The staff were all very welcoming and helped me get back into the same room we’d been staying in, the breakfast buffet was great and its located close to at least 2 subways stations.

Breakfast had the best selection encountered on our entire trip.

We really appreciated the breakfast buffet as there were both Chinese and Western food choices.

Also, the hotel restaurants are primarily for the Chinese market - this means some super food experiences at breakfast.

Being IHG platinum members, Mr. Laurence Liu upgraded us to a suite with breakfast and it was perfect for our stay in Nanjing.

Room is ok and the breakfast is about ok. Maybe for breakfast the options could be more and the hot food kept hotter.

His attitude and service to the guests at the hotel are completely rude and he didn’t care about the guests at the hotel at all.

Before printing any attention signs, with the Holiday Inn logo, please at least get an English teacher or native speaker to review, it let your guests feel uncomfortable and let your hotel feel unprofessional.

but it certainly causes inconvenience to hotel guests.

I realised that hotel was fully booked as the summer holidays had already started and guests were pouring in.

The only minor issue we had was the tiling/layout of the bath tub/shower: we could not take a shower without the bathroom floor getting partly flooded, and it was clear many guests had experienced this before us (the bathroom door was warped).

The hotel breakfast was ok.  As we're attending a wedding ceremony in Nanjing where all of the overseas guests where staying at the Holiday Inn (as the previous night we're staying at Crown Plaza instead), so my husband had called up the Duty Manager - Covy for assistance if they could arrange us for the room early on the next morning.

Since it was the beginning of weekend, hotel occupancy were full in most places, and some places doesn't accept foreigner guests!!

Location wise, this hotel is good in that it is connected to the Aqua City Mall with its many small eateries.

The location of the hotel was indeed ideal for a person who is in to shopping,

but the front desk guy couldn't recognize that I'm an IHG member and no member benifit was offered; then he tried to confirmed with me that I only book for one night, I am sure if he did his job with heart, he could see in the system that I booked for 2 nights.

Had an issue at check-in as they sad they didnt have th esuite we reserved online.

If you have a local office, better to have them make the reservation since they will get a better deal.

Secondly when we checked out I was guaranteed by the person who checked us out that they would be refunding the difference of the deposit not charging us as well.

Also her words made me very worried that I had to cancel the vacation and head back to Shanghai if no other hotel will accept my stay as she said.

Also they messed up our reservations the first night and instead of adjoining rooms we had 2 separate rooms.

The check in staff allowed me to check in at 11am and went out of their way to ensure a room was available despite the fact that they were fully booked for the event I was attending.

During check-in, I realized that they only have two people in their record, and I insisted there're three people specifically when I booked at holiday inn website.

The hotel actually adjoins a shopping mall called Aqua City, where there are a number of water fountains.

All I could remember was that it was next to a shopping mall.

It is attached to the shopping mall, with another mall across the street, giving you good dining options as well as shopping.

Location is ok with a shopping mall attached to the hotel.

The hotel was in the best location with full scale shopping mall (Aqua City) attached, nearby restaurants (including Blue Frog -all western menu with full bar and happy hour),  and huge outdoor market shopping with boat rides and temple tours all in very short walking distance.

I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions it has a fantastic location very convenient for everything and it is attached to a large shopping mall.

This was my second stay and I still liked this place as it is close to the Confucius Temple and several shopping malls.

The location is pretty handy, not far from the subway and connected to a big shopping mall so handy for a bite to eat.

The hotel is well located, close to the metro and also in a very interesting area - several big shopping malls for a western style experience,

The Holiday Inn Aqua city is about 5 minutes walk from SanShanjie metro station and part of a reasonably new shopping mall with plenty of resturants to be able to find western and chinese food.

Avoid the lobby lounge where heavy smoking is accepted in the evenings.

On the first night, I ordered a fish burger, and upon first bite, found the fish to be either stale or already rotten.

The service at check in was slow and sub standard, the room and corridors are old and have a stale smell.

The smell was from the bathroom drains so keep them well shut at all time.

I am not very good with smells, and didn't realise until some time later that they put me in a smoking room when I requested for a non smoking one.

We walked in and the whole room felt damp-ish and was sort of musty.

The ventilation of the changing room for swimming pool are very bad, so be aware of the smell.

But there is no general non-smoking signage currently in the lobby/desk area of this hotel.

but the hose is too short to be able to stand up straight, towel rack and hook above the bath so after showering your towels are damp.

However the room smelt like there had been a (cheeky) smoker in there before (why do people ignore the rules?!).

Hotel next to large shopping center: food / shopping at your convenience; within 10 minutes walk, is the largest tourist attraction for locals and foreigners.

It is also close to the Confucian Temple area and Qian Huai River, both huge tourist attractions, especially at night.

The hotel staff are friendly, the restaurant is very delicious, and the transportation is very convenient，The view of the room is superb，The tallest building in Nanjing.

Take note: I came at 7 AM and there were only 5 of us there at the breakfast place.

We had three wonderful breakfasts and two great dinners at the hotel (45th floor) - all dishes were at very high quality and we enjoyed the top service.

If you have your breakfast in the club (47F), the shrimp dumpling is a must-have.

The room was a really big, nice, and a good view from the restaurant where we enjoyed the buffets.

The breakfast is mixed so plenty of choices.

We had a buffet dinner at a restaurant on 45th floor.

The staff were very attentive, the breakfast was filling and the cocktails and canapes in the evening were excellent.

The breakfast was top with an incredible choise (fruit, eggs,croissant, yoghurt, bread, . ).

And, if you can, don't miss the breakfast.

The Club Lounge was a very spectacular one.

I particularly liked the Club Lounge as the service is excellent.

It can cause some damage to the bank cards, when sandwiched with other key cards.

Hour 6: finally they put a pre- auth on my card.

but on departure we were charged 466 RMB.

Now here is where our frustrations come, we had to find a way to spend the ¥800 dining credit because it couldn’t be applied to the Christmas Buffet.

Finally we got back to hotel at 4, and when taking the room cards, it seemed they’ve changed us the room to one in Floor 62.

The ATM in the lobby does not work with foreign cards (my wife and I tried several different types) -- there is a branch of the bank of china a few blocks walk away where the ATMs do work for foreigners.

Only problem here is they only issue 1 card and with 2 person in a room, both have to go up or down together.

Allison to her credit did address the problem and offered us to move to another suite.

The Intercontinental Hotel has some issues:
- Our room on arrival was not ready (2pm and booked a week in advance)
- We were offered another room which was ready for 200 RMB more

They gave us our food vouchers without telling us about the need to reserve spots.

Breakfast was a revelation - no one offered tea or coffee.

The service is stretched out over a very large area and if sitting at one end, you have to walk a long way from your table just to see what was on offer.

The main beauty of the suite is the Xuanwu Lake view with much of the additional northern city in view.

Our family stayed at IC Nanjing for one night and our basic king-bed room was pre-upgraded to a high-floor lake view room with a fabulous view of Xuanwu Lake.

The location is great near Xuanwu Lake and other attractions.

Location wise is quite central to some of the well visited tourist spots such as Xuanwu Lake, Nanjing Massacre Memorial and Presidential Palace.

We had a room which was fit to play Mini-Golf, it was literally huge with a separate closet area, a big office desk to work and great view of the XUANWU LAKE.

The room was spacious and we had a beautiful view over the Xuanwu Lake.

The hotel building the the highest one in Nanjing, it has good view of Zijin Mountain and Xuanwu Lake.

Breakfast dinner buffet was a mix of Chinese and western and a sushi / sashimi counter - reasonably priced; breakfast buffet had normal western and Chinese selections.

The hotel is very comfortable, fantastic breakfast and the metro station is just 3 minutes walking.

If only myself or my husband came down to breakfast with the two children, the staff would bring us coffee or stay with the children while we went to the buffet.

Included breakfast was a good mix of eastern and western foods.

Attention to detail was evident in that everywhere I looked someone was cleaning - doors, hallways, etc.

My room was facing the indoor atrium and thus, there was no fresh air from outside that could cool the room even I opened the door to the balcony.

But thankfully the balcony doors open to let cooling air in.

Also, the tables by the windows were next to doors with a SIGNIFICANT and unrestricted cold draft (recommendation:  Invest in some better weather stripping all around the door jams). (brrrr!)

There is a metro station about 20 minutes away.

It is very close to Xin Jie Kou metro station exit 14 and you can take line 1 and then S1 to get to Lu Kou international airport.

It would be helpful if the hotel provided a shuttle to the station.

Would be great if hotel can provide regular shuttle to nearest metro station, which is about 2km away.

Definitely worth a stay since it's near the subway as well as near the shopping centres.

It’s the No 4 Line in the subway system; easy to change to Line 2 and then it’ll take you to the main tourist sights.

The subway is only 5 minutes walk away from the hotel.

but easy access to the subway provides the remedy.

Moreover, the breakfast there was pretty nice and it covers a lot local street food for us to attempt.

The breakfast room on the 20th or 22nd floor was bright, spacious, had very nice views over the surrounding area, and had a huge selection of breakfast items.

Breakfast excellent, rooms very comfortable.

My short stay at this place was so enjoyable mainly because of her, and of course, the delicious food and decent facilities also add to the satisfaction.

Standard breakfast was great with a wide range of different foods and the Club breakfast as just as good with a good selection and eggs of your choice as well as traditional food.

Breakfast was only available in the executive lounge, so that was pretty average compared to your usual separate full buffet breakfast in a separate hotel cafe, common in China hotels.

We enjoyed the buffet today and the enormous selection.

Well appointed rooms, good breakfast (overlooking the lake) and efficient, friendly service.

The breakfast buffet was also very good with many good choices and also offered nice views while dining.

Before the trip I was checking with different hotels like Inter Continental or Shangri-La,
