but food quality and selections in happy hour exceeded my expectation; the 1st evening's cook-by-order course, and the next day's small buffet also.

Executive club service was not free of charge (as it usually is).

The only thing that annoyed me during my stay was the air conditioning in my room/ the whole floor was turned off in October hence the room got quite stuffy and hot.

Apparently what they don't tell you is the law prohibits them from putting it on if the weather is not hot enough.

Food very good according to western standard, specially the breakfast was excellent.

I'd actually give the edge to the Jinshi based on its food selection and the nice extra touches they do, including some free snacks in the room upon arrival, and the buffet has a better selection for vegetarians with more steamed options.

The restaurant is a foodies delight - huge selection of every type of food available - both Western and Asian. Close to great restaurants (best pizza just around the corner at O Cafe!)

however there’s also a new mall opposite the hotel with a few restaurants.

The only thing about this hotel is that it is about 15minute walk to shops or the a 5 min cab ride to the centre of town.

5 mins in a taxi to a great shopping centre with 'golden eagle' huge store where there are lots of restaurants.

The fitness center is well equipped for those that want circuit training or any dedicated muscle training.

but actually i spotted twice that tenants have lighting cigarettes on their mouths, walking in the hall and in elevator.

If you compare this with other holiday inns it's very ok.

This is a good business hotel in city centre.

Would recommend as it's in the city centre.

We stayed in the Nantong Hotel apartments (the hotel has 3 buildings, a hotel, a conference centre and apartments).

The location is great, everyday the baby and I walked around the city and found many shops, historical sites and parks all within easy walking distance.

I was booked into this hotel by a client who was proud that this was the only 5* hotel in the city.

I have discovered this strange fascination with glass walls.

It is very near a big park and also the government office buildings.

Nantong hotels are all relatively expensive for a very poor offering.

They will produce whatever is needed for you from any cuisine.

Some examples : no in room menu, no bed lamps, no wifi in the rooms, restaurant closed at 9pm, no or few english speaking staff, cold atmosphere, no heater in the room when outside temperature at 15°c, breakfast far too local style, very poor check-in and check-out experience.

Firstly, the location in the centre on Nantong is good.

I was staying one night in Nantong while on business and just wanted a clean room at the best price.

I asked for a non-smoking room and got one that did not smell of smoke.

but to me I loved it ,
Furnishings are great , food is excellent and 5 minutes walk across the bridge into a great shopping centre where prices are 60 % of Shanghai, staff were excellent and English was no problem, Would always stay there if again in Nantong.

The bathroom has all amenities -- soap, shampoo, conditioner, loofa, toothbrush, razor, cotton -- just check the drawers in the bathroom.

For giggles, check out the buffet -- there is a dish called "F--- a Bullfrog" (no lie) which is to die for.

Slow check-in with obsolete office equipment.

Cleanliness has never been an issue, housekeeping is good and Landry is efficient.

Nantong is very small city, it's full of factories so many people is on business trip every year I think this city really need a good 5 star hotel.

but not for a 5 star hotel at those prices.

But the room is comfortable, the bed linens and towels are clean, the room is reasonably clean,

But, the location of Nantong Hotel was not good -- it was not near any good shopping or restaurants, and not in the beautiful part of the city.
