The buffet breakfast was excellent and a nice addition.

This was an old fave hotel for me in Melbourne, convenient to public transport, nice rooms and a great breakfast buffet.

We had a good sleep bed's good ☺️but not quality cleaning,a lot of dust around the room, fridge wasn't working to standard,and a lot of cobwebs on the balcony around window, apart' from this, manager was nice to give late check out and complimentary breakfast, and we were charged for water that we didn't use 😪

Room service has a decent menu and the buffet breakfast had great variety.

The bed was very comfortable and the buffet breakfast was great value the next morning.

The hotel offers good value, with an excellent breakfast.

The breakfast buffet had plenty to select from and the DIY juicer was something we enjoyed.

The staff at breakfast were welcoming and ensured food was kept replenished for those breakfasting.

The breakfast and Hop Garden were great local areas for food and drink of high quality.

Breakfast in the morning offered cereals etc and hot food also, which was nice.

The buffet breakfast was amazing, the food was above my expectations for a buffet.

We had a wide selection of breakfast places, food & drink options that were a few tram stops away.

Everything is old and worn out including carpets, rooms, bathrooms, facilities, lifts and carpark.

Unfortunately on arrival issues with lift from basement carpark that required us to walk up the car ramp with our luggage.

Room also located right next to the elevator was very noisy as there was no soundproofing.

Unfortunately my husband was stuck in the lift for an hour.

Lift was broken causing a school of girls to be slamming the stairs doors right through the night, right outside our corner room, this caused me and my partner 4 sleepless nights despite asking to be moved.

One lift is out of service so there is only one lift for the entire hotel.

Unfortunately for us the lifts were not functioning or patchy during our stay and we had to use stairs  several times.

Only one lift operating in a 9 floor hotel, extreme bad experience at check-out where the staff billed wrong cards and put multiple rooms to my card (charged SEK 43,000 instead of SEK 8,500!!

Only one working lift which meant a lot of time spent waiting and apparently no stairs to use (I asked reception).

The hotel has 1 operating elevator which takes a very long time to catch, especially at peak times, like check in.

One of the negative points was that only one lift was working for the 9 floor hotel which meant you either wait long time or use the stairs.

If you like standing waiting for the lift to come with a group of people you don't know,

When I checked in the lady didn't even let me know what floor my room was on, nor where the elevator was.

She only answer: that elevator is moody. Seriously!?

it's actually an insult to my intelligence in saying so, would I stay again , NO they would need to lift their game and fix these current issues, as Melb is a Hotel Mecca and I can just go elsewhere.

The changes in the hotel are really starting to take shape from our previous stay the lifts are such an improvement.

Lastly, my sink area remained disgusting.

Hotel rooms smelt of cigarettes, I also found an acrylic nail next to the phone and everything was dusty.

The damaged iron in the room burned my new trousers.

however nothing a little bleach couldn’t and didn’t fix.

but next to a fire escape that stank of cigarette smoke.

Dirty spa very dirty spa, brown frothy foam on top, strong chemical that it was burning eyes without being in water and rubbish everywhere.

Bed sheets and towels need a better wash, they smell really bad and made me feel uncomfortable

The fridge was filthy and stained had smearson the inside.

but unfortunately it was in a filthy state with a discarded ice cream punnet on the ground, and ice cream splattered on the glass doors between the room and the balcony.

I can’t believe they get people to smoke by the hotel entry.

We notified reception that someone was smoking in a room near ours,

we dont like people smoking outside the restaurants .

To double check this I thought I would have a smell of it, much to my horror I confirmed it was in fact poo.

There was Hoya slightly strange smell in the room, which was a bit unpleasant.

The only negatives - one of our friends room had an unpleasant smell (wet carpet type smell) and due to hotel being fully booked there was no option to move rooms.

My only complain , pillows are very flat and smelly.

Breakfast was excellent, a really good selection of hot and cold foods.

Breakfast was overall good, some hot food was cold, coffees nice, omelettes, etc.

The breakfast was ample and good quality.

On the positive side, the daily breakfast was very good, and so was the pool.

Rooms were spacious and well equipped and the buffet breakfast offered great choices for everyone.

Chef cooked our eggs and omelettes exactly as we like - perfect!

Breakfast in Windows was more than satisfactory and provided a good range of options.

Special thanks to Rekio in handing out our breakfast meals with a smilie everyday, He was very friendly and polite.

A shout out to Emily in the breakfast and Bar area for her friendly service and first class hospitality to us on our stay.

As we left breakfast, not even a goodbye/thank you/have a nice day, nothing.

At under $150 per night, Platinum members receive access to the Executive lounge and very acceptable breakfast which makes it one of the best value offerings in Melbourne.

Staff couldn't be more helpful, exec lounge food was good, and the full buffet breakfast was amazing.

My then partner, an avid F 1 fan, had paid a premium rate and we were unhappy with the service and the room.

The usual massive hi,e in prices was a bit of an issue,

I only drink New Zealand wine, cost was $17.00 for 150ml glass and $70.00 a bottle, I bought 3 bottles of decent NZ wine at the local urban supermarket for $54.00

For the price we paid I was disappointed ☹️

4) was told that buffet breakfast is $25 and was charged $38.

Use of car park not explained properly as 20 dollar fee for one use only caused time concerns.

The Club was closed for a few days (cost cutting) & we were directed to the hotel bar for our first confrontation; we managed to get drinks & "a bar snack" each then went out for a meal.

I wonder if everyone else from the corporate games had to pay extra.

Paid Parking is available. Car can be parked on street as well for limited timings (See the Timings and follow the signs.)

Restaurant has a limited and boaring menu, it is also overpriced.

It was not until we got there that we found that it came at a cost of $20 - discounted from the casual rate

Price seemed pretty standard (I.e not cheap).

We also had a bed and breakfast package only to be told at breakfast that "No you don't ma'am, the cost will be $$$" so I had to once again go back to reception, which was already getting busy before checkout, to be told the same from the receptionist.

(We are from Qld so didn't realise this)   The room rate was high and the experience  certainly didn't reflect the price.

Paid for club lounge access which was a bit of a let down compared to other hotel lounge access I have experienced.

You can probably get something nicer closer to the CBD - and for the same price.

Ridiculously overpriced car parking at $32 per day.

I’m an Accor Gold, and paid for one the most expensive rooms, only to get a SINGLE BED AGAINST THE WALL!

Called reception for assistance with internet connection being not available and after called back 20 minutes later and told could not offer assistance until following morning.

but the 'smart tv' wasn't connected to the internet and the walls were paper thin.

4) wifi in the room was terrible, I had to connect to my mobile device hotspot.

Wi-Fi of this hotel is strong, supports 3 devices and does not disconnect in corridors or meeting rooms.

No free WiFi which is always disappointing.

After expressing our frustration they decided to deduct the wifi fee

Internet super slow for basic work needs.

Rhett Constantine, the Chief Concierge, resolved the wi-fi issues I was having and put up with multiple requests for assistance in the true spirit of "Hospitality".

I had the same experience with the reception on a few other occasions when I had to ask for information and also trying to reach them on the phone for internet information.

It was also disappointing that the hotel did not offer free wifi service

The most frustrating part of my stay was the non-existent WiFi.

I did have to ask about the wi fi, where and when was breakfast and later returned to ask for a receipt for my credit card charge on arrival.

but again Australia iss very poor at providing good fast & free internet to hotel guests.

No free internet was a bit of a drag and the TV channels didn't all work all of the time which was mildly annoying

There was no internet service in the room for all 5 nights - down all the time and when I asked for help, I basically was ignored.

Only complaint I would say is that Wifi was poor despite purchasing the recommended package (fastest speed).

We also dined in the restaurant for breakfast which was superb.

We had breakfast there; it was sumptuous and a great way to start the day.

My husband says the Eggs Benedict are the best he has ever had, breakfast was excellent.

good breakfast room .staff were really nice.

Staff very friendly and helpful, we were very lucky to have a 1 bed king apartment with lovely and private outdoor garden sitting area to enjoy the room service breakfast.

Breakfast was delicious and our room was very comfortable.

The breakfast selection is more than adequate and once again, the gem is with the staff.

The staff went above and beyond, beautiful clean facilities and a fantastic yummy breakfast each morning.

They were also efficient in answering the phone (on the first ring) and the eggs benedict breakfast was simply delicious.

The rooms are very spacious and the breakfast at the brassiere was absolutely first class as were the staff.

Breakfast delicious with help yourself buffet and a menu to select from.

I booked a room with breakfast included,  the breakfast room was very pleasant and it was nice to be able to order from the a la carte menu and it was included.

Breakfast was just delicious with staff there also most obliging.

Next morning breakfast was served in the hotel's restaurant and it did not disappoint.

The breakfast was very good and the bar was lovely where we had a cocktail before heading out for dinner that night.

I come to the Como for its bath tub and croissants they serve at breakfast!

They upgraded me to a suite at no charge with free breakfast!

After checking out and reviewing my hotel bill found I had been charged for breakfast of $70, I find it incredible that hotels make this mistake so often, if you haven't signed a restaurant bill how does it end up on your bill?

The only part of the stay which is very  annoying is we were debited twice from our account for the stay which still hasn’t been resolved
This has never occurred previously 
I have made at least three calls to the hotel
Contacted the bank twice 
Then another department as now it seems to be a dispute 
Absolutely disgraceful

I was charged $17.50 on my minibar for no reason.

There was also a bottle of sparkling water, some chocolates and some fruit - with a greeting card addressed to someone else (Sorry Mr Ryan I think I got your room!!)!!

I refused to provide my debit card as it took forever for the money to go back in my account after checking out!

It is not OK to put through charges without authorisation or notification. .

On check-out the next morning, I was charged the cash rate for the room, despite having booked with points.

I find it incredible in this day and age that a hotel charges a significant fee ($AUD 26 per day) for Wi-Fi.

The city is a short taxi ride away and on balance, if I ever visit again, I'd probably stay in a more central location, we likened South Yarra to Chelsea in London, it's too expensive and there's not really much there other than restaurants and boutiques.

however on checking out we were charged for items we did not use from the minibar.

At this price, wifi should be included in the room charge and in 2017 there's no excuse for a poor internet connection in a city like Melbourne.

The bar is a bit small and it's a shame that with an advantage plus card there isn't the option of a cheaper lunch or dinner.

However, I was surprised to find that there were no power points anywhere near the beds so one has to keep getting up to answer one's mobile whilst it was being charged well away from the bed.

Otherwise there will be a surcharge for wifi

To my surprise there were balloons and a birthday card on the bed.

Waiting for 1 hour before anyone was serving in the bar in the middle of the afternoon was frustrating and then getting charged for breakfast when it was in my room rate was not unexpected.

My only complaint was having to pay 1.5% extra because I was paying with a credit card.

My one gripe (and the Como is not alone on this), is the dreadful Australian practice of charging - and charging outrageously - for wifi.

I had a great night sleep and breakfast was first class.

The hotel's breakfast offerings were also delicious and healthy.

Great restaurants nearby and good in-house restaurant for breakfast, coffee and afternoon drinks.

The easter egg surprise in our room was a lovely touch, Parking very expensive for the stay.

✨️ Today we had another swim after our hotel breakfast at the Spoonbill, set off on the train to see the Myer Windows and went on a Melbourne walking Chocoholic Tours.

Food sat waiting on counter warmer ( toast) for 15 minutes while they prepared other breakfast meals from our group.

The room had 2 king beds and it had half a kitchen so we could walk across the road to Cole’s have a bite to eat prior to the game then in the morning a fabulous breakfast in the restaurant.

Bleary eyed we went down for breakfast and did enjoy the food which was a rare positive.

We had a lovely walk to Como house and gardens and another nice walk down Chapel Street to the delicious chinese restaurant at The Cullen hotel.

Rooms clean and tidy, breakfast was good.

It’s his favourite breakfast and he rated it 10/10.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff to accommodate us inc at breakfast.

My colleagues and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast in Spoonbills, where the service was friendly and attentive.

The breakfast was delicious and hot just the way I like it , being a public holiday the restaurant was extremely busy and there was a wait

My check in was terrible - not informed re the services in the hotel, about the need to insert power card, had to ask for my free drink voucher.

Then 1 hr later one invoice for food, then had to chase for accomodation.

I also had my alarm turn off and not wake me nor charge my phone.

My card was also charged $100 as a guarantee.

but when you are charging a six star price with a CBD view that is advertised but non existent, it all adds up.

They required physical sighting of credit cards despite being offered them on our smartphone and our booking service (Booking.com had all our details including the credit card for the booking).

It appears to me that whoever is in charge, has completely given up, and the hotel, is just existing.

Upon arrival, I showed my card and was told that I would not get an upgrade and my points would not be counted in a very stiff manner,

Also nowhere to charge a phone - it’s 2021 there really is no reason not to have a USB port.

The price on the website was $20.00 less than the actual charge which was $20.00 more.

With the exception of the food and beverage staff, the balance of the staff have the worst attitude of any hotel that i stayed at.

Clients I was with were double charged for dinner, and it was only astuteness that saved the day.

Was not very impressed when I stayed at Olsen firstly the stuffed our booking up and charged us double somehow on 2 different cards then had checked us in before we were even there, the room

Only negative was the swipe card for room deactivated twice.

Instead I was charged a further $50 from the rental company who had to provide my details to the council for the notice to be sent to me, followed by needing to pay the infringement notice.

Be aware that any "extras" on menu had to be paid for outside the package ( a little frustrating on second boring that despite only using one of the two person breakfast packages, an additional charge for extras on one meal still had to be paid!

I was double charged and I’m currently trying to recover my money as it’s theft , I had no towels in my room and the sheets where smelly and I got a rash , I waited 45 for my orange juice at your cafe so I canceled it and went to work !

Took 4 phone calls to get my invoice emailed to me after my stay.

I didn't expect anything opulent for the price I paid

Didn't rate the guys, was too small and poky.

Paid about $30 more a night than if I had booked on the day.

The general conditions of the room can be better, given the price.

but overpriced and lacks parking options on a busy part of Melbourne.

but sadly we felt it was overpriced and went elsewhere.

No refund or better deal considering we didnt get what we paid for.

The mattresses were very old and the pillows very bad I had to go and buy new pillows if I had known I would have bought mine from home another added expense I did not need.

The Como across the road is much better value - slightly less expensive

In fact no parking fee was mentioned at all when they gave us our card to access the parking garage.

For the price of the hotel this is really not good enough.

The hotel does not trust the guest to pay for any room charges they may incur from the mini bar or other food and beverage charges. 2,.
