I do recommend this resort hotel

The hotel is in a small area, so there is only a small beach garden, two pools and a few other activities outside.

The beach is the cream of the hotel, where everyone is seen during all hours of the day.

We also got to play volleyball by the beach and observed there were fun activities for kids as well.

Great place, right on the beach and amongst all the best waves.

We also joined surf lessons at the beach surf camp nearby and delighted by Sajith yogas class at the hotel.

Marissa beach is another beautiful place that you must go. .

You can walk in the beach and even take a swim as waves are not rough.

While I don't believe that this is a reflection on the hotel, I would desribe the beach as good

The resort has been blessed with a breathtaking beach, which I'm happy to say they've kept in pristine condition.

The beach was clean and lively - we enjoyed a long stroll along the beach every afternoon.

A location is also good - clean beach, not very big waves so you can swim as well as trying surfing (we are beginners).

The Staff at the beach and at the pool was always very helpful.

Hotel is perched on the beach with an amazing view to our room.

We went for walks on the beach every day morning and evening, enjoyed watching the surfers from the beach and from our balcony, and relaxed by the pools while enjoying the beach views.

This is the best hotel on the south coast in Sri Lanka.

My two kids were spoiled by sending the foods they love.

The kids club was really great.

We travelled in a big group - my mother left behind her credit cards and ID cards - and the hotel immediately called us and informed when they found it - we really appreciated the honesty and integrity of the staff

Kids also enjoyed the games room - 2 table tennis, 2 babyfoot and more

So we were able to have a peaceful swim and play with our son as well.

We loved the pool and our 4 year old son loved the water slide.

We enjoyed the stay and kids loved the place too

Pool was very clean & they have a kids pool with a slide which is safe & nice.

We were looked after very well and it made it a very enjoyable time with our little boy.

My kids have learned to surf, with perfect waves for learner’s.

A particular mention to Tharindu, our room keeper, and to Dilshan, the restaurant manager who really took care of our kids needs.

We traveled as a family (2 adults & 2 children [5 &7 yrs]) to Weligama to relax and learn surfing.

They also have a kids club (we did not try

- Electricity backup which meant we had air conditioning - a big thing currently with the state of Sri Lanka
- Lots of activities for children and adults - table tennis, foosball, pool, beach access etc
- All guests were treated well - no discrimination which was a refreshing change!

The children also dive bomb into the pool and jump splashing guests around the pool.

The one with specs is my favourite and also there was anothercute little girl as well.

Kids area and the  three swimming pools were delighted my son.

There are plenty of activities for kids and teens, with kids club, pools and a wonderful beach that is ideal for swimming and surfing.

The facilities offered by a hotel are futile if the service is poor, and we felt Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa ticked both boxes (especially due to Sanjeeva's efforts

Even the day before our arrival our rooms were confirmed by a staff named Imbrani to our agent and didn’t honour on the day.That’s what I call poor customer service and in fact deceiving the customer.

Please look in to service quality as you will loose customers due to poor service

Welcome drink was a poor version of an iced tea.

After being cooped up the whole day in our room on our last day as we had to cancel the pool plan due to: the poor weather, poor pool hygiene and sun shade collapsing incident we ordered lunch and the prawn salad portion was tiny (smaller than a kids size portion).

Services of kids club staff are very poor.

Due to the poor management, we had to come to lunch on slots (12.30 to 2.00, 2.00 to 3.30)

My children who can’t eat much spicy food had a very poor tasting pasta and mashed potato.

but the service we got was so poor we had little faith - simple things like emailing us back, giving us basic information over the phone just absolutely nothing to make us think this hotel will care about our wedding - until we spoke to sheine at the Marriott.

Hotels like charging us in pounds or dollars because they offer poor currency rates, inspite of me insisting i want to transact in lankan rupees.

In my country there is some words and I think my poor translation will not picture entire meaning

The exchange rate is very poor when you pay this way with the credit card.

The mattress was definitely of poor quality.

After a sour experience checking into the hotel due to delays and poor communication between our travel agent and Marriott, the team at Marriott Weligama were able to accommodate us suitably on our 2nd and 3rd night.

The poor room service resulted in us phoning reception on a daily basis to ask for towels and shower caps, I am sure they would see us ringing and be thinking ‘not them again!’.

The rooms were spotless, there was a huge variety at breakfast and dinner and the staff regularly offered to provide anything extra we may need.

but we still get so much great feedback from our guests about how great the food was.

I would like to make a comment regarding meals.

Same time the food was really good and the service from the Hotel is really woow. us.

Also the Weligama Kitchen provides a truly international menu option for you to select covering authentic Sri Lankan, Western, Indian, Chines and Thai.

When we planned our trip, we wanted to finalize with the best of the best.. For us it means, big modern rooms, clean, attention to details by all means, including attitude, customer service, hotel facilities, spa, kids activities, room service, restaurants, and more.

The hotel offered great menus for all meals which we really did enjoy.

The staff were incredibly attentive and focused on our needs and safety, and the meals are down to its great flavors.

Food & service was the major highlight of the hotel.

First - the buffet - excellent for all three meals - great variety and delicious food - the most beautiful hoppers made at breakfast by the chef

Then - the rooms were really beautiful, comfortable and peaceful - we also had the ocean view rooms.

The variety of food available at the buffet restaurant - simply brilliant.

The room service is top notch and everyone extremely caring and attentive.

One of the best resorts I have ever stayed (Including SL, USA, Singapore, Thailand, India) and by far the best Marriott resort when it comes to Rooms, Services and Amenities.

Rooms are spacious and have all the amenities one needs.

Great food options both at the buffet and a la carte, comfortable rooms with all the necessary amenities and gorgeous views of the ocean from the balcony just made everything complete.

The hotel is perfect: great location (especially for surf lovers), great food (seafood, fish, fruits), stunning view (you just say WOW when you enter the room) and amazing people working at the hotel.

The view from the rooms is really nice because the sea and the beach in front of the hotel is one of a kind.

While the room and view were fabulous we were left with a feeling of not being wanted!

but coming back to a room with a broken AC in this heat was not a pleasent experience.

The fork lockout on my bike was broken and the rear brake was virtually useless.

The resort is strategically located - the viewpoints are out of this world and the view from the moon pool was spectacular.

after that girls opted for the hot stone massage while i opted for swim in the well maintained crescent shaped infinity pool overlooking the ocean view from a high elevation.

You can sit by the pool all day, or, if you're like us, you can do lots of activities.

Each villa is as large as a home with an amazing infinity pool.

The moon pool was beautiful with spectacular views and the pool guys were there ready with towels and cool drinks.

Accommodation was total luxury and we were blessed with having the pool to ourselves.

We were 5 people and could enjoy a private pool for our 3 villas which gives an extra touch of privacy, while still having a view over the cliff.

The chalets are amazing with their own pools alongside the superb hotel “Moon” pool with its views across the ocean from atop of the cliffs.

The views take your breath away and the villa (Ocean view with pool shared with one other villa, which was unoccupied during our stay) is completely over the top.

The facilities are fantastic, we did not have a shared private pool so I'm able to comment on the 2 shared pools which were clean, at a lovely temperature and from the moon shaped infinity pool, the views were amazing.

Overall, the hotel is everything one can expect from a five star resort - the food is delicious, the service is good, the views (especially from the moon pool) and beaches are breathtaking.

The private patio and the shared private pool was awesome.

The resort's iconic infinity 'Moon Pool' is also beautiful, and is the ideal place to watch a beautiful sunrise and sunset on a clear day!

My 7 year old girl had a fantastic  Time and she really enjoyed the pool breakfast they have arranged.

We had 3 great days with private swimming pool, huge room (I think the biggest in 6 months) and very good food.

We booked the Villa with semi-private pool.

Moon pool is also great with super views.

We walked down to the beach which might as well be a private beach, as it was always empty.

The hotel arrangement surfing lessons for our kids in weligama bay that were very good, as well as a great private whale watching tour.

So relaxing, so private and a great place to go if you want to bust your stress.

Stunning hotel and rooms pushed boat out for ocean view room with private pool and didn't regret it for a second great room and if weather would have allowed would have spent longer on the spacious patio area and in pool which spread across front of room 15m long i think

You can take a private car or a small seaplane to the resort.

The villas are beautiful, private and quiet.

been there with my wife and our daughter in a two-bedroom pool villa with a private pool in the upper floor directly accessible from your bedroom with fantastic views to the sea and the surrounndings; as we were in "quarantane" for our entire stay (8 nights) at the resort we only enjoeyd in-resort food & beverage which was fantastic; "the menu was just a rough guideline" - we had the opportunity to discuss each day with the chef our dinner menu .

Loved the private pool we shared with our friends.

Because there are villas that share private pools, and with covid restrictions and my suspect body odour, we had the pool to ourselves much of the time.

The private pool was secluded and was an ideal spot to chill in the evening and to have a morning dip before breakfast.

We stayed in a beautifully appointed Grand Ocean Villa, which offers a private pool as well as being steps away from the stunning 60-meter cliff edge, Moon pool.
