the pool areas are very nice with a nice bar in the middle.Unfortunately they serve all drinks in horrible paper cups which really take the enjoyment out of having a nice drink in the terrace.

The pool area was spacious with plenty of sun beds.

Spa room; Lovely time in spa area, infact we went twice!!!

Hotel is one of the largest in the area, so is an imposing sight on arrival.

The good: Hotel clean, staff friendly and positive, location right on the beach, nice enough swimming pool area.

The pool area is spacious, never struggled at any time to gain a lounger for 4.

Has a beautiful grass area between the pool & beach with absolutely loads of sunbeds on.

Going in to Nerja itself is a must, the Balcony of Europe area is beautiful with lots of bars and restaurants around.

The hotel itself is nice and very clean, with a lovely pool area straight onto the beach.

Major plus was the excellent and attentetive waiting staff

Pool was lovely and the grass area before the beach was a lovely chilled spot to relax and very peaceful

Entertainment team work very hard and Leo is very much the main man making many holidays special with his time and effort.

Nerja is lovely and lots to do in the area.

Lovely public areas and right next to the beach.

however we arrived on the back of the sand storms of the previous week and though the staff were making great efforts to clean up the outside areas the effect of the storms was pain to see.

Hotel is super clean, from pool area to the rooms.

Lucky the bar and lounge area was a good size to relax in as was our 1 bed room with Uk tv if needed.

The beach was quiet & there are sun loungers a plenty around the pool & on the grassy area between the pool & the beach.

Breakfast was excellent lots of choices and we also paid 20 Euros one evening for a buffet meal which again was very good.

but it costed in with drinks , ice cream , breakfast and lunch.

Nice air conditioned room where I slept very well and nice breakfast.

We went half board, breakfast was plentiful and evening meals also lots of choice.

but that included breakfast and dinner which was all we needed.

The breakfast was ok except the Cereals were rock hard.

The breakfast and dinner buffet is verry good!

We would stay again if they did something about the pool temperature and just book for breakfast.

The food is very good, better than other all inclusive buffets.

Breakfast was also lovely with lots of variety.

all round  experience excellent from staff accommodation food cleanliness staff are so helpful food in the restaurant  breakfast lunch  dinner  buffet  style

however, was good and plentiful and of a good quality overall.

We had the dinner buffet on a number of evenings and it was amazing with quality food and drink and extremely friendly staff.

We’ve just returned from breakfast which was unbelievable value and had a huge choice.

The hotel & grounds are immaculately clean & the breakfast choices were endless.

I like the themed buffet nights, especially their Oriental one.

The breakfast buffet was a sad experience,

The food is usually plentiful and varied.

Nerja is a pretty town with an older "quarter" and small beaches reached by a bus outside(1 euro) every hour with a siesta from 3 till 5 roughly.

Need more for kids to do as definitely for older clients.

This hotel at this time of year is for the older generation, not sure if they are on the long term winter break many hotels cater for.

This is a bit of an odd hotel as it's also a saga hotel so there are a lot of older people there.

Apart from families with babies, many families included older children.

Lots of older people .and some had grandchildren with them.

The hotel seems to be mainly targetting the, shall we say, "older generation" and, if it wasn't for the mini-disco, you'd think they didn't want kids there at all.

When we got bill it was 60euros .so what they failed to explain its 15euros each  for lunch and 15euros each 

 for dinner , you would never pay that for buffet  food ,when we complained they the  lady on the desk the older women with curly hair was rude and blamed us , no costumer relations she was not willing to resolve it ,i said am only complaining because we were misled , she said it's not her problem ..the hotel is good

No entertainment for younger people at all, only for  older people.

its families couples middle and older age.

What rather perplexed my wife and I was that we had booked this holiday through SAGA,, and we expected it to be suitable for the older generation.

The crowd were mainly families with young children and older people which I was happy with because it wasn't full of drunk people.

We went during the school term time so the hotel was occupied by mostly older people

Definitely recommend, though be aware that at this time of the year the hotel does host a majority of older people which wasn't a problem for me

but if you are travelling with young kids this hotel doesn't have much on for them as has a lot of older Sarga type staying .

There are a lot of older people there as it's a SAGA hotel, which seemed strange when there were so many children there.

but  our kids are older now at 15 and 120 and it was a bit of a Benidorm experience.

I think the hotel is now catering more for families than older guests.

If more then 4 in the party then you have to get two,and can become costly.

At least we got a higher floor and were not facing the pool where all the partying and entertainment was going on.

There was a huge wedding party there during our stay and they were a bit of a pain.

We had a bit of noise at night from wedding parties

One night it took 2 hrs to play one card of bingo and then the Entertainment stopped.

With 2y old baby it is not fun to stay awake while behind the windows is organised a loud entertainment program.

We are a family party of 11, Age range 4 to 70.

We had issues with noise whereby guests were talking in loud voices into the small hours several nights.

Its so loud that getting your kids to bed before 23.30 won't happen.

- when people moved the furniture (maybe just even pulled out a chair) in the room above, it was incredibly noisy
- there were a couple of rowdy parties who disrupted the place from time to time, screaming and taking over the pool.

Only thing was late entertainment every night in the pool area which was loud and made it a bit hard to sleep,

The music was loud and the guests were outside chatting and smoking under our balcony.

There were some extra loud characters about in a large wedding party and the staff dealt with them in a nice manner.

The down sides of the hotel when we were there were the large number of wedding type parties which seem to be a feature here, lots of kids running around, fairly ordinary "entertainment" and the isolated location.

There were three weddings parties young couples with babies  and all their kids.

The game room is a place to play cards, no pool table n the pools were not heated.

This is something I really hate, I am 56 and a grown up, I do not need a wrist  band.

I recently stayed here as part of a wedding party and was quite disappointed by my experience.

I wouldn't leave mine unattended there as they were too young so we just stayed and played with them there.

They do have a small team that muck around in the day, they do water aerobics every afternoon and play games a couple of times throughout the day (that’s all good, it’s quite funny) 
The evening is just a total disaster - they have a show (if you can call it that)

Nothing starts till 10pm - sometimes they brought a character out

If you are not fully inclusive nothing around apart from one restaurant about 5 mins walk.

The pool bar was nice we got a fresh pizza there for €10.

The hotel  spotless the rooms  spacious and clean .i am coeliac and always found something to eat..thank you x

Saying that, we liked the staff who were very attentive and helpful (especially in the restaurant).

This Hotel food is very good while we were there for our 12 night stay which we booked hotel and flights from Liverpool ourselves did not use holiday company Jet2 Tui etc.

restaurant was manic inside so we always sat outside.

All of us went all inclusive , we do tend to eat out at night

We went inclusive as is was handy with the kids, the food was fantastic with different food served everyday.

Personally was glad we didn't go all inclusive as food would have been repetitive .

People that complain about the food need to get a life.

Well, all I can say is thank god for chips because that’s probably all I eat in it.

Bar staff and restaurant staff friendly and helpful.

Thankfully there were restaurants nearby.

Our kids loved the food and they can be picky at times.

Food very average and somewhat repetitive,wine quite good.

Beer was Amstel with a non alcoholic version available.

The more mature male barmen were quite rude.

but there was a lady serving behind the pool bar I never got her name but she had blonde hair and she was so rude.

Other than that every staff member I met were obnoxiously rude, especially management!

People in Nerja are rude towards English _  taxi drivers, restaurant staff bar staff.

The bar staff were incredibly rude to my children, all over the age of 9 and very polite and able to get their own drinks, just as long as they waited 20+ mins to be served every time!!

He was quite rude to a number of guests and did spoil our evening.

Staff at pool bar and reception are rude and unprofessional.

This was followed up by a visit from a woman with a walkie talkie 5 minutes later who was equally rude.

Our rep at the hotel was the only "fly in the ointment"    He was rude to us on 2 occasions after we had asked for help (my husband walked away from his desk as he was fuming at the time)   I told him that he was rude and impatient and that I would not ask him anything else - to which he replied "good" and walked off !!

Staff are so rude and not helpful at all!

In fact, I found the receptionist rather rude and unhelpful.

but this is no fault of the hotel but a lot of the clientele were rude in fact one guest was so bad we had to report him, again the staff were a great help and even offered us to change rooms, so a big thanks to Christine for all her help.

Only problems we had were the bar staff were quite rude at times and we found that there was a lot of couples and not many young people.

but not 4* and weekends from Fri to Sunday are dominated by local Spanish who are rude, noisy (all night) and take over the hotel, don't move from your chair as it will be literally swiped away from under your backside.

but the reception staff are quite rude and not interested in customer service at all.

It was nice to be near the beach which was quiet and good for walks.

Hotel situated ; Sadly just a little too far from town, with the heat it was too hot to walk even at night, a good 30 mins along beach and longer by road.

We spend a lot of time in Nerja which is a bus / taxi / walk away.

The pool is great nad the best part is that you can literally walk straight onto the beach if you want.

Two key points to consider:

The hotel is not near anything!! Nerja (Balcon area) is a good 30-40 mins walk (fair pace) along the main road - or 5 mins in a taxi (the wait could be a while!)

There is a gravel and sand road for most of the walk.

although it was further than expected to walk in the town especially in the hot weather.

It is quite a distance from the town of Nerja, about 25 min walk

We would walk in and get a taxi back which was really easy.

Walked into Nerja a few nights, pleasant walk and taxi home, remember current condition require you to have a mask on!

Two small shops on site, centre of Nerja is a bus or a car, or a long walk (turn right from the hotel entrance).

It's a pleasant walk along the beach to Nerja itself and being flat it's not too demanding on the legs.

although did also mix in some lunches and visits to some of the lovely traditional bars in Nerja which is about a 30 min walk along the beach or main road.

Walking around you have to wear your mask, I suppose it keeps everyone safe.

The staff were excellent:  Food was great:  Rooms spacious and well equipped:  The 2 pools were lovely:  Location next to the beach was excellent and a short walk to Nerja: Evening entertainment and daytime activities were very good.

We did this most days, the walk takes about 40 minutes into the centre of nerja.

The breakfast caters for all and we particularly like the omelette made to order.

Beautiful hotel staff very friendly courteous the hotel is right on the beach The food is plentiful and cater for all tastes this hotel is a short walk into town about ten minutes This suited our party perfect I will be back here again

We  chose the 9am slot, the  food was lovely especially the freshly made omelette or pankcakes .

Lovely breakfast , something for everyone.

Breakfast was lovely not too busy and lots of choice.

Breakfast nothing put pandemonium as it appears booking here includes breakfast.

Breakfast runs really smoothly and the choice and quality of food is great.

We were there on a bed and breakfast deal and the breakfast was pretty good.

We were staying on a B&B basis, the breakfast was good with plenty of choice, lovely coffee.

Breakfast was good, with lots of choices great coffee and everything was hot.

The only thing that was excellent was the breakfast which had an impressive choice of fruits, cold and hot food, breads and cereals.

There is a good choice of food if you like your carbs,

but it did look good, and considering that Nerja is a tourist city, the buffet price was not expensive compared to nearby restaurants.

I was taken aback when the guy behind reception gave us our room key and told us to go back out the front door, We had been allocated a room in another building across the street.

The doors are open at 10am and most people don’t reserve the sun beds and go off for the day.

We had a view of a wall , no balcony a sliding door with a barrier on front of the glass and we could barely see the sky, never mind the sea.

If you closed the patio door, it became quiet with black out drapes.

heading back for the gate we noticed it was closed and locked so were rattling the gate to try and alert someone to let us out, after no response we wandered around until we came across 
 laundry maids exiting a fire door and low and behold we founf the mythical lift that actually does take you back up to reception,.

The patio doors were quite dirty on the outside and

Water feature 1: the toilet cistern constantly dribbled water through a worn valve washer, this I could hear through the closed door in the dead of night.

One of the beds even jutted out across the bathroom door as there wasn't enough room.

The bathroom door seemed to have been spray painted over blistered paint beneath.

The bracket hold up shower was broken and toilet behind door was hit with the door every time you entered the bathroom.

I wasn't offered another room just to open my door which obviously meant I had to stay in the room.

The wardrobe was dilapidated with a wonky frame so that the doors could not close and threatened to come off their runners if you tried.

heres a few examples:20 euros per day extra for a balcony which doesn't guarantee sun.Shower head holder nearly 7 ft high therefore dangerous.One plug point other than TV.Fridge not working.Had to request a kettle for the normal daily cuppa,then had to request cups for same,waited 10 mins for these as the man in the cafe didn't want to know.All doors not equipped with noise deadening facility.Could go on and on.

however we noticed the door handle was damaged.

We requested non-smoking and our room stank of smoke and the rooms around us clearly contained smoking guests so it was seeping under our door and through the AC system.

This hotel does NOT have private parking, the public parking next door was full and they won't assist you.Anyway about the hotel.

For starters the front door rails were rusty; the decor was like from an old 60s B movie.

although breeze comes up and noise at time of waves could be an issue if your light sleeper and like to leave door open.

There is a function room below these rooms and you can hear furniture being dragged across the floor at night, doors being slammed and the noise from the lift makes for a sleepless night.

Next door to me was a small child which loved waking up during the night screaming, this also woke me up, not saying all rooms are like this

There are a variety of bars/restaurants within a few minutes walk.

Also it would be helpful if the evening buffet menu was displayed on the notice board each evening.

There is alway plenty of choice at the evening meal too .

Restaurant overlooking the sea was perfect.

Pool and bar great reasonably priced great food.

The town is a short walk from the hotel lots of lovely restaurants to choose from.

Restaurant food very reasonable and tasty.

The dinner buffet was varied and delicious, with lots of fresh salads and fish.

We ate lunch twice and both times amazing .

The hotel is in a good location close to some really good restaurants and bars, or you can take a leisurely 15 minute stroll into the centre of Nerja and all it has to offer.

Restaurant was pleasant , food was typical carvery food

Location is good with some good bars and restaurants close by.

The restaurants that open during the day right on the beach were actually not bad priced for the location.

It's always advisable to start a review with a positive so with that in mind I will say that the Perla Marina is very well located, it's clean and the service in the pool side restaurant is reasonable.

My room had no balcony and when I went to reception about it they were not very helpful in fact they were quiet dismissive to me.

We had a room with a sea view in the block across the road from main reception.

We were in room 367 which looked out over the pool with the most fabulous mountain views.

Very nice hotel , clean rooms , comfortable beds , good air conditioning.Right on the beach and a lovely walk into the main part of town.

The rooms haven’t been renovated for a long time, the bath room and the bath tub definitely needs replacing.

Lovely touch for my birthday was a bottle of cava in room when we got back from day out.

but if we ever go back to Nerja we would definitely come back here lovely sea views great location the room ticks all the boxes and the staff are very friendly and helpful and just a short walk into the centre of Nerja

The guy in the dinning  room was an absolute gem .

We had a family room which was really big.

even though it wasn’t a ‘sea view’ room.

Just back from ten days in Perla Marina Lovely hotel staff were very good We stayed in room 255 which had amazing views and the cleaning staff were the best I have ever seen in any hotel a credit to them

The rooms were spotless we had a sea view with balcony.

Rooms comfortable and clean, most have sea views, free safe, could do with a kettle

The person who cleans our room everyday does a marvellous job it is so clean.

We were allocated a room in the annex, which is across the road from the hotel, room comfortable

I was very pleased with the room - a double for single use.

The room was of an adequate size and the bed was firm

The roof top pool was small with very few sun beds.

The public areas are acceptable,though the pool rather small for such capacity.

2 Small pools, one on front opposite beach next to restaurant and another on roof.

There is a snack bar in the main building which is reasonably priced, this is alongside the pool which to me is rather small bearing in mind that it has to serve the two buildings.

There are 2 small pools and not enough loungers to meet demand.

Both pools are small and so busy on Sunday - do locals come in?

Pool was very small ja there was No soundproofing At all In our Room.

We also looked at the roof top pool and again this is small, and without any bar or refreshments.

Rooms are adequate, lifts tiny, pool very small as its front line to the beach.
