It was a good thing as you need to make a daily reservation and sometimes they are booked when you want to have your breakfast.

Breakfast is by far the most important meal of the day and not having breakfast totally ruins the day.

Typical Spanish options as well as some of the usual 'continental' ones.

Breakfast gave a choice of hot dishes as well as the buffet and there was no limit to how much you could have and the waiting staff were friendly.

Just opposite the hotel is Starbucks with good breakfast variety just half price the hotel breakfast.

We didn’t eat at the hotel because there was so much variety just outside … highly recommend La Sirena Verde just up the road for breakfast and excellent paella for dinner.

I recommend purchasing the breakfast with your stay.

but the free buffet would be suffice for most.

A great location for a mini break in Madrid, breakfast has good variety too.

We went to the rooftop and the view is amazing, we didn't use the pool because it was too cold.

The pool is small, just enough to dip in.

Few, small common spaces, tiny pool, looks great in photos though.

Only downside was that the pool is a small plunge pool that was freezing cold, and we couldn’t access it on the day we had hoped due to maintenance works.

On the last morning I had to leave before breakfast time, so the staff organised a picnic I could take with me.

but we really loved the option of buffet at this hotel in the mornings.

Breakfast had a good variety and was very fresh.

The breakfast buffet, to my memory, was more limited in variety than in the past.

The hotel breakfast was nicely appointed and there is also a Terrace for relaxing with cocktails on the weekend.

One thing I’d really like to commend are the ladies and gents in the Breakfast area.

The breakfast was decent with sausage, eggs, potatoes, fruits, cereal, etc.

The breakfast choice was good and the lady in charge of the breakfast shared her knowledge on how to get to places, we wanted to go to El Escorial.

Ours had a large living room with couch, small kitchen with stove top and fridge, small table for eating, separately bedroom and large bathroom.

There was a kitchen area, large living/dining room with a pull-out queen bed, and a bedroom with a king-sized bed.

We had a large suite with a very comfortable bedroom, large living room, great bathroom and a kitchenette.

Nice size living room to go along with your bedroom.

The heating and air-conditioning is good, TV in living room and another smaller one in the bedroom.

but the bedroom and living room both had Flat panels set up for your viewing pleasure.

It is  clean and well-maintained from the spacious living room, front desk, the suite, the cafe.

My toddler son stayed with me so the hotel added an extra bed in the living room, they upgraded us to two suites and both were excellent rooms.

The kids slept on separate pull-out beds in the living room.

The kitchen and frig are life savers plus the bedroom separate from the living room rocks!

We have the one bedroom suite : one queen size bed at bedroom, and they placed two single beds at the living room, great for family.

Spacious living room, dining area, bedroom and washroom.

We also had a view of the Royal Palace from our living room.

There is a full kitchen, big bathroom and bedroom and huge living room, with a view of the Palace from the front.

Living room had sofa bed and rollaway bed set-up upon our arrival.

We had booked a suite (room 55) with a nice view of the palace - The room is beautifully done up and large enough for a family of 4, with a separate bedroom for the couple, and the boys beds placed in the living room.

The staff (hi Dino) were so friendly, helpful, polite and professional, and they suggested that we put a bed in the living room area of the apartment which meant that we both had our own space.

The location of the hotel was great - within walking distance from the train station, rooftop view of the palace is beautiful.

Lovely hotel in central Madrid we had a room on the 7th floor overlooking the palace, room was very comfortable with a small kitchenette which was useful for making hot drinks and more importantly for chilling the wine.

Rooms are equipped with a small kitchen, including microwave, utensils and a washing-up kit.

The small kitchenette made it great for my family as well.

It was nice to have a small refrigerator and a microwave.

The room was huge with very large bathroom, a kitchenette (large sink, small fridge, a kettle, a stovetop, dishes and utensils), a dining area and a balcony.

The rooms are modern and you get a small kitchenette if you fancy fixing your own breakfast.

but upon entry we found the overwhelming odor of cigarette smoke, despite clear signage that no smoking was allowed.

The suite had a bit of a musky smell and we couldn’t open the blinds because the window faced the elevator shaft.

Only things we noticed was ac did not seem to work and there was a drain smell,

Towels smelled a bit funny—I think they might have been washed in vinegar to keep them white?

Only slight issue with noise from apartment from above kids running up and down making a hell of a noise and smell of cigarette smoke filled our apartment lounge through the heating duct every night- pretty sure all apartments are No smoking so someone was being disrespectful to others in the building.

though they had some odd plumbing problem that caused my first room to smell terrible (another reason I had to change rooms).

Unfortunately, the upgraded room was a bit dusty and smelled a bit stale.

The only problem is an aftershave like smell, in the lobby.

Unless you wanted your clothes to smell like cigarettes, using the self service laundry wasn't really practical.

but note that smokers are significantly higher in Spain than in other European countries.

I had to open the window a few nights to get some air and then of course it was a bit noisy by morning (also caused light to shine in very early) and I smelled meat cooking for some reason.

Also the room had a really really bad sewage smell when we first arrived.

We walked to Puerta del Sol and Paseo del Prado without much sweat.

Bath was every time clean: without another's hair, fungus or nasty sewage smell.

When we talked to some other guests in lobby, they told us that there was some odor in their room,

Yet our bedroom faced a very small light well, there was a constant unpleasant odor which did not really make it a place we wanted to relax in.

Unfortunately, this led to an awful chemical/off-gassing smell within the hallway.

As far as we could tell, the Sabitini Gardens of the Palace were not open, certainly the stairs directly across from the hotel were closed.

Just a note that the lifts are a bit small and it's weird and inconvenient that there's a stair for getting to the lift from the reception.

Dragging suitcases up some stairs to the reception can be avoided by leaving them next to an elevator at the street level; there was an obscure sign to that effect that we failed to notice.

We were escorted to an elevator that took us half a floor above the lobby and then walked down stairs to the desk.

The reception area is not at street level, so you have to wheel your bags up a ramp and then up stairs to get to the lifts to go to the rooms.

You can cross the street and enter directly the Jardines de Sabatini by climbing up a series of stairs and then from there head towards the Royal Palace, Cathedral and Opera House.

The stairs in front of the hotel entrance and the elevators required some efforts to move your luggage.

Just walk up the way you drove down to avoid a maze of stairs and hallways.

After you have checked in, you need to lug you luggage up a short bit of stairs - terrible for heavy suitcases - with NO help from the hotel, before you get to the elevator to get to your room.

4) there are a few stepls to get to the elavators and becomes difficult with heavy luggage without a dedicated bell desk.5) the frequency of the elevators is very bad they are only 2 elevators and had to wait ages ,although we were on the first floor we could have taken the stairs (couldn't figure out where they were I guess our fault) .

but there are stairs that go to the elalevator and no one offered to help withe our luggage.

They didn't have any rooms on the 4th floor and I ended up with one on the 5th, not ideal, especially when you had been out walking for a while a climb up stairs was the last thing I needed.

It is true that there are about ten stairs to negotiate from the lobby to the elevators, and we do not travel lightly,

No place is perfect, and the *only* minor issue with this place is that there is a set of stairs without a ramp for strollers.

The hotel lobby is small and there are several small sets of stairs to traverse to the elevators, again small by US norms.

Double glazed windows were super effective in keeping road noise out during the day.

Unfortunately the balcony was overlooking the main street whose traffic was noisy

but at the expense of really loud street noise from outside - not very comfortable.

There is a small balcony that overlooks the street,  With the door closed we  do not hear any street noise.

My only advice would be if you are a light sleeper, request a room away from the street because it is a busy street and gets noisy.

Tip number one: the hotel is on a very busy and noisy road so ask for a room at the back (we were initially placed in a room at the front on the first floor (or second if you're American)

The only down side was the street noise at night (traffic and revellers)

The rooms at the front of the hotel do suffer from road noise.

The hotel is on a major road so it is noisy at the front with the window open.

The only drawback was the location, by a very busy, noisy road.

but they are over a very busy road so there is some street noise.

We were on the 4th floor and did not hear any street noise that you would expect in a major city and despite what I saw in a prior review, the air conditioning worked perfectly and we actually had to turn it off at one point because it was too cold.

although the view was not great, it was very peaceful - especially as the hotel is situated on a very busy, noisy road.

The room was facing the back of the building so there were no traffic noise from the street.

The only one slight complaint was that the room faced on to a very busy main road which was really noisy at night.

The hotel is one of the best airport hotels anywhere in the world I have stayed at.

Hôtel perfectly located near Barajas airport, the shuttle service is convenient and run from 5:00 am with a 30 minutes cadence (10 minutes form airport
To the hotel).

Shuttle bus between hotel and Airport worked well.
