being located in the centre of Presquille, everything was close within proximity of walking distance.

but it was beautifully and stylishly appointed, had a comfortable bed and a sparklingly clean bathroom.

but it was a cozy with an access (doubled glass) to the little balcony.

We booked 2 rooms (traveling with a 16yr old teen), the Cozy room has a bath tub/shower while the Cocoon Room only has a shower which is good enough for us.

Nicely situated, this hotel is  elegantly tricked out in red and smells wonderful.

When we stayed, an extremely attentive staff, beautiful, immaculate room, stunning architectural details (including the art deco elevator) and a perfect location just a block away from Rue de la Republique and very close walking distance to multiple fabulous bouchons.

Stunning interior architecture and fittings, excellent room and breakfast – a great hotel.

Lodgings here will make one see red, as the classical late 19th century structure was last renovated (2013) in moden style with that bold color everywhere.

It is walking distance to so many things including Vieux Lyon (~5 min) and the art museum (15 min).

but comfortable room was well appointed, charmingly decorated, and the large bathroom was a plus.

And our room was spacious with lots of character and charm.

Good sides are excellent location, friendly staff, nice bedding, excellent breakfast, cozy room.

Our room - a standard double (210) was clean, well designed and modern.

It must have been recently renovated as the decor is clean and crisp.

I had prepaid for breakfast and was able to eat it in the room each morning (for no extra charge).

The menu is quite extensive and good quality snd quantity….

Pleasant and helpful staff who will book restaurants, room, a classic double, was very quiet.

Not only did she recommend a great local restaurant for a Saturday night

however the staff here were wonderful and remembered our order each time we sat for a pre dinner drink.

The food snacks available on room service were also very good.

but best to grab a croissant and coffee elsewhere and have a hearty lunch later, like the French do, IMO.

When asked about restaurants he happily gave us some tips & he even booked us in one of the bouchon in the square and one of the restaurants in the old town.

There are many restaurants nearby, & Vieux-Lyon (the old town) is about 20 minutes away across a pedestrian bridge.

And, the staff is very helpful and guided us to two fantastic restaurants for dinners.

We chose to have breakfast served in the room and the meal was enjoyed on the balcony.

The room was good size, clean with a comfortable bed.

The room was spacious and comfortable and the linens and bed were all top quality.

From the moment we were dropped off till the moment we ubered away it was by far one of the most satisfying of stays…the front desk starting with Sandi and another great young man who helped with reservations were just awesome… welcoming professional and always smiling… the others we came across there were equally kind and always helpful…we had a suite which was spectacular with a large balcony overlooking the square, highly recommend, and extremely accessible to the morning breakfast room which is another +++….

The hotel reception area is so welcoming and the staff there, in the breakfasting room and in the bar area were amazing and so helpful.

The room has a blackout drapes and very quiet and super comfy.

Stayed in a Junior Suite - room and toilet area are generally clean.

So busy and such a tiny room that they put you in another meeting room, not very nice or romantic.

For American standards,  room is small,  and way too expensive for what you get,  being 4 stars.

The staff were all friendly and polite and spoke good English.

Arrived at the hotel around 9am, thinking to just drop the luggage since it is too for the check-in, to my surprise, the F/O staff checked me in, I even got an upgrade.

That staff was very energetic and always trying to please….

Can't relate to the previous comments about disorganized staff as we found them to be super solicitous.

A young gentleman parked the car for us (and he surprisingly brought it in the morning in front of the hotel before I thought of asking him to do it) and we were treated very kindly and professionally throughout the very short (unfortunately 😉) sejour.

Staff were friendly & helpful, quickly sorting any problems.

The entrance is on the alley-sized Rue de Jussie with a small foyer leading to the Bar Rouge/Lounge and a small Front Desk serviced by a welcoming, friendly and always very helpful Reception staff.

Sometimes their contacts will be on the greeting cards in my room.

Outstanding staff, and convenient valet parking.

Very much appreciated the bottles of evian every day and housekeeping was good..also appreciated the valet parking whch was a great price at 29 euro per night (traffic and parking in lyon is a nightmare/expensive).

Parking was valet style and very efficient, all in all a very enjoyable stop.

From the valet parking, the bellboy baggage delivery to our room, the welcome drinks and the breakfast everything was at the same high standard.

You will love the valet parking service when you arrive after a long journey.

Greeted with a very warm and friendly welcome and valet parking at this hotel, situated in a great location for both the newer city centre, the river and the old town with it's wonderful Basilica, shops bars and restaurants.We found our room extremely comfortable and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this lovely city.

The valet parking is amazing and the cocktail bar and 1930 lift a treat!

Perfect compromis… they offer valet parking and afterwards using Uber is also easy.

Staff is smiling and helpful and there is also a valet parking service which is great.

but once we pulled up outside valet parking came straight out to help unload and move the car after a long drive.

Valet parking was working seamlessly as well.

Valet parking made process of arriving and departing very straightforward.

And it has a very convenient valet parking service which works out cheaper than neighbouring car parks.

The service was excellent; especially the receptionist who helped up with valet parking and suggestions for sightseeing in nearby Perouges.

Valet parking is convenient and good value.

From the moment that the valet parking service took the car away and we were shown to our room we had a great trip.

Actually, the whole (boutique) hotel, in all its places and corners is decorated with such a high quality and very sensitive taste.

This hotel is very close to shops, boutiques, restaurants and cafes.

I much prefer smaller "boutique" hotels vs. the larger "corporate" ones and this hotel did not disappoint.

The hotel is located centrally, feels like a boutique and the staff at the reception and the concierge are very friendly.

If you are going to bill yourself as a top boutique hotel, then you better be that.

This hotel was like a Boutique hotel with a nice decoration and big rooms with bigger beds.

One feels well taken care of here with an almost intimate boutique quality at this grand, stately hotel.

Le Royal is a small boutique hotel with great location and within walking distance from the main shopping area, antique shops and fine restaurants.

It's extremely well situated and it is what every boutique hotel should feel like.

An outstanding boutique hotel with 74 rooms, right in the center of Lyon, used as a staff training facility for the Institut Paul Bocuse.

The Royal is a superb boutique hotel managed by Accor situated in the heart of Lyon, just 10-15 minutes walk away from the old city and right across the square from the main shopping area.

Attentive staff, delicious breakfast - can even have eggs made to order and the hours breakfast available was very generous 6:30-11.

but the buffer is good and eggs made to order is on point.

- need a deep refurbishment

The breakfast was great and the location in Place Bellecour was perfect for sightseeing in any direction.

The breakfast buffet had everything one could ask for – made-to-order eggs, cheeses, cold cuts, pastries, fruits, etc.

The breakfast was to die for, so much choice and the eggs we had every morning where the best I’ve ever had.

When you stayed often in 5-star hotels in Asia, having breakfast in hotel Le Royal was like having breakfast in a guest house.

The breakfast buffet is excellent with a wide range of high quality options.

Opt to include breakfast as it is lovely and the breakfast room is really nice.

Breakfast is among the best hotel breakfasts as well and again, very attentive staff.

It is a hospitality teaching hotel, so the staff is young, plentiful, and attentive.

Great reception, beautiful rooms, wonderful decor throughout the hotel and absolutely outstanding breakfast team!

Stayed two nights in a superior room which was spacious, elegantly decorated with a huge, very comfortable bed.
