Mine had a small balcony that overlooked the port.

Tall glass French doors opened to a balcony over a busy street to the open water of the port.

do not forget these cards, as there is a patroll contiunously watching.

The guy that took us to get our car tried to charge us extra, for 2 1/2 days,

Its right in front of the port (3 min walking distance to get to the ferry boat ) the staff is very friendly and attentive, the rooms are clean and you can enjoy a nice breakfast on the terrace - overlooking the port and bay area.

Nice staff, perfect coffee in the morning (real italian style) and clean rooms.

The wifi was good, the breakfast was sufficient  (6am to 10am), the air conditioning worked well, the beds were comfortable and soft (first soft beds we've encounted in italy) and the room was clean.

Our en suite room was clean if somewhat spartan with no tea or coffee making facilities,

Lovely hotel,the receptionists were very welcoming.Very clean rooms and public areas.

The room was spotless and has everything we needed.

The installation of noise reduction windows would we a good idea!

The Wi-Fi, as has been mentioned before, is incredibly poor in this day and age.

However: the hotel is hard to find; our room had an uninspiring view over the back yard and the balcony had no chairs; breakfast was very poor for a 4 star hotel; there was not much character - a case of style over content.

The sanitary facilities proved to be in a poor state.

Sound insulation in between floors poor, hope that the person above you doesn't walk about much or go for the highest floor rooms.

but very poor reception in the room or in general areas.

Breakfast is definitely not at the level of a 4 stars hotel, I would evaluate it as poor (not good fresh fruits, pastries averages, salty stuffs like cheese, ham, tomatoes. almost non existing, no egg.  )

although these were provided when I requested them.

It was my last morning when a waitor finally came and asked for the first and only time if I wanted coffee or a cappuccino.

but again this was not offered and when i asked they were non committal.

However the staff were quite rude, they did not give us any information about the town and when asked simply gave us one word answers.

Breakfast is disappointing-cold and minimal choice.Coffe  refills only after multiple request.

Cheap toast bread run out and had to be asked ; SME happened with the cheep cheese and ham - incredible incompetent people 

I am usually quite relax about this -

When we asked for help we were told to leave our patio doors open for air.

At this point we requested to speak with the manager who agreed to get some supplies in especially for us the following morning.

Hotel itself is neat and room and bathroom was nicely renovated.

The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful

I'll give 4+

On plus side:

We stayed for a short stay , excellent location , excellent parking area , great Breakfast , good clean rooms.

The hotel seems new and modern and the rooms were clean and big enough.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and very  comfortable- very good value for money.

The hotel room is very clean, the decor very nice and bed is comfortable.

but it never was really clear why the water supply was not stable.

Some problems faced due to lack of a more competent maintenance management: certain difficulty in closing the bedroom door, an inefficient shower partition separating the tub from the bathroom area, allowing water to flood the bathroom floor, after each and every bath.

but i would have expected a 4 star hotel to have black tea and hot water.

The hot water was Luke warm and I had to ask several times for hot water which was never given.

While the quality of the cold dishes was quite good coffee turned out to be coloured water.

With the outside temperature getting close to 30 it was boiling hot, and at night we found it impossible to sleep.

A bottle of milk and a single bottle of water shouldn't cause a fridge to breakdown.

If you are getting up before 7am you need to allow 10-15minutes to let the hot water run through otherwise you get a cold shower.

-The water was hot in the bathroom , and instruction how to work the shower units!

but quickly fixed was the hot water that was at best look warm at 6am.

In the morning the breakfast was very poor and the staff very unfriendly.

Very nice and clean room, good and delicious breakfast with warm pastries, fresh fruits and juices.

Very beautiful, cosy, clean rooms with the names of flowers (we lived in gelsomino :)), really nice, spacious bathroom, little terrace outside, full breakfast (sandwiches, eggs, croissants, fruits, juice, yoghurt…), good place – practically on the beach, 15 min walk to the port and bus station. Highly recommended :)

The room was clean, near the ferry port,  beach and cita center.. You have to call them before arriving.

Many mosquitos inside and the TV was not working well.

The plan was to leave the car at the hotel parking early in the morning and to head to the port to catch the ferry to isole Eolie.

Parking is always difficult, particularly so with the go-kart business.

this hotel does not have parking lot so you will have to find a parking place in the street.

Parking is free from 8pm to 6am and costs only 4€ for the whole day!

When we asked about it during check-in she was on the phone and has us booked for a tour the very next day for 60€/person!

When my husband and I asked how to get to a particular restaurant , the owner's daughter actually walked us to the restaurant (it had been recommended in a TripAdvisor review) and, when it appeared to be closed, she knocked on the door next to the restaurant and rousted out the owner---and the meal was the BEST meal we had in all of Sicily.

Our room was very clean, comfortable and large.

The room was very clean, and tidied for us (even to the point of folding clothes we'd left out) every day.

but is not a very comfortable area to wait in.

Although busy at times during the day there was no traffic noise problems.

If you are driving, it is best to try to avoid arriving during rush hour The street number given when booking was wrong so twice we had to run the gauntlet of a very busy one-way system.

I recommend to contact the owner before arriving, finding the correct door for the first time might be challenging.

Although there wasn't a safe the apartments were very secure, guests have keys to the entrance which is always locked and the bedroom doors have good locks.

Its not easy to find as its on the main street and its just a door with the name written above in small writing, Parking is free on the blue lines.

The only downside is the air con, which is only installed near the front door, and because the flat is basically one long open-plan rectangle it only really cools the kitchen

Room was clean and comfort, free wifi worked pretty ok. Breakfast was served every morning, thought it was quite small and very Italian style.

The room was spotlessly clean with maid service every day.

The rooms are immaculate, really nicely decorated, spacious, comfortable and lovely en suite.

The room was very clean and the hotel is perfectly located to visit the city and to do day trips to the Lipari Islands.

The lady who cleans the apartment each day has a tiresome habit of rearranging your possessions if she thinks they're in the wrong place (which resulted in some vital medication temporarily going missing) and opening windows so that flies and mosquitoes get in.

He is warm and welcoming and the room is clean and comfortable.

Rooms are clean, renovated and quiet (even those facing the street as those have balcony doors with double glassing).

B&B Re Umberto was one of the guest houses we chose to stay on our 2 week round trip of Sicily

Overall: Clean rooms with a comfortable bed, a kind and helpfull host and a price you just cant beat for what your getting

The room: earthy colours are used for the bedroom, while the bathroom comes a long in a bright green outfit.

Sadly we only had one day before we were taking a train to Taormina

Our only issue was the air conditioning was not operational.

but mine looked out over some sort of ventilation shaft or inner courtyard.

After a second that we were there we realized that the AC was not working , we called and they said that they fix it.

I called the front desk, apparently they set the temperature for you at 22, and then at some point in the night the AC will go off.

A polite request for a couple of cups of tea around 10pm was not very well received by night staff (clearly we were putting them out) and resulted in a couple of weak, tepid cups of tea which we were charged an unreasonable amount for.

although there was an extra charge to park in the hotel car park.

They are unpleasant and charge you without pre-notification - they wanted to charge us 2 Euro for 2 pieces of tomatoes !

We were warmly greeted and the room was very clean and comfortable.

The hotel room was clean, incredibly spacious, and the view was lovely.

We really enjoyed this trip, the hotel is beautiful the rooms are very clean and very well decorated, the food is delicicius we never had had eat those delicious dishes.

Back to the room , of course the AC was not working , they  continue to say that was the right temperature , basically they control the temperature from dawn stair and you can adjust just for 2 or 3 degree, anyway was not working at all , and in the room there was 28 degree with 3 people sleeping.

My room’s window faced another room’s window, so I couldn’t even open the curtains.

My window was feet away from the window of the room opposite.

It was in a run down industrial area of the town about 2km from the centre.

The walk to the main part of town traverses an area of auto repair shops and is largely abandoned at night.

The bar area spills out into the reception area which is a little strange.

Breakfast was poor and the fresh fruit tasteless.

Breakfast is poor, only cakes and bread from a supermarket.

My room was spotlessly clean, there was a hairdryer, fridge, wifi, air conditioning and lots of hot water from the shower.

Good quality clean rooms, excellent value and good service and free parking.

From the easy parking lot, to the help at the reception, lift to the modern, new and clean rooms with a shiny bathroom; great breakfast and taxi service included to the town centre and all this for a very fair price; that's what I mean by -all in one- !

On the other hand, room was clean, nice, yet a bit small for a triple.

Place is on the outskirts of town so a bit of a walk.

But in a terribly run down part of town, largely abandoned industrial buildings, and around a mile of them between the hotel and the centre of town.

They also drove us into town for dinner and picked us up when we called (there are not many restaurants near the hotel, as it's not quite in the town center).

I arrived in Milazzo totally by mistake because I was in the wrong train.

We spent there a night, arriving at midnight without any booking, after driving around Milazzo for an hour looking for a spare room.

The rooms are always clean and tidy, heating works perfectly in winter and we have private parking, and it's close to the centre of Milazzo shops, I will come again.

The breakfast is very good and the rooms are very clean.

The rooms were very clean and 40 euros for a couple which included an ensuite and breakfast.

By the way, in all the places we stayed in Italy there we mosquitos, so remember to bring bug spray!

Wifi is available and apart from a tv in the room there is another in the breakfast room.
