Very impressive 

we had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel, and we all thoroughly enjoyed both meals.

The food in the restaurant was very good for breakfast and dinner.

I had booked lunch for a family group of five of us for the most delicious meal in beautiful surroundings overlooking the sea shore of the Moray Firth.

Breakfast served personnaly, very good quality and Scotish one!

We had both dinner and breakfast during our stay.

The food was excellent - especially the hearty breakfast - and service was great.

You can't sit in the bar / conservatory area once the evening meal have been served as they are "setting the breakfast table" ( a napkin knife and fork)

Don't try and shift the regimented breakfast time by 15 minutes as this seems to blow their minds.

We stayed ourselves for a couple of nights afterwards - we agree wholeheartedly with the review below, the breakfasts are exquisite!

I would definitely recommend the breakfast menu as most options are exquisite.

but still plenty to choose from, and breakfast was delicious each morning with endless tea and coffee.

It was lovely to have egg benedict on the menu ( my favourite) and the poached eggs were perfect.

The Breakfast and dinners absolutely superb.

but the Golf View had plenty of choices for us and the food was delicious!

but they seated us in a room with warm air conditioning for breakfast which was very welcome.

Our junior suite room was spotlessly clean and the food in the restaurant was of an excellent standard - both at dinner and breakfast.

We had Dinner one night and 2 very good breakfasts.

I need not have worried, from the moment we parked up (then charged the electric car very handily in the car park) and walked through the front doors we knew we had chosen well.

All these things have made me wonder if families are actually not really wanted here which is a shame as loved the setting, area , the walls the views and the staff were manly lovely - was grateful fir the barman who informed me of the £7.50 room service charge for 2 glasses of  bedtime milk for the kids ( no fridge in room)so I could go down 1 flight of stairs and get it myself and leave a tip!

The bill, when it came (after asking) contained the “optional” service charge which, had we noticed at the time, we would have asked to be removed.

We were charged for the full bottle of wine

If the service had been unacceptable, I would have needed to ask for the charge to be removed, to the embarrassment of the waiter and to me.

Please also note they charge for the coffee served with the breakfast and without even asking for consent add 10% “optional “ service charge to all food and drinks.

With the service we received I don’t think the optional service charge should not have been added.

We were not charged for this as we returned them.

But only charged for one of the mornings drinks not both, which doesn’t really make sense?

Wine charged at £20 makes us wonder if a glass of wine was £10, given we had two glasses-

If that wasn't enough, we were charged £25 each for this experience.

We were then charged for our sweets which hadn't been mentioned before ordering and they were not cheap or worth the money.

Didn't see one person in charge at breakfast, a couple of minor things cropped up

Some 75 minutes later, after waiting for a obnoxious duty manager to say to us that she can't authorise a refund and we can't get it just now as there is a problem with the card machines within the hotel.

I thought the charge for soak-off rather high.

When I checked the bill we had been overcharged by nearly £20 as the kids meals were charged as component parts in addition to the fixed price.

And the bill was wrong (we’d been charged again for the pre-paid spa treatments).

Double check and can see directly, I’ve been charged for the room, which I’ve paid already in advance, so he took it off.

We were charged £15 each for this and £2.80 for a small glass of coke.

We were asked for our desert order 3 times and had 2 desserts charged after only ordering one.

The Spa facilities were far beyond my expectations- the himalayian salt room, the experience shower,the spectacular stone bath room 👌 I travel all around the world and I had never ever had such an amazing experience.

It’s a shame as the staff have not been trained enough to use the booking system and could have saved the OTA fees… I know staff resources are precious at the moment so I empathise …setting this aside it’s a lovely hotel in an idyllic location the facilities are great and we will certainly go back.

Linzi the Spa receptionist  is very professional, and an asset to her team and the facilities were very clean.

It’s a pity we live quite far away otherwise we would be there each day to use the fantastic swimming pool and spa facilities as well as treating ourselves to a lovely hospitality on offer.

I STRONGLY advice people to enjoy this hotel, enjoy the pool facilities.

Amazing spa facilities with fantastic views from the hot tub.

We both enjoyed the spa treatments and where amazed by the spa facilities everything was very clean, and the pool temperature was prefect.

We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea and dinner, the sea feature room was marvellous, we greatly enjoyed the newly refurbished spa facilities and we loved our congratulations slate of treats in the room!

We had an absolutely wonderful time, thanks in part to the beautiful location, excellent hotel facilities and superb service from the friendly staff.

The swimming pool and hot tub were a welcoming haven after our long walks.

The restaurant need to improve to remain in line with the rest of the hotel and facilities.

The rooms are excellent, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and equipped with everything that you need.

On arrival greeted by thoroughly professional reception host in Megan who explained the various facets of the hotel and facilities with details of the necessary Covid enforced restrictions - naturally beyond everyone's control

We really enjoyed our stay and the use of the Spa facilities.

We were able to make use of the leisure facilities with little or no restrictions which was great and very relaxing.

They were happy to show us round the hotel, and the swimming pool and spa area.

The tennis courts are wonderful and an excellent facility as well.

The spa and pool plus lots of extras such as relaxation areas, steam room/sauna/hot tubs were all immaculately clean and the decor and ambience was so relaxing and more than comparable to a 5 star spa.

We loved the pool / hot tub / tennis courts too.

The outside hot tub remains one of our favourite spots.

Spa still has bit of work going on, pool good and outdoor hot tub over looking sea and snowy mountains is a great setting.

The outdoor hot tub whilst watching the sea crash onto the beach is delightful.

From the victorian decor to an outdoor hot tub it's a perfect retreat.. 
On entering the perfectly appointed bed room ( the 1930s radio was on) 
The personalised headline page provided much needed information pertinent to your vist was a nice touch.

We absolutely adored the outdoor hot tub and got good use of this.

Social distance was maintained in all parts of hotel.. We really enjoyed the facilities such as hot tub would have loved a glass of wine

The hot tub outside is a must looking over to the Black Isle on a morning after a lovely swim.

We then returned to the hot tub and pool before getting changed and going for food ( included ) in the restaurant, affording fabulous views.

The pool is really warm which is a rare treat with the addition of a roasting hotjacuzzi and an outdoor hot tub.

The pool, outside hot tub and sauna were very much  appreciated.

The hot tub and pool facilities were great, as were the staff - very helpful.

but having spa is good to pass the day,hot tub fantastic.

The spa facilities are also incredible, pool, sauna, steam room, outdoor hot tub take your pick, with some truly breathtaking scenery to enjoy at the same time.

We enjoyed the quality facilities (hot tub was my favourite!

but the food and beverage service (not food) was very poor.

We will see what this evening brings, more funny stories of poor service.

However service was also poor despite there not being many in the restaurant.

We had 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts, and on 3 of those 4 occasions, the service was poor.

but service poor especially at lunch time that is if you can get a table !!

Unfortunately our stay was spoiled by the poor service in the restaurant.

I did find the car park somewhat tight at times, More so with the bigger cars taking up more or less 2 spots, Or folk with poor parking abilities.

We had our evening meal and afternoon tea at the restaurant and thought both were poor.

The only negative was a lukewarm welcome and poor experience of booking table times.

We all tasted it (three-quarters was left untouched)  and all agreed it was very poor.

Very poor standard of customer service and interaction from Crerar Hotel staff and management.

So we checked in at 3pm, arrived in the room, clean (apart from red wine rim in the bathroom beside the bath) No soap in bathroom, very poor for what we paid for the room!

A poor deal of £20 - I had to pinch some of my husband's chips because I was still hungry.

This will simply encourage poor hygiene in reluctant hand washers with obvious health consequences for other guests.

The last few time I or Family have eaten in the golf view Conservatory the service has been poor and that being polite.

but order mixed up as new computers for waitresses but wi go too poor for them to work!

After the Spa facilities I received a massage from Fiona - she definitely has a gift,the best relaxing massage I ever had, it was angelic, I felt like a feather afterwards and had the best night sleep ever ❤ my sister in law had a pregnancy massage by Terri - we just can't thank Terri enough for reducing all the pains and ackes.

Lovely pool, steam rooms, jacuzzis inside and out, with incredible views, and the thermal experience was so relaxing too.

We are both in our 80’s and really 3njoyed relaxing in the lovely lounge with windows looking onto the sea.

The room was stunning, on entering classic FM was playing on the DAB radio which also added to the relaxation.

I had a mum to be massage by kasia and it was amazing, I felt so relaxed.

We feel so relaxed and will definitely be returning.

We had the most relaxing day before our wedding Sonata and Kasia done our treatments of ishga full body massages, facial and exfoliating scrub.

We particularly appreciated all the small things behind the scenes - requests to have windows open, seamless adjusting of drinks/canapes, a table and knife laid out for cake etc - all contributed to our party having a completely relaxed and memorable day.

though we live a short car journey away i've managed to convince my husband to book us in for a spa retreat which we are both looking forward too.

Would thoroughly recommend to any couples looking to enjoy a serene and relaxing romantic get-away.

A peaceful way to end a day, wine included.

We have full use of the spa facilities which were lovely and I had a fabulous full body massage which was so nice and relaxing.

We have just spent a weekend at Golf View Spa Hotel in Nairn, we've had a very peaceful and enjoyable weekend.

After dinner we then had drinks in the lounge, which again was so relaxing.

although they were in place there was till a very relaxed atmosphere.

Ideal location for access to the beach with a lovely walk.

The Hotel has its own private path direct to the beach promenade below, and whilst you will encounter better beaches, this was perfect for a morning walk before breakfast, and for those brave enough, suitable for swimming.

We slept with the window open and listened to the waves hitting the shore.

Fabulous position in a gem of a little coastal town.

Gorgeous gardens surrounded the hotel with a hammock, putting green and short path leading directly to the beach.

Lovely room looking out over the Moray Firth … a short 1 minute walk to get to the beach.

It's a perfect place to stay for exploring the north coast as it's right in the middle of the beautiful coastline with both John O'Groats and Dunnottar Castle (South of Aberdeen) within easy day trips and plenty of marine life to be seen along the coastline.

Nice to use the path from the garden to the beach.

Stunning view from the Bay window and big comfy chairs to watch for the dolphins, whilst sipping a glass of wine or two and yes we got to see the dolphins which was an added bonus.

The gardens are superb and the added extra of being able to have your own private walkway to the beach was divine in the mornings when embarking on a fulfilled day in the centre of Nairn which is literally a 10 minute walk away.

It is a clean, spacious hotel with easy access to the beach and the town, with beautiful views.

Hotel has its own path to the lovely beach , has lovely grounds and outdoor seating and a very comfortable cosy bar.

The beach is down a little pathway in the garden through a private gate and it’s stunning.

but nothing caused a problem.The location including garden with seating and logburner and path to beach were great (we saw a dolphin in the water at the bottom of the garden!!!

Breakfast had everything you need 

The short one minute private path to the beach is ideal and the honesty bar is a perfect place to relax in the evenings.

We have stayed in the hotel and last visit in the stables apartment  which has its own pathway to the beach.

Our Family Gathering was such a huge success  partly due to the wonderful setting in the beautiful gardens and the friendly atmosphere 
And I forgot to say how great it was to walk down the little path straight to the promenade and beach !

We enjoyed a lovely day on the beach and a wonderful picnic basket in the summer hut in the evening.

Nice big shower and plenty of toiletries and fluffy towels.

Lovely renovation of a house with a fascinating history, combined with huge rooms and comfortable beds, made it a stay to remember.A large garden, and a private path to the beach made the outside as appealing as the inside.Breakfast was great and everyone was so helpful and friendly.

Our room was spacious, clean, had the comfiest (four poster) bed, with beautiful views of the Moray Firth.

We were warmly  greeted by Ben the Assistant Manger and shown to our stunning room complete with 4 poster bed, jacuzzi bath and views over the gardens and the firth.

After a brisk swim in the sea we came back to a lovely room with splendid sea view and settled in to a comfortable night's stay in four poster bed whilst the children slept in adjoining twin room

Can see the attention to detail the owners have out into the place the passion they have for making guests stay a pleasant one

Highly recommend and regret not booking for longer.

We were joking about my snoring and my wife going demented over it, Camilla gave us a free upgrade to the Fort George suite so she could sleep in the adjoining twin room and close the connecting door, Peace at last she says :) What a touch from Camilla.

We stayed in "Firthside",one of the rooms with four poster bed, jacuzzi bath and sea view.

Lovely ambience, great breakfasts, super comfy 4-poster bed, honesty bar & great hosts in Camilla & Ryan.

Room was very spacious with a large four poster bed.

We booked the Firthside on the ground floor, and it was like something out of a movie: spacious room, gorgeous four-poster bed that was sinfully comfortable, incredible garden and sea view, a huge modern bathroom with a deliciously deep whirlpool tub, etc.

Very modern and comfortable with a great shower room and a separate sleeping area with bunk beds for our kids.

and my husband and I had a very comfy 4 poster bed with a perfect view of the ocean.

The grounds are lovely, the view of the Moray Firth is magical, the rooms are tastefully decorated with super comfortable beds.

Although our host told us our room was small, we thought it was a perfectly acceptable size; it was beautiful with a very comfortable bed and luxurious bathroom; everything was spotless.

My generously sized room has stunning views over the Moray Firth, a really comfortable four poster bed, and a very indulgent bathroom.

but it was a lovely atmosphere in the breakfast dining area.

Plus a great bar and really good breakfast.

Housekeeping did a very nice job, as did the kitchen staff with breakfast.

Self service breakfast with wide choice ( the chef’s fried eggs were also perfect!).

Staff are exceptionally helpful and very industrious, breakfast was hot buffet self service.

I requested an early breakfast due to attending a course and this was immediately organised .

but everything here was delicious - omg the eggs!!

Beautiful views across the Moray and exceptional rooms and breakfast.

The  scrambled egg was tasty and not overcooked.

Breakfast was delicious in a gorgeous dining room with a relaxed atmosphere.

Ryan worked hard on check in, breakfast and check out and gave us good advice on our next destination of The Orkneys!

The buffet style breakfast was fabulous and the staff were all so welcoming and helpful.

A fantastic hotel, staff were very friendly, the hotel is spotless and the location is perfect, breakfast was very good , the gardens overlook the sea with a secret path that leDs down to the watersedge, we will return.

Breakfast was served in a beautiful room again with sea views.

The bar (and the honestly bar is a great idea) is cosy yet grand, the breakfast room elegant, both with views over the lovely gardens and onwards to the sea.

In this day and age its a necessity/essential to have a heated towel radiator, as otherwise you have to deal with damp towels in the morning, and the toilet and bathroom door were a bit low spec for this end of the market.

but out of a heated tray is not the same.

The breakfast was disappointing: it was a buffet with the eggs and hot food in heated servers, cereal in small boxes and packs, and, overall, a bit too commercial.

but in poor weather a car would be needed to go to local restaurants.

Totally put Scotlands sometime poor reputation for customer service out the window.

A few niggles;  nothing major - was the single room was rather small and as the lounge closed at 8.30 pm and the tv reception in my room was poor which is to be expected being near the sea, I had no option

however made up for the poor breakfast and average room.

but it wasn't until we arrived there was a notice on the bar door, that it was closed due to flood damage which I think is a pretty poor show considering the bar is advertised and that is one of the many reasons we booked this beautiful hotel.

Our room, Black Isle had a wonderful sea view.

We had probably the best room in the hotel with an awesome view from the 1st floor bedroom over the Moray Firth.

We were upgraded to a much larger room with wonderful views over the Firth.

So, to the place itself - it's been beautifully renovated, we had the huge downstairs room with stunning sea views that were hard to pull away from. The honesty bar is a lovely wooden panelled room with comfortable leather seating and an open fire that makes you feel like you have stepped back into another era (in a very good way!)

Covid measures were in place to ensure the dining room was never overcrowded and hand sanitiser available for guests to use (throughoutthe hotel)

The rooms were immaculate surrounded by the sound of the waves and the honesty bar was such a treat and a charming way to relax with other guests.

Bonus point for having a decent hairdryer in the room.

Our room was enormous and the shower room was modern and extremely clean.

There was a coffee maker (& tea/ hot chocolate etc) in the corridor that made good coffee ( better than when you make it in your room with uht milk and sachets).

When booking there was only 1 double room available which was small

Only downside was the room I had was on the small side

The only negative to the lovely room is that it is quite small, 2 suitcases are up on tables since there is no room for a luggage rack.

The room was quite small and, coupled with the size of the bed, made for a rather cramped seating arrangement of two chairs.

Booked dinner bed and breakfast for husband's birthday and were happy with the setting, building and large room with bath and separate shower in ensuite.

Good breakfast each morning and the breakfast staff were very welcoming and helpful.

The sea bass was dry and bland, the breakfasts were also quite tasteless.

We had a great dinner in the restaurant (best lamb of the trip) and the Scottish breakfast was also good, served by a cheerful, chatty waitress.

The bar girl was terrific, good Scottich humour and breakfast was very good..

Breakfast was a separate charge and at £12.50, not bad value.

The lady at breakfast was very helpful and was always smiling

Staff were friendly and breakfast, (we had the full Scottish) was delicious, set us up for the day.

Dinner and breakfast were delicious with ample choices and the staff were all efficient and friendly.

Breakfast was pre ordered night before, which we didn't particularly like as you don't always feel it the next day and it's nice to have a choice on day.

There was a good selection at breakfast and the dinner tasted great (I had poached salmon whilst my partner chose the pork fillet).
