the sugar service, and we had to call down to get it replaced.

But given it’s a 5 star hotel there are a couple of negatives - there is no minibar or coffee maker in the room (although randomly there is a space seemingly made for a fridge).

The thermostat was temperamental and the lights system was weird and dated and there was no fridge or mini bar.

but ours did not include a refrigerator or a mini-bar, was extremely difficult to regulate AC in, and was dated.

Had an empty refrigerator in the corner no minibar and no coffee.

Furthermore, a coffee maker and refrigerator weren't in the room and we had to request them.

The fridge in our room was not only turned off,

Most places I've stayed don't even have a shower chair to say the least a fridge for medical use.

If you’re a red wine drinker, the choices are terrible at $26 and up for a 5 oz pour.

Had to get dressed & go down 27 stories to buy a cup and head back up before my early conference call, and again later in the day while working in the room.

No minibar service without additional stocking cost.

The minibar is completely empty which means if I want sparkling water or soda I have to rely on room service.

Our room had noisy air conditioning, a locked fridge, random days we got water and the first day the bath water was brown.

The only thing I was missing was a coffee maker in our room.

As others have noted there is no coffee maker so I brought my own although there is a cafe in the lobby,

The criminal
We pre paid our reservation and they took the money again at check in (with no receipt) and then again multiple times at check out (again no receipt) .

However, given that it is one of the most expensive hotels in the city, it has to be live up to that level of quality and it doesn't meet the mark.

New York is a very expensive city and the expectation of a 20 per cent tip everywhere is systemic.

but not what I would expect for this price point.

Let’s be clear, I’m not a tourist and so I am rooted in the reality that I live in one of the most expensive cities.

but over priced and - as a resident French person - the idea of paying $6.5 for a croissant in the lobby bakery is ridiculous.

Additionally, the lack of a coffee machine forced us to venture downstairs for our morning caffeine fix, which turned out to be an expensive endeavor.

This October we are returning back to NYC and unfortunately this hotel amazing as it is, is not out of our price range (£1000) more than the mid range hotel we have now booked, nothing the hotel has done wrong its just that for a second visit (something we had not planned on doing) I couldn't justify the expense, that said I certainly know where to go for a cocktail!! !

For 2 drinks and 2 dinners, took about 3hrs, heavy price tag, horrible food.

I guess I was just expecting a little more for the price.

This hotel is comparatively over expensive (hence 4 not 5 star review).

Just very expensive and some of the clientele was obnoxiously loud,

The price per room (weekdays) - and various hotel services - are not worth the expense; $49 for eggs and bacon!!!!

but not included in room rate and generally fairly high prices for relatively small dishes, not sure I'd recommend having breakfast there.

FINALLY 2022 was to be our year, we rebooked again, however the price for the hotel had increased substantially,

The view from our room was amazing with the cathedral and other buildings.

Our room had a great view looking down East 50th street.

I did so and Noah had arranged a different room with the most amazing view of any room I've had in any hotel.

I stayed for four nights and took a room overlooking St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

Positives first - We had a cathedral view room which was great, 4 of us (2 adults, 10 and 16 year old) sharing 2  comfortable double beds

Rooms overlooking the Cathedral definitely worth booking and the location in general is fantastic.

Needless to say the room and the view were absolutelly stunning.

but location is great, the cathedral view rooms have a beautiful view and although the built in minibar fridge is locked, they will bring you an oversized mini fridge and water bottles.

I was on a high floor (32) hence had a great view from my room.

The property is beautiful from reception to the wonderful view from our room.

The view from this room, on the 45 floor, was also very good overlooking St Patrick’s Cathedral and the Christmas tree at the Rockefeller Centre.

The staff was very friendly and the room had a great view of St. Patrick's Cathedral and midtown.

The rooms are nice and the cathedral room view will knock your socks off.

The views from the rooms are spectacular and I was pleased with all the Covid precautions….I felt very safe having my family here.

Excellent location, friendly efficient staff, clean, nicely appointed rooms, good amenities, great views from the room.

To begin with, we woke up and no longer had cell service in our room (and Wi-Fi is a laughable $15/day).

The elevators are a bit slow, they were a few times during our weeks day that it took over five minutes to get an elevator, they should find a way to increase the speed or use additional elevators to help lighten the load?

I approached the desk twice during our stay and, both times, the attendant was on a mobile device and I was not acknowledged.

Running the bath delivered brown water, we didn't phone reception as we had seen others had had this problem, so it was a quick in and out of the shower

Wifi was quite expensive, so we didn't purchase and used this around the area (where there was  free wifi).

I will say, after paying for a 2 BR suite during thanksgiving which equates to thousands…having to pay $15.99 per day for internet was a new form of cheapskate and pretty pathetic.

For a 5star hotel I don’t think you should have to pay for Wi-Fi at all and $15 dollars a day was ridiculous!

The check in was matter of fact with virtually no information given (not even details of Wifi) The first night we hardly slept - we were allocated a room with 2 beds which I would class as large singes - for 3 people- meaning that the two of us sharing one of the beds had a very uncomfortable night.

You have to pay extra for WiFi and any food is rather expensive so we ate out in the many restaurants in the area.

Now, some of negatives:
Wi-fi charge - as a standard, the hotel charges USD 15,99/day for wifi.

I was very disappointed with her surly attitude and left immediately, not having the time or inclination to register all my personal details for a few minutes of WiFi.

but I feel ripped off paying this amount per night only to have to pay more for internet.

I heard a little noise coming from the next room including the sound of the blinds being closed (you pull a chain to close the blinds and they make a loud noise)
Technology * Small TV on a stand, no WIFI detected in room.

The one thing I didn't like is the $15.99 daily charge for WiFi in the room.

Another thing I felt they could offer was WiFi instead costing I think about 15 dollars a day.

- if you want products in your minibar, there's a 35$ charge
- in 2021 you have to pay 16$ a day for internet?

The only flaw I could find is the lack of an elevator, if you’re located on the last floors is not optimal.

Chelsea Pines has five floors and no elevator so I requested and was given a first floor room just before the breakfast area.

That there was no elevator was known up front.

The toilets are tiny and uncomfortable
- Accessibility - the listing says “no elevator”, what they don’t tell you is that you will need to climb to the 5th floor in a narrow and steep staircase
- Breakfast - there is NO breakfast (although they advertise it as “breakfast included”).

The one limit for some people is that there is no elevator.

There’s no elevator, which may bother some travelers (although I didn’t care), and steps at the entrance may make access difficult – if not impossible – for handicapped visitors.

Caveat: There is no elevator for this steep 5-floor walk up, so those with walking disabilities may be discouraged from staying here.

Don’t miss this detail:  it is a walk-up - NO ELEVATOR.

Only negative points would be the lack of elevator.

I was informed my room was on the fifth floor and, no, they don't have an elevator.

My room on the 1st floor was tiny (OK with me) so the abscence of elevator didn't bother me at all.

There is no elevator so there is a possibility of walking up 5 flights (staff will carry your bags).

It felt spacious and comfortable for our family of 3.

Ideal for families, more central you can’t do.

Donny and housekeeping too, met some lovely people at breakfast every morning, family feel for sure.

Recently stayed at Chelsea Pines Inn while visiting family in town and had a great time.

We loved the idea of a family run place with real character and had no qualms about there being no lift.

Our family of four recently stayed at the Chelsea Pines Inn, and highly recommend it.

Staff: 
From the first welcome to the last good bye, everybody is friendly, courteous, helpful and give me and my family not that feeling, you are in a hotel.

The staff is extremely helpful, always on point and they really made us feel like we were part of the family!

Troy, Jay, Jason, Rumel, Louis and the rest, truly makes you feel part of the family.

We were visiting New York to attend a family wedding and to celebrate some recent happy health news.

Stayed here with my family there was 4 of us, the staff are friendly and seem to care about the guests.

The homage chelsea pays to legendary artist of stage and screen with posters from the entrance level to the top floor keeps us motivated before our performers and their customer service makes us feel like family rather than guest.

Jay, Troy, and the rest of the CPI family serve up the VIP treatment to each and every guest.

We are thrilled that we now have a new family to visit in NYC when we return in the future.

Would recommend to all my friends and family and anyone that wants to listen, would definitely stay here again.

From the time we arrived, we were treated like family!

Having booked quickly and only scanning the reviews (which seem generally positive), I felt comfortable that the stay would be decent, esp at $400/night.

At the Chelsea Pines Inn we were made to feel at home.

Very cozy, clean, and felt more like a bnb than a hotel.

I stayed at this place for 4 nights and felt very welcome.

When I arrived at the Inn I couldn’t believe how warm and happy it felt.

If you feel like dining al fresco, the lush, tree-filled  backyard patio is available day or night.

It feels like this place   went thru some sort of major management change from the time I researched booking this place to the time my party arrived

The hotel is reasonable and I feel is value for money

Traveling alone I felt perfectly safe in the hotel and the surrounding neighbourhood.

There are some great bars and restaurants in the immediate area that has a close neighbourhood feel to it.

Location is amazing, and inn feels very safe.

It was so quiet we felt like the only guests on that floor.

but the Chelsea Pines Inn is a real find - It manages to combine all the best elements of a cool NY hotel and a small b&b type of accommodation: It's comfortable and stylishly decorated, and also friendly and welcoming (without the overly-intimate feel of a typical b&b).

Great location in what felt like a safe area.

I stayed for a week and felt quite at home there.

It is extremely convenient for the subway (a 2 minute walk away) and you can walk to Greenwich Village, the shops of 8th Avenue, the Highline, Chelsea Market and many other places.

An amazing location for Greenwich Village, Meatpacking  District and Chelsea Market,  and so we'll connected on the subway.

Also the location is great, being close to the subway station, Chelsea Market and Greenwich Village!

Walking distance to Chelsea Market, Union Square, Highline, Greenwich Village and more.

but welcoming guest house in a great location - it’s quiet but only a few minute’s walk to Chelsea market and Greenwich Village.

The location is second-to-none - it's on the borders of Chelsea, Greenwich Village and Meatpacking, and the subway is steps away.
