On our arrival late in the night we were greeted by a man standing at the front door smoking cigarette and the smell of smoke in the hotel voyeur was horrendous.

The balcony was also not fit for purpose, the balcony was not much wider than the table and chairs so to sit on the balcony we had to place the table in front of the door and push left or right to be able to sit on the chairs, good job there was only two of us!!

The beds in the room were also rock hard and the door on my shower cubical was literally almost hanging off!

The doors are also very hard to open the locks don’t work like at home which is fine

I have to question whether the new management are in the least bit interested in the guests and their opinion, in recent visits we would receive a questionnaire under the door the day before leaving, this does not happen, If they were interested they would ask.

Theres a do not disturb sign that you can put on your door if you do not want the cleaners to come in, we opted not to have our rooms cleaned every day

but the balcony doors had to be kept shut .Unfortunately the doors had no handles on the outside so both of you you couldn't sit outside with the air con on inside.

but comfy, plenty of extra blankets if you needed them and loads of pillows, we had a wet room, so yes the floor was wet after a shower, but put the bath mat outside the door to dry your feet!

Only issue with room  toilet door jammed so I had to go at 5am to use restaurant  facilities and then take son down at 7am (Mike the night man didn't think it would go down well if he tried to open door with brut force!).

It is ridiculously small (3ft x 9ft) being no bigger than a walk-in wardrobe with a silly sliding door that had to be open when using the basin due to the lack of room.

The aircon switches off if you open the balcony door.

however the glass doors and shutters kept most the noise out.

Unfortunately, the ventilation in the bathroom was constructed incorrectly, allowing us to hear all the noises from next door's bathroom and, I presume, vice versa!

There is a small door within the sliding gate, go through and follow the road to the bottom where you will reach the main beach road.

The patio doors were really narrow leading to the tiny balcony.

If you didn't want the room making up then we just left the door handle sign on the outside and we were left alone.

Unlike the normal practice of boarding from the front of the bus the usual way here is to board from the middle door, take a seat and a conductor will come and take you fare.

but the door was often closed during the day.

but after the third day it just became normal, I think you just get use to it, the rooms have shutter doors that keeps most of the noise out anyway.

The shutters on the balcony doors were so useful when our 16 month old Granddaughter was sleeping, keeping the room dark and quiet at night.

It’s now a poor budget hotel with very basic facilities.

The food is repetitive,  poor quality and kept just warm.

The atmosphere, the food and even the entertainment was very poor.

It was a 14" model with poor reception and four channels (BBC World, Bloomberg UK, Greek ANT and Greek Sky).

Rooms are severally dated and probably have not been modernised in the past 30 or 40 years, old fashioned fixtures and fittings, old fashioned Portable TV's with poor tv signal

Just as lots of other people found, the food was very poor.

The entertainment was poor and cheesy and not once did anyone show us where the gym was or advise us of the other facilities on offer.

The hygiene standards of this hotel are really poor.

but i thought it was very poor, not enough choice, terrible bacon, sausages were not good, fried eggs ok but they only had them about every third day.

The poor quality and choice for the evening meal was particularly poor and I spoke to a number of returning guests who were of the same opinion.

We emailed ahead of our trip and requested a room near the front of the hotel due to my husband's poor mobility.

The only down side was the kids entertainment was poor

but felt it necessary after reading some recent poor reviews.

Rooms: at first we were put in room 302 which to be honest is very poor.

The room was kept clean and towels and sheets changed regularly by the friendly domestic staff.

However the room was clean and spacious and fine for our 1 night stopover.

Rooms are clean- cozy, the pool is nice and good breakfast.

Arrived early morning and offered a meal, very welcome, luggage carried to room which was very clean, little gripe, beds hard and tv only has 1 english news channel, nothing else, would be perfect if had channels to choose from when come in during day/ night.

She and her husband absolutely loved it  rooms were clean staff were lovely food was great.

Our room was a family room which was kept clean and tidy daily by the cleaners, with fresh towels and bed linen changed on a regular basis.

Wednesday night is our favourite when Giorgos and Manos come to entertain with rock songs on acoustic and electric guitar .. 
All the rooms are clean and comfortable with good views of the hotel gardens and surrounding mountains ..Anastasia for us is well situated for access to the beach in either Stalis or Malia..

the room was kept very clean by our girls, would have liked clean towels everyday, I don’t like using dirty ones, and I must say we had a safe and one day went out without locking it   and left the key in the safe door 😱 these girls are so honest and a credit to the hotel .

The food was poor quality and prepared so far inadvanaged, we are both not fussy eaters

Food poor, left out so not hot enough, I got food poisoning & got no help from staff at reception.

The main area that we all feel needs improving is the entertainment the night time entertainment was very poor, for a 4 plus hotel we were hopeful for a few shows

Another personal opinion was their poor wine selection, only sweet white wine (no dry option), while the red wine was always served too warm.

Only two downsides; room cleanliness was relatively poor, should take a few of the staff from restaurant and bar duty and support the rooms teams.

At first we found entertainment poor ( later we found out animation crew is new )

The entertainment both during the day and at night is very poor, I couldn't recommend it for children, there is literally nothing to do at night.

All in all the experience has been extremely poor from beginning to end.

I struggle to understand how some people come on this site and give a good review as it was so poor from start to finish.

We had poor weather and paid 112 euros to use indoor pool for 1 hour and water was freezing in the warm pool and some of spa jets not working.

Negative, reception staff not very welcoming on the whole, all inclusive evening meals of poor quality.

Only negatives:

Greek a la carte restaurant in the hotel was bad
Entertainment was poor 
Greek city tax requested at the end of the holiday not the start 
Drinks are not self serve so you have to wait ages for one

The entertainment is poor, some singers, a band, a proper kareoke machine , pool tornements and quiz nights would have been a welcome addition.

but the rest of the nights were poor quizzes .

Some nights we just stayed in, I think this needs to be address as you can tell the poor team are running on limited or no budget.

The negatives surround the alcohol choice which for a 5* hotel was poor.

We went for a deep tissue massage each - the spa is pricey and needs updating.

Also the drinks were minimal on all inclusive so no rose wine or Bailey's had to pay 8 euros extra .

Where do I start , this is not a 5 star hotel more like a 3 star very disappointed
Very basic drink option unless you want to pay for extra couldn't even get a rose wine , pineapple juice  or even a cheap brand  Bailey's .

Several of our group had booked last year and paid for deluxe one bedroom apartments,  the rest of our group booked much later, they did not pay the extra for deluxe, and their rooms were far superior to ours.

but could not get any help on this matter, when you pay your money no one wants to help in anyway.

My only one criticism would be that the sister hotel where you can access the beach does not include drinks and food for all inclusive customers making this an additional cost.

I would have paid extra for a better selection of drinks!

The reason I didn’t rate a 5 is due to:
1.

Check in was very simple, just remember you will have to pay tourist tax upon check in which I think was about 100 euros in total for all of us.

Word got out that they pay social media influencers and then we spotted them.

but not cheap (£420) the spa indoor pool use is not all inclusive it is NOT FREE, and you can't use the steam room/jacuzzi without paying.

The All Inclusive package includes certain drinks, unfortunately these are cheap, low quality.

We both went to the spa for treatments which we did think were a bit expensive

The spa is very expensive, just to use the pool, steam room and sauna was 60 euros.

Definitely would not stay here again, excessively overpriced and definitely does not live up to expectation.

Then all he done was keep avoiding us all evening until one of our party stopped him he then said that his boss had said he was not to move us as we had a room that we had paid for.

Overall it was a good experience, only it was on the expensive side.

If you want to keep the room then you have to pay €120! Shocking.

The room was clean with a lovely view of the ocean, alas the Wi-Fi was not working well, plus there was no table and chair to sit, in order for my husband to work.

Once we arrived in our room, the rooms were clean and nicely laid out.

However, the 5 of us enjoyed our week, clean rooms,  lovely food, and beautiful weather.

The rooms are kept tidy, the water bottles are a nice touch, the hospitality staff are hard working, the heat they have to work in and the mess some people leave for them is disgusting so hats off to them.

but as it was late in the evening, we informed the reception staff the next morning and they went above and beyond to ensure our room was cleaned to a better standard, any issues there were always quick to resolve it, the staff were warm and friendly.

but did the job, however we didn’t really feel that the room was cleaned to a high standard throughout the week and you only got 3-4 bottles of water a day and bottled water wasn’t part of the AI, so we grabbed some large bottles from the supermarket.

Our housekeeper was lovely and kept the room very clean.

Our rooms were clean and were cleaned every day by the staff, with air con.

The rooms were always clean and the extra pool towels came in handy.

Greeted by Joseph who proceeded to relay all the prices, I believe he said 15 euros per night for air con,  ?

How did he know I had no aircon and why should that matter?

There is an additional charge for air con

They charge 15 Euro per day for air con, which I needed as it as there were only the entrance door and the door to the balcony, no windows and no fan.

Arrived late at night,bombarded with extras like air con 15 euros per night ,b q night 30 euros each,does and don’t signs every ware you go ,next door decided to buy small fan was confiscated told he could have it back when he was leaving, bed rooms basic red hot mosquitoes everywhere not very nice.

We paid for air con and safe and govement tax which came to 125 euros.

We already knew it would cost extra as it stated this when we booked the holiday and is the same as the majority of places we have holidayed at, you're very lucky if you get aircon or wifi free.

Especially when the heat from the fridge in you room is like having the heating on anyway.

We arrived early hours on Sunday morning due to flight being delayed,  when we finally arrived at our destination, there was someone waiting for us, with a very warm welcome ,  he than took us back to hotel to check in, we paid for wifi & air con & safe the man in the office mentioned about they have a bbq have on a friday night,  so we said yer we will go for that .

The only thing to note is that you do have to pay for wifi, room tax and air con so budget that in for when your checking in - would highly recommend as the wifi is strong & we couldn’t sleep without the air con so definitely just pay it for your whole stay.

I read some of the negative reviews (which are all so so tru ) so I bought a couple of desk fans .

As negatives, is the fact that NOWHERE in the booking it is mentioned that you need to pay for wifi, safe and air conditioning.

Where to start, the rehearsed robbing at the front desk on arrival at 1am, to the watered down drinks, to the shabby, dirty room (we had booked a superior double with a balcony and air con) we had to pay the best part of 180 for all of this at 4am when we couldn't breathe in our dirty hovel they called a room.

Given that it was either too cold sleeping under the air con due to the furniture positioning or too hot with it off, sleeping was already a challenge.

We paid €120 for air conditioning and Wi-Fi for 6 nights.

There is a charge at check in for wifi, a safe, aircon and their greek night,

- The air con was 15 euro a day (3 aug 2023) which is not cheap,

On arrival you are pressured into paying over 140 euros for air con WiFi (which doesn’t even work) I had to use my own data the whole holiday!

we said all we wanted was the air con, and suddenly it became 25€ per day , as it’s only 15 per day if we take everything on offer as a package ‘deal’ !

We had seen some reviews about the extra charges which had left us cautious

So that means he can charge you 4 euro for a piece of toast, and believe me he will.

As you can see, there was €9 on the invoice and the €120 was transacted separately, obviously not included in the invoice.

We were then encouraged to buy drinks , which were beyond watered down , and when we went to pay with card they told us we needed to pay with cash only !which meant a trip to the atm as they had already taken our cash for the first special deal!

Pay with card and ask for a receipt which says Aircon.

There was an additional charge for air con which we expected and the cleaners visited daily.

Arrived and was confronted by a raft of extortion charges for safe air con Wi-Fi (which was awful) Passive aggressive confrontation staff dirty rooms.

They referred me to the small print that mentions that "additional charges may be added for local services".

BE WARNED you are charged for the air conditioning, safety deposit box and Wi-Fi.

There are additional charges for the safe, WiFi and air conditioning which is all in the detail so no surprises for us.

And the kids like to sit on their phones and play cards

Worth bearing in mind that you will be charged €75 upon arrival for air con, safe and a t shirt which you basically have to pay.

Then when talking to other people around the pool we found out that everyone had been charged differently ranging from €50, €65, €75, €95 each with no explanation to the differences 

- The hotel owns 4 separate buildings across about 0.4mile of the main road.

Air Con and safe facilities are an additional cost, charged by the day.

When we arrived we payed an additional charge for WiFi,air conditioning and a safe.

If there was a charge for people to stay we would have been told so we assumed he took this money for himself.

This hotel charges significant and varied prices to access air con, wifi and a safety deposit box.

The rooms are clean and tidy and our room was spacious.the cleaners are also friendly and always willing to help.

Aegean Sky provided us with a comfy bed, clean room and a base from where we explored Malia and the surrounding area.

A modern bathroom, very, very comfortable beds and the room was spotlessly clean.

Security is on the door during the night too so we felt so safe coming back from nights out, the rooms were clean and bathroom was lovley.

Had the best experience, rooms were clean and spacious, staff were very welcoming and made our time at the hotel so enjoyable.

Beautiful hotel, lovely clean rooms, amazing food, friendly staff, everything you could wish for. I was travelling with my two children aged 7 and 10 and the waterpark was perfect for them (they are fairly brave when it comes to slides!)

The only thing I  would moan about this time was my room wasn't swept/ hoovered in two weeks,  bit of plastic still on floor when I checked out!!

however the sunbeds are plastic and the toppers faux leather that gets extremely hot.

but the cups still contain plastic so aren't that sustainable anyway.

All plastic cups, half filled and all taste the same.

but soggy paper cups are shocking way to serve drinks get with the modern age of plastic glasses which won't break

When we first arrived it was very busy and did not get a sun bed for the first couple of days and had to sit on the plastic chairs.

Nobody likes drinking cocktails or wine out of a plastic cup

The cocktails are badly made in small single-use plastic glasses.

There is a huge waste of plastic in the drinking cups which can end up blowing about the pool areas for those who don't choose to put these in the bins.
