The Staff were friendly, especially Kierra on the front desk and Corell from maintenance.

The only reason this is not a 5 star review is that (at no fault of the property) the hotel rooms are small and not new and modern,

The rooms are small (ours had a hanging rack instead of closet) with barely any natural light/view, the bathrooms could do with some updating, the lobby smelt, the hotel is split into two buildings.

The rooms were on the small side due to the historic nature of the building,

Negatives: SMALL room (and I reserved the "large" King, small everything, dark hallways (I was across the alley) windows were frosted so you had NO VIEW of anything, hallways were narrow and creepy, front door to hotel was constantly jammed and it was raining so that was annoying.

Cons: The rooms themselves are a bit old and small.

The first room we got was tiny and the heat didn't work when it was 45 degrees outside.

My room was very small for two people, a king size bed, crowded

but this team makes it as comfortable as possible.

The rooms are split across two buildings and we stayed at the one away from the main reception.

but they were great guys and prepared their food with great pride.

He was engaging and we had great conversations each morning he worked.

Chandler had a big smile and a genuine welcome.

Everyone working there took ownership of any questions asked, gave amazing restaurant recommendations, and clearly took pride in the hotels service delivery.

Late night Welcome was good at bar by Tammy who was welcoming and informative with local knowledge.

The staff was phenomenal from check-in, bar and everyone in between.

Both Tammy & Melvin ( working the Bar & chef in the kitchen) we’re very professional, attentive and cordial!

I was told she had been there since early that morning and not trying to stay all day and was sent a business card to send an email.

When I checked in they  diligently asked to see my documents including my passport and my Marriot loyalty card Marriot Bonvoy.

Just said they couldn’t run the card so they canceled it and they have no more rooms available.

I was charged more than the max price posted on the door for two nights and they weren't able to help me, I was charged for a minibar I did not use (thankfully, this was resolved,

Zero gesture welcoming Ambassador member in the room - no fruit platter or snacks, or even a card.

Also pay attention to your bill as we were overcharged for valet.

And that we would still have to pay the $246 room upgrade charge.

Every time we got to our room, the cards were somehow demagnetized.

I agree with the other reviewers about the issues with the room card keys.

When we received the bill after the show we were charged $25 PER PERSON not per table (table for two).

My two gripes are that the key card system doesn’t work, which means that once every day or two, you go up to your room only to find out the key doesn’t work and have to return downstairs, queue and have the card reactivated.

The second time surgery was cancelled and they still billed me even tho I notified them a day ahead of time Never again.

Later on that evening I checked my account and see that they charged my card $76.

I was given my key cards, directed to the elevators, urged to contact them for any needs, and also thanked for choosing The Saint Hotel.

She then said, I will credit your credit card with $100.

Third, they had some type of problem with the magnetic key cards and gave us a hard time when we asked for replacement.

Also the money held on my credit card for incidentals was immediately returned upon checkout.

There was a charge on the bill that the lady on checkout addressed without any debate so kudos for that.

We were charged for something from the minibar that we did not take and upon check-out it was taken off no questions asked.

His pleasant attitude and warm friendly smile and professionalism will definitely be the reason this will always be our hotel whenever in New Orleans.

The Bar staff is not very friendly, and when you walk into it, you can see it misses some care from the owners.

Kearston, (one of the workers there) gave us the most amazing and friendly service.

She was so welcoming, friendly, and hilarious when e checked in, and she gave us some great tips about places to go in the city.

Carpet was pretty worn and could use replacing.

Extremely rude and unprofessional staff, dirty hotel dirty rooms old dirty carpet.

There are stains everywhere--on the carpet, on the towels, in the tub, you name it.

The room was sad and dingy, smelled like cigarettes despite a non- smoking policy and the carpet was worn and dirty.

The carpets themselves look 20 years old, all bunched and ripples and stained.

Couldn’t take the elevators either because they were blocked off due to where the carpet was being replaced.

But the bad, unfortunately, really outweighs any good here:
- The rooms are just really tired and run down: stained, cracked and damaged walls, dirty carpets, unkempt common areas - the list goes on.

Next you see OLD carpet, broken furniture, burned out sockets, and broken windows!!!!

While settling in, we noticed a unplesant smell and that the carpet in the room was very wet.

The place had black mold in the AC vents, carpets were old and stained and the furniture was chipped and old.

One, the carpet in the hall was extremely dirty.

but is definitely in need of a refurbishment—furniture and carpet was very worn throughout.

The hallway carpet colors were hideous- why would anyone pick that out?

Again, like the hallway, the carpets were stained, walls dinged up.

The carpet in our room was dirty - my husband was walking in the room in his bare feet and they got very dirty!

but the only complaint that I have is that some of the furniture was a bit worn and tired (ie frayed carpet, scratched nightstands etc).

Additionally there was dog hair everywhere and the carpet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a VERY long time.

When or if they redecorate the should remove the carpet since the building are so open.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and that whole section of the hotel is outdated, nasty, musty and covered in carpet stains.

Upon arrival, the staff were warm and friendly.

He booked the Sonesta and I will say the staff was beyond friendly and welcoming.

We had an amazing stay in our first trip to NOLA the staff was friendly the location was very convenient and walking distance to all the local places.

The hotel was clean, staff answered requests in a timely manner and were very friendly.

Needless to say, my experience at Hotel Sonesta ES was a symphony of disappointment, with a cacophony of cleanliness issues, parking fees, and a breakfast reminiscent of a deserted culinary landscape.

There is no onsite parking, and the valet is almost $40 a night.

I do have to say the only thing I did not like was that the valet parking lot can be accessed by ANYBODY as I was able to walk into the lot twice without question to get into my vehicle.

At this point I’m fuming(it’s the peak of summer and this part of the hotel is open concept so it’s basically outside and we are carrying all of our luggage for a 7 day cruise because we couldn’t trust to leave it in the AWFUL lot they called “secure parking”)!!

It’s a good value for the money except for parking, which is very expensive at $40/day.

The parking fee was kind of expensive considering how expensive it is to park at any parking lot in the area the fees really began to add up.

Parking, handled by an independent company was the only disappointment as they charged $8 more per day than the company next door charged.

The only negative I have about the hotel was no free parking.

Valet parking was about $38 per day - normal for NOLA.

Be aware if your renting a car, its $39 a day to valet and there are no other parking options.

Expensive parking: parking is not free and was more than 35$ a night (though this may be lower during other times of the year).

You must use valet parking or you are at your own peril somewhere in a neighboring street.

The view was of an alley and parking lot.

Oh and overall anybody could smoke marihuana in hotel premises it was just horrible

Our room as borderline scary with chipping paint, stained comforters, smelly rugs and just downright run down.

The bathroom had a musty smell and there was mold on the inside of the shower.

My only wish is that the entire grounds would be non smoking.

There was an open half eaten yogurt container on top of the fridge, a glass had lipstick stains on it (all of the glasses were dirty and had to be washed) and there was debris on the floor that makes me believe the room wasn’t vacuumed.

Paint fumes/dust/construction debris was all over the place.

I understand there was a horrible smell in their room upon walking in.

When it was finally ready (over two hours later) the room smelled like sulfur at the entrance.

but Toi went above and beyond when he heard that I’d been having an issue with the drain in my washroom.

Two, the windows in the room were filthy and so were the curtains, shower curtains, and vent in the kitchen.

Our 2 bedroom/2 bath suite had air conditioning problems, paint peeling, curtains were torn, a/c vents a returns were covered in black mold & dust.

It was the third room we were in because the first two were not cleaned: beds unmade, food in the refrigerator and scattered around and filthy.

The room was musty the first day and could use some updating,

but helpful to have with hungry children!

The moment I stepped into the hotel, the dirt on the floor welcomed me like a long-lost friend.

Although this is an older hotel it is well kept by the staff.

The warehouse District is kind of cool and quieter than French Quarter

PROS: room size was huge by contemporary hotel standards; full-size fridge; excellent wifi; multiple tv sets; black out curtains; powerful a/c; breakfast buffet; grounds; staff; proximity to Convention Center; easily walkable to Canal Street and French Quarter

Taylor the GM greeted us one morning and he is such a nice guy.

It is a big hotel, and this was obviously an u truth told by someone who didn’t care (management, I can give you more details)
The next day, I spoke to the very helpful manager, who moved me to a light, bright modern room, in the right side of the hotel.

but we knew this in advance, and service was quick and efficient.

Also, as my husband and I were eating, the manager had such an attitude greeting all the guest.

Detergent and fabric softener sheets are available for purchase by the front desk.

We have stayed at the French Market Inn a couple of times and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

The staff was very friendly and helpful starting with the phone reservation all the way through checkout.

The hotel is a very old building so expect smaller rooms and a tiny elevator and know that there isn't breakfast included.

When we checked in we were given a room that was quite small and would have been fine for a weekend trip

Rooms are quite small and could be claustrophobic without a window, I think.

A lot of hotels in the French Quarter have small rooms,

although rooms small they have a southern charm.

Had to walk through that smoke to get in the hotel.

We were in room 104, with a fairly busy hallway, people walking to the elevator and into PJ's coffee, the coffee smells first thing in the morning, and it was NOT a quiet room.

Though there was some odd dripping noise from somewhere in the walls, maybe a drain from the outside to remove water from the rain stroms?

No housekeeping was provided on our first morning so we complained and got the garbage and soiled towels taken and got new towels.

but it also is musty smelling in some areas.

however in my experience I found that the old brick walls give off just a little debris.

however, the air conditioner unit seemed to have a bit of mold in it.

It did not look very clean, carpet was filthy, shower looked dirty.
