When I went back to my room a portable heater had been slipped into my room.

The as an urban dweller, I was worried about the lack of AC

but I was a bit disappointed by the slightly mouldy smell in the room, no air-condition, no wifi, and very hard mattress.

My wife is cold blooded and they provided a heater and additional covers for her.

There is no a/c and which could be a problem in very hot weather.

One caveat: there are mosquitoes, and there is no air-conditioning nor screens on the windows, so if you open the windows you need to sleep under the netting and might still get bitten.

My only hesitation would be staying here in the heat of summer without any a/c or screens on the windows -- we tried opening a window one night and immediately had mosquitoes.

The weather was a bit chilly for February, so heaters had been supplied and we were always snug.

Anna drove over twice to the apartment to bring heaters, an exhaust fan, and a huge amount of towels.

Four of us stayed w/Anna and John in early June, and while I am not a fan of B & B's, they may have made a believer out of me.

Breakfast was very nice with lovely touches.

A lovely setting high above Nazare with beautiful grounds, roaming peacocks, guinea hens and chickens that provide fresh eggs for breakfast.

Breakfast is huge, with fresh local produce and homemade cakes to die for!!

I could talk about the wonderful breakfasts with fresh eggs and produce or the beautiful home and grounds,

The breakfast was fabulous especially the lovers’ pudding and farm fresh eggs.

Whether it's the superb seaview from the room, or the lovely peacocks on the grounds, or the lovely breakfast (and how can I forget, the delicious 'pudim com amor', which we got an extra piece for the road), they all helped to make this a memorable stay.

The breakfasts served were very good, especially the juice, and even had fresh eggs one morning form the chickens raised on the property.

It's located on beautiful grounds, clean and comfortable rooms, and a very nice breakfast served with care.

Amazing hosts, great room with ocean view, super breakfast, nice bed, quiet farm house.

The breakfast each morning was different and spectacular.

We were served a fabulous breakfast each morning consisting of fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, cereal, cake, eggs, yogurt you name it and of course the most delicious Portuguese bread brought in fresh from the bakery daily.

Eggs are served fresh from her chickens, accompanied by other traditional breakfast dishes from her family recipes.

Each morning Anna and here daughter, Anna, prepared a breakfast obviously made with love.

The breakfast was wonderfully delicious and their recommendation for dinner was perfect!

Parking on the property is secure at night; the gate is closed so the chickens don't get out.

We were disappointed to find that Qunita das Rosas was closed for the winter,

If you close the windows the noise level is lowered

When I asked for herbal tea she reached out the window and clipped some Verbena for me from her garden.

The bathroom was larger than a typical Potuguese bathroom and had a shower, sink, toilet and a small window looking onto the coast.

Squeaky clean, probably recently renovated property, and very nice, friendly ladies at the front desk, good, breakfast.

The room had a sea view and was big enough for the two of us with all conveniences including a safe, heating and AC with a plentiful supply of tea or coffee complementary from reception along with cakes and other edible goodies.

But do come back to the Mar Bravo's restaurant  for delicious seafood.

The breakfast was good and we also loved eating on the patio at the restaurant.

The breakfasts were good and the staff was helpful.

At the breakfast the next morning (average at best), there were several other very bleary eyed older couples.

The staff were terrific, and the included breakfast was fantastic.

We also had dinner at the restaurant and it was delicious.

but listening to the waves lull us to sleep was delicious.

The restaurant in the hotel has a good selection of very tasty food, everything we ate was really delicious - they offer 10% discount to the hotel guests, which was a nice surprise.

The breakfast was top notch with a wide selection of hot and cold items.

Very convenient with parking and breakfast included .

Breakfast was ok - the usual breads, meats, cheeses, yogurt, and some really nasty-looking black bananas.

Breakfast was good with a variety of choices including, of course, pastel de nata.

The best part about the hotel was the view of the ocean from our room, its immediate access to the beach and boardwalk, and the its restaurant, including the breakfast,

My card in question was used that day and had 0 issues.

My credit card (booked through booking.com) had already been dinged for all 3 nights  We opted to bail after one night, forfeiting the last two, as we couldn't bear the thought of another night like the first one.

but you'll first need a card from Mar Bravo to get into it.

It’s the least they could do when charging the highest rates in town.

What is so disheartening is Hotel Mar Bravo charged us twice for our stay and have never once offered anything at all in return.

I contacted the hotel directly and they told me that they would not charge me

My credit card had been lost and replaced months ago and two other hotels did in fact request updated information, also months ago, not the day before.

But, you're staying at a seaside property with the soaring cliffs of Sitio on one side and the postcard card view of the beach right in front of you.

however, when we returned from an outing to Alcobaca and I went to the desk to ask for the key card for the nearby garage, the same receptionist told me that her "colleagues", presumably the housekeeping staff, and her "director" had checked into the matter and told her that we were at fault and that we had made the stains ourselves.

There were plugs available for charging, good WiFi in the room and down in the lobby and dining area.

In general I think this hotel is max worth  70 euros per night and not 120 as they were charging.

The only caveats about this hotel are the very, very small room size and an extra charge of 7 euro a night for Internet (we stayed with 12 hotels in Spain and Portugal, and none of the others tacked on a fee).

The only neggie is that the hotel charges for Internet usage -- we stayed in 20 hotels on our five week trip and only found three hotels that still do that --

However, due to the location be prepared for a lot of noise.

but just to let you know it can be a busy, even loud location.

Although that enhanced our views of the point, it also is the side that most of the seaside car traffic has to use to exit the area and hosts some venues that create noise into the late evening.

The only con is the hotel is a bit noisy.

but when you arrive at the hotel, the traffic and parking issues are immediately forgotten.

However, please note that any beach front room also exposes the visitor to noise and commotion from the central boardwalk, making sleeping less than optimal and certainly a deterrent to open windows at night.

but with the traffic and lack of parking space the garage was lucky star on a tourist sky.

Other reviews warned about street noise, so I was suspecting the worse,

The last night was difficult to sleep because of the noise from the street.

The noise and bright lights on the square below kept me awake all night.

Impossible to sleep with windows open – very noisy.

but for the same reason it is also rather noisy and cramped.

The highlight was sound of machinery in the room till 2300 with no help (room 303).

though the windows are double pane, there is a lot of street noise as people loiter on the beach across from the hotel until dawn.

but small and the room itself was minute.

The only down side was that the rooms were rather small.

The hotel is a couple minutes walk from the beach and to the funicular station.

We loved that we could walk everywhere, Ocean is dynamic and culture captivating.

It is located just a short block away from the beach so we parked the car at the hotels offsite parking garage (which was 2 blocks away

We loved the location of this hotel -  easy to walk to the beach and stores/restaurants.

The location of the hotel was perfect, a few minutes walk to the beach and other attractions in the town,

The location can't be beat - two blocks to beach and equally short walk to Nazare's "uptown" funicular with its scenic views.

This place truly impressed us with its impeccable cleanliness, contemporary design, and top-notch amenities.

Our room (at the back) was spacious, immaculate, nicely decorated and well-equipped.

The aesthetic of the hotel is also very modern and I welcomed the change.

We ultimately choose one bright one which overlooked the street, which ended up being a bit too cozy for 2 people (though this was fine for our one-night stay) and had construction on the other side of the street.

The entire property is pristine, the lounge is a wonderful place to relax with a coffee or a drink.

The bathroom was spaciously designed with excellent water pressure.

This hotel is centrally located and pristine clean with friendly staff.

The room we got is big, nicely decorated and the staff are very friendly.

The bathroom is a clever design that makes you want to stay awhile.

Our room was  well appointed, nice bedding, towels etc.

We had amazing service at reception and even help at getting us a reservation at a no-reservation restaurant ;)

but the views were stunning and the breakfast phenomenal (the best of the 4 hotels we stayed at).

Meal was super yummy, Numerous appetizers and great variety of main courses and deserts.

The mini-box( looks like a fridge ) is not a fridge and no tea pot or tea/coffee.

BTW Nazare is chockablock full of GREAT restaurants.

We arrived late and decided to have dinner in the restaurant.

For around £70 per night B and B this is a very good value hotel.The staff are friendly and efficient, rooms are comfortable (opt for sea-view), food and drink become more than just ok when you are enjoying them in the restaurant and bar with panoramic views.Its about a 25minute walk down to the beach so we felt that our hire car came in useful particularly to get to the mega waves at Sitio/Praia da Norte.

The panoramic restaurant at the top is an added value.

We booked our table for that evening and arrived on the 4th floor to eat.

The food at the restaurant is very very good!

but restaurants and the beach will require transportation to town.

There is a depressing cafe by the outdoor pool with few options other than a dinner buffet on the 4th floor in the evening.

Room 310 has amazing views of the sea and Nazare sunsets.

it is a very nice 4 stars hotel , the room was not very big ,

After the first restless  uncomfortable night we asked the lady at the reception if we could move to a room with more comfortable beds. She told us that, "all the beds are the same."

although the room was spacious, it was terribly dated and some of the hardware and other elements were broken.

The rooms seemed a reasonable size and clean.

Otherwise the rooms are well laid out, clean and you have a beatifull view over the bay and Nazaré.

Rooming was fast, and the rooms are big and new.

The buffet dinner was 25 Euros per person and it was so disgusting.

Every time the a/c went on smelled of a smoke.

My room was disgustedly filthy,I had to clean it myself as the manger wont show up to talk to me.

this facility is equilvent to a cheap holiday inn hotel in the u.s. at 72.00 e per night the rooms are cold and they smell of a musty odor from the floor carpets.

The bed was slightly uncomfortable, and the pillows were very cheap and nasty.

Room was not very clean, some sort of urine smell.

The first room we were given smelled so badly that we asked to move.

No properly finishing of the building, poor equipment and furniture qualitly at all levels, off resulting in broken tiles and paths, swimming pool, bathroom equipment, leaking drainage of upper terrasse.

We asked fot a non-smoking room and the receptionist laughed and said "this is a non-smoking hotel".

Reception staff were very helpful throughout our stay.

Staff friendly, spoke great english and quite helpful.

Pool area very quiet and reception staff helpful.

The staff was lazy – I pointed out to the front desk that the vinyl benched outside were totally wet after a recent rain and everyone who sat on them got up with wet pants.

but we were very appreciative of her gesture.

All of the staff were very friendly and as helpful as you can get.

The people are very nice and willing to assist and help.

The hotel personnel are so nice here it almost makes up for the horrible mattress.

NICE THINGS TO SAY : Excellent views of Nazaré, very helpful and friendly front desk staff, great indoor pool with water therapy machine.

The reception counter was  grungy with a chipped wood counter and it just didn’t have a feel of a 4 star holiday hotel.

We arrived at 18:30, the staff is friendly and they speak good english.
