I need not have worried, from the moment we parked up (then charged the electric car very handily in the car park) and walked through the front doors we knew we had chosen well.

All these things have made me wonder if families are actually not really wanted here which is a shame as loved the setting, area , the walls the views and the staff were manly lovely - was grateful fir the barman who informed me of the £7.50 room service charge for 2 glasses of  bedtime milk for the kids ( no fridge in room)so I could go down 1 flight of stairs and get it myself and leave a tip!

The bill, when it came (after asking) contained the “optional” service charge which, had we noticed at the time, we would have asked to be removed.

We were charged for the full bottle of wine

If the service had been unacceptable, I would have needed to ask for the charge to be removed, to the embarrassment of the waiter and to me.

Please also note they charge for the coffee served with the breakfast and without even asking for consent add 10% “optional “ service charge to all food and drinks.

With the service we received I don’t think the optional service charge should not have been added.

We were not charged for this as we returned them.

But only charged for one of the mornings drinks not both, which doesn’t really make sense?

Wine charged at £20 makes us wonder if a glass of wine was £10, given we had two glasses-

If that wasn't enough, we were charged £25 each for this experience.

We were then charged for our sweets which hadn't been mentioned before ordering and they were not cheap or worth the money.

Didn't see one person in charge at breakfast, a couple of minor things cropped up

Some 75 minutes later, after waiting for a obnoxious duty manager to say to us that she can't authorise a refund and we can't get it just now as there is a problem with the card machines within the hotel.

I thought the charge for soak-off rather high.

When I checked the bill we had been overcharged by nearly £20 as the kids meals were charged as component parts in addition to the fixed price.

And the bill was wrong (we’d been charged again for the pre-paid spa treatments).

Double check and can see directly, I’ve been charged for the room, which I’ve paid already in advance, so he took it off.

We were charged £15 each for this and £2.80 for a small glass of coke.

We were asked for our desert order 3 times and had 2 desserts charged after only ordering one.

The Spa facilities were far beyond my expectations- the himalayian salt room, the experience shower,the spectacular stone bath room 👌 I travel all around the world and I had never ever had such an amazing experience.

It’s a shame as the staff have not been trained enough to use the booking system and could have saved the OTA fees… I know staff resources are precious at the moment so I empathise …setting this aside it’s a lovely hotel in an idyllic location the facilities are great and we will certainly go back.

Linzi the Spa receptionist  is very professional, and an asset to her team and the facilities were very clean.

It’s a pity we live quite far away otherwise we would be there each day to use the fantastic swimming pool and spa facilities as well as treating ourselves to a lovely hospitality on offer.

I STRONGLY advice people to enjoy this hotel, enjoy the pool facilities.

Amazing spa facilities with fantastic views from the hot tub.

We both enjoyed the spa treatments and where amazed by the spa facilities everything was very clean, and the pool temperature was prefect.

We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea and dinner, the sea feature room was marvellous, we greatly enjoyed the newly refurbished spa facilities and we loved our congratulations slate of treats in the room!

We had an absolutely wonderful time, thanks in part to the beautiful location, excellent hotel facilities and superb service from the friendly staff.

The swimming pool and hot tub were a welcoming haven after our long walks.

The restaurant need to improve to remain in line with the rest of the hotel and facilities.

The rooms are excellent, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and equipped with everything that you need.

On arrival greeted by thoroughly professional reception host in Megan who explained the various facets of the hotel and facilities with details of the necessary Covid enforced restrictions - naturally beyond everyone's control

We really enjoyed our stay and the use of the Spa facilities.

We were able to make use of the leisure facilities with little or no restrictions which was great and very relaxing.

They were happy to show us round the hotel, and the swimming pool and spa area.

The tennis courts are wonderful and an excellent facility as well.

The spa and pool plus lots of extras such as relaxation areas, steam room/sauna/hot tubs were all immaculately clean and the decor and ambience was so relaxing and more than comparable to a 5 star spa.

We loved the pool / hot tub / tennis courts too.

The outside hot tub remains one of our favourite spots.

Spa still has bit of work going on, pool good and outdoor hot tub over looking sea and snowy mountains is a great setting.

The outdoor hot tub whilst watching the sea crash onto the beach is delightful.

From the victorian decor to an outdoor hot tub it's a perfect retreat.. 
On entering the perfectly appointed bed room ( the 1930s radio was on) 
The personalised headline page provided much needed information pertinent to your vist was a nice touch.

We absolutely adored the outdoor hot tub and got good use of this.

Social distance was maintained in all parts of hotel.. We really enjoyed the facilities such as hot tub would have loved a glass of wine

The hot tub outside is a must looking over to the Black Isle on a morning after a lovely swim.

We then returned to the hot tub and pool before getting changed and going for food ( included ) in the restaurant, affording fabulous views.

The pool is really warm which is a rare treat with the addition of a roasting hotjacuzzi and an outdoor hot tub.

The pool, outside hot tub and sauna were very much  appreciated.

The hot tub and pool facilities were great, as were the staff - very helpful.

but having spa is good to pass the day,hot tub fantastic.

The spa facilities are also incredible, pool, sauna, steam room, outdoor hot tub take your pick, with some truly breathtaking scenery to enjoy at the same time.

We enjoyed the quality facilities (hot tub was my favourite!

but the food and beverage service (not food) was very poor.

We will see what this evening brings, more funny stories of poor service.

However service was also poor despite there not being many in the restaurant.

We had 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts, and on 3 of those 4 occasions, the service was poor.

but service poor especially at lunch time that is if you can get a table !!

Unfortunately our stay was spoiled by the poor service in the restaurant.

I did find the car park somewhat tight at times, More so with the bigger cars taking up more or less 2 spots, Or folk with poor parking abilities.

We had our evening meal and afternoon tea at the restaurant and thought both were poor.

The only negative was a lukewarm welcome and poor experience of booking table times.

We all tasted it (three-quarters was left untouched)  and all agreed it was very poor.

Very poor standard of customer service and interaction from Crerar Hotel staff and management.

So we checked in at 3pm, arrived in the room, clean (apart from red wine rim in the bathroom beside the bath) No soap in bathroom, very poor for what we paid for the room!

A poor deal of £20 - I had to pinch some of my husband's chips because I was still hungry.

This will simply encourage poor hygiene in reluctant hand washers with obvious health consequences for other guests.

The last few time I or Family have eaten in the golf view Conservatory the service has been poor and that being polite.

but order mixed up as new computers for waitresses but wi go too poor for them to work!

After the Spa facilities I received a massage from Fiona - she definitely has a gift,the best relaxing massage I ever had, it was angelic, I felt like a feather afterwards and had the best night sleep ever ❤ my sister in law had a pregnancy massage by Terri - we just can't thank Terri enough for reducing all the pains and ackes.

Lovely pool, steam rooms, jacuzzis inside and out, with incredible views, and the thermal experience was so relaxing too.

We are both in our 80’s and really 3njoyed relaxing in the lovely lounge with windows looking onto the sea.

The room was stunning, on entering classic FM was playing on the DAB radio which also added to the relaxation.

I had a mum to be massage by kasia and it was amazing, I felt so relaxed.

We feel so relaxed and will definitely be returning.

We had the most relaxing day before our wedding Sonata and Kasia done our treatments of ishga full body massages, facial and exfoliating scrub.

We particularly appreciated all the small things behind the scenes - requests to have windows open, seamless adjusting of drinks/canapes, a table and knife laid out for cake etc - all contributed to our party having a completely relaxed and memorable day.

though we live a short car journey away i've managed to convince my husband to book us in for a spa retreat which we are both looking forward too.

Would thoroughly recommend to any couples looking to enjoy a serene and relaxing romantic get-away.

We have full use of the spa facilities which were lovely and I had a fabulous full body massage which was so nice and relaxing.

We have just spent a weekend at Golf View Spa Hotel in Nairn, we've had a very peaceful and enjoyable weekend.

After dinner we then had drinks in the lounge, which again was so relaxing.

although they were in place there was till a very relaxed atmosphere.

we had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel, and we all thoroughly enjoyed both meals.

The food in the restaurant was very good for breakfast and dinner.

We stayed on a Spa summer special 2 night DBB rate which was unbelievable value for the spa treatment, meals, use of pool/thermal experience.

I wandered around all day in a lovely robe and had much lunch overlooking the garden and the Moray Firth.

It was lovely to try new things and different combinations of food together.

I had the sweet potato and carrot soup which was tasty followed by the breaded scampi and the profiteroles.

Rooms were roomy and well appointed and the food was top notch.

We had dinner in the restaurant ( despite we arrived late, we have been served), great food, reasonable prices and VERY GOOD wine list.

Lots of American tourists arrived and asked for information on the whiskeys and the staff hadn’t a clue .

We ate at the hotel on the Saturday night and all 3 of us had really nice meals.

We had dinner in the restaurant the first night and the food was amazing, we also had sandwiches in bar one afternoon too.

The food was excellent and I must also say the staff made us feel at home.

I have dined at the Golfview many times, which has always been a lovely experience in the spacious conservatory, and I’ve always wanted to stay, i was not disappointed.

The food was excellent - especially the hearty breakfast - and service was great.

The food was very nice complments to the chefs.

The Restaurant Manager was on hand and helpful.

The rooms are nice with attention to detail, bed comfortable and bathroom excellent.

Our room was beautifully decorated and we will be back to visit before too long!

The dinning room is now in the lovely conservatory which gives marvelous view over the sea across to the Black Isle.

Felt like we were stepping back in time with opulent bar and sun room dining areas.

Room with sea view was great, enough space, bath in excellent condition, very nice bed and matress.

We had a  great family room, which was cool and spacious.

The gentlemen on the reception desk provided a great welcome and subsequently phoned my room to check everything was correct.

The hotel had lovely views and the rooms while slightly dated were nice and the bathroom was good.

We made good use of the pool and spa ammenities, that had an excellent atmosphere and clean pools.

I had a fantastic 2 night Spa break at the end of July.

Had the most amazing full body massage with the lovely Christine this afternoon.

My wife is 7 months pregnant and thoroughly enjoyed the mum to be massage.

They have now added a steam room and a sauna.

Will get more treatments done in future, I fancy having a facial done next and a spa day soon!

My daughter got a massage from Patrica and in her words it was incredible.

You can enjoy the pool (specific times for kids only) or the spa for some pumpering.

the staff were friendly, inviting and super welcoming towards us.

The stay was faultless from beginning to end and the staff were so friendly and professional and all went the extra mile.

However, it was an interesting start… as a former hotel owner I always like to book direct as it saves the hotel the OTA fees.

The service was attentive and friendly and I am looking forward to my next visit to this lovely Scottish hotel that has had nearly a million pounds spent on it during its recent refurbishment.

Lovely Victorian hotel overlooking the sea (golf course is at the side).

We had a beautiful suite overlooking the Moray Firth.

A beautiful hotel in a stunning setting - only wish we could have stayed longer, would love to return.

Hotel is well situated and has lovely views.

Later I enjoyed the heated pool, like a huge warm bath, and the outdoor jacuzzi admiring the views over the moray firth.

The hotel also set in beautiful surroundings with fantastic views.

The view, from the restaurant, is fantastic and we even had a drink at the outdoor tables overlooking the beach.

Booked dinner bed and breakfast for husband's birthday and were happy with the setting, building and large room with bath and separate shower in ensuite.

Good breakfast each morning and the breakfast staff were very welcoming and helpful.

The sea bass was dry and bland, the breakfasts were also quite tasteless.

We had a great dinner in the restaurant (best lamb of the trip) and the Scottish breakfast was also good, served by a cheerful, chatty waitress.

The bar girl was terrific, good Scottich humour and breakfast was very good..

Breakfast was a separate charge and at £12.50, not bad value.

The lady at breakfast was very helpful and was always smiling

Staff were friendly and breakfast, (we had the full Scottish) was delicious, set us up for the day.

Dinner and breakfast were delicious with ample choices and the staff were all efficient and friendly.

Breakfast was pre ordered night before, which we didn't particularly like as you don't always feel it the next day and it's nice to have a choice on day.

There was a good selection at breakfast and the dinner tasted great (I had poached salmon whilst my partner chose the pork fillet).

We had an evening meal both nights because it was really reasonable and I must say it was delicious .

We were well looked after during our meal times at breakfast (buffet) and our served evening meals.

We needless to say went into town on Saturday for dinner and also a local cafe for breakfast on the Sunday.

Breakfasts and evening meals can’t be faulted all round very good.

Breakfast service was quick and efficient and the two elderly ladies serving were absolutely lovely.

Staff were excellent with a special mention for Suzanne at breakfast and Callum in the Chaplin restaurant, thank you for looking after us so well.

The restaurant offers  a good selection for evening meals and a great breakfast to set you up for the day.

Carpet in dining room at breakfast still had the crumbs and bits of food on it from the previous nights dinner sitting.

Carpet worn, bathroom old (shower curtain?

I understand that if somebody spills something you may not be able to replace a carpet

Upon entering the room, we were greeted with a very stale smell, large stains on the carpet, very tired furniture, dated bathroom with some grouting issues and cracked floor tiles.

Only thing that could have been improved upon was the old carpets that were lying on the grass at the back, I assume some rooms must have had new carpeting during lockdown this was what we were looking out to from out family room and the open bottle skip was just below our window.

The room smelled of old carpets and desperately needed an overhaul.

· The front of the building was impressive, shame that when you stepped inside the carpet was grubby.

I noticed that the carpet felt a bit odd underfoot, and there was in fact a hole in the pile down to the hessian backing.

The carpet in the bedroom was also worn and torn in one area.

The carpets in the public areas were pretty dirty and were not cleaned during our stay.

Not really an issue because I had also set alarm on mobile phone,
Maintenance issues - Some frayed fabric in curtails and carpets, the latter particularly on staircases, moss on wooden window frames, condensation in double glazing in conservatory restaurant.

As another reviewer mentioned, the only negative thing I would have to say is that the carpets were a little worn.

The only negative would be that carpets in the room and breakfast room needed some tender loving care.

We selected a courtyard room, and while the furnishings were dated and the carpet needs to be replaced, the huge bed was awesome and the bath was updated with great hot water and water pressure in shower.

The hotel could do with a bit of a refurb in areas, such as our room which had a few marks on the walls and carpets.

One thing we noticed was that the carpet was very threadbare as was the next door room,pointed out by its occupants.

There was a faint odour of dampness in the very well appointed bathroom and the carpet had traces of previous stains as did some of the chairs.

The only tell tale signs of its need of TLC was some wear on the carpet and signs of repairs to the tiling in the bathroom.

The carpet that han been fitted was a trip hazard the decor looked tired and dated and the shower took forever to warm up with very little pressure, although we complained we did get another room

Lovely food, friendly staff and good service.

With the exception of the first person we met everyone has been kind, personable, and above all friendly.

We checked in at 2 and were greeted by a friendly reception staff.

First impression of hotel was friendly, warm and inviting.

Very clean ,warm ,friendly .The rooms were lovely .

Friendly staff, our room was big and had all the creature comforts.
