Accommodation was spacious, spotless and the Hilton Honours app and feature to chat with hotel lobby personnel directly was excellent.

Well located, parking on site, good value, spotless rooms and common areas.

Friendly, extremely clean (and they even cleaned our room everyday which certain places aren’t doing at all), and location was great, very easy to get to mass transit and get to the big city.

Who charges for checking in as "early" as 2:30pm?

Only cereal they had was Rice Krispies/chex for which they charge $8.

Desk manager diagnosed a dead lock battery, had to return to the 7th floor w/me and charge the battery.

Unfortunately, the funds from the initial payment were never returned to my account, and I did not receive any formal documentation or statements from the hotel regarding this cancellation.

Used our daily food credit for being a Diamond member for drinks from bar.

Front desk rep was not friendly just asked for my card and proceeded to charge with bo explanation.

My only problem was that I was charged a $100 cleaning fee after checking out because I left a few extra boxes/items in the room that I did not need.

Its too bad that the stateside hotel ratings are so out of balance with the rest of the world.

You get a $12/pp credit for up to two people per room per day.

Never offered food beverage credit which was highly promoted.

Staff was super helpful, room was clean… my only complaint is the $27 per day parking charge that seems rather excessive

Upon leaving I was charged another $57 to exit the garage.

When I brought a billing error to the GM's attention, Ms. Havey not only fixed the error, she went the extra mile.

Reason was my credit card did not go through due to fraud; She never contacted me for that which was the very first step that she should've taken before invading my privacy and lock me out.

It would have been even better if breakfast was included in the room charge.

but stopped by the front desk to get a card key as well, just in case the app's "Unlock Door" feature didn't work (it did).

There was actually a long line of tourists waiting to get their cards,

but at least they compensated me by paying the charge of the room in the other HOTEL.

No warm cookies and a rushed credit card swipe

I liked the location - close to train station - not that I used it.

The only positive thing was the location.

Overall: the hotel has a very good location, near to the PATH to NYC; the rooms are large and the bed is very comfortable.

However, it was Jersey City (near NYC); therefore, the location is pricier than what we are used to.

I came to Jersey City for the first time to run the narathon there, and this location and place was perfect!

The hotel location is great for PATH, ShopRite supermarket and Target and the local restaurants near Grove Road - Left Bank Burger is a highlight.

This is a great place to stay as  the location and service is the best.

This hotel is a great location just down the street from the Path train that goes right to Manhattan that you can use your MTA card to get to.

The hotel was conveniently located near a PATH train station (maybe a 10 minute walk), and close to a mall with lots of shopping and a few dining options.

the location is really great with plenty around the hotel in terms of restaurants, there is a mall close and the view can't be beat.

The location is near public transport into NYC, walking distance to a mall, supermarket and numerous restaurants.

Starbucks is in the mall and also near the PATH station.

The mall is a five minute walk up the block and the streets are well-lit.

This property is within walking distance of a mall (parking fee required) as well as a grocery store and plenty of eateries.

Also the shuttle they offer came handy to visit nearby malls and walking distance to path and a huge super market is right behind the hotel.

There are plenty of places to eat between the hotel and the PATH station and the Newport Shopping Mall is 5-7 minutes walk.

We were a short walk to the PATH train into NYC and a mall was also in walking distance.

The Newport mall is just 5 min walk from the hotel and a grocery store is located just behind the hotel.

Close to a mall, the Hudson river, shopping (outside of the mall), Target, plenty of eateries.

Hotel is located close to mall and train station to get into NYC.

I prefer to stay here over the hotels in Manhattan (and I’m a New Yorker, shhh).

Also very close to the river with beautiful views of Manhattan.

Being in the New Jersey side of the Hudson River provides you with phenomenal views of the Manhattan skyline at day and at night.

Other than that, the room was very spacious and clean, the staff was friendly, and the location is excellent being close to the PATH station that takes you to Manhattan in a few minutes.

Access to Manhattan is also easy with the subway.

The room was very comfortable and the views of Manhattan and the river was always fascinating.

As we stayed here on our 1st night in New York and were up early due to time zone difference we got some fantastic photo's of the sunrise over Manhattan.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown, Close to large mall, waterfront overlooking Manhattan.

There was complimentary shuttle available for us, which we made use of, to get to dropoff points where we took the water taxi to either Manhattan or Ellis Island.

It is easy access to Manhattan, and not too far from the Newark Airport.

I live in Pennsylvania, I’ve stayed here several times because it’s convenient to stay here and avoid driving into Manhattan.

We had a great view of the NY skyline from our room and it was a short 5 minute walk to the subway for the trains to Manhattan!

During weekdays is PATH connection to Manhattan pretty good,

You can with relative ease drive across into Manhattan, or take the PATH train from a very close station, which is cheap, and easy also.

(Try Sam A.M. for breakfast and go to TapHaus for dinner and drinks -- it's right on the river overlooking Manhattan.)

Easy to get to NY by the PATH trains to 33rd street or by ferry/boat to World Trade Center Area.

Downtown Manhattan is just 2,75 with Path and station is less than 10 min walk.

Opted to stay here as we could get a corner suite which had two rooms, sleeping 6 with city view for 1k - allowing us to have more space in our accommodation and balance with cost of ubers in and out of city (although the PATH train service is super close by and super easy to navigate).

It was perfect in that it was only a few blocks from the PATH Newport station.

The hotel is close enough to a Path station that can take you into the city in a few minutes,

It was very close proximity to multiple PATH stations to take into the city, and they run 24/7.

The hotel location was great for our visit to residents living at Urby, close to great restaurants and less than mile walk to the Exchange Path Station into WTC area.

It was a quick walk to/from the PATH train to the city.

It is located in a great place, not too far from the PATH session which made it super easy to travel to the heart of Times Square.

Location is perfect, just a short walk from New Port Centre and  5-7 min walk to the Path for access to NYC.

Using the PATH train system you can get to Manhattan easily; the Newport PATH station is just a short walk away from the hotel.

Surprised that there is not a monitoring system that gives status of batteries, as in phones and computers.

I was left without any answers or explanations, and my requests for statements or documentation related to the cancellation went unanswered.

Waited nearly 45 mins for them to call Central Hilton Reservations and sort it out, during the time they kept on telling me my reservation was wrong, my reservation did not list the correct points, etc etc.

We even had to call for them to come and take the trash out.

So I asked the front desk attendant if any deliveryman left an order or asked to call my room - she confirmed that no one had been there.

We were told to call back at noon on the day of our check-in to see if early check-in was possible.

Called the front desk multiple times over an hour span with nothing done until my final call.

We actually had to call the front desk for toilet paper (awkward).

When I asked to be moved because this man thinks we are at fault, the woman at the desk told me that I had to wait until the 1st shift manager arrived and until a room was available and if I felt threatened to call and an engineer would walk us out.

but we ran into a major problem with an extremely rude employee who was totally out of line calling the bride 10 minutes before she walked down the isle making impossible demands, not caring about what was going on in her life, only focused on something she perceived that needed immediate attention to clear her plate, forgetting that dozens of rooms had been booked for the out of town guests attending the wedding.

On one occasion, one of the staff had a phone # to the driver to check on the whereabouts and told us that we would have to wait 30 minutes for a ride.

For a Hilton I was very surprised at the number of times I had to call the front desk to get things like TOILET PAPER, coffee pods, cups, and stirrers, creamers and sugars after using the two provided the first night.

At 1231 AM I call and the.lobby tries to throw 5000 hilton honors points at me. Crazy.

She calls the chef (Daniel) over and asks if they still have something for us for breakfast.

Travelling solo business with evening calls, didn't feel like heading out,

Trolley bell rings whenever it passes so if you are a light sleeper don't stay here or demand a different room.

but be sure if you want to order something late that you call before 10:30pm.

The staff did not return phone calls or sent my call to the 800 number instead of listening to my requests.

I just called from my cell phone and upon mentioning the previous two issues, they offered to have an engineer come straightaway.

Fantastic large rooms with coffee, frig and microwave.

The view from the room on the sunrise was amazing.

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms spacious and well-furnished.

Room is large with a seating area, two tvs, comfortable bed.

I immediately recorded a video to show the hotel staff because it was too dangerous for me and for any other customer/employee in that room.

Room was a sweet on 14th floor with 2 queens and sofa bed.

Front desk staff that checked us in and upgraded us to corner room with view for being Diamond members.

Our rooms were very big and the hotel is very noce.

I arrived at 3pm to find the room was ready,

The breakfast has a good selection, the rooms are in good condition and the entire staff (restaurant, housekeeping and front desk) are the best.

Very pleasant stay aside from our room (very end of the building, west side) overlooking the train tracks and trains were passing underneath our window throughout the night.

The two best reasons to stay here: You must have a NYC view room (bring binoculars to watch all the boats, planes, helicopters, barges).

The rooms were plenty spacious for getting ready before the wedding with our wedding parties, the coordination and service for the guest bags, vendors, after-party, and Sunday brunch was excellent.

The rooms were very spacious and well equipped with all the essentials.

It's like they want you to have a chip on your shoulder the minute you arrive, instead of feeling welcomed into the home you'll be staying at for the next number of nights.

The receptionist was great and did a great job.

The hotel's reception staff suggested that the cancellation might be pending on my account and requested me to make a second payment.

We told the reception on Tuesday and Wednesday

However, the staff proved to be inexperienced in the situations I went through in the hotel.

But we contact thr hilton honors assistance and they obviously give us the refund.

Both of which were extremely kind and helpful answering my questions.

That said, the staff were all great and very helpful,

A convenient one block walk to Stop & Go, 2 blocks to the mall and the Path station with trains to New York, 3 blocks one way to several great pubs 3 blocks the other way to some more great restaurants.

Location is excellent, just a short shuttle drive from the Exchange Place station which leads into NYC (or 10-15 minutes easy walk, for those like me who prefer to walk).

Within 8 minute walk to two Path stations with easy access to downtown and midtown.

However, you are a short walk to the thriving JC downtown area and close to two Path stations that will quickly take you into NYC.

the next two days of my stays, I did prefer walk to the path station than ask again those guys for give me a ride, on the other hand the night people were so nice and helpful.

Exchange Place PATH station is approx a 10-15 min walk in the other direction for trains directly to the World Trade Centre.

The hotel also provides a free shuttle within a mile radius that will take you to the PATH stations nearby.

It's located near NewPort station, from where you can take a train to NYC.

It is around a five minute walk to the nearest PATH station, with quick access to either the World Trade Centre, or 34th Street which is close to the Empire State Building, Macys and a few blocks away from Times Square.

PATH station was easy to use 2 platforms one to World Trade Centre & the other to 33rd Street
It was nice to come back to Newport area and relax after visiting Manhattan, looking across to the city at night whilst sitting in a bar was great.

Clean and neat rooms that were relatively quiet despite close proximity to heavy traffic going to and from the Holland Tunnel located nearby. The "Very Good" rating would probably have been closer to "Excellent" had the breakfast area had more than only 2 (!)

The breakfast was fine, if not overwhelming.

Breakfast was pastries, good coffee and some fruit choices.

Very nice continental breakfast in the mornings, staff was very kind and welcoming each time you'd pass through the lobby.

Property is clean and our room was spotless and morning breakfast bar and free parking are an added bonus..

The breakfast spread that they put out each morning is great and just what you need to get the day started before you walk all day.

The check-in was smooth, rooms were comfortable, well serviced, breakfast was ideal and coffee was unlimited.

The Bad:  No elevator, dated interior, no closets, incredibly basic breakfast, a maintenance guy came in my room while I was in there said, "Oh someone's in here," and I said, "yeah, someone is."

Lack of elevator and place to sit to eat continental breakfast are the only things keeping this from and an excellent rating.

4) No lift, if your in the basement you need to carry your luggage up and down by yourself.

There is no elevator which means you have to lug your luggage upstairs.

Listing should state no elevator because it was tough hauling my full suitcase up a flight of stairs!

There are no lifts and they have rooms in basement.

The only negatives were that there is no elevator so be prepared to carry your bags.

On the down side was the stairs (no elevator), and the smell of a musty rug in the hallway.

I was traveling with carry on luggage only so I didn't miss an elevator.
