We got an upgrade for just €40 a night and our room was extremely * spacious , well furnished and with good amenities.

The room was clean, elegant and well maintained.

The staff was exceptional, breakfast was outstanding, location was perfect and the ambiance was super cool.

Vibe and feel of the property was incredibly energetic and welcoming.

Room- we were on the 3rd floor (superior room) I would pay the extra for an exterior room if you can it is worth it.

The room was cozy and pleasant and the staff friendly and helpful - and did not make me feel terrible about not knowing a word of Spanish.

The hotel has a solid, luxurious and lively atmosphere; the best, though, are the bright, friendly and helpful staff.

Having the guest intentionally getting lost among the art pieces and beautiful furniture on the way to the reception was a fun and memorable experience.

The hotel is also beautiful and has lots of hidden corners with quaint decor.

Premium rooms $$$ and so worth the splurge:  pristine and thoughtfully appointed; gracious, helpful staff throughout; hopping bar scene; interesting pottery store near registration desk; fun delish local restaurant kitty corner out the front door; easy walk to everything.

The location is ideal for getting around the city and it is surrounded by a variety of bars and restaurants.

I loved the layout of the room,the super attentive staff,the lounge areas and the architecture of the building, located perfectly with walking distance to the events I had planned.

The location in central Madrid is perfect--lots of shops, bars, restaurants, museums, and parks in the area.

Breakfast was pretty good and diverse and Alex and the bar team makes cracking cocktails and drinks with nice complimentary snacks too.

The hotel's neighborhood was central to many places to eat and shop.

The restaurants are good too delicious food and they take very good care of you.

The reception staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, they booked us tickets, gave us really good recommendations for meals and were fabulous with directions.

And the building is quite lovely, with several places to eat.

We expected to make far more use of the metro than we needed to (we were pretty much walking distance to everything), with great places to eat in every direction.

The hotel is close to restaurants, museums and other major landmarks.

Very good experience,  the staff were incredibly friendly & helpful even leaving us a special gift in the room for my 5 year old son!

And a corkscrew in the room, rather than having to ask the bar to come up with one, would be good too.

The rooms are so beautiful especially the terraces.

We had an interior room that was fabulous- comfortable and well appointed.

We had a lovely stay, from the greeting on arrival (thanks Christina), the breakfast team, the bar team and the efficient room cleaning team.

Our room (403) was spacious, except for the bathroom, which was quite tight.

We were super welcomed by the people at the reception and the rooms were very nice and clean on arrival.

but the size was still great--some room for practicing yoga.

The service was outstanding and rooms were really nice.

the room is too small to move around, the bathroom is too big in proportion to the room (faulty interior design),
No complementary water (unacceptable given the standard and rate of the hotel), cheap nescafé coffee sachets (what kind of decent boutique hotel does not have nespresso machines in-room - they cost nothing these days!

but the room had only a small 2ft x 4 ft window.

Our room was very small - even by city centre standards.

While the rooms are small, the size is what you'd expect in a city centre hotel and the space has been very thoughtfully designed so you still get a comfortable experience.

The location puts you near Puerta del Sol and within striking distance of the Prado and nearly everything you’d want to see.

This hotel is charming and in a perfect location for walking and evening Paseo  The room was comfortable and I loved the breakfast in the restaurant in the mornings.

I loved everything about this hotel, from location steps away from Puerta del Sol.

Let’s start with the great location between Real Palacio and Prado, which is the primary reason I picked this hotel.

We love the location, rooms, and overall vibe of this place.

The location is absolutely terrific, right on the corner of Plaza de Santo Domingo and 2 minutes walk up to Plaza del Callao.

Beautiful, classic building, near Santo Domingo Plaza, Gran Vía, San Miguel Mercado, and many other places to visit.

However, the room probably was quieter than a room facing the plaza.

The hotel is very close to the Santo Domingo metro stop (line 2) and a 5-10-minute walk to the Plaza de Espanza stop (line 10).

We were able to walk everywhere, the sites, shops and very close to PLAZA ESPAÑA – GRAN VÍA –PUERTA DEL SOL, PLAZA MAYOR etc. etc.

Hotel is well located beside Plaza del Callao on Gran Via, one of Madrid's main shopping streets.

It’s located right off the Plaza Santo Domingo near the Callao metro stop in a big shopping district.

It's a matter of minutes to walk to the Gran Via, Plaza del Callao and we walked to the Royal Palace in about 15 minutes.

The hotel is about as centrally located as you can get - a short walk to the Gran Via, and a couple of blocks to Plaza del Callao and a few more down to Puerta del Sol, and there are many restaurants, breakfast places and tapas bars all over the area.

Our rooms was lovely we had a balcony with view of the plaza.

The location was great for us - lively area with restaurants every 50 feet, walking distance to the Palacio (10 mins), Plaza Mayor (less than 10), Puerto del Sol, Prado (20 mins), etc. etc.

The hotel is also well situated within walking distance to plaza del sol and plaza mayor.

And, there are a lot of restaurants in the neighborhood if you don't want to do the five minute walk to the Plaza Mayor (old town), or to the palace.

Plaza Mayor and Palacio Real are within walking distance as well.

Hotel was conveniently located near Plaza Mayor, Prado, and the royal palace.

We went for a stroll and ended up at Plaza Mayor and San Miguel market where we had a bit of lunch.

The location of this hotel was perfect, being just a short walk to the centre of Madrid -- Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor.

The location is excellent being on a pedestrian street just a short walk away from Gran Via, Plaza Mayor and Puerto del Sol.

We had no trouble walking to great flamenco, the cave bars, Plaza Mayor and more.

Walking distance to museo de prado and reina Sophia museum, plaza de sol and plaza mayor.

It is within easy walking distance of the Mercado San Miguel and the Plaza Mayor as well as other interesting parts of the city.

It is close to the Palacio Real and Plaza Mayor.

Our room was delightful, smartly decorated, and reasonably large and well laid out, as was the bathroom (with tub).The hotel is really well located, just 2 blocks from the Puerta Del Sol and the Plaza Mayor, and 12-13 minute walk to the Palacio Real, a must see by the way.The most important factor in our joyful stay was that the room was extremely quiet.

We also had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant on site, Cafe Varela.

One evening we had tapas at the restaurant, also good.

The restaurant has something for everyone, and the wait staff are used to non-Spanish speaking guests.

The Hotel restaurant, “Cafe Varela”, serves amazing fish.

Lots of restaurants on the block if you don’t want to go far,

The staff were very helpful- booked tours and taxis for us, and suggested restaurants- the room was modern and comfortable, and we loved the daily breakfast at Cafe Varelas.

The rooms were very nice, and the restaurant was outstanding.

The surrounding area is wonderful - full of great restaurants and shops.

Even ordering room service so we could dine on the patio while enjoying the fantastic view!

I had dinner in there one night, it was good.

We booked on a room only basis, and ate out for breakfasts and evening meals (lots of local options, Vinitus on Gran Via for breakfast, and Trattoria Malatesta for dinner).

The rooms are comfortable and quiet - so much so we slept in until almist 10am one morning.

My room was very quiet, on the fifth floor.

Front desk staff apologized and called around to find me a room at a nearby hotel for 440 euro per night.

We booked a deluxe room and a premium room in advance.

This was the nicest, most appointed room and bathroom that we stayed in our entire trip.

Little details in the room like USB adapters you can use instead of using an adapter for EU outlets.

The “room” you walk through to get to the bedroom had a decent size couch and a large TV, which we did not use,

I went exploring and came back at 12:30 and they had my room ready.

Very good breakfast, clean spacious room, nice big bathroom and great location. Downsides.

The staff is very helpful and the breakfast (included in our room rate) was very good in the attached cafe.

The room was small, and it wasn’t fancy,

The rooms are a little bit small for a four star

Slightly disappointed in our “premier room” which was small and nothing like the website photos.

I looked into other queen rooms, when they were open for cleaning, and they were  just a small room with a small bathroom.

however, the room was small and we could not open the window/door as the noise from the reconstruction and other street noise was too loud.The coffee supplied in the room was packets of freeze dried (ugh!).

And the staff was fabulous- helpful in every way.

Staff very professional and helpful, highly recommend!

They arranged cabs for us and were always available to answer questions.

Great staff (they had to work hard because we have no Spanish and staff was  awesome helping us order)   Go there.

I’d you need a taxi, get with the front desk and they’ll order you one.

Upon check in, we were greeted by a snobby duo and were treated like we weren't welcome.

The front desk, especially Manuel was very helpful.

but she was unconcerned which was a surprise.

Service is excellent from the maid cleaning the room, to the front office checking you in, special mention to Bon, Filipino front desk clerk was very welcoming.

A desk clerk came up and was surprised that it really wasn’t working instead of us not figuring the bizarre switch lighting combinations that seemed to be a “feature” in so many European hotels.
