Hotel very shoddy, lots of refugees/homeless staying in guarded basement, our room on 13th floor lefta lot to be desired, one of baths & shower not working, plug sockets faulty, no bedding for sofa  bed, they seemed to put the americans in best rooms and all others in shoddyrooms, handles hanging f doors, avoid at all cost

The air con unit had big gaps to the outside and we had to call guest services who came and put a plastic cover over it to block the draft.

My husband t shirt fell behind the unit below the tv when we got it back we found at least two other t shirts plus  numerous other items …

After changing one room as window was broken and was freezing I know we were not going to spend much time in room as wanted to explore we couldn’t wait to get out of dirty room and get in late

People in the downstairs rest rooms smoking weed, Our room was ok on the 11th floor one radiator was blowing out cold air, no pillowcases on pillows on check in, when you’ve seen dirty pillows you can’t un see them.

but heating on so room was very hot and uncomfortable.

but still not up to standard but possibly livable for a few days.

Well….. After a long day of travelling, a long transfer and a poorly child we got into this room, it was awful, I cried, it was dirty, the blinds were stained with dirt, there were bits and dust on the floors, the air conditioner unit in the wall was letting the coldest New York air blow into our room due to massive gaps around it, I had to pack the gaps and wrap the unit with towels to reduce the cold air into the room.

ACS did not work which is why we had to change room three times.

but it was super noisy because we had to choose between the really loud air conditioner unit or the 24/7 construction happening next door.

There were dangerous leads running from the airconditioning that blocked the windows.

There was also a noisy, dirty AC unit in the window which was right next to the bed.

The outside looks like an old apartment building with dirty air conditioning units in every window.

The window mounted air conditioning was from the 1970s.

The AC units are old, have cords hanging down the walls and are very noisy at night.

air conditioning is too noisy, bathroom too small, carpet smells bad!

The bathroom cleanliness was questionable, i wasn't sure if it was dirt or miscolouring.

Both of the rooms were shoddy and unclean, particularly the bathrooms.

I still don't understand why they even charged a deposit of $300 when there was nothing in my room to spend on, no mini-bar, not even a shower gel..only some ratty towels.

The furniture itself is also precarious, the shower was disastrous and part of the tub was broken, and we had half of the amenities.

We were shown 4 different rooms each as dirty as the other with damaged furniture, dirty bathrooms, stained carpets,broken window blinds with dirt and dust everywhere.

The bathroom was small and the shower was tiny, I had to get out of the shower to wash my feet otherwise it would be washed off before I could clean them 😂.

As an example, when using the toilet in room 1427 you are facing the washroom door.

The shower head was very loose and dirty.

The carpet was ripped, headboards and nightstand covered in a variety of different stains, bathroom sink was leaking, and the tub literally had fixtures falling off.

Hotel was less than par stinky rooms bathrooms smelled of pee, we changed room three times and then, even when we settled for the last room.

First room, got out of the lift to the smell of dirty uncleaned carpets, found our room and that was even worse, dirty carpets, walls, blinds and bathroom.

Nice lobby, leaking commode, not enough towels, side street has a locked door, keeping out the homeless sleepers at night.

There were 4 of us, and the maid would only leave 3 towels, we had to buy our own toilet rolls as they never refreshed them, when we were in one morning and asked for one when the maid came she was suprised by the request and had to go look for some.

No bedspreads or blankets; furniture horribly scratched or broken; bathrooms dirty enough that my children refused to use them without towels on the floor and bottom of the tub; gaps around air conditioners allowing December New York winds into the room strong enough to move the privacy blinds; carpet stained and filthy; etc.

Broken blinds and chairs with ripped fabric, visible dirt in the room, sticky surfaces in the bathroom.

Came with my family and received the best customer service from both Alexia and Jennifer at the front desk (thank you ladies for making our stay so memorable and magical).

I would definitely stay here again based on the incredible customer service

I have another trip planned for the end of the year with a bunch of friends and I am DEFINITELY  going to stay at the Stewart Hotel just because the customer service Danielle and Andrew provided me was the best I’ve ever experienced!

It returned it to hotel usage in 2004 as the Affinia Manhattan Hotel, and was renamed the Stewart Hotel in 2016(wiki map).

I am so glad we discovered Stewart Hotel because being able to book 4 double queen bed rooms at the last minute is such a rare find in Manhattan!

The location of the hotel is in a busy part of Manhattan.

Was a very nice stay in the middle of Manhattan, made the trip with our friends a very easy and fun filled time.

The Stewart hotel is a very historic and iconic hotel right in the heat of Manhattan.

Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed, received great advices & tips about the city, shops, restaurants and places to see here in Manhattan.

Nothing beats the view from one of their terrace suites, and the central location has you just minutes from anywhere in Manhattan.

The Stewart is conveniently located in the heart of Manhattan, near all major Transportation and Entertainment.

great location We would not hesitate to come back to the Stewart Hotel in New York City Manhattan.

Located in the heart of Manhattan, a skip away from Macy's across from Penn Station, the Stewart is an old, charming New York landmark.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Manhattan.

Run down, thin walls- you can hear everything outside including your neighbor, good location, pull pit bed full of stains, bath tub peeling paint.

Although an ambulance did arrive after a while all the staff done was rope her off like a vip, no help given.

We did get noise from hearing the fire trucks and sirens next door.

The hotel is on 7th avenue opposite Penn station it's going to be noisy, bring ear plugs we were on the 15th floor and I slept like a baby!

They started their works from 6 in the morning and also workin partly through the night - really annoying and disturbing as you can really not  find  a quiet moment to  sleep- extremely noisy !

I await to hear their "so sad to hear your unpleasant experience and will try to improve ".

The two bed room was really noisy and we did not sleep at all.

This makes the area very congested with a lot of noise.

First room we got on the 4th floor was dirty, noisy and lacked bedding.

but can be very noisy outside from 6am onwards.

The windows would not seal so we heard 7th Avenue all night, from the 21st floor, despite bringing a noise machine I used in Brooklyn every day.

The rooms were very small and very dirty in particular the bathrooms, The airconditioner was rattling and making loud noises making it difficult to sleep.

Stay somewhere else, Stewart Hotel is a nasty place in my opinion and you won't be happy with your stay.

The floor we were on had a vert distinct smell of weed the whole time we were there, despite not being able to smoke in the hotel!

but the staff are amazing and helpful, I didn’t as some have mentioned find it ‘disgusting’ and I struggle to see why anyone would.

It is dirty and disgusting and the manager and staff are rude and unhelpful.

I have literally never in my life seen anything so grim and disgusting.

It was filthy, covered in old dirt and coffee stains.

The worst part was the bathroom again very old and tired looking with mould and brown tile grouting.

Do not stay here unless you enjoy paying hundreds of dollars to sleep in filth.

We purchased sprays and candles to get the smell out.

Second room, didn't even walk through the door, you could see from the door that it was not much better and the smell of weed was overpowering, not a chance two children were going to stay in there.

We had to try four different rooms before settling in (the first one had broken lamps and dresser and a strange cleaning tub in the closet, the door on the second one would not open, the key entry on the fourth one was broken and the one we stayed it had peeling wallpaper, disgusting stains on the floor and the enamel in the tub had been worn away, leaving a moldy, gross, tub).

The first room we were offered had torn carpets and the blind was filthy.

We given a room on the 4 th floor and were told someone would be along to make up another bed on going into the room which can only be described as zero star I was shocked at the dirt the carpet was filthy, stains all over the sofa on which I was to sleep and the bathroom had not been cleaned at all.

Very deceiving as only the lobby looked exactly like the photos posted online.

The cleanness of the Lobby, stairs and elevators was very well.

The lobby is decent at best, the pictures online are nowhere close to how the rooms are.

Totality recommended to anny one hoo wants to have a good experience in the hotel Stewart hotel the service is high quality good experience in the lobby in the room the clean of all the place I'm very happy

The lobby area was inviting with plenty of seating.

The location is excellent, the price very attractive, you arrive at the lobby and this is modern.

The lobby is maintained very well creating comfortable yet luxurious ambiance.

but that it wasn’t quite ready, we were given complimentary drinks and snacks from the Corner Store whilst we waited in the lobby.

The lobby was nice, tasteful and decorated for Christmas.

We started in the lobby where the former old elegance was modified with a cheap looking modern makeover.

She remembered me from one week to another and came over to say hi when I was in the lobby.

The lobby is very lovely, art deco appearance.

Needed separate wi-fi login for the lobby.

The lobby is beautiful and has a modern design to it.

Steward Hotel staff Karl, Van, Marceau, Ash and others in the lobby and at the door are important to our visits.

The lobby and reception areas set a good first impression and I have to say that all the staff a very nice, and very professional.

I also like the little café downstairs and I found the Lobby classic and charming.

The lobby is decorated with such great furniture, it’s instagram ready.

The location is good just a few moments from Macys, and around 15 mins to Times square.

We originally booked Times Square region having visited twice before so knew the location we wanted.

Hotel location is a 10 min walk to Time Square and a 5 min walk to 34 street under ground, Penn station is across the road from the hotel.

I recommend Tryp by Wyndham in Times Square.

PROS:
- The hotel location provides easy access to Penn Station (for the subway, Amtrak, NJ Transit, and Long Island Railroad) and is close to Madison Square Garden, Broadway, Hudson Yards, the Empire State Building, Times Square, and the NY Public Library (the cool one).

We love that it is walkable to great areas like Time Square and Harold Square,

Subway accessible, Times Square, Macy's, Hudson Yard, Highline, Flatiron Building, Madison Square Garden, Madison Square Park, Empire State Building was all walking distance away.

It was literally within walking distance to Times Square, a rooftop restaurant we went to, and Korea town.

We chose this hotel for its proximity to Penn Station, Times Square and Broadway as well as the beautiful photos online .

Times Square within walking distance, and great restaurants close by.

The location is convenient, metro stations (Penn Station and 34st/6Av stations); places to eat all around, times square/empire state is close if you want to walk.

); location (about 600 metres from Times Square); directly opposite Penn Station & subway; close to supermarket, cafes, restaurants (try Friedman’s on 31st St for breakfast); close to Broadway; opposite Madison Square Garden if sport is your thing; easy commute to The Met Museum & Museum of Modern Art; wi-fi; fridge; microwave; VALUE 

Minus: carpets need replacing; a general freshen up wouldn’t go astray; noise - it’s directly above a fire station & they must have a lot of fires in NYC as the trucks would have sirens going 24/7; also street noise is always there

a 4 day trip to NYC with my family was a brilliant experience and the hotel is located in a great position with walking distance to Times Square.

Hotel has a perfect location and easily walkable to Times Square .

a God walk to Times Square and the 9-11 Memorial.

While not a glamourous area, it was right opposite Madison Square Garden and Penn Station, within an easy reach of two subway stations and our room even had a view of Times Square.

Korea town is a block away, Times Square is a short walk away.

Subway is easy to use and Times Square is a 15 min walk away and Empire State Building is around the corner.

Near MSG for our concert with Billy Joel and ease to get to Times Square.

Location of hotel is perfect for access to Times Square and all other attractions.

Was excited to see the cool, hip design and vibe,  which didn't disappoint.

but as a 53 year old business traveler, it's definitely too cool / hip for me.

Overall hotel has a younger more hip vibe than a traditional NY hotel.

It was super Hip hotel that I can feel the energy of new york.

The property gives a hip & cool vibe and the amenities are awesome.

The central location suited our tourist activities well and the hip decor made us feel cooler than we are.

This is an eccentric specialty hotel for hipsters, not really a good choice for business travel.

What a hip, cool, trendy, instagrammable hotel 👌🏼 We spent lots of time using the bar area and facilities during our stay.

The hotel is very hip - I was a bit worried that our 9 year old wouldn’t be welcome in all the communal areas.

I work for Renaissance Hotel, Moxy provided a similar hip and fun vibe that I very much enjoyed.

The rooms are hip and quiet, you can hardly hear a peep in the rooms, even from the streets and hallways.

Great location, funky decor, hip bar areas and everything I need for a stress free night in the city.

The atmosphere is hip and trendy, definitely a place to stay if you want to be close to everything and have a party!

but this was very modern and comfortable.

If I were to describe this hotel in two words it would be modern and efficient.

but efficient- clean, well stocked with a modern vibe- comfy beds, soft towels.

but clean and modern, the shower is great (perfect temperature and high pressure),  the coffee shop nextdoors is cozy and nice (they cooperate with Moxy for breadfast)

The hotel itself is modern, fun, & full of bars, restaurants, lounges, & a gorgeous rooftop bar.

The room was clean and modern, and the bed was super comfortable.

We loved the vibe and modern feel of the hotel and the friendly staff, especially having Giovanny help us out when we first arrived.

The service was awesome, and the interior was modern.

The bathrooms are impeccable and modern; there are four elevators and they are very quick, spacious and modern, and the entire hotel has a vibrant nightlife energy.

There is a way to be a funky, modern hotel, that’s practical and clean.

The modern room was clean and spacious, and the hotel's location in Times Square was perfect for exploring the city.

Small issue was the loud music that played late into the night

We hosted a networking event at Magic Hour for 140 people and reserved rooms for our out of town guests at the Moxy.

but this is a hotel for young travellers, ie from age of  21 who want to party in NYC, it was not for me !

but they blast the music so loud that you can't have any meetings or focus on any work.

I was on the 10th floor and never heard the nightclub.

The roof top bar is not a place to have a conversation, music is at a level of a nightclub

The only real down side was the noise from the roof top bar on Saturday it - it was very loud up until 4am.

Since this wasn't explained to me at check-it (or I missed it during the hurried explanation with a line of people waiting and very loud music thumping away), I wound up having to pay for a meal at the overpriced Legasea.

However it is open till 4 am and  is very loud.

If you want a quieter sleep, go above the 3rd floor, as the 2nd floor is a party until late on any given night

Also, had a bartender (Cody, I believe) that hosted me several times while working from their various bars in between meetings.

We should really have requested  rooms on a lower floor as the noise from the rooftop bar was loud and constant until 3-4am.

The air-con which other people we spoke to were moaning about is a joke, it’s incredibly loud and despite turning it off would still start up every half an hour during the night banging away and would literally wake you up with a start!

We were kept awake on Friday and Saturday night by very loud music which we think was coming from the roof terrace bar.

It was not because of normal street noise and sirens; it was due to the noisy nightclub with thumping music til 2am directly above us, and a random 1:30 am fire alarm. While my sister and bro-in-law hustled shoes and coats onto all 5 sleepy kids, my husband and I tried to assist my 80-year-old parents, exhausted from the day of sight-seeing, down 17 flights of stairs (are you kidding me?)
