but after telling reception of my plight, I was moved to another wonderful venue on the premises.

The property is well located within short driving distance of many areas..like shopping centres, sports fields, filling stations, fast food outlets, etc.

The hotel is clean with the cultural paintings from way back in life.

The hotel has conference facilities and its can accommodate 100 delegates and it offers banqueting services at conference venue and the security for cars is monitored 24 hours by security personnels.

They even had Mrs Balls famous original chutney (a South African favourite of mine).

The staff was also friendly and well trained.

The Hotel is a very nice hotel and breakfast is exceptional

I would not advice anyone planning an internet required workshop to book at the hotel.

I would advise you don't book to include meals and rather have meals at restaurants in vicinity.

I wouldn't book anywhere else when I'm in Mafikeng

The price you are offered has very little to do with market values and is invariable more expensive on the day you want to book in than it is on any other given day.

but the next attempt to then use the card to pay for the meals proved futile as the card was declined for insufficient funds.

but these were resolved by the manager Joe Madiba in a very professional way.

I will stay at the Marriott again because I like their rooms, they have desks and nice amenities.

I think they had switched the coffee station and the desk around.

Amazing experience we had with my Team 👌.

but the two ladies helping us were very pleasant and helpful.

On arrival the staff are willing to assist at all cost.

The service was really good, everyone feels genuinely nice and helpful.

The staff is very professional starting from the security at the gate, receptionist, waiters etc.

The staff in the dining area never made an effort to come to the table whether to offer coffee or even the bill.

The tables looks old, yet the price says something else.

It is near shopping complex where you can tour and see the place.. near Ramatlabama border post as well.

You can access mega city easily when you stay at Protea hotel.There is a mall some few kilometres from the hotel .IT can accommodate even school children for educational tours,nice conference room

Cannot in all honesty recommend this hotel, the management need to up their game.

The establishment is perfectly placed seeing that its in the middle of Mahikeng, a town with limited economic activities.

There is casino for those who like to play games and having fun.

I received a warm welcome from the very friendly staff.

Perfect spot for a business trip, quiet environs to work, friendly crowd and welcoming people.

An absolute basic anywhere in the world.Notwithstanding the lack of training, the staff were very friendly

It is a pity because the hotel makes a good first impression-very friendly and helpful reception staff, impressive buildings and layout, and two stunning pools in a garden

I was welcomed at the hotel and a very friendly gentleman helped me with my luggage to my room.

the front desk staff was friendly welcoming and the process was seamless.

It concerns us as guests to hear terrible retrenchment strategies employed by Palm Management.

But I did not like the fact that the main entrance of the hotel is closed after 10pm & guests have to enter through the casino & the pub entrance.

Personally, I’d rather spend a night in my car in the hotel parking lot than to be exposed to DNA from previous guests!

Maintenance is on their own mission and deactivate cards from locks without notification to guest so having to walk back to reception to reactivate room key.

You have to call someone whilst they stand and converse around clients.

Food was cold and dry both breakfast and supper. Then, get accosted by an employee after leaving dining room shouting, in front of other guests "YOU MUST SIGN YOU BILL!"

Noisy guests don’t help the ambiance either,

This could be done by means of separating the gambling block/casino from the main hotel as in some cases the gambling patrons can be nuisance to the hotel guest due to noise levels.

The only thing that got to me was the noisy guests.

Vast improvement on the "Boerewors the night before which lay in a tomato gravy looking very grey and unappetizing with a few pieces of dried chicken (I pity the guests that had to eat this, 'Eat or Starve' they say!

Guests were merry until late (just past midnight), so getting a good nights rest was near imposible.

As i was about to go look for an ATM i saw another client pay by card with another waitress, the transaction was successful and i then asked to also use the machine, the manager did not seem to know about the alleged card machine issues that the waiter told me they had, as he was not informed!!

and I will never book or recommend my clients here.

How can they allocate a guest to a room like this?

but when I arrived they had messed up our booking (I guess business guests staying for 2 months at a time take preference over guests who are staying for just 4 days) so we were forced to stay at the Mmabatho Palms.

But my advice is avoid both names until the management train their staff in guest relations, common manners and how to cook food and serve people !!!

It will be important to have porters to assist guests to their rooms.

Sadly, I had to remind her that it was the hotel’s responsibility to control inconsiderate and unruly guests to which she agreed.

Parking for hotel & day guests is not separated, go out at night and you have to park at end of lot.

The buffet menu was exactly the same for two lunches and dinners in a row and when I ordered room service because of that I only received half of what was on the room service menu.

At lunch we used the room service menu to order in, an hour later we still hadn't received order or any word.

though the booking is dinner inclusive if I am not feeling like buffet or don't find anything to eat there , they should try and accommodate the order I would like for the day.

At times the facilities are not always in working order and no one seems particularly concerned to get answers.

The meal that I eventually ordered was unpalatable due to the vast amount of garlic in it.

In my last nights say I had waited right up to the dessert round after getting up from my table to get a waiter to take my drink order.

he finally came i tried to order a cocktail and they only had 3 available on the whole list cause they're blender.. their ONE blender was broken.

Ordered tea and coffee with our breakfast, Instant coffee & teacup arrived with a teabag dropped in it.

When the waitress took our order..2 fillet steaks.

We had to sign up to be a winner's circle member in order to receive cash.

After dishing up you have to wait for a while before a waiter comes to take the order for drinks and I got my drink after I finished my dinner, the same happened with my lunch.

Ordered room service, after an hour i called to find out where it was and was told they don't have my order.

Main door not working, sliding door dysfunctional, stale food at the restaurant, poor service from staff.

Not to mention the poor service I received during check out. #Mmabathopalmsmustfall

At the bar there were incidences of poor work relations especially with one of the interns.

Dirty closed pool, no kids entertainment, room maintenance poor (shower not working properly, door & lights malfunction).

Extremely poor welcome from the front desk lady by the name of "Katlego".

The poor man had only been in post a week and give him his due he tried really hard to make amends even offering to up grade our room to a suite.

Cellphone internet reception extremely poor.

However, I had to ask myself if I would recommend this hotel to a friend and I clearly cannot thus the poor rating.

The hotel looks like it has been recently modified with an attractive reception and dining room and refurbished bedrooms (although bathrooms remain dated with poor shower temperature control).

After making a booking for two adults sharing at check in we were allocated an incorrect room.

when we do our booking on the VA26 they ask us if we smoke

I would not mind asking my booking officer to check me in again.

My last stay on the 23rd March 2017 at this hotel was the worst one ever considering that I booked a junior suite!

This was really unecesary and completely avoideable should the hotel have done my reservation corectly.

We booked a table  for 7 adults and two babies, and i had specifically asked for the baby feeding chairs

I booked 6 family deluxe rooms an when we check inn they told us they did not have any family rooms available they were not even interested in assisting us my friend book 3 family rooms an only got 1 family room an that was after they told me they had nothing when we ask for the manager they said that the manager is not a available over weekends

I came with my husband and child and booked a different place the following day so I can finally take a shower and bath my son.

We arrived 1.15, the receptionist didn't bother looking up and eventually I said 'we have a reservation' I got a grunt back.

To book in was a nightmare .. phone get put down in your ears and nobody wants to help you . .

First of all i had to phone in 3 times to get hold of someone in reservations to even make a booking.

As the race started at the hotel we decided to book there.

The hotel is great i can't complain,but i edge the employees to pay attension to small things that i mensioned on the first page of my survey.Otherwise you guys are doing such a great job and im willing to come back

Unless the hotel improve its service starting from reception to the restaurant dont think will ever set my foot there.

Check rooms before letting the guests in, have good maintenance staff before you decide to advertise for special week-end.

I have made some recommendation especially at the front desk.

I was impressed with the hospitality of the staff.

A good hotel with great gardens, good reception area, attractive from the outside.

the receptionist welcomed us and helped us very nice and provided with all information needed.

He promised that he will attend to our table personally as the previous waiter was a trainee.

Disappointed, first night I washed with cold water and the following day there was no water at all.No one notify us in the morning.

but not having hot water is unacceptable.

Unhappy experience, rooms suffered from overall cleanliness, water damp problems.

Small shop in the hotel does not take cards as payment options and does not even sell water or softdrinks.

To have a toilet not flushing and a shower that sprinkles out a view drops of water with varying temperatures at short and regular intervals from extremely hot to ice cold.

The bathing experience was bad, the baths are very thin and the hot water faucet did not work on my last morning.

No hot water at 06:00 in the middle of winter.

The shower had intermittent hot/cold water so you had to keep jumping back to not get burned/frozen.

I stayed for three nights and each day there was something missing - like the bottled water or a  teaspoon for coffee.

Unfortunately the plumbing was not upgraded so taps fall of fin your hand, not enough water pressur ein the mornign while everyone els eis showering - no business work area - no seta ta the table, no 2-pin electric sockets and worst of all, no MTN service at all.

I went around the building to press the buzzer at the reception side's main entrance, and still there was no response.

Great clean rooms, friendly staff an great breakfast.

The staff are friendly and aim to please.

When I went to ask why they were doing things the way they were doing, and the issue of locking guests out to the extent that they would not be available even at times when guests would be desperately in need of their assistance.

Friendly staff and in a very quiet suburb.

Dinner is served in your room, where you need to warm up your food.

Booked into the executive room, I wanted for nothing as I had a neatly manicured garden and a pool to relax in.

A special thanks to Corrie and Marika(im not sure if i have their names correct) ,both were helpful in ensuring the stay was nothing short of comfort.

I have not experienced the hostesses hospitality as stated in earlier reviews of Ikhutse Manor.

The only problem I experienced was that the kitchenette's light was not working - so I could not make a cup of coffee for the night.
