Breakfast was plentiful and very fresh and tasty.

The food (dinner and breakfast) was excellent.

There are lots of delicious Spanish options for breakfast, which is great for vegetarians.

The staff were good and breakfast offered a wide array of food, fresh fruit, breads , freshly cooked eggs to order etc., all in all pretty good.

There was plenty of space and large, comfortable lounges to sit and relax, we enjoyed their delicious menu of local foods, especially the trout and the staff who were unfailingly welcoming and highly professional.

Breakfast had an extensive range of options and rooms to the expected high Parador standard.

but were served entrecote which was very tough although parts that were edible tasted quite good.

The bar serves a delicious local beer too; the microbrewery is nearby and can also be visited.

but Parador preserves the essentials to make your stay very enjoyable. Rooms are very clean and having comfortable beds, you have several terraces with breath taking views, buffet breakfast is very good (fresh orange juice, fruits, eggs,.  )

Strangely enough, for a large hotel, which was supposedly fully booked, we saw only the same half dozen couples at dinner and at breakfast the following day.

even though - traveling with a dog, we were accommodated in one of the lower quality rooms (the parquet floor and the wooden door were pretty badly damaged).

but let down by poor acoustics , I suspect the inner door to the rooms was either not fitted or removed for whatever reason resulting in a somewhat noisy experience when guests or staff were near the corridor outside our door.

If the door could be split so the top could be opened that would overcome the problem.

A bathroom, small lounge area with sagging striped sofa and a sliding door leading to a very small bedroom with the narrowest four poster bed we'd ever seen.

It is a noisy hotel as the floors and doors creak.

The next confusion was the missing price list for the minibar in the hotel room, so one could assume that the various soft drinks such as water or Coca-Cola are courtesy from the hotel.

However, it was disappointing to then see that they offer plastic straws in the restaurant and they wrap the cups in the bathroom in plastic too.

The signature dishes judías de Barco (white beans with meat) and natillas (some sort of custard) could have been better.

Neither of us having tried bacalao before I can't really comment on the quality; perhaps it's supposed to be rubbery and tasteless (they have that down to a fine art in the kitchens at the Parador Gredos).

The only weak point we found is that the place can get very crowded and busy during the weekend, as locals from the nearby villages often come to hang aroung and have a cup of coffee at the hotel.

The last morsel of food had barely left the plate before the plate was whisked away.

however, is the fact, that for some of these dishes had to be paid a "supplement".

Plus the natillas was way too much: a full soup plate.

His veal – a speciality of this mountainous region – must have spent its very long life training  for some kind of bovine Olympics before dying of old age and ending up as a tough, grisly slab  on his plate sans garnish.

We tried to have a snack in the main cafeteria on a Saturday evening, and gave up after waiting more than 20 minutes at a table full of durty dishes as no waiter showed up.

As there is no air conditioning it is desirable to open the window for fresh air.

but when we went to down to dinner, the four tables next to the only four windows in the huge, unadorned canteen-type dining room were already occupied, so much for that.

Breakfasts at this hotel quite took us by surprise, they are enormous, served buffet style to your table and just as you think, that’s it, more food arrives!

The breakfast is served as a mini-buffet to your table .. far too much,

The food in the hotel was excellent- we had wonderful breakfasts, enormous packed lunches and good menu choices for the evening meals.

but everything cooked with natural ingredients.

(The cakes at breakfast were great as well).

Was charged about 7 euro for a melon ball scoup of ice cream for my 3 year old daughter.

Even if it was on limits, you wouldn't want to do it because of the din the kids make.

They also laid out breakfast for us so we could have breakfast before regular service and prepared lunch packets.

Lolly is a great cook, and they offered a great value package for breakfast and dinner.

but we had breakfast, which was traditionally spanish.

but functional bathroom.TV is Spanish only and wifi worked OK(better near reception) Breakfast was extra and Spanish ( bread, olive oil spreads,pastry).

The food was simply fantastic - clearly all home cooked, really well presented, and delicious.

was placed too high on the wall, so you couldn´t get a clear picture, and it had only Spanish channels.

Not too hot, fewer people & a lot of the summer migrants (birds - not people) have only recently arrived and are still singing or feeding young.

but, as there are lots of accommodation options in the area needs to upgrade the property accordingly.
