What a view from our balcony the Balcon and sea Faultless thank you

The hotel - firstly the room was clean and very comfortable,however we had no balcony and the view was a white wall .It would certainly not put me off again

We had a lovely, spacious room with a balcony overlooking the Balcon which was lovely to sit and what the world go by.

We booked this hotel mainly for its location and booked a Junior Suite with a balcony and sea view.

As requested, I was allocated a top floor room with bath, front sea view & balcony.

The room (706) was amazing with a very large dual balcony overlooking both the sea and the famous balcón viewing point.

but the view from the balcony was amazing like being at the end of the earth with nothing but the sea in front of you.

We enjoyed our stay and our room was very comfortable and our sea view balcony very good

We booked a junior suite with sea view and balcony.

Having been here before with a Junior Suite with balcony overlooking the sea it was just perfect.

The rooms are so spacious and has a cute balcony overlooking the sea.

It was the biggest hotel bedroom I have ever seen!, the bed was also huge and the view from the balcony was spectacular.

We were fortunate enough to enjoy their Deluxe Junior Suite, which came complete with a hydro massage bath and a balcony which overlooks the sea.

Watching the sunrise from the balcony in the morning was so beautiful.

A good view from the balcony (our room overlooked the Promenade area), much more interesting than a sea view.

however was very different, on checking in we realised that the front facing rooms were all closed of for reservation and also the lovely big breakfast room which has a lovely view.

We opted to stay half- board, breakfast was always excellent with lots of choice,

Breakfast buffet is very good and we ate each day in Cafe Nautica.

Similar to other Spanish buffet style hotels or a little under par ate out for half the time.

Great views , great rooms, excellent staff, breakfast and dinner are really good, right on the beach , access from the lift, with beach towels provided, also access for guests to use the toilet on ground floor via your room card , not sure if anything could be improved, well done all of the staff and management

We had the buffet breakfast which had plenty of variety and you can also have omelettes and crepes cooked to order.

The food was uniformly excellent at breakfast and dinner, the choice and quality was superb.

Food is excellent at the hotel, buffet selection at breakfast and dinner is plentiful and tasty, nothing to complain about here.

It offers hot and cold buffet food and the usual breads, cheeses, fruits and cereals.

The evening meal is also a buffet with good quality food.

We had half board which was buffet breakfast and evening meal.

A few things we didn’t like were the hard beds , the poor air conditioning ( in November ) and especially a knock on the door and a phone call at literally 12.02 to say room needed to be vacated - we knew this and were just gathering ourselves together

The food was poor and totally overpriced ( this seems to be the main theme of this hotel) I came back from a wedding late in the evening, I hadn’t really eaten much during the day and I asked at reception if it was possible that I could have a bag of crisps/chips just to kill off my hunger.

Also I would say the choice of food in the buffet is very poor on an evening and breakfast is generally cold.

The tea and coffee at breakfast were awful and the quality of the ham poor.

The prawns seemed to have hung about all week in various disguises
 I agree with Beulah the desserts were poor  tasteless cakes and the biscuit on top of the custard, no idea why it was there.

but for me, a non meat eater, the choices were poor.

It was tired, had a tiny bathroom which measured 7’6” by 6”, with a shower over the bath, no separate cubicle, very poor quality toiletries, the cheapest loo rolls money can buy, and a loose toilet seat which remained that way throughout our visit.

Our one area of disappointment was the poor service in the dining room.

Dinner was generally quite poor ( hence 3 stars) mostly barely warm and not varied.

They then changed the wording on our confirmation and on line stating no balcony - by this time the hotel was fully booked and we couldn’t re book a balcony room

Breakfast was very poor with foul tasting coffee and a basic selection of foods more like a 2 star..

Choosing to book through TUI we expect them to filter out poor accommodation and not accept rooms just because the hotel classify it as a standard room.

but I had no option other than ending-up with a poor appetite for my evening meal.

but dinners have declined drastically including very poor wine cellar.

The room is spacious and the bed linen is clean, however you could hear your neighbors sometimes (poor sound proof). Buffet brekafast is good

but feel we have had a poor response to what we were told at check in.

Also reception asked for a credit card guarantee despite room being prepaid even before they welcomed me which probably put me a a poor mood before I had even fully checked in.

As ever, perfect location in the centre of town, our side sea view room ptovided amazing views overlooking the traffic free plaza, out to sea, and the mountains.

On arrival we were told we had been allocated room 908 and when I asked if it had a nice view I was told no sea view as this is the room I’d been given by TUI on booking and they wouldn’t budge with changing it saying the hotel was full (which on looking at balconies with sea views it clearly wasn’t).

but the room and views absolutely made up for that!

The views from this room were amazing and you can hear the waves gently lapping as you lay in bed.

Seafront view rooms if wanted are extra maybe 70 euros.

Amazing sea view room ,like I had never seen before .Was lovely to sit out on the balcony at night and hear the waves lapping on the sand .

Stayed in Room 104 which overlooked the sea and it was absolutely perfect.

We had a sea view room well worth the money the morning sunrise was spectacular.

I would recommend this as the best hotel in Nerja and I'd highly suggest getting an ocean view room.

We had the pleasure to stay at this lovely hotel in November The rooms and all facilities are second to none ,with breath taking views from our room I have travelled extensively ,and have never experienced more friendly and caring staff throughout We cannot wait to return

We are very lucky to have a front facing room with magnificent views of the sea, mountains, beaches and the actual Balcon de Europe, lovely time of year to come, the weather is great , and no crowds.

We booked a double oceanfront room direct with the hotel and that is exactly what we got .

but large sunbathing area below and on roof with spectacular views and jacuzzi a bonus

But above all excellent service and attention to customer care which was overwhelming and the Location !

We were there in early October for two weeks and always have a sea view room with balcony .

We stayed in a seaview room for 10 nights,first the plus points,lovely room kept spotless by the hard working cleaners,the position can’t be bitten,the fantastic staff,special thanks to Rita customer service manager,we had one small problem that she sorted straight away,she came to the breakfast room every morning to all the table’s,so hard working.

although it was a buffet menu there was always plenty to eat and on a lot of nights the food was cooked right before your eyes so it was always fresh.

The food at the Riu is extremely good with a wide choice at both breakfast and dinner.

The large buffet restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating; food was always of a high standard.

The hotel arranged chilled cava and a lovely gift /souvenir left in our room on the day.A very unexpected and thoughtful touch.The hotel rooms, pool and grounds are immaculately cleaned and maintained.The buffet dining arrangements are very well managed with a very extensive choice of local and European favourites.

Always a friendly helpful welcome at meal times with a great selection for both breakfast and dinner buffets.

All the staff were so helpful wherever you were in the hotel is pristine and the food was lovely at breakfast and dinner.

Food was lovely and the Al La Carte experience was the highlight of my stay, eating delicious food overlooking the sea complimented by wonderful friendly staff.

The pool area is kept pristine all the time and there isn’t a mad dash for sunbeds if you aren’t bothered about where you want to sit,but if you are then you can put your towels on your bed from 8am.The evening entertainment was ok

Had a wheelchair and despite different level the hotel was very suitable, with smooth floors and pool area.

All facilites gleaming and it is obvious that great pride is taken in maintenance of pool areas , public areas, reception lobby and grounds keeping.

Great pool area too and only a short walk from the lovely town area itself.

Pool area is superb, nobody allowed to put towels down before 8am and there was plenty of sunbeds.

Extremely spacious and lots of seating options- foyer, large bar, outside bar, atrium, large outside entertainment space, hotel restaurant inside and outside terrace, plenty sunbeds around pool area.

There are ample sunbeds at the pool area and the beach is directly opposite the hotel.

but you have to pay to use it( pet hate as this is just making money)  the pool area is very nice and clean Leads through a gate on to the beach location is great.

The pool area is very nice and beautifully  calm, no intrusive music or "activities," which I particularly  like.

The pool area had plenty of sunbeds, and there were also 2 other sun terraces with sunbeds.

Beauiofully clean pool area with ramp leading to the promenade and the  beach is just 20 metres away.

Loads of sun loungers around pool area  (still get the usual towels in beds malarkey which was funny to watch) or beds available on beach for a small fee.

Had a wonderful time, friendly staff and very clean hotel, good size room, food 4/5 depends on personal taste, lovely pool area on the sea front.

Location is good for short walk into town with numerous bars and restaurants, even in winter months.

There are a dozen bars and restaurants very near to the Riu Monica, and the town centre streets are lined with little shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.

Out the door to the left is a street with a lovely new little cafe bar called cafe wena .

The hotel is in a great location for the town and there are many bars and restaurants nearby if you fancy a change.

Hotel is spotlessly clean, staff from the cleaners to reception, bar and restaurant staff are friendly and welcoming.

Hotel RIU Monica is situated in nice location close to many bar’s restaurants.

This hotel is great, perfect location for walking out to bars and restaurants.

Plenty of good restaurants and bars within a short walking distance.

There are lots of good bars and restaurants nearby.

The surrounding areas lots of bars and restaurants opposite.

The hotel is just a ten minute walk up into the area full of bar’s restaurants & the many shops & ice cream vendors.

Few bars across the road for lunch or evening drink, (Ship is my choice) great staff, Nerja town 10-15 walk with plenty of shops bars restaurant etc.

Lovely couple of bars across the road and a short walk to the Balcon of Europe for lots of shops bars and restaurants.

The location is ideal as well, some nice bars and restaurants are across the road and within five minutes walk there are plenty more, we were only a ten minute walk from the center on Nerja as well.

Nerja itself is a lovely place, plenty of bar & restaurant options, from Tapas to Nepalese.

Hotel is on a great spot to walk into the square (10mins) where there are plenty of bars and restaurants.

although there are some people who seem to rush down in the morning to leave towels and then disappear!

Enjoyed everything about this hotel (except the towels which are small and hard!).

but please upgrade the towels, thin, ragged and sad and when I caught a bit of sunburn it was most unpleasant using them.

Sadly the habit of people putting towels down early morning is a pain,

but of course the towels go out early though the sitters are not as early!

My only criticism would be the room towel are a bit smalland thin.

The booklet even states that staff will actively remove said towels if this practice is seen to be happening.

The only complaint I have is that towels put onto sunbeds and no one coming back to them until well into the afternoon  there was a lifeguard on duty and no towels were taken off sunbeds like the notice said it would be.

however be quite busy around the pool with people putting towels down quite early , we still still found sun beds that were suitable for us.

We did chuckle some days watching guests from our balcony rushing to put towels out, in the same spot, day after day as

The only criticism was of other guests who reserved sun beds with towels not returning for long periods of time, not easy for the hotel to police!

The only down size to the room was the towels in the bathroom,they were thread bear and small.

The only thing I didn’t like and it’s petty, the bathroom towels were a waste of space, they were small and useless, plus it could of done with some music round the pool, and that is it.

Towels are a bit threadbare and could do with replacing.

towels are rather small and far from soft and fluffy no  face cloths, slippers or bath robes.

but towels in room are very rough and should be updated.

People did go and put their towels down early and leave them for hours unattended!

If your not so active or able you can easily stop on the way for refreshments 😊 would I stay here again yep, are most or the reviews on here stupid, so what if the towels are brown or thin, thin means they dry quicker! !

Breakfast was excellent, with a full selection of hot and cold plates, cereals etc.

Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice for everyone.

And the breakfast they have really is fabulous.

The facilities were excellent and we had a delicious breakfast every morning.

The breakfast was very good, including real irish style bacon instead of just the usual fried ham that you get in Europe.

The breakfast has lots of choice, bar & pool bar food is good & portions are big.

We were bed and breakfast and the breakfast was very good, with a good choice of cooked or continental type breakfast.

Excellent facilities throughout the complex, terrific breakfast and bar food.

The range of food at breakfast was good and all hot food was perfectly cooked.

The breakfast offer in the morning was always superb with a choice of hot or cold options a chef station, cereals, fruits, breads of all types, cold meats, salads, nuts, juice station, coffee and tea facilities and of course very warm and friendly service.

We had room and breakfast and the breakfast catered for all tastes and was delicious.

Clean,very attentive staff, excellent food the breakfast was absolutely wonderful swimming pool lovely, could not find any faults, clpse to the beach and some wonderful places to eat, would stay again.

A short walk from the beach and town, amazing a la carte restaurant and good breakfast buffet.
