I stayed at the Westin again whilst visiting the area on business.

So when business took me back to the area, I had no hesitation at all and booked myself into the Westin.

I had the opportunity to stay at the Westin for a night as I had business in the area.

We utlitized their business area, fitness room and even had time to relax in their pool.These areas were always kept up and again, everytime we ran into their staff, they were always helpful.

The location is terrific if you have business in the area.

If you are doing business in the area or need a nice place to stay for your trip to NYC, look no further.

Hotel was clean and room had a great view.

We stayed for a week in early Sep - good check-in and check-out process and decent room with relatively OK cleaning (bathroom had a few hairs from previous occupants); downstairs bar area has coffee machine offering lattes and a few breakfast items,

rooms are clean and beds are comfortable.

You always get great service very clean rooms never been disappointed at this hotel..We got upgraded to a very beautiful One bedroom suite I mean it was extraordinary!!

All in all -- an excellent choice for Jersey City with solid, clean rooms and great service!

Everything was spotless, and smelled great!

My room was spacious, nicely decorated and clean.

Hotel was spot clean and customer service over the top the best   the bath tub with window looking out to the amazing NY skyline.

The amenities provided in the room were perfect, and our room was meticulously clean.

Charged my card $997 first night and not even 12 hours later charged my card an additional $552!!

Platinum members are only entitled $10 breakfast credit for the overpriced snacks.

They over charged my stay by $100 and never gave me a bill so I had to find out on my credit card statement.

I will ve charged for this operation by the bank and wont be refund of this tax.

Note, the unlimited MTA card does not work on the Path, so you do have to pay a separate fare on the Jersey side.

Watch out your credit card bill a few days after you check out the room.

Next, I was charged $5+taxes for Package Handling for a very small parcel.

There is nothing about it that commands a price, muchless a $25+ charge.

However, the metro card doesn't work with PATH so you have to pay an additional $2.75 per trip.

Furthermore, the hotel adds an 18% "service charge" on its meals, then charges STATE TAX on the service charge.

No charge up front,  my card was supposed to be charged at check in.

I had to return to reception 2 times and my card keys just didn't work.

The card reader system is outdated and I got locked out of my room 3 times in a week, two of those times I did not have an ID on me and had to be escorted up (which is good when it comes to security)

I said I only had 1 card, and the 2 dates were written on the back.

Also gift shop workers are rude and for all charges you need 5 dollar minimum.

but keep a very sharp eye on what they charge you cause even a correct bill at check-out does not mean they will not attempt to charge you more later on.

Then I had to go to the front desk twice for hidden fees, once for internet charges on my bill and once for being charged for valet parking for 2 nights when we did not valet.

Unlike any Westin I have stayed at before, there is no power or AC until you put your key card in a special slot.

My wife complained to reception and to their credit , they relocated the guest and her annoying pet to another location , albeit in the same hotel

This is an excellent hotel , and I find it a bit incongruous that they have this policy.

Aside from the restaurant pricing, I have one complaint: Westin charges $9.95 per day for Internet connectivity.

The location is great, easy commute to Hoboken and WTC.

While I prefer the W in Hoboken, the Westin Jersey City Newport is an excellent Plan B.

The location was perfect for trips to NY and Hoboken.

Short ride to nightlife in Hoboken and a 2 minute walk to the path directly into NYC.

The best part is that this Westin is very convenient to midtown, downtown, Tribeca and Greenwich Village via the PATH;  not to mention that Jersey City and neighboring Hoboken have plenty of great spots.

Jersey City has some very good restaurants and easy access to Hoboken, Manhattan and Newark International Airport.

If you have plans to go into NYC or Hoboken, this hotel is a great choice.

This is the best hotel in Jersey City and is very convenient to the Path to Manhattan and the train from Hoboken to the Meadowlands for sporting events (also Newark and Red Bull Stadium).

Close to everything - great restaurants, breathtaking views of NYC, take the PATH into the city or go to dinner in Hoboken.

It is a short walk along the Hudson to Hoboken where there are some very good restaurants on the waterfront with amazing  views of Manhattan at night.

Plus Hoboken is just a few minutes walk away, with plenty of restaurants and shops.

Its location is superb with a mall nearby, PATH close by and the option of taking a walk along the river front and into Hoboken.

Great location in Newport NJ which give a great view of Manhattan, is close to the Path which takes you to Greenwich Village and up to 33rd in 15mins and has easy access to the cool Hoboken scene which also has major train connections.

You are minutes away from the Newport PATH station which will get you to the city or Hoboken, and there is also the light rail.

Very close to the PATH to travel to the office in Hoboken

Great location for Jersey City and the surrounding Newport area, not far from the waterfront which offers a nice walk up to Hoboken and handy for the PATH to take you into New York.

Easy to get anywhere; Manhattan, Newark, Hoboken.

The room was beautiful and clean with great views of the Manhattan Skyline and Hoboken.

We had a great view of Manhattan from our window.

Hotel has a great location, accessible to restaurants, River Walk, grocery and liquor stores, the PATH to Manhattan, and is wider open and seemingly safer and newer than some of the more dodgy areas of Joizey City.

The location, proximity to the river, and the view of Manhattan is unbelievable!

It was only a block walk from the Newport PATH station, and if you don't intend on spending late nights in Manhattan, the inconvenience of using the PATH to commute into Manhattan is worth it.

From the moment that we checked in, we received a friendly greeting and we were upgraded to a larger room with a sitting area and a spectacular view of Manhattan.

If you want to save some money stay here and take the subway (PATH) into Manhattan.

The Westin location is only two blocks from the Newport PATH station to take the subway into Manhattan.

This is a great place to stay; views of manhattan are stunning; PATH train very convenient and the price is right.

Getting back into Manhattan is pretty easy on the PATH (yellow line to midtown from behind the hotel or blue line to World Trade Centre after a 20min walk)

Excellent location with great amenities around as well as short connection by NJ Path to Manhattan mid and downtown.

Going into Manhattan is also quite easy with PATH

If you want to visit NYC, best place to stay is Westin Jersey City and then travel via Newport Path Station to Manhattan.

Oh, and the views of Manhattan are amazing.

I had the breakfast buffet for about $19 which was a welcome change compared to Manhattan hotels.

The property is one block away from the MTA Path Station which made our tourist commute very easy.

The location is close to the PATH train with easy access to Manhatten if you need it.

The PATH can take you all the way to 33rd St, NYC.

It was so close to the Path train so pretty quick ride into NYC.

The location is excellent for walks on the water and the PATH Train to NYC.

Path train for access to NYC is right across the street.

Inches away from the PATH train system & 20 minutes away from the New Jersey international airport!

The Path is right across the street, and there are numerous shops and restaurants nearby as well.

We will definitely be back though, given it’s convience to office and PATH station.

The hotel is close to the PATH station, easy access to the city.

It is so convenient to a PATH station and a snap to get into the Big Apple.

The PATH subway goes into NYC every 5 minutes and is quick and easy.

It's a short, safe 5 minute walk to the Path train which brings you to WTC or Chelsea/Greenwich Village stops in 20 minutes.

The beds were comfy, rooms were well appointed and the service was excellent.

My room had the most wonderful view and one of the most enjoyable baths to relax in and enjoy the view.

The room was large and the beds really comfortable.

The hotel itself is clean, the staff is cordial, the location is convenient,

Quick and efficient check-in and we were even offered an upgade to a slightly larger room.

The breakfast was very nice and our family had a very pleasant pre-wedding reception, in the bar.

Housekeeping staff did an amazing job with daily room cleanliness and making sure our amenities were fully stocked everyday.

We stopped to ask Ben, our Concierge, for directions into the city this afternoon, as well as his opinion on the best time to leave to get to Kleinfelds tomorrow morning.

Check in was smooth and efficient,  Staff friendly.

All the staff are so friendly and helpful.

Staff was really accommodating and helpful at the Westin.

The bartenders were pleasant and helpful.

Wish I could provide a better review as the team that works day shift are amazing

It was only a one night stay for business in the area.

This hotel is located in business area and near by the main NJ Turn Pike.

I will stay here again when in the area for business.

Would stay here next time I am in the area for business.

I travel to the area often for business and have tried all the marriott properties in the area including the full service hotels further away  and I was extremely pleased with the hotel.

From the pleasant, professional reception I received at check in to the friendliness at the bar and restaurant this hotel is a great choice when doing business in the area.

Due to business in the area, I stay at the Renaissance 2-3 weeks a month.

I check here before I book ANYWHERE and I’m always looking for comments about customer service and cleanliness.

The hotel itself was clean and just a bit dated.

The room was very clean and neatly appointed. Hotel provided a shuttle to the concert venue and back (Uber would have been a few dollars less.)

The welcome desk staff, did not even looked me in the eyes while checking me in, she was cold and not helpful at all.

but by then we had all taken a cold shower.

Ordering coffee in the morning comes with a delivery fee of $5 and the coffee is cold.

"They like it cold and it overwhelmed the system". What???!!!!

however, on Friday and Saturday, was much too cold; Sunday, the rooms were much too warm.

but it was extremely cold and windy so we just turned the heat up.

I like to sleep in a very cold room at night,

For a renaissance hotel there shouldn't be a COLD POOL!

We came back to our room to find a tray of chocolate chip cookies and two glasses of iced cold milk for the boys.

The disappointment the second morning was that all of our potatoes were ice cold.

Finally they found some other company, Eddies shuttle they called said 2 minutes and I was able to get a ride with them after 2 hours of waiting in the cold.

waffles too light, juice warm and coffee cold.

Concierge lounge was close in the weekend and marriott elite members can get free breakfast buffet in the restaurant and free bottles of water at front desk.

I am a Platnium member and since the concierge lounge was closed on the weekend, they provided a free breakfast in their restaurant Finchs.

Concierge Lounge for Platinum Members didn't have a good breakfast so went to Starbucks next door at Courtyard Marriott.

Also, concierge lounge closed whole weekend and no benefits or recognition of status other than free breakfast.

Concierge lounge was awesome with good food and great service!

The ladies in the concierge lounge were terrific also.

Debbie and Michelle in the Concierge Lounge are exceptional at making you feel welcome.

If one is a higher tier Marriott Rewards member, a concierge lounge is available for breakfast, evening snacks, and simple business transactions like faxing, emailing, and holding small business meetings [2 to 4 people].

The concierge lounge offered a special breakfast & a special light supper because of the Super Bowl.

They have a concierge lounge on the 9th floor that offers breakfast, snacks and beverages.

Debra makes us feel welcome at our home away from home on the 9th Floor Concierge Lounge (key access required).

Thank goodness I had access to the Concierge Lounge.

We hardly slept because they are so noisy.

After getting in my room noticed how noisy it is, so I called to ask to change and the answer was a straight “no”.

I had a do not disturb door hanger on my door and was disturbed anyway.

The air conditioner was very loud and rattled so loud when it was cycling off.

If I have any criticism at all, it's that it's directly off of the expressway, so traffic can be heard from some of the rooms.

!Felt like a 5* hotel breakfest.Muffins,toasts,fruits,eggs,bacon,oatmeal,patatoes,etc..The bus that takes you to Manhattan is near the hotel (2 min walk) 9$ roundtrip for adults,Swimming pool/Fitness center were closed for maintenance.Only thing that bothered me was that the AC makes a lot of noise during the night.

It is very noisy being sandwiched between 24 hour
     Traffic highways.

If your room faces the freeway, prepare to have lots of noise, especially from motorcycles on the highway.

We were on the 3rd floor facing away from the front and didn't hear much noise from cars so I would suggest a room on the backside.

Only negative thing is that you can hear the traffic since is right next to the highway.

My room was on the 6th floor facing the highway and while I could hear highway noise from inside the room it wasn’t terrible enough where i wanted to move.

but for some reason this one was exceptionally noisy.

The only suggestion i have is to increase either the window thickness or curtain density to cut out the highway noise.

Those with noise sensitivity could be bothered.

The hotel is placed just near a junction with an expressway so was a little noisy

however, the incessant noise from roads on both sides of the hotel made it near impossible to sleep.

The staff kept bringing out hot food to the buffet.

There is a nice bar downstairs with a restaurant (however, it's only open for dinner).

Food in the restaurant, Finches was very good as was the service of a great bartender there.

I had dinner downstairs at Finch’s and was informed the owner of the hotel was in the bar so very one was on edge and scrambling to make sure he was attended to.

My work team met up for drinks before and after dinner at Finch’s and were pleasantly surprised with Mo!

When I asked for an alternative option for the restaurant dining that was supported with the provision of local delivery menus.

They were prompt and the food was very good.

The restaurant was open for room deliver or pick up

The food in the onsite restaurant is very good as is room service.

I told him thank you, I already ate, just please fix the AC.

We also had room service one day and it was delicious.

Service at breakfast restaurant is a diasater.

Nice: room, lounge, restaurant, staff, cleanliness, fitness center, convenience 

Drawbacks: Two overriding issues.

I also found my room to be quite warm and thermostat could not be set below 67 F.

The hotel’s restaurant had good food and service.

Entered our room and it seemed okay. Large.

Beds were comfortable and the room was big.

The manager was kind enough to immediately give us another room, with an even better view.

Rooms were spacious and recently updated.

When he came, I said: We will stay in the room with an only king bed for tonight,

I lugged all my belongings back downstairs to request a new room and the front desk staff did not apologize, did not greet me with any empathy and just gave me a new room with not one comment said.
