the pool areas are very nice with a nice bar in the middle.Unfortunately they serve all drinks in horrible paper cups which really take the enjoyment out of having a nice drink in the terrace.

The pool area was spacious with plenty of sun beds.

Spa room; Lovely time in spa area, infact we went twice!!!

Hotel is one of the largest in the area, so is an imposing sight on arrival.

The good: Hotel clean, staff friendly and positive, location right on the beach, nice enough swimming pool area.

The pool area is spacious, never struggled at any time to gain a lounger for 4.

Has a beautiful grass area between the pool & beach with absolutely loads of sunbeds on.

Going in to Nerja itself is a must, the Balcony of Europe area is beautiful with lots of bars and restaurants around.

The hotel itself is nice and very clean, with a lovely pool area straight onto the beach.

Major plus was the excellent and attentetive waiting staff

Pool was lovely and the grass area before the beach was a lovely chilled spot to relax and very peaceful

Entertainment team work very hard and Leo is very much the main man making many holidays special with his time and effort.

Nerja is lovely and lots to do in the area.

Lovely public areas and right next to the beach.

however we arrived on the back of the sand storms of the previous week and though the staff were making great efforts to clean up the outside areas the effect of the storms was pain to see.

Hotel is super clean, from pool area to the rooms.

Lucky the bar and lounge area was a good size to relax in as was our 1 bed room with Uk tv if needed.

The beach was quiet & there are sun loungers a plenty around the pool & on the grassy area between the pool & the beach.

Had a beautiful week in this hotel .came here 6 years ago and nothing changed  it runs like clockwork .all the staff are friendly and polite.

Found all the staff to be friendly and helpul.

Entertainment staff so friendly and welcoming to all,able to speak in so many languages also.

Friendly, helpful and you never wait around for service.

Airports, transfers and at the hotel, we never had to look very far for friendly helpful advice/assistance.

We found the staff to be helpful and in the main really friendly.

The staff are really attentive, from the check in where you get a warm helpful welcome to the bar and restaurant staff whom are all really friendly and happy whilst being often very busy looking after the guests.

The staff were professional, friendly and made an effort to make our stay the best it could be.

however the staff were very friendly big shout out to Beatriz Lopez who works in the spa she really was friendly and made our spa experience enjoyable.

Energetic friendly guys kept us busy and amused all the times.

We had the dinner buffet on a number of evenings and it was amazing with quality food and drink and extremely friendly staff.

Its location on the beach is excellent, and the hard working, helpful and friendly staff were definitely the reasons.

The pool area was nice and some of the staff was very friendly.

The hotel staff are really good , efficient and friendly.

My friend asked me would I like a spa and lunch at the marinas de Nerja Punta Lara, greeted by friendly staff, Beatriz and Victoria, .

There was loads for them to do, a kid's club, poolside activities, mini disco early evening and the staff were very friendly.

Nerja is a pretty town with an older "quarter" and small beaches reached by a bus outside(1 euro) every hour with a siesta from 3 till 5 roughly.

Need more for kids to do as definitely for older clients.

This hotel at this time of year is for the older generation, not sure if they are on the long term winter break many hotels cater for.

This is a bit of an odd hotel as it's also a saga hotel so there are a lot of older people there.

Apart from families with babies, many families included older children.

Lots of older people .and some had grandchildren with them.

The hotel seems to be mainly targetting the, shall we say, "older generation" and, if it wasn't for the mini-disco, you'd think they didn't want kids there at all.

When we got bill it was 60euros .so what they failed to explain its 15euros each  for lunch and 15euros each 

 for dinner , you would never pay that for buffet  food ,when we complained they the  lady on the desk the older women with curly hair was rude and blamed us , no costumer relations she was not willing to resolve it ,i said am only complaining because we were misled , she said it's not her problem ..the hotel is good

No entertainment for younger people at all, only for  older people.

its families couples middle and older age.

What rather perplexed my wife and I was that we had booked this holiday through SAGA,, and we expected it to be suitable for the older generation.

The crowd were mainly families with young children and older people which I was happy with because it wasn't full of drunk people.

We went during the school term time so the hotel was occupied by mostly older people

Definitely recommend, though be aware that at this time of the year the hotel does host a majority of older people which wasn't a problem for me

but if you are travelling with young kids this hotel doesn't have much on for them as has a lot of older Sarga type staying .

There are a lot of older people there as it's a SAGA hotel, which seemed strange when there were so many children there.

but  our kids are older now at 15 and 120 and it was a bit of a Benidorm experience.

I think the hotel is now catering more for families than older guests.

If more then 4 in the party then you have to get two,and can become costly.

At least we got a higher floor and were not facing the pool where all the partying and entertainment was going on.

There was a huge wedding party there during our stay and they were a bit of a pain.

We had a bit of noise at night from wedding parties

One night it took 2 hrs to play one card of bingo and then the Entertainment stopped.

With 2y old baby it is not fun to stay awake while behind the windows is organised a loud entertainment program.

We are a family party of 11, Age range 4 to 70.

We had issues with noise whereby guests were talking in loud voices into the small hours several nights.

Its so loud that getting your kids to bed before 23.30 won't happen.

- when people moved the furniture (maybe just even pulled out a chair) in the room above, it was incredibly noisy
- there were a couple of rowdy parties who disrupted the place from time to time, screaming and taking over the pool.

Only thing was late entertainment every night in the pool area which was loud and made it a bit hard to sleep,

The music was loud and the guests were outside chatting and smoking under our balcony.

There were some extra loud characters about in a large wedding party and the staff dealt with them in a nice manner.

The down sides of the hotel when we were there were the large number of wedding type parties which seem to be a feature here, lots of kids running around, fairly ordinary "entertainment" and the isolated location.

There were three weddings parties young couples with babies  and all their kids.

The game room is a place to play cards, no pool table n the pools were not heated.

This is something I really hate, I am 56 and a grown up, I do not need a wrist  band.

I recently stayed here as part of a wedding party and was quite disappointed by my experience.

I wouldn't leave mine unattended there as they were too young so we just stayed and played with them there.

They do have a small team that muck around in the day, they do water aerobics every afternoon and play games a couple of times throughout the day (that’s all good, it’s quite funny) 
The evening is just a total disaster - they have a show (if you can call it that)

Nothing starts till 10pm - sometimes they brought a character out

If you are not fully inclusive nothing around apart from one restaurant about 5 mins walk.

The pool bar was nice we got a fresh pizza there for €10.

The hotel  spotless the rooms  spacious and clean .i am coeliac and always found something to eat..thank you x

Saying that, we liked the staff who were very attentive and helpful (especially in the restaurant).

This Hotel food is very good while we were there for our 12 night stay which we booked hotel and flights from Liverpool ourselves did not use holiday company Jet2 Tui etc.

restaurant was manic inside so we always sat outside.

All of us went all inclusive , we do tend to eat out at night

We went inclusive as is was handy with the kids, the food was fantastic with different food served everyday.

Personally was glad we didn't go all inclusive as food would have been repetitive .

People that complain about the food need to get a life.

Well, all I can say is thank god for chips because that’s probably all I eat in it.

Bar staff and restaurant staff friendly and helpful.

Thankfully there were restaurants nearby.

Our kids loved the food and they can be picky at times.

Food very average and somewhat repetitive,wine quite good.

Beer was Amstel with a non alcoholic version available.

The breakfast and dinner buffet is verry good!

The more mature male barmen were quite rude.

but there was a lady serving behind the pool bar I never got her name but she had blonde hair and she was so rude.

Other than that every staff member I met were obnoxiously rude, especially management!

People in Nerja are rude towards English _  taxi drivers, restaurant staff bar staff.

The bar staff were incredibly rude to my children, all over the age of 9 and very polite and able to get their own drinks, just as long as they waited 20+ mins to be served every time!!

He was quite rude to a number of guests and did spoil our evening.

Staff at pool bar and reception are rude and unprofessional.

This was followed up by a visit from a woman with a walkie talkie 5 minutes later who was equally rude.

Our rep at the hotel was the only "fly in the ointment"    He was rude to us on 2 occasions after we had asked for help (my husband walked away from his desk as he was fuming at the time)   I told him that he was rude and impatient and that I would not ask him anything else - to which he replied "good" and walked off !!

Staff are so rude and not helpful at all!

In fact, I found the receptionist rather rude and unhelpful.

but this is no fault of the hotel but a lot of the clientele were rude in fact one guest was so bad we had to report him, again the staff were a great help and even offered us to change rooms, so a big thanks to Christine for all her help.

Only problems we had were the bar staff were quite rude at times and we found that there was a lot of couples and not many young people.

but not 4* and weekends from Fri to Sunday are dominated by local Spanish who are rude, noisy (all night) and take over the hotel, don't move from your chair as it will be literally swiped away from under your backside.

but the reception staff are quite rude and not interested in customer service at all.

There was quick and efficient service for drinks.

The hotel staff all work hard From cleaners,bar staff hotel reception,but seem short staffed.

Hotel itself was really clean and accomadating.

Until I overheard the reception manager upgrade a Spanish couple next to us to a suite - for free!

You have Leo in animation who has every guest in love with him, such an infectious great loveable attitude he has, knows everyone by name and really is a born entertainer.

We were the only ones in the bar and the only ones that seemed interested were the waiter and one other staff member.

She never smiled once the whole week we were there.

Leo was so lovely and entertained all ages, he clearly loves his job, what a personality, he deserves 5 stars.

Eddie the pool manager was fantastic as well as two of the men behind the bar!

It was nice to be near the beach which was quiet and good for walks.

Hotel situated ; Sadly just a little too far from town, with the heat it was too hot to walk even at night, a good 30 mins along beach and longer by road.

We spend a lot of time in Nerja which is a bus / taxi / walk away.

The pool is great nad the best part is that you can literally walk straight onto the beach if you want.

Two key points to consider:

The hotel is not near anything!! Nerja (Balcon area) is a good 30-40 mins walk (fair pace) along the main road - or 5 mins in a taxi (the wait could be a while!)

There is a gravel and sand road for most of the walk.

although it was further than expected to walk in the town especially in the hot weather.

It is quite a distance from the town of Nerja, about 25 min walk

We would walk in and get a taxi back which was really easy.

Walked into Nerja a few nights, pleasant walk and taxi home, remember current condition require you to have a mask on!

Two small shops on site, centre of Nerja is a bus or a car, or a long walk (turn right from the hotel entrance).

It's a pleasant walk along the beach to Nerja itself and being flat it's not too demanding on the legs.

although did also mix in some lunches and visits to some of the lovely traditional bars in Nerja which is about a 30 min walk along the beach or main road.

Walking around you have to wear your mask, I suppose it keeps everyone safe.

The staff were excellent:  Food was great:  Rooms spacious and well equipped:  The 2 pools were lovely:  Location next to the beach was excellent and a short walk to Nerja: Evening entertainment and daytime activities were very good.

We did this most days, the walk takes about 40 minutes into the centre of nerja.

The hotel is 15 minutes walk from Burriana Beach (the biggest and most popular beach) downhill, which means the walk back is uphill.

Yes you can walk to the nearest beach in 15 to 20 mins

The town and the beach are about a 15 minute walk and it’s a beautiful area to explore.

As for the evening meal i cant really say too much we only ate there for the 2 first nites as the restaurants down by the beach are so good!!

When we wanted our room to be cleaned it was done to a really high standard and we came back in after a day at the beach or pool with it smelling so clean, it was really nice!

After further prolonged conversation we moved hotel to the Balcon De Europa, again thanks to our rep Barbara and enjoyed the rest of our holiday.

It's quite a walk downhill into Nerja itself and the beach, which was fine for us

We found that the easiest way to the beach at Burriana, was to take the road down between the hotel and Mercadona.

it is a hike to walk to the beach or main town,

but compact with everything you need.short walk to centre and beach.

Nerja itself is a fabulous place, lots of walks or local buses, plus lovely beaches and authentic tapas bars to enjoy. This hotel is a great base,  and it's distance from the centre of Nerja provides a little exercise to wear off the excess food and drink that you'll no doubt enjoy :-)

The location is away from the main beaches and shopping area and may not be suitable if you have walking difficulties as the walk back is uphill.

It is about 15 minutes downhill walk to the beautiful Burriano beach (slightly longer walking back!

The hotel oozes charm, & built more like a historical Castille than the more stereotype  Spanish accommodation that you see along this coast!

but we used it to dry off our clothes after the beach, so this wasn't an issue for us.

Nerja town is a 25 min walk away and the beach is downhill.

but soon cleared with patio doors open and sheets didn't get changed  but room was cleaned every day and towels refreshed 
Hotel is in a very quite location a good  walk from beach and bars/ old town  but we enjoyed are stay and would definitely stay here again

The beach was a short walk and a very pleasant area, up "cardiac hill" on the way back though!!

The staff are really friendly and most helpful.

The staff were very friendly as were the guests staying there - The rooms were clean and beds comfortable so cannot fault any of that.

The staff were really friendly and drinks and bar snacks were really good value.

The atmosphere was homely , friendly , it felt like home from home added to this lots of other visitors were regulars .

The hotel staff were friendly, if a bit tired and over-worked on some occasions and the Happy Hour or 2 was a great opportunity to meet up with the hotel guests.

I think the best thing about this hotel are the staff, everyone is enthusiastic, efficient , friendly and smiley.

but it was definately worth the money we paid its immaculately clean and all the staff are so friendly!!

The hotel advertised as nice for couples, quite and friendly.. if you happen to pick a week or two when it is just couples you will be lucky.

The staff are all very friendly, the bed is comfy and the food is pretty good!

Mega friendly and helpful staff, they even let us keep our bikes in the room.

The hotel in general was just the same as 2 years ago  - clean, lovely sun terrace and the same friendly staff.

On a positive note we would like to thank the ladies who cleaned our room at the Nerja club who worked very hard, and to Jose, Lewis and Estella who worked in the bar and restaurant who remembered us from previous visits and was polite and friendly.

Antonio, Estee, and all the staff as friendly and helpful as usual.

I am at present in the middle of a 2 week holiday staying at the Nerja club Hotel and can honestly say its great.Rooms are clean staff are all friendly hygiene is first class.Its a3 star hotel that's well worth a visit.

On a plus point the staff were great friendly and very hard working .

The choice of food has been less than previous visits with every meal being chicken or pork.

but the food was a big letdown every night chicken pork or fish.

We did stay here 2.5 years ago an excellent holiday and you provided the best of food in any hotel we have stayed at !

We popped in for a quick lunch, out on the front veranda was quite busy

You wouldn’t go hungry, and food was functional

This is my second stay, the only reviews I can agree on is the quality of the food.

Just up your food standards and choices and this hotel would be great.

The staff were brilliant, a waiter even apologised for the qyality of the food.

The main difference for us was the food, always told people how great the food was lots of choice and plenty of Spanish recipes.

but we skipped evening meal 8 nights, ate out for 4 and went to the local supermarket. 5.

We went for evening meal and was really looking forward to our food as it was excellent on last visit.

The food not being great - we stayed in on 3 nights and the other nights we went into the town where food was very food and not expensive -
The wine in the hotel was only 2.20 euros a glass and at 5pm there is a happy hour with 2 for the price of one and that applied to all drinks including beers and coffees.

but for our stay the restaurant was fine.

The food was of a very good standard , the staff extremely friendly and helpful .

This was a bargain break so we knew something had to give and it was the food.

We would rather spend our money eating out at the many restaurants in Nerja.

Great hotel , not to busy food good  , fabulous happy hour , rooms could do with a lick of paint and bathrooms could do with a refurb ,

but not great issue , read lots of reviews about food , but was ok not great choice but always something we liked.

Yes there are positives, the location, the staff (minus the rude lady)
Our room was spacious, clean, quite and the balcony large (we requested a garden view,) 
But compared to the negatives, I'm not sure I will return.
