One of the best breakfast buffets I have ever had at a Hotel!

Enjoyed having made to order omelet at breakfast buffet each day.

Room was overwise clean and pleasant and apart from the coffee queues, breakfast was varied and tasty.

3) My room was large by European standards and was clean; 4) Breakfast was good

Buffet breakfast was diverse, and everything was fresh.

Breakfast buffet was delicious with plenty of selection.

We had booked a room with breakfast, so we were excited to see, how the breakfast buffet was.

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and always enjoy the spacious rooms and out of this world delicious breakfast!

Just to say it must be the nice hotel by the river and the breakfast is amazing ,the room I get was massive big with high ceiling and it was good for my little Bella (dog) to run around.

I suggest a sign is put in the executive lounge advertising the gleuwein for €4 till 10pm in English & German or it is offered during exec happy hour at no charge!

though I am an Honors member with Diamond status, I was charged 30 Euros to check in one hour early.

They booked it from our credit card and we thought we’d get it back as usual.

I was  charged for a night that I did not stay.

but unfortunately our friends were assigned to the faraway building and when they got to their room door, the card key wouldn't work so they had to walk all the way back.

This hotel went way above this and charged rate plus €150 deposit than after 2 nights went to my debit card and charged first two nights plus €50 deposit and on check out charged me the balance on the 2nd charge.This is the first time any hotel has gone to my card 3 times.I am still waiting for my first charge to be refunded to me.

but there were still  mistakes in the invoices,  I have sent another email on June 6th but till today received no reaction.

although lacking in USB or US style plugs so remember to pack your converters and adapters to charge your devices.

One down point is the extra charges for WiFi.

but then it is a balance between street noise and temperature.

Apparently they don’t know how to use two cards on file and keep charging everything on one or the other!!

Driveway is ofter blocked by buses and there is an extra charge for breakfast.

They charged me €69 to access my room 1.5 hour earlier and ai am still staying 24 hours and charged me a Breakfast

but also charged for the whole amount for our accomodation/restaurant bill.

This was the only hotel that charged for wi-fi during our trip,

You’ve to pay an extra charge for internet.

Although the prices are at the expected high level for the room service they charge 6 eur extra charge for the service itself besides the bill for the food.

When you try to access they pretend to charge 15€ for the internet access per day.

I hope the management will give him a credit.

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

Friendly staff who do a good job of keeping the quality of the hotel at a high standard all around.

but the menu never varied during my stay; and 5) The staff spoke English and were friendly and accommodating.

Pros:
- Good recognition of Diamond status, was proactively upgraded to a junior suite without needing to 'fight' for us, and also was checked in already at 9 am which was amazing
- Super friendly front-desk staff; we were a little troubling on one of our 2x rooms and they facilitated room changes without fuss
- Breakfast very good, and included for Diamond guests with a wide assortment
- Hotel has a temporary 'lounge'

The staff were helpful and friendly and having an Ice machine is a huge plus for hot summer days.

Staff generally friendly and a special mention to Wolfgang in the bar who was fantastic - a credit to the hotel.

The hotel´s location is perfect since it is a short walk from the Mainz Cathedral and Gutenberg Museum.

The Hilton Mainz is pleasantly located on the bank of the Rhine River and is a relatively short walk to the old town area and the Gutenberg Museum.

The gutenberg museum and churches are in walking distance.

Also less than 10 minutes walking from famous city cathedral and Gutenberg museum.

It is right along the river, which is a nice walk, and close to the old city and Gutenberg Museum there.

we walked to the Gutenberg museum, and lots of incredible shopping is close by.

A very nice walking trail follows the river and the Old Town section of town including the Meinz Cathedral and Gutenberg Museum is within a 10 minute walk.

Be sure to visit the Gutenberg Museum and the Fresh Market on Saturday mornings is a must.

Two main attractions are the Dom and Gutenberg Museum.

We stayed at the Hotel Mainz specifically to visit the Gutenberg Museum and it couldn't have been closer.

The Gutenberg Museum is also walking distance.

Mind you the main building is on the river which is quite nice and it's about a 5 minute walk from the Gutenberg museum and that is a must see.

A English guidebook is a must and can be found in the book store at the Gutenberg Museum across the square from the Mainz Cathedral.

It's only a short walk to many attractions (Gutenberg Museum and the Dom for example), plus it's right on the Rhine.

The Mainz Cathedral and Marketplace and the Gutenberg Museum, as well as shopping and restaurants are all only a short walk away.

The walk to the Mainz Wine Festival and the Gutenberg museum was short.

What kind of hotel makes you stand in a long queue in the lobby for 15 minutes to pay for parking, rather than install functional pay station in the basement?

When confronting the hotel via mail, they sent a scan of a form which said they paid it back it cash when we left - which was not the case - AND they faked my wife’s signature.

Still waiting on our check for our 2 drinks 15 minutes later at 10:30pm, finally paid,

Room service menu is limited and a bit expensive

The rooms feel dated and due to Covid-19 many facilities including making the rooms were limited and food facilities were restricted which made our stay below average while still paying a higher rate than most hotels in the city.

What was really bad: the breakfast. Even under COVID 19-regulations offering some packed cheap cheese and sausages, only a small variety of bread and fruits is nothing to should pay 19 (!)

but that I could have a room if I paid the maximum price of €299, 
I took the room because had no other choice .This is the last time I will ever stay in this hotel that I don't recommand

Breakfast buffet was really expensive for the common traveler,

but expensive if its not in your room rate.

To pay 29 euro (I believe this was the rate) is a bit too much for Mainz particularly when you are a Hilton Member!

even though you paid a taxi full day you have to wait until the vacant position

but to pay $15 per day for WiFi if your not a Hilton Honors member peeved me.

Everything seems to be optimized to lower costs.

What completely spoiled our stay though, was the price of things within the hotel - for example drinks at the bar, or the absolutely ludicrous price of breakfast - €30 per person for a very mediocre and limited buffet.

If can, ask for ariverview room as the views is just amazing, very much worth it.

We received a nice river facing room on the 7th floor.

Of course the Rhine River view from the room was fantastic.

Stayed whilst visiting a trade show in Frankfurt, really nice hotel on the river, checked in really quickly & efficiently,  really nice river view room  with queen size quilts, much better than the standard German 2 single quilts.

Hotel sits right on the Rhine River so half the rooms have a great view.

The river view rooms did actually have beautiful views of the river, especially from our higher level room.

Some of the hotel rooms have a great view of the Rhine river and you can watch passenger boats from the conveniently from your hotel room.

We loved the incredible river view from our room. ..

I highly recommend trying to get a river view room in the main building.

We had a river view room (1610) which offers lovely views.

I would recommend a river view room if one is available.

Hotel is nicely located next to the river offering great views when you have a room facing it.

The room was spacious and the view from the room was stunning.

If you are staying in this hotel, make sure to be in the building that faces the river and of course, try to get the river view room.

The meeting rooms and part of the hotel rooms have great view over the river.

I had a city facing room and with good sound insulation the outside traffic cant be heard.

The view from the room was excellent and unexpected as it was of the Rhine River.

We had a lovely dinner and two buffet breakfasts in their dining room which overlooks the Rhine.

but if you get a river view room on a high floor you will like it.

WIFI keeps dropping and when it does it is difficult to sign back on.

We stay in hotels all over Europe, we never had to pay the last years for internet.

Only critical point is that you have to pay for wifi in the room €15,00 per 24 hours.

My only honest bad comment is about the wifi connection.

The internet is only for free if you are a member of hhonors, otherwise €14,95 a day for wifi, ridiculous!!

Ignorant staff, fooling their guests, run down 80s rooms with a tasteless make over, carpets looking not very tidy, old technology, slow internet, no barrierfree access to parking garage

A place of decline.

The wireless service is horrible, in fact intermittent.

It was the only place in Germany I had to purchase internet access.

On our tour, we stayed at 6 different hotels and the Hilton was the Only one who doesn't care about their guests satisfaction enough to give free wifi!

I had to ask for internet access code everyday and that’s not an easy process.

The only reason it does not get 5 stars is that they do not give free internet through the whole hotel in an effort to extract extra funds or force you to join their club.

My one complaint is that this was the only hotel on our entire tour that did not have free wi-fi.

However: wifi is really bad, service in the bar is inattentive and slow.

The hotel offered no free wifi to non "honour" guests.

Worked with hotel in advance to ensure room arrangements including connecting rooms and a roll away bed.

Have stayed at the Mainz Hyatt several times always in a river view room.The room is very comfortable and well appointed with a huge bathroom.They are cleaned to a high standard.The view of the river makes it a very peaceful experience watching the traffic gently ply their cargo up and down.The breakfast is good and the staff helpful.

Great selections of yogurt,breads and hot meals.

but worth it as it was a full European breakfast.

But the breakfast team is the cherry on top of the cake and will bring the sun and the joie-de-vivre to start off your day! Daviiid!

Special mention to Stella and Theresa in the breakfast service for unparalleled customer service and friendliness.

Breakfast in the morning was excellent on the front patio.

The hotel is clean , fantastic views, AC and Heater working well and a breakfast that will satisfy everyone.

The Bell Pepper restaurant has great breakfast, eggs to order and anything made to your liking.

The breakfast every morning was superb and included champagne for my wife.

As for other features, the breakfast is at the Bellpepper restaurant in the lobby, which is included for Hyatt Globalists.

A few things that deserve special attention: 

-The very best hotel breakfast I have found in Germany, off the bar or made to order as well as the finer side of German products one can ask for (liver sausage, cheese, sausages etc.

The restaurant serves a very well done breakfast buffet with dishes made to order as well as a variety of meats, cheeses, vegetarian dishes and even fresh
orange juice!

The dinners outside in the Bellpepper Restaurant were excellent, very delicious, fresh and they even prepared nice selections for my vegan husband.

My sincere thanks to her and the delicious selection offered to me.

The Club Lounge was very good, with a nice selection of snacks and drinks in the evening, and great service.

Very welcoming staffs, excellent service, nice selection of in room service.

Pleasant walks along the river banks and through the old town of Mainz with its great selection of shops, bars and restaurants.

Excellent hotel in a good in a great location close to the old city.the receptionist was welcoming and courteous.the room was clean large and equipped with every thing.the breakfast was delicious with a great selection.

Room is always clean & cosy, breakfast buffet selection is wide, quality is good.

There was a lovely selection of hot and cold food, including champagne and wines (that was a surprise).

The second morning she remembered what we ordered the day before and knew what selection of muesli we liked.

We had a delicious "surprise menu" in the restaurant during the evening, a wonderful selection at breakfast and a delicious lunch too.

In fact, this hotel smelled of discrimination.

Bathroom was just nasty and in need of some deep cleaning!

First and third room have a very pungent smell of sewage ( room 504 and room 406), the second room we were placed in is the room inwhich the sink was clogged.

Hotel smells of sulfur and air conditioning hard to control.

but after quickly cheking with front desk we were reassigned to a non-smoking room.

as such, I could not leave my window open for fresh air - it was loud and smelly - lots of people would come out to the outdoor seating to smoke.

but I would question the perfume choice of soap and shampoo.

The asked for iron was soiled and couldn't be used.

There was a sewer smell in the elevators when we arrived.

As someone else reviewed, there is a weird sewer smell.

The main issue for us was that there was an odd smell - akin to faint sewage or a blockage in the plumbing.

So everytime I went to the elevator, the whole corridor was smelling like an ashtray, incredible. .

However, the seating arrangement are limited in the smoking area.

I do have a few suggestions to improve the stay: 
The smokers cabin is small and uncomfortable, the bar is large enough to incorporate an enclosed smoking area that does not interfere with the other guests.

The only downside was the less that adequate smokers room.

I have a feeling the traffic can get nasty, so be sure to check with the front desk when planning the trip to make sure you don't end up late for a flight.

It also smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and had a funky rotting garbage smell.

We are not accustomed to that level of cigarettes.

but unfortuantely this one was smaller and my biggest issue was a nasty looking stain on the carpet by the bed.

Although a short duration of stay,my experience was truly remarkable at Hyatt Regency  Mainz.

From the ease of parking to the friendly staff at check in, and the superp room overlooking the river it was just a great experience.

The super-friendly staff turned our visit into a superb experience.

In keeping with the experience from our first stay at Hyatt Regency Mainz, our recent visit was exceptional.

A lovely place to stay for professionals (my experience).

If you like Hyatt Hospitality, this is your home away from home or office on the Rhein.

From the ease of checking in to the wonderful evenings in the bar to the outstanding staff in all aspects, we truly enjoyed our stay.

As an incoming US service member, the hotel and staff were a true pleasure to work with compared to previous experiences back in the states.

While there are limits to some of the hotel's best features, overall, the experience is stil satisfying.

Great view of the river, nice pool, amazing breakfast with lots of options, decent lounge, great friendly service, and a great location.

although I'm certain a river facing room would have been lovely.

Love this hotel - the views of the Rhine, the easy walk to the train station and old town, and the super friendly staff.

Wonderful views of the river with windows that actually open and let in fresh air!

The hotel overlooks the river and is a three  minute walk to Mainz old town.

This hotel takes full advantage of its superb location right on the Rhine River, lodged behind low historic fortress walls, with restaurant and bar terraces offering perfect views over the river and into the Taunus mountains.

We had a beautiful room overlooking the Rhine river, stunning views.

The location is simply perfect with nice views of the Rhine river.

Very good location overlooking the Rhine river, within a short walking distance to the old town.
