It was a good thing as you need to make a daily reservation and sometimes they are booked when you want to have your breakfast.

Breakfast is by far the most important meal of the day and not having breakfast totally ruins the day.

Typical Spanish options as well as some of the usual 'continental' ones.

Breakfast gave a choice of hot dishes as well as the buffet and there was no limit to how much you could have and the waiting staff were friendly.

Just opposite the hotel is Starbucks with good breakfast variety just half price the hotel breakfast.

We didn’t eat at the hotel because there was so much variety just outside … highly recommend La Sirena Verde just up the road for breakfast and excellent paella for dinner.

I recommend purchasing the breakfast with your stay.

but the free buffet would be suffice for most.

A great location for a mini break in Madrid, breakfast has good variety too.

The breakfast was delicious with beautiful views of Madrid.

All hotel facilities were lovely, great breakfast (included), staff were friendly and helpful.

On the last morning I had to leave before breakfast time, so the staff organised a picnic I could take with me.

but we really loved the option of buffet at this hotel in the mornings.

Breakfast had a good variety and was very fresh.

The breakfast buffet, to my memory, was more limited in variety than in the past.

The hotel breakfast was nicely appointed and there is also a Terrace for relaxing with cocktails on the weekend.

One thing I’d really like to commend are the ladies and gents in the Breakfast area.

The breakfast was decent with sausage, eggs, potatoes, fruits, cereal, etc.

The breakfast choice was good and the lady in charge of the breakfast shared her knowledge on how to get to places, we wanted to go to El Escorial.

We will stay here when we are able to travel again and hope staff here stay healthy and safe.

but upon entry we found the overwhelming odor of cigarette smoke, despite clear signage that no smoking was allowed.

The suite had a bit of a musky smell and we couldn’t open the blinds because the window faced the elevator shaft.

Only things we noticed was ac did not seem to work and there was a drain smell,

Towels smelled a bit funny—I think they might have been washed in vinegar to keep them white?

Only slight issue with noise from apartment from above kids running up and down making a hell of a noise and smell of cigarette smoke filled our apartment lounge through the heating duct every night- pretty sure all apartments are No smoking so someone was being disrespectful to others in the building.

though they had some odd plumbing problem that caused my first room to smell terrible (another reason I had to change rooms).

Unfortunately, the upgraded room was a bit dusty and smelled a bit stale.

The only problem is an aftershave like smell, in the lobby.

Unless you wanted your clothes to smell like cigarettes, using the self service laundry wasn't really practical.

but note that smokers are significantly higher in Spain than in other European countries.

I had to open the window a few nights to get some air and then of course it was a bit noisy by morning (also caused light to shine in very early) and I smelled meat cooking for some reason.

Also the room had a really really bad sewage smell when we first arrived.

We walked to Puerta del Sol and Paseo del Prado without much sweat.

Bath was every time clean: without another's hair, fungus or nasty sewage smell.

When we talked to some other guests in lobby, they told us that there was some odor in their room,

Yet our bedroom faced a very small light well, there was a constant unpleasant odor which did not really make it a place we wanted to relax in.

Unfortunately, this led to an awful chemical/off-gassing smell within the hallway.

As far as we could tell, the Sabitini Gardens of the Palace were not open, certainly the stairs directly across from the hotel were closed.

Just a note that the lifts are a bit small and it's weird and inconvenient that there's a stair for getting to the lift from the reception.

Dragging suitcases up some stairs to the reception can be avoided by leaving them next to an elevator at the street level; there was an obscure sign to that effect that we failed to notice.

We were escorted to an elevator that took us half a floor above the lobby and then walked down stairs to the desk.

The reception area is not at street level, so you have to wheel your bags up a ramp and then up stairs to get to the lifts to go to the rooms.

You can cross the street and enter directly the Jardines de Sabatini by climbing up a series of stairs and then from there head towards the Royal Palace, Cathedral and Opera House.

The stairs in front of the hotel entrance and the elevators required some efforts to move your luggage.

Just walk up the way you drove down to avoid a maze of stairs and hallways.

After you have checked in, you need to lug you luggage up a short bit of stairs - terrible for heavy suitcases - with NO help from the hotel, before you get to the elevator to get to your room.

4) there are a few stepls to get to the elavators and becomes difficult with heavy luggage without a dedicated bell desk.5) the frequency of the elevators is very bad they are only 2 elevators and had to wait ages ,although we were on the first floor we could have taken the stairs (couldn't figure out where they were I guess our fault) .

but there are stairs that go to the elalevator and no one offered to help withe our luggage.

They didn't have any rooms on the 4th floor and I ended up with one on the 5th, not ideal, especially when you had been out walking for a while a climb up stairs was the last thing I needed.

It is true that there are about ten stairs to negotiate from the lobby to the elevators, and we do not travel lightly,

No place is perfect, and the *only* minor issue with this place is that there is a set of stairs without a ramp for strollers.

The hotel lobby is small and there are several small sets of stairs to traverse to the elevators, again small by US norms.

Double glazed windows were super effective in keeping road noise out during the day.

Unfortunately the balcony was overlooking the main street whose traffic was noisy

but at the expense of really loud street noise from outside - not very comfortable.

There is a small balcony that overlooks the street,  With the door closed we  do not hear any street noise.

My only advice would be if you are a light sleeper, request a room away from the street because it is a busy street and gets noisy.

Tip number one: the hotel is on a very busy and noisy road so ask for a room at the back (we were initially placed in a room at the front on the first floor (or second if you're American)

The only down side was the street noise at night (traffic and revellers)

The rooms at the front of the hotel do suffer from road noise.

The hotel is on a major road so it is noisy at the front with the window open.

The only drawback was the location, by a very busy, noisy road.

but they are over a very busy road so there is some street noise.

We were on the 4th floor and did not hear any street noise that you would expect in a major city and despite what I saw in a prior review, the air conditioning worked perfectly and we actually had to turn it off at one point because it was too cold.

although the view was not great, it was very peaceful - especially as the hotel is situated on a very busy, noisy road.

The room was facing the back of the building so there were no traffic noise from the street.

The only one slight complaint was that the room faced on to a very busy main road which was really noisy at night.

We very much appreciated the warm friendly service, the delicious meal, and the very comfortable bed.

The breakfast buffet has many choices and it starts at 6am.

The breakfast buffet is very good and opens early enough for morning flights.

There was no recognition of elite status on this stay (beyond a thank you for being Gold and enjoy your free breakfast - which was paid in my rate anyway).

We opted for breakfast at the hotel each morning for convenience and it was absolutely worth the very reasonable cost.

The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was very good.

(5) The Hilton Airport Shuttle was in front of the hotel, about a 1 minute walk from breakfast.

The pool as well, so both were closed for my whole stay, 
I called around 7:50pm after going for a run in the cold due to no gym and I asked the front desk person if they could just don’t charge me the early check in due to having no pool or gym available for the whole day,
He said he understands it’s fair

Madrid weather in July is brutal and having no AC in your hotel room is a complete offense from whoever is in charge of this Hilton hotel is A COMPLETE DISASTER!

The front desk attendant also shared the tip that we could park outside in the front of the hotel for no charge if we didn't mind not being in the covered parking area (which would have been about E14/day).

Furthermore, there are no where to charge your the phone close to the bed.

Arrived to be told no executive lounge, had credit card blocked for same amount as paid, staff did not reverse it, had to wait a week.

There was 1 receptionist on duty and she was obviously not well trained, as she couldn’t even work the credit card machine!

Maybe Hilton could enter the 21st century and offer a digital key, or have a card key waiting for guests who checked in digitally to pick up on arrival?

Firstly you have to buy a card for €2.50.

I emailed the woman in charge, NATALIA SANCHEZ, and she was snotty, flippant, and basically rude.

The hotel staff refused to pack a breakfast box (even tho breakfast was included in the price of my hotel room) stating that there is an extra charge because the box needs to be brought to my door.

I suggest customer to be aware of the terms of cancellation Hilton impose, I cancelled my reservation as soon as I could ought to an over booking occurred in New York, as a result they charged me the entire night without understanding the circumstances and see the real evidences that I wasn’t able to reach the hotel that night.

but that is another story), and for this i was charged a heavy 15.euros!!

I actually emailed the Hilton Corp office and even after all of that, no response from this hotel and they must be suffering so bad for business they made sure I was charged 2 of 3 nights booked, even after dealing with the rude staff and Dirty, borderline disgusting rooms they got their money.

though I think basic wi-fi should be free (not charged).

)Lastly, I had some packages delivered to me during my stay and unfortunately was met with a puzzling lack of awareness of where they were, who signed and what happened to them.Overall, the rate I was charged (corporate event) was exorbitant based on the service and "luxury" accommodations you would expect - and ended up canceling my return-reservation visit the following week for something more central (and "robust") in the city.

So hotel could not be better positioned (one way metro journey €2 plus €2.50 for the card)

I guess they figure they have you hostage, so they can charge what they want.

I asked for a rate reduction given the issues, and was informed that they couldn’t because I hadn’t given them the opportunity to fix the problems.

Many have complained about the cost of food, etc.,

This is definitely a horrible experience and this Hilton lack of basic standards 

Let’s also mentioned that I PAID for an upgrade even being a silver member
Room 604 needs some work done, chipped tables, and the floor is a mess near the balcony door.

but were disappointing and not worth the prices.

Did not eat breakfast there as it was expensive.

Weekday night was double the price of weekend night.

As far as I am aware, corporate rates do no preclude elite benefits so this was disappointing.

but I had better breakfasts included in hotel price at stays in the UK just days after, so perhaps not worth the additional 20 Euros per person.

Downside I think the restaurant was expensive and the family rooms were fairly pricey,

Food in the restaurant was expensive and rather average.

but the upcharge was relatively small compared to the nominal price of the one-bedroom: I requested paid upgrade if available, and that was what we got.

So don't pay extra for the executive floor if you are coming in late.

We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was a little expensive compared to meals during our travel,

although had paid for the executive room, not an upgrade.

but the room service was overpriced and mediocre.

but this had not been registered properly and reception, once again got it wrong, so I had to show the waiter my booking details to prove that I had already paid.

Breakfast was the best of the 3 hotels we stayed in during our Spain visit.

The staff were very helpful- booked tours and taxis for us, and suggested restaurants- the room was modern and comfortable, and we loved the daily breakfast at Cafe Varelas.

Beautiful, clean, and comfortable hotel, helpful front desk staff, and the breakfast buffet was fabulous.

This hotel is charming and in a perfect location for walking and evening Paseo  The room was comfortable and I loved the breakfast in the restaurant in the mornings.

Positives: Good location within easy walking distance to the Royal Palace and other sights, fun area with several restaurants, and a great breakfast buffet.

It’s perfectly located, surrounded by restaurants, and has a great restaurant attached where the included breakfast buffet is great.

We booked on a room only basis, and ate out for breakfasts and evening meals (lots of local options, Vinitus on Gran Via for breakfast, and Trattoria Malatesta for dinner).

I looked into other queen rooms, when they were open for cleaning, and they were  just a small room with a small bathroom.

however, the room was small and we could not open the window/door as the noise from the reconstruction and other street noise was too loud.The coffee supplied in the room was packets of freeze dried (ugh!).

Breakfast was pretty good and diverse and Alex and the bar team makes cracking cocktails and drinks with nice complimentary snacks too.

Great breakfasts with healthy options like chia pudding and açaí bowls.

And they do the best European breakfast I think I've ever had.

Food is delicious with the option of all day breakfast.

Breakfast was terrific, with a decent variety of fresh and high quality cheese, meat, bread, pastries, fruits, freshly made eggs, etc.

The staff was exceptional, breakfast was outstanding, location was perfect and the ambiance was super cool.

You can order hot food which we did once, is breakfast worth the extra cost?

We had a lovely stay, from the greeting on arrival (thanks Christina), the breakfast team, the bar team and the efficient room cleaning team.

but the room had only a small 2ft x 4 ft window.

Our room was very small - even by city centre standards.

While the rooms are small, the size is what you'd expect in a city centre hotel and the space has been very thoughtfully designed so you still get a comfortable experience.

We had a really pleasant time at Only You Achota: the staff is exceptionally friendly and the check-in at night time was very smooth, the breakfast is exceptional, very nice room with very comfortable bed and balcony- and good location not far from the train station

The Good: 
- The hotel lobby is really well design very eye catching
- The breakfast was very nice with some local touch with great presentation
- The room is average size with a nice table to work at.

A superb breakfast with super staff, beautiful restaurant, marvelous food.

Kelly’s eggs at breakfast were amazing, the food and drink in the hotel was fantastic

The breakfast had a wide range of options and everything was delicious.

We loved the views from the roof top restaurant/bar and the breakfast was so good.

but with peaceful and comfortable rooms, a great rooftop breakfast area, and friendly staff, this was a winning choice for us.
