but after telling reception of my plight, I was moved to another wonderful venue on the premises.

The property is well located within short driving distance of many areas..like shopping centres, sports fields, filling stations, fast food outlets, etc.

The hotel is clean with the cultural paintings from way back in life.

The hotel has conference facilities and its can accommodate 100 delegates and it offers banqueting services at conference venue and the security for cars is monitored 24 hours by security personnels.

They even had Mrs Balls famous original chutney (a South African favourite of mine).

The breakfast was good and the amenities were fine.

The Hotel is a very nice hotel and breakfast is exceptional 
All of staff very friendly - would definitely stay again

I met the chef, planned my meals and was fed gorgeous fresh and delicious food.

For breakfast I have the option of toast or toast or toast (I even bring my own Marmite) and for this pleasure they charge you the full buffet rate!!

Similar comments apply to the breakfast service and buffet.

The restaurant is okey, especially the buffets, an expand of vegetarian courses would be great and some more "healthy" things at the breakfast with some toppings for the sandwiches :) But that is just small things.

Please book with breakfast included as it can become costly.

Their breakfast pack is enough and has a little bit something extra for the afternoon as well.

The breakfast definitely set us up for our drive to Lesotho the next day.

The breakfast is first class as are the scones and tea.

The hotel has 3 floor stories with en suite bedrooms with baths and showers, and the hotel it's offer Free access WIFI hotspots area, satellite TV, daily newspaper, it's has in-house restaurant that offers buffet breakfast, a la carte lunch and dinner and one can relax and enjoy their food.

Breakfast was satisfying with sufficient choice on the buffet.

When I noted that I was there for three days and would put the bill on my own credit card, there was a change of heart and they let me in.

but they did not charge us for the missing night.

I was quite disappointed when the hotel charged me R25 for a few slices of bread!

It is 2 days since I left Mafikeng and am still unable to utilise the corporate card, meaning I have to use my personal card for business expenses.

By the following morning Rennies still had not paid, and I was told to pay up or vacate the room.

What pathetic service from an over priced, below par establishment which gets worse every time I go there.

For the amount you pay this disturbance should not occur.

For the high price we paid it was a huge disappointment.

Breakfast at around R190 is over priced and of very poor quality and choice.

The tables looks old, yet the price says something else.

Breakfast was not included in the sky-high price and was not that impressive.

I had called earlier in the day as I was going to arrive at 22h00 and requested the kitchen to prepare me a vegetarian meal.

Guards don’t do anything until asked to reduce the noise levels.

Nor the gent at the car rental desk when we asked where can we go have a meal. ..

Despite repeated requests they were late, some were missing and most were incorrect.

A lot does not work the first time or has to be requested.

On arrival at this hotel, we were told that we should have called to request the early check in.

If you are sitting at the pool after 22h00 you are requested to go to the room rather.

The level of service was acceptable with room for improvement: I have mailed the hotel twice before arrival to request a specific room.

It is near shopping complex where you can tour and see the place.. near Ramatlabama border post as well.

You can access mega city easily when you stay at Protea hotel.There is a mall some few kilometres from the hotel .IT can accommodate even school children for educational tours,nice conference room

Cannot in all honesty recommend this hotel, the management need to up their game.

The establishment is perfectly placed seeing that its in the middle of Mahikeng, a town with limited economic activities.

There is casino for those who like to play games and having fun.

As a regular visitor I am truely dissappointed to see how everything just went downhill at Peermont Mmabatho Palms Two lights in my room were not working, of which was infront of the buildin cupboard, nothing to mount toilet rolls to fixtures and no decaff coffee in room.

however, the basing in the bathroom was blocked.

The only thing I did not like was the bathroom, it needs serious renovations and retrofitting.

Shower leaked through onto the carpet next the bed, tv remote worked with great difficulty, the food preparation requires more effort as well al overall cleanliness, the overall impression was that it was a filthy hotel, would definitely consider other options in Mahikeng.

The tap was leaking, toilet was loose and the aircon kept waking me up at night.

No hand towels in the bathroom, shower head clogged with lime scale, bath tub with permanent stains, grouting on the tiles coming off, balcony full of bird dropping and more.

To have a toilet not flushing and a shower that sprinkles out a view drops of water with varying temperatures at short and regular intervals from extremely hot to ice cold.

Although the place is newly renovated, their bathrooms and some of the items are still old.

Everywhere just filth, in the passage ways, in the rooms, in the bathroom. Disgusting.

The bathrooms 
too, were a disappointment-outdated fittings with a combined bath/shower, never a happy combination.

Tiles around soil pipe of wc broken out and dirty.

After finally getting acces to my room I realised the doorway to the bathroom was not wide enough for my wheelchair - I again had to complain as my travel had specified that I needed a wheelchair accesible room.

Rotten railings, hotel features not working, outdated everything, noizy aircon's, loose fittings in the rooms, mould on the bathroom grout, the list goes on and just generally not what you would expect from a 4 star establishment.

Dirty closed pool, no kids entertainment, room maintenance poor (shower not working properly, door & lights malfunction).

Only problem was that the hotel didnt have amenities and they dont have 24hr room service.

The shower wall and corners had mould like sections.

Shower in the bathroom, only for midgets, my husband is over 6ft and could not fit under the shower.

Good breakfast, and I wouldn't mind to visit this place again

The food that was served at breakfast was to our satisfaction and offered enough options fot us to choose from.

Their breakfast is nice and one is spoiled for choice which is great.

We had a 9 hour drive the next day and being informed that breakfast started at 6.30 this suited us well.

but the food tasted good.The breakfast was perfect.

The food at the restaurant was delicious and the facilities (Bar, swimming pool etc ) were al in good condition.

Breakfast is average, nothing exciting on the buffet and at least the staff were friendly.

During dinner and breakfast waiters and waitress 's services were good and supportive  throughout.

The breakfast was outstanding and rooms very clean and fresh.

The attentive and helpful restaurant staff also did not compensate for the below-average quality of the food available on the buffet, the Al La Carte menu, and at breakfast.

A beautiful hotel in Mafikeng with comfortable queen bed size, clean bedding delicious buffet dinner and breakfast.

Breakfast had a far better selection than the evening 'Buffet'

however lots of flies were around the buffet section and the food was not covered, this made us sceptical on eating the food.

The breakfast was just fine and the hotel has safe parking.

We wanted a quick breakfast before departure

but you need to employ more chefs because we wait for a long time in order to get our breakfast.

I had breakfast & dinner at the Motswedi Terrace and in both instances found the food quality and service to be of a high standard.

Food = excellent; service = average (staff needs training and direct supervision); environment = beautiful; set-up (unhealthy as smoking casino area is too close to reception and not enclosed). Parking = badly arranged (far and mingle residents and day visitors)

It concerns us as guests to hear terrible retrenchment strategies employed by Palm Management.

Receptions taff were unwillign to help and unfriendly and really gave me the impression that I was disturbing them from talking to their friends.

Temperature wasn't constant and sink drains extremely slow.

Noisy guests don’t help the ambiance either,

This could be done by means of separating the gambling block/casino from the main hotel as in some cases the gambling patrons can be nuisance to the hotel guest due to noise levels.

The only thing that got to me was the noisy guests.

My first night was a horrendous experience, the only thing I could eat was 'Stir Fry Cabbage' and 'Pumpkin' I must

1)	No Milk in the Room
2)	TV channels not working – phoned maintenance 3 times and eventually after dinner gave up
3)	Loud door banging the entire night outside which resulted in me not sleeping
4)	Air Con as loud as an airplane motor.

After a long journey driving to get to the hotel, it was the last thing i wanted to hear.

Our room was located on the south side of the hotel - above the restaurant - so it can get noisy

After the smoke, the noise factor was extremely intrusive.

There was noise from around 7pm until 2 am in the morning on a Sunday night.

Air conditioner kept us awake all night, would not switch off, finally found the main switch and turned it off at the wall.

At 9pm I was woken up by 2 staff members delivering those coin like chocolates much to my disappointment

so once again we had to eat in the lounge with a table full of noisy drinkers.

Beds were hard with noisy plastic undercover (mattress cover).

Walls not sound proof, luckily I did not have noisy neighbours and had to be up early.

The air-cons are old and sound like they are powered by jet engines.

The restaurant staff is constantly in clusters talking about dissatisfaction over failure of the company to pay their UIF claims.

No onion rings and no sauce for the steak.

Main door not working, sliding door dysfunctional, stale food at the restaurant, poor service from staff.

They are inattentive in the restaurant and at breakfast there was no coffee.

However when we arrived at the restaurant nothing was ready and after waiting 15 minute.

But I did not like the fact that the main entrance of the hotel is closed after 10pm & guests have to enter through the casino & the pub entrance.

though the booking is dinner inclusive if I am not feeling like buffet or don't find anything to eat there , they should try and accommodate the order I would like for the day.

No information given at all about meal times, where the outlets are etc.

I was told I could only eat in the restaurant.

The food does not qualify to be served to dogs.

Food was cold and dry both breakfast and supper. Then, get accosted by an employee after leaving dining room shouting, in front of other guests "YOU MUST SIGN YOU BILL!"

Meals were tasteless with no presentation.

The dinner menu only had 1 vegetarian main meal which they did not have on the day, so I opted for another dish - and they also didn't have the main part of the second meal.

but on my last day luch was prepared for us into takeaway containers (not sure why), but we took it and ate it at the restuarant.

The worst experience of this restaurant was when i made the booking telephonically, the lady named "Neo" was very playful and did not sound professional at all, for such a big brand this was disappointing, she did not ask relevant questions like what time we would arrive etc, she also sounded bored when i asked her why she was so playful.

The breakfast is buffet and will satisfy even the most fastidious of guests.Overall, I felt  at home away from home.

The breakfast the next morning was also very acceptable good coffin and a small selection of dishes on a buffet style breakfast.

A special thanks to Corrie and Marika(im not sure if i have their names correct) ,both were helpful in ensuring the stay was nothing short of comfort.

When I  book a guesthouse, I look for comfort and some luxurious indulgence in between.
