On our arrival late in the night we were greeted by a man standing at the front door smoking cigarette and the smell of smoke in the hotel voyeur was horrendous.

The balcony was also not fit for purpose, the balcony was not much wider than the table and chairs so to sit on the balcony we had to place the table in front of the door and push left or right to be able to sit on the chairs, good job there was only two of us!!

The beds in the room were also rock hard and the door on my shower cubical was literally almost hanging off!

The doors are also very hard to open the locks don’t work like at home which is fine

I have to question whether the new management are in the least bit interested in the guests and their opinion, in recent visits we would receive a questionnaire under the door the day before leaving, this does not happen, If they were interested they would ask.

Theres a do not disturb sign that you can put on your door if you do not want the cleaners to come in, we opted not to have our rooms cleaned every day

but the balcony doors had to be kept shut .Unfortunately the doors had no handles on the outside so both of you you couldn't sit outside with the air con on inside.

but comfy, plenty of extra blankets if you needed them and loads of pillows, we had a wet room, so yes the floor was wet after a shower, but put the bath mat outside the door to dry your feet!

Only issue with room  toilet door jammed so I had to go at 5am to use restaurant  facilities and then take son down at 7am (Mike the night man didn't think it would go down well if he tried to open door with brut force!).

It is ridiculously small (3ft x 9ft) being no bigger than a walk-in wardrobe with a silly sliding door that had to be open when using the basin due to the lack of room.

The aircon switches off if you open the balcony door.

however the glass doors and shutters kept most the noise out.

Unfortunately, the ventilation in the bathroom was constructed incorrectly, allowing us to hear all the noises from next door's bathroom and, I presume, vice versa!

There is a small door within the sliding gate, go through and follow the road to the bottom where you will reach the main beach road.

The patio doors were really narrow leading to the tiny balcony.

If you didn't want the room making up then we just left the door handle sign on the outside and we were left alone.

Unlike the normal practice of boarding from the front of the bus the usual way here is to board from the middle door, take a seat and a conductor will come and take you fare.

but the door was often closed during the day.

but after the third day it just became normal, I think you just get use to it, the rooms have shutter doors that keeps most of the noise out anyway.

The shutters on the balcony doors were so useful when our 16 month old Granddaughter was sleeping, keeping the room dark and quiet at night.

Two positives were the lovely friendly Anna on the front desk & Tony the Karaoke/Bingo/Quiz guy that does some entertainment nights there.

The two girls at reception are so friendly and helpful and the entire staff are great.

We also find all the staff are always polite, supportive & friendly too.

but the welcome and service remains as friendly, helpful and efficient as expected.

Staff were very friendly and a particular shout out to Constantina and Anna on reception who were always smiling and helpful.

The staff were all amazing , worked exceptionally hard, always smiling and very friendly nothing was to much trouble (especially the lady with blond hair and glasses sorry forgot your name).

Excellent place to spend time with your family, very clean environment , comfortable rooms , plenty facilities for kids , fresh food , staff was lovely very friendly and kind especially the manager of the hotel giorgos babos such a lovely man with many years of experience in the management he treated us they best way that any  anyone could do very happy honestly highly recommend the Anastasia hotel such a beautiful place also beautiful beaches nearby.

The restaurant and waiting staff were all nice and very attentive, the receptionists were really lovely and helpful, the bar staff are not very friendly to be honest.

The staff is friendly and there is enough pool space around.

Also the hotel treated me on my birthday with a card, flowers and a bottle of wine was a really nice touch and the staff was all fantastic everyone  was so welcoming and friendly they really make your holiday.

It’s now a poor budget hotel with very basic facilities.

The food is repetitive,  poor quality and kept just warm.

The atmosphere, the food and even the entertainment was very poor.

It was a 14" model with poor reception and four channels (BBC World, Bloomberg UK, Greek ANT and Greek Sky).

Rooms are severally dated and probably have not been modernised in the past 30 or 40 years, old fashioned fixtures and fittings, old fashioned Portable TV's with poor tv signal

Just as lots of other people found, the food was very poor.

The entertainment was poor and cheesy and not once did anyone show us where the gym was or advise us of the other facilities on offer.

The hygiene standards of this hotel are really poor.

but i thought it was very poor, not enough choice, terrible bacon, sausages were not good, fried eggs ok but they only had them about every third day.

The poor quality and choice for the evening meal was particularly poor and I spoke to a number of returning guests who were of the same opinion.

We emailed ahead of our trip and requested a room near the front of the hotel due to my husband's poor mobility.

The only down side was the kids entertainment was poor

but felt it necessary after reading some recent poor reviews.

but evening meals very poor quality , we bought food at lunchtimes which was better .

Rooms: at first we were put in room 302 which to be honest is very poor.

Nice hotel, bit run down, the staff work hard and will do anything to help you.

However the majority of the staff are wonderful especially the reception staff and the lovely cleaning ladies.

We go to recharge the battteries & it is lovely to see a lot of the old staff who work tirelessly to make your holiday enjoyable.

This hotel is a real gem, the staff are fantastic.

We had a fantastic stay.Excellent staff great service a job well done.rooms clean and tidy a small walk to the strip and beach.

They have to be congratulated on their performance, from the bar, restaurant,reception, and cleaning staff all were there to make it one of the best places to stay.

The hotel receptionist agreed that it should be in the archeological museum of Heraklion!

!haha.now the letdown for us personally was a few staff members who looked as if they detested their job!people are on their holidays and would like a genuine smile now and then please.we did meet some great people on our second week!

On arrival at the hotel our first impressions were of lovely friendly staff,

The evening was disappointing as the service was poor, wine was served in a plastic beaker to us whilst the next table received theirs is glass wine glasses, we didn't return  again in the evenings.

though was the lunchtime snack restaurant, having had many all-inclusive holidays this lunchtime food was quite poor.

The food was poor and the service slow (especially in the main buffet).

The food was very poor my husband couldn't find anything he liked other than pizza chips and spaghetti bologanaise.

On the negative side the room we stayed in was dated, service at the pool bar was very poor, and unless you got up at some unearthly hour you had no chance of getting a sunbed thanks to the towel dropping 'this is my sunbed brigade',

We have waited over 2 years for this holiday and am aware we are very lucky to be here and have made it through covid where as some poor souls haven’t.

Given that the hotel is meant to be a 5 star hotel (in my opinion it's 4 star), the entertainment on offer in the evenings was poor.

Their attitude is  appalling,  very poor service and their customer service is not good.

Entertainment -  Overall poor and non existent.

Unfortunately we seemed to be there a week too early as the beach bar didn’t open until the day we were leaving, and generally the entertainment was poor in the evenings.

Life is about opinions and in our opinion the food was very very poor.

summing up its a nice Hotel let down by its poor and often confusing drinks package.

Ilias was so helpful and accommodating and he assured me that he would try to accommodate us as much as possible.

Special praise and appreciation for the reception and bar staff.

Reception always trying to fulfill all our wishes !

The personelle was very attentive to all our requests.

The following day Mr Terzakis, the Assistant Manager, dealt with everything.

For this, i want to thank you to every staff who work on the kitchen and take care to my doughter to have a gluten free food.

was well looked after particularly by the manager of the hotel Mr ilias Papadomichelakis who was so helpful in obtaining my blood pressure tablet that l had forgotten to take with me.

The staff all over the hotel, the service, the food, the weather.

The hotel is tired, not overly clean and many of the staff were grumpy and irritable as the season was coming to an end perhaps.

All the staff at this hotel are the best. .

I have since checked and there are two charities on the island that are available to assist with a trap, neuter, release scheme.

Welcoming and friendly staff, Mike's massage was perfect, I didn't see the 70 minutes go by.

The Greek people working in the hotel and outside the hotel are all warm and friendly, making you feel very welcome.

The staff were all very friendly and couldn't do enough for us.

The waiters and waitresses were mostly friendly and polite.

My experience was one where only about 80% of all staff came across as professional, friendly, and polite.

All staff really welcoming and friendly and I would definitely book again here.

All the staff at the spa were very friendly and welcoming I even had a few minutes telling them about where I live, Blackpool, and showing them pictures of the princess carriages on the promenade.

Just pay for your basic room, and don’t expect friendly staff, because they don’t work here

The receptionist were friendly and I was met by Anna who took the therapy room which was relaxing with nice ambience

We were welcomed with warm friendly smiles and a glass of chilled Prosecco,  we were then taken to our room which had been upgraded for us.

A lovely experience, very friendly and an awesome and open massagenist.

I was treated by Theodoros and he was very friendly, good with his massages and explaining what products he was using.

Staff were all very friendly and rooms were nice and clean.

Lovely hotel and staff are so friendly, good are quality especially Greek Olive and Sun dried tomato!

but outside staff worked very hard to find a table for people, and were helpful and friendly the onsite supermarket was great, lots of variety, we ate out in the Italian restaurant ( you can dine in 1 of the Al la carte restaurants once during your stay if you are there for a week ) and the food was wonderful, some areas need an upgrade like the sunbeds, and tiling around the main slide pool.

Cocktail menu is poor for the all inclusive, there are a few more that you can buy

The food was poor quality and prepared so far inadvanaged, we are both not fussy eaters

Food poor, left out so not hot enough, I got food poisoning & got no help from staff at reception.

The main area that we all feel needs improving is the entertainment the night time entertainment was very poor, for a 4 plus hotel we were hopeful for a few shows

Another personal opinion was their poor wine selection, only sweet white wine (no dry option), while the red wine was always served too warm.

Only two downsides; room cleanliness was relatively poor, should take a few of the staff from restaurant and bar duty and support the rooms teams.

At first we found entertainment poor ( later we found out animation crew is new )

The entertainment both during the day and at night is very poor, I couldn't recommend it for children, there is literally nothing to do at night.

All in all the experience has been extremely poor from beginning to end.

I struggle to understand how some people come on this site and give a good review as it was so poor from start to finish.

We had poor weather and paid 112 euros to use indoor pool for 1 hour and water was freezing in the warm pool and some of spa jets not working.

Negative, reception staff not very welcoming on the whole, all inclusive evening meals of poor quality.

Only negatives:

Greek a la carte restaurant in the hotel was bad
Entertainment was poor 
Greek city tax requested at the end of the holiday not the start 
Drinks are not self serve so you have to wait ages for one

The entertainment is poor, some singers, a band, a proper kareoke machine , pool tornements and quiz nights would have been a welcome addition.

but the rest of the nights were poor quizzes .

Some nights we just stayed in, I think this needs to be address as you can tell the poor team are running on limited or no budget.

The negatives surround the alcohol choice which for a 5* hotel was poor.

We went for a deep tissue massage each - the spa is pricey and needs updating.

Also the drinks were minimal on all inclusive so no rose wine or Bailey's had to pay 8 euros extra .

Where do I start , this is not a 5 star hotel more like a 3 star very disappointed
Very basic drink option unless you want to pay for extra couldn't even get a rose wine , pineapple juice  or even a cheap brand  Bailey's .

Several of our group had booked last year and paid for deluxe one bedroom apartments,  the rest of our group booked much later, they did not pay the extra for deluxe, and their rooms were far superior to ours.

but could not get any help on this matter, when you pay your money no one wants to help in anyway.

My only one criticism would be that the sister hotel where you can access the beach does not include drinks and food for all inclusive customers making this an additional cost.

I would have paid extra for a better selection of drinks!

The reason I didn’t rate a 5 is due to:
1.

Check in was very simple, just remember you will have to pay tourist tax upon check in which I think was about 100 euros in total for all of us.

Word got out that they pay social media influencers and then we spotted them.

but not cheap (£420) the spa indoor pool use is not all inclusive it is NOT FREE, and you can't use the steam room/jacuzzi without paying.

The All Inclusive package includes certain drinks, unfortunately these are cheap, low quality.

We both went to the spa for treatments which we did think were a bit expensive

The spa is very expensive, just to use the pool, steam room and sauna was 60 euros.

Definitely would not stay here again, excessively overpriced and definitely does not live up to expectation.

Then all he done was keep avoiding us all evening until one of our party stopped him he then said that his boss had said he was not to move us as we had a room that we had paid for.

Overall it was a good experience, only it was on the expensive side.

If you want to keep the room then you have to pay €120! Shocking.

but he always took time to have a chat with us and is very funny , all the staff are a credit to the hotel.

Very nice resort, very clean,  great staff and lovely food.

And then we have the restaurant manager well what can we say about this lovely guy Julian such a pleasure he has a constant smile on his face and always takes time out to chat with you.

Lovely tranquil resort, superb staff, great food, plenty of lovely pools, excellent for a family break.

The staff are friendly and the hotel everywhere is clean, including the swimming pool areas, rooms and restaurants.

We will not be back which is a pity because the staff were lovely and could not be more helpful.

Majority of the staff were really friendly and helpful: Victor on the beach was amazing, Renia in the evening bar was brilliant, and there was a young female receptionist with glasses who went out of her way to be awesome.

The hotel staff were very friendly and spoke good English.

Staff have been fabulous so friendly and plenty of choice except toward the end of the stay as it was end of season so choices began to dwindle each day.

Fantastic hotel with very friendly staff, the buffet has a good choice of food and great quality .

Generally the staff were all very friendly and helpful at all times.
