Fantastically clean with lovely friendly staff, a very large hotel where you can always find a place for yourself for a bit of peace and quiet or live it up with the entertainment staff, the outdoor dining and bars were a real treat!

This is a large hotel very friendly,clean,food really good always something to do lots of different places to sit or sunbathe, quite area also a music and activities pools , it also is a quick transfer to airport only 10 to 15 minutes, we enjoy it every time we go

The hotel was clean, the staff friendly and helpful, room was comfortable, plenty sun beds around the pools.

Another great holiday in this lovely hotel with its fantastic staff, nothing is to much bother for them and they always serve  you with a smile and friendly comment, LoLo in particular was most helpful to us and is an absolute credit to the Riu brand, the restaurant and bar staff are fantastic and always do their upmost to ensure everything is available to meet your needs.

Food, service, maintenance and staff were all very high quality and it's a place where you can see the staff get on well with each other so there is a friendly atmosphere all round.

Also the food was never hot at best Luke warm and the choice very Ltd, The entertainment was poor.

Entertainment is poor, the staff basically cater for the Spanish guests.

but not great no showcooking very much pile it high for the number of guests (the reception said the hotel was full around 1600 guests) You could also book one of 3 restaurants,Italian buffet starter/sweet main very poor choice of 4 things served to the table.

The choice and standard of food was extremely limited and at times quite poor, unless you liked pork, as that seemed to be the meat of choice for every meal and we had vegetables several times that were virtually raw and completely unedible.

but it's true that some things were poor quality, especially the coffee which was horrible.

Despite the hard work and obvious skills of the Riu entertainments team it left a little to be desired due to the poor acoustics of the theatre, this is due to the low ceiling in the room, it was difficult to hear what was being said and when the music was being 0payed it was far too loud we  could hear it in our room in room 1803.

but in general the choices in that area of the food were poor in our opinion.

The cocktails are very poor as felt like to alcohol at all.

It just felt a little poor that they didn’t give us notice of this.

No ice creams available apart from meal times, poor quality cocktails and thin bath towels , none of these things affected the holiday .

but my wife prefers hotter

The one thing that was poor was the quality of the wine but didn’t ruin our holiday just drank more G&T’s !

The rooms were clean and modern very  poor thin quality bath towels for a 4star hotel
 The dinning room was very  busy and tables not sprayed  with sanitizer  after quests have finished  before new quests.

I don’t know if all Riu hotels have gone downhill, or we just chose a poor example,

We have just spent 10 days at this hotel.The standard of food was very good.The staff are a credit to the hotel.The rooms are fine and kept very clean.The big let down was the standard of drinks,the pre-prepared cocktails are shocking,you would be better off having a wine gum.The wines are without doubt the worst we have ever come across,and Riu do themselves no favours having such poor quality drinks, even the staff comment on how poor they are.

but the  food really was poor, the same more or less every lunch and dinner and the quality, oh dear the last night I ended up having a burger!

We had a 2 week stay everything about the hotel was fantastic apart from the food the breakfast they were no sausage no mushrooms the bacon was poor quality and hard and the beans was horrible and they was sprouts there every morning.

Only thing that could have made the holiday better was to have some of the gas heaters down on the smoking terrace (at this time of year).

It such a shame some of this is spoilt by people smoking wherever they think is ok for themselves.

Specialist restaurants a waste of time, starters and sweats were same as in main restaurant only main course different,

Then once it was finished it felt a bit like a damp squib as the lights got partially dimmed and a generic playlist was put on the stereo.

but I was kinda put off by a very unpleasant smell in the seating area- not sure if it is a problem with drains or not.

but I really like it here food and drink always good entertainment is a bit cheesy but the team work very hard I do not normally revenue my holiday I have one small complaint smoking  they have special areas for this disgusting habit but the disgusting people think why can't I smoke where I like we were buy the children's pool people where smoking buy the pool with there own children in their pushchair disgusting I told the reception but I think they do not want to make them not happy

the service was exellent.i have stayed in other riu hotels which were far better than this.trying to get a seat at night in the main bar was a nightmare i wouldnt go back.there was allways a strong smell of sewage around the bar

Absolutley awful food like slop and barley warm hotel staff are rude and very unhelpful and to top it all off they say its ok for men with mental health issues to masturbate in the pool next to children which i find disgusting told the staff nothing was done about it.

Cleanliness was better than most, room was spotlessly clean as were the grounds, usual issues with odd dirty plates and cutlery, need to check your glasses every time you pick one up as some are filthy.

I would recommend that those people should book an adults only hotel instead as the discrimination we received was disgusting.

The bars, drinks disgusting, very watery and cocktails ready made.

..There was a Spanish offer for the final weekend, the hotel was overun with Spanish people, pushing, shouting, smoking everywhere, screaming at the singer to sing in Spanish only!!!

The no smoking was a bit of a bind being a smoker

There are only 2 smoking areas in the Hotel, one at La Carahuela ( pool & theatre bar & one at the Jardin bar near the Spa, both bars have a side for smokers and one for not, so in my opinion it isn't a problem as I'm a smoker myself.

I hate smoking and there is a designated area down at the bottom bar which in the day time and evening is busy with smokers and very smelly.

Firstly food, the food is poor at best, breakfast the choice is limited mostly undercooked, bread and pastries are stale.

A definite downside was that smokers and vapers gathered outside the front of the hotel by the entrance, so entering or leaving the hotel we had to pass through this unpleasant atmosphere.

brilliant hotel everything spot on went with tui great jane the rep great with help also gary the trip rep what a guy he was .

The staff were always pleasant and helpful and extremely hard working.The evening entertainment was  good and there was various games going on during the day.

Excellent hotel would definitely recommend staff amazing clean rooms lovely bar's it's a brilliant hotel can't find one bad thing to say it's more a 5star than 4 please go and experience food drinks all Day long

First impressions - very good with the staff friendly and efficient - switched us to a lower floor no problem.

The best part of hotel was the cafe bar lovely coffees friendly barmen and we enjoyed Pepes night club The rooms were cleaned regular and comfy beds and pillows

I THINK THIS HOTEL MIGHT HAVE BEEN A FOUR STAR YEARS AGO BUT NEEDS TO MOVE ON NO TOWELS AVALILABLE TO HIRE AROUND POOL AREA BATHROOMS VERY DATED AND SMALL MOST PARTS OF PUBLIC AREAS STINK OF CIGARETTE SMOKE SHOULD BE DELICATED AREAS ONLY EVEN ON THE SOLARIUM ON ROOF STILL SMOKING  ENTERTAINMENT AT NIGHT MOSTLY GEARED UP FOR CHILDREN   JUGGULAR/MAGICAN  ON THE GOOD SIDE THE FOOD WAS GOOD PLENTY TO PICK FROM AND HOT  BEEN TO OTHER SANDOS GROUP HOTELS BUT REALLY THIS ONE NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT FOR UPGRADE

but was a cheap package deal The pool was very small for size of hotel needs a lot of upgrade around it we never sat round there because  no parasols up and was very hot.

Food was lovely.Plenty of choice.Restaurant was very busy and noisy and that wasn't a nice experience.Good choice of snacks available from bar.Didn't use swimming pool area as it was so small and so cramped

but bland so we ate out even on the last night.On the last night we were quite happily playing pool when the the bar staff suddenly turned the volume up to a dangerous level.Everybody lept in the room looking over to the bar area where the bar tender was celebrating a couples love for each other.My hearing got damged that night and I had tinnitus all night.

If you are a sun worshipper then the pool isn't for you as only half the pool gets sunshine all day.

but the pool area was way to crowded but good that they shut of sun beds until certain time so everyone got an equal dibs of sun beds but not enough room by the pool and sometimes got splashed when on sun bed as not enough room but that could’ve been due to it being summer holidays and peak season which is understandable!!

The pool area can get a little hetic as its not very big and you only get the sun at one end.

The sound of "bye bye" will forever be embedded in my brain from the pool bingo game.

The pool area though is chaotic, unless you get there early you won't have room for a sun lounger, also 2 of the days by the pool were very loud some form of entertainment, mixture of elderly Germans, Brexit type British , elderly Spanish and a smattering of other nationalities

I never went to the pool so I can’t comment on this

The pool is too small for so big hotel and when guests use  big inflatables in it or play football that doesn’t let other people to enjoy the pool.

One downside was the pool area, if you were not in the queue by 9am then there is zero chance of getting a bed,especially in the sun as 3/4 of the sunbeds are in the shade by 1pm.

Sunbeds end up 1 ft from edge of pool and not enough room to swing the preverable cat!

The pool isn't big enough for the amount of ppl staying here!

Pool area is very basic and there's not nearly enough space for the amount of people staying at the hotel.

If there was a medical emergency in the pool it would be really difficult for the lifeguard to get to the pool quickly unless they are an Olympic gymnast who could pole vault over the rows of jam packed sun beds.

There are some bars with only one person serving drinks - some AI guests were ordering seven or eight drinks at a time and passing them along to other guests further back in the queue that they'd formed friendships with.

and no sleep Your staff need to learn about what is a safe volume and a dangerous one.This was just so selfish and avoidable.If you have a set of golf clubs the lifts are very small and you could end up waiting on changeover days and having to walk down 6 flight of stairs with your clubs.If you are a active wheelchair user like my wife who was not with me at the time do not go to this hotel the ramp to reception and bar area is good

The layout is not great  so you were constantly in the way of people queing to get drinks or toast.

Such a horrible awkward vibe when people are standing with their towels are 8.45am waiting to try and grab a sunbed before they all go!

Queues for drinks were long due to them only having in general 1 x member of staff serving 

Next the pool area!!!

Be prepared to queue whether it be for food, drinks or for the use of the lifts.

The hotel needs to have a separate still which would halve the queue.

Pool area was not for us as there is people who start lining up and waiting for the chains to be removed.

The glass in the balcony door dislodged from frame an accident waiting to happen  complained

Poor food , We had better food in a 3 star hotel in Benidorm and Why are people queuing to get hot water from a coffee machine for tea, surely there should a separate hot water boiler. 3.

And queues at bar could be improved if adults got kids drinks instead of them queuing on their own.

Drinks believe me you will have to queue only one serving.

but the last two days were totally spoilt .Our last night we ended up in bed by 10pm due to the fact again no seats in either bars or the two seating areas around the reception,the queue for drinks went outside both bars it was ridiculous and again the shouting was so loud it gave you a headache.

Hotel is old and accessibility was a real problem with only 4 lifts and constant queues.

They will literally push you out of the way and walk in front of you in a queue to make sure they get on before you and get a seat.

You can Hear EVERYTHING from EVERYWHERE !

This certainly isn't the hotel for you if you are looking for a quiet break, entertainment is very loud.

Our room was next to an extremely noisy lift!

Pipes were really noisy at night, they bang and crash and make all sorts of weird noises right through the walls.

Unfortunately you can hear all the noise from the coming and goings within the corridor.

Always noise either from background music or lots of children running around.

This suited us as our room was near the stage so you didn't have loud music pounding out till the early hours.

all inclusive guests are intitled to 1 dinner at the “italian” restaurant “la gioconda” we did hear good things about this restaurant so had hope.. as we went in the waiter told us that it is also self service buffet food.. and i must say it is certainly not a italian restaurant… chicken was pink food was cold and the only thing that was hot was vegetable soup.

Staff were brilliant, especially the chambermaid,BUT,if this is a family holiday hotel, why on earth are tribes of 18-30,Yr olds acting like 8 yr olds when drunk, keeping residents awake all night long, also the pool area is too congested along with greedy towel harbouring sunbed OWNERS!

Poor sleep because of no sound proofing in walls,  2.

Not to mention the room I was in.. the noise of it moving up and down non stop throughout the night was like torture.

The biggest let down for us was the noise at night!!

The entertainment at night was never outside was indoors an not the best an way to loud.

Noise late at night from outside and on corridor from guests (shouting, running up and down & doors slamming) Best asking for non pool view and high floor if want undisturbed sleep.

Pool area too small for the volume of guests & a lot of noisy UK & Spanish residents.

most nights groups of guests would be sitting around this area talking loudly till late in the morning.

The staff were great, food was hit or miss.

Can't really fault the staff, cleanliness and food.

All the staff bent over backwards to help.

The staff were amazing all week and made us all feel very welcomed.

Praise for reception , a very clean room with fridge , generous toiletries and for what we paid the food was reasonable quality/choice with efficient restaurant staff and no queuing with the snack bar open late.

The reception was efficient and helpful, we were a few hours early for check in so we were give the all inclusive wrist bands and  a key to a storage area for our luggage and golf clubs.

From the pleasant staff on arrival to the staff in the bars and restaurants the lovely food in the dining room and delicious coffees and drinks in the coffee shop .

The staff were excellent, always very happy and helpful.

Another great holiday fab hotel and truly lovely staff as always been coming every year since 2008 just marvellous our second home so to speak and truly value for money totally recommend this place Magnificent

We also liked the smell and the nice music at the swimming pool, with the very friendly poolboy.

The staff throughout the hotel were all friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home and that nothing was too much trouble.

The location is in the Old Town and overall its a very pleasant and calm hotel with friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Beautiful hotel, very nice kind staff, excellent location, good food.

The main negative point of the room was the bathroom, as it had a horrible smell of dump/stagnating water; this issue must be related to the fact that the rather defective bathtub/shower spilled a lot of water on the floor.

The common areas are really luxurious and you never seem to be far from from greenery and running water.

Got small bottles of water and a chocolate on the bed in the evening.

There was a small Nespresso machine in the room and pods for this and two types of tea bags, although the water would need to be heated thru the Nespresso machine as no kettle provided, Mini Bar in room

This took me a while and when I looked up, Salva had come back with a glass of cold water which honestly was a Godsend.

There was a layer of grime all the way around the edge of the water and the filters were black with dirt.

Only second night were we offered water before bedtime.

In the fridge, there were two 0.33 L water bottles on arrival,

but sadly the bathtub drained VERY slowly, so within 3 minutes you’re ankle deep in tub water that wouldn’t go down.

It’s poor maintenance, especially the bathroom, the staff did not pay much attention to fill up with towels, water etc in the public areas.

A complementary water at the welcoming only.

but water ran down the walls and badly finished sealant at shower screens gave a tired look.

My only complaint is the major design flaw of the shower - the water leaked all over the floor of the bathroom.

Lastly, every time you take a shower the water leaks all over the floor.. not a lot

More still water should be available in rooms at no charge.

Surprisingly for a 5star hotel, there was no bottled water supplied.

But the bathroom is a catastrophy: too dark to see well in the mirror, the water in the sink is not leaving, the water from the shower leaks through the shower stall door, some light bulbs are out of order.

Firstly, for a five star hotel, I would expect bottled water to be complementary and not charged at the minibar.

a white sliced bread ham sandwich, a banana, a bottle of water, some rice cakes and a small piece of fruit cake.

Now onto the biggest joke of the lot 4 euros for water in the room !

My room was right across from the elevator, so it was a little annoying at night because there seemed to be a lot of action in the hall for a while,
