Would stay there again for anyone looking for a place in Venice close to the beach!

I would highly recommend a stay here if you love Venice and Santa Monica by foot.

The Roof-deck is to die for (great drinks and food) and they will loan you all sorts of Beach toys and bikes for free!!!

Stop looking at reviews for other hotels on Venice and just book Hotel Erwin today.

Staff were very accommodating, location is just steps to the beach, amazing views, 5 minute walk to Abbot Kinney.

The amenities are great at this hotel, free bikes, beach towels, and volleyball towels and a drink upon checking in.

Great staff, towels and toys for the beach, and the location can't be beat.

Amongst other great  bars , cafes and restaurants in Venice this is probably my favourite.

We walked the Venice boardwalk, walked all the way to Santa Monica, enjoyed an incredible dinner like a block over at a place called Ospi (seriously, go there).

The hotel is located so close to the beach it is fantastic.

All in all, an incredible place to stay when in Venice.

I was able to conduct meetings on the rooftop, which was, I heard, the best rooftop in Venice.

This hotel has a plethora of amenities: bikes, beach towels, coolers, basketballs, volleyballs, paddle tennis, toys, sunscreen, smashball and cornhole to enjoy on the beach which is just steps away.

- Staff is friendly and responsive
- Lots of parking in the area in Venice
- Right next to Venice beach.

We then borrowed some of the free bike rentals and cruised the beach up and down the bike path.

but a still a great view of the beach and action in the street below.

This hotel is hands down the best in Venice!

Nearby restaurants and dispensaries were appealing, and the rooftop lounge, aptly named "High," offered compelling views of the shore, the city and the gorgeous sunsets.

I was given a room on the 4th floor with a peek-a-boo view of the beach and the sunlight coming was very nice,

The room was clean and we had a great view of the beach which was a nice bonus!

First stayed at the Erwin years ago when it was a simple beachfront motel - it’s been transformed to a really welcoming boutique hotel with an awesome rooftop deck overlooking the beach and perfect for that sunset cocktail.

Our room was quiet, clean, with an amazing view of the beach!

We had the food up in the rooftop bar and it was very well done, and the views of the beach and sunset are spectacular.

The location is terrific- just feet from the Boardwalk with an outstanding unobstructed view of the beach and water. The rooftop lounge on the 4 th of July was a great party -  the view of the coast was wonderful

They put me in a nice room on the 6th floor with amazing views of Venice and the beach.

I had an ocean view room with a fantastic view of the beach.

Our son treated us to a Beach view at Venice BEACH CA, HOTEL ERWIN.

I had a room with partial ocean view quite high up so could enjoy a nice view out towards the beach and a bit of the Venice skyline. The staff deserves a special shout-out as they where great, especially after I submitted a short survey and they responded by telephone within just a few minutes (!)

The room had a beautiful balcony view of the beach.

The rooftop bar offers great beach views, popular music and original drinks.

I arrived super early in the morning and the hotel was kind enough to make available to me the first room to be cleaned (they were full the night before) and it happened to be the best room in the house - Room 514 (King with full beach view).

We enjoyed the view of the beach the best.

We had a decent view of the beach and the board walk and we were walking distance to EVERYTHING.

The issue with this is they use one of the two elevators.

From the moment I stepped into the “lobby”, it was inundated with drunk loud people squeezing into a tiny elevator to get to the rooftop bar.

There’s only one elevator which causes a backup in the lobby, I ended up using the stairs.

They aren't the ones who have to share the *single* small elevator with unmasked people.

The only negatives I can say would be the water pressure in the shower was terrible.Also in the evenings the elevator is backed up when the rooftop bar is open.

Only one elevator services this hotel, and a long, slow line awaits. you.

The one elevator gets jammed with people trying to access their rooms.

Hotel is currently under renovation - hopefully they thought about adding an elevator for only hotel guests.

It is THE slowest elevator I've ever been in.

Only other thing and especially on the weekend, the elevator situation is a bit of a disaster.

On the not so good side: 
- Showers could be improved (not enough pressure)
- Just one elevator for this hotel is a joke, if you're trying to get in or get out at 6pm, be ready to wait 20 min or use the stairs
- If you're staying in level 6, it gets a bit noisy from 8pm till midnight, and the noise comes from the bar they have in the rooftop

The foyer was crowded with people waiting for the elevator.

Minor negatives are only one elevator, so it can get a little jammed up due to the rooftop bar.

BAD 
    -the hotel was under construction, so when we got off the elevator, there was construction dust, cardboard on the ground, boxes and bags in the hallway for installing tvs and other things.

which is generating crowded elevators in the afternoon & evening.

On the negative side the elevator is very slow so when the bar is busy on the roof there can be a bit of a wait.

The music in the hall was not boring elevator music, 

The only downside that we encountered was that there is only 1 lift.

The hotel delivers on all fronts - great rooftop bar, big rooms (go for the Epic Sea View room on L6), perfect location and very friendly service.

Every time we walked in we were so welcomed, and the entire staff was so friendly.

however that the staff we spoke to were all friendly and helpful.

The hotel is instantly inviting with friendly doorman welcoming you in to the helpful receptionists who make checking in so hassle free.

I was greeted and checked in by Yoshwa ( I’m sorry if I spelled this wrong) He was so friendly, welcoming, and upgraded my room.

Staff are super friendly, the cleaning, reception, security staff.

Brianna and Yoshua were so friendly they made our trip they were so obliging to our every need.

Friendly accommodating staff:Shane,Miguel, and Brianna just to name a few.

They are all very friendly and accommodating, always looking for ways to help make your stay better.

He was so helpful, gave us great recommendations and just a down-to-earth friendly guy.

But these rooms were awful due to the noise pollution.

I mean, I could hear every sound from the couple next door.

At the rooftop, the DJ was so loud the hostess couldn't hear us.

Every night I was woken up by drunk people shouting down the corridor on my floor.

During the week, we had the "joy" of waking up every morning to excessive noise at 7am due to the garbage pick ups in the alley.

VERY loud IN the room making me need to leave and the pretty balcony is even worse - can’t go out there unless I want to hear all the words to the songs and the thumping in the room is giving me a headache so looking up places I can go read.

We didn't have any complimentary water in our room, the carpet felt yucky, like a college doorm room after a party and the noise outside from the vendors was pretty loud.

All the hallways smelled like smoke, the room was on par with an inexpensive motel room, and very noisy due to the rooftop bar and late night music outside.

Besides that, I had constant trouble getting the fan in my room to work because it wrongly thought that my balcony door was opened.

I just have a few picky complaints that apparently they hear quite a lot.

We were then woken by a piercing fire alarm at 2am - someone had set it off somehow and luckily no fire or evacuation

I was initially skeptical about staying in a beachfront property due to noise usually encountered,

At the restaurant Norma went the extra mile to try and accommodate my dietary needs after eating crappy plane food - she didn't give up until we found something I felt my body could cope with.

The hotel is currently under construction and the hotel itself is just loud.

but unfortunately ours came with construction noise, when we complained we was moved to another floor but there was no way to escape the racket.

although we could hear the bass from the DJ playing on the rooftop bar, we decided it wasn't too bad.

I think the only drawback was how loud it was both from the noise from a busy spot in Venice and the rooftop.

However, on Friday night we were kept awake by the noise of thier nightclub.

High at the Erwin Hotel is an Amazing roof top bar in Venice Beach.

The hotel has a roof top bar and one should definitely visit the same to have good drinks and enjoy an amazing view.

Great location and the rooftop bar is a great place to relax (though the cocktails weren’t to my taste - a little too strong.

Rooftop bar was nice with great food and ocean views.

The best coffee in LA and the rooftop bar is best view.

Really enjoyed the ambiance of the rooftop bar/restaurant.

The rooftop is very popular and has a reverse happy hour, people are constantly coming in just for the rooftop bar.

I have stayed at the Hotel Erwin before and really enjoyed my stay, from the hip comfort of the room design, to the amazing scented shower products, to the rooftop bar.

Hotel Erwin has been a fav for years just because of its rooftop bar, High.

Rooftop bar is also a perfect place to take in the sunset and have a few drinks.

Also loved the rooftop bar and Venice Pizza.

Hotel has a rooftop bar that has the best views and atmosphere.

We stopped by for drinks with friends for the rooftop bar and were treated professionally and welcomed by the staff, servers and hosts.

Watching a beautiful sunset from the rooftop bar was a bonus.

but the rooftop lounge and hang out was amazing!

My wife and I took sunrise walks along the beach each morning and watched the sundown from their cozy rooftop lounge each night.

The rooftop lounge is an amazing amenity as well!

We had a great time walking around Venice exploring, and while the rooftop lounge is overpriced, the view is great.

.and that Rooftop lounge with great service, drinks and menu choices with   the most beautiful view of the sunset from the Palisades all the way south to the Marina}.

Beautiful rooftop lounge and when it rained the lobby lounge covered all our bases.

Beautiful, modern rooms, comfortable bed, great restaurant, tons of additional amenities like free bikes to rent, day cards to the neighboring Gym, complimentary water bottles and of course the highlight Rooftop Lounge.

This rooftop lounge is casual, fun and an easy no-brainer way to entertain your guests for the first night they're in town.

This is the only hotel with a rooftop lounge that gives a perfect view overlooking the crowds right below, and the Pacific right in front.

I also noticed a nice flow of locals coming into the hotel for its rooftop lounge, something that deeply appeals to me for I love mingling with locals.

We had been to the roof top lounge once before and had a fabulous experience.

They have constantly been making improvements over the years, the rooftop lounge being one of the best.

The rooms are very spacious, and the hotel staff was very kind and helpful.

The rooms are so spacious and clean, you're two minutes walking to the beach (and 30 seconds walking from a dozen different fantastic food spots), and the staff were so accommodating and helpful.

From booking to checkout Joshua at the front desk was the BOMB!!!

The free drink upon check-in 'the Grinch' was also very tasty lol The rooftop had a great view and overall the experience was very vibey.

It was wonderful being so close to everything and having such a cool view.

The staff was friendly, the hotel was clean, and the feel of classic Hollwood was great.

He shared a lot of the history of the hotel, and even took us on some quick tours of the more interesting and historic features.

But we keep coming back to the Roosevelt for its history, the quality of service, and the glitz and the glamor that remain from a bygone era of the classic film stars.

Our family really enjoyed every part of this historic hotel; the decor was gorgeous and authentic and really gave that something different Hollywood vibe.

They have Cabaret & comedy shows here as well as show classic films.

The old timely music at the pool is so nostalgic and the drinks at the pool bar are delicious.

The live music in the lobby was great each night we enjoy our adult time sipping on classic martinis in such a beautiful lobby was the perfect way to finish off the day exploring.

He asked us where we were from, and since most of us were from out of town, Cody offered to give us a short private tour of some of the beautiful and historic parts of the hotel.

We were attending a concert at the Hollywood Bowl & decided to make a romantic weekend out of it. We chose Hotel Roosevelt because we love historic, charming buildings with great stories to tell, and it was near the venue (we walked back 20 min.)

Overall, it's a really cool, classic place.

All the modern comforts on the inside and all the historical splendor on the outside.

The historic Hollywood Roosevelt on Hollywood Boulevard is awesome.

Classic Hollywood beauty with an old timey classy vibe.

He gave our family an unforgettable historic tour of the hotel and was so kind with our son.

The Roosevelt is a classic hotel that continues to stay modern and well appointed.

When we made our way back to the lobby, this man gave me his card and said the next time I visit to stop by and find him and he will tell me some more history I don't know.

Last night, they charged me $60 because “I was there more than 5 hours.” 

I pointed out the mistake, and the valet workers said there was nothing they could do and “it’s a computer issue.” All the time, they were looking at each other and laughing, obviously ripping me off.

Tipping and service charges should not fall on the responsibility of the customer.

We had to show our card initially to come in from both entrances,

I had a little trouble getting things to charge in the room and it would have been nice to have a hair dryer in the room as well.

but at checkout the receptionist tried to charge us for 2 nights.

I've since used the website to book a room just to see if the charge is mentioned anywhere during the booking process - it isn't.

The room was nice, a bit dirty I found an old uno card under the rug.

We arrived late to the hotel felt reception was not welcoming and the hotel and the hotel put a $600 on the credit card, we were not told that we would have to pay city tax either until we checked out.

but minus the compensation they had paid therefore not compensating me at all, and there response is just to say we have released all funds.

Very odd that they would allow anyone to charge anything to a room without a signature.

Minor gripes are the expensive valet parking & needless extra charge for using the WiFi & pool.

Upon departing we were never asked how our stay we were just told a invoice would be sent to my e.mail address of our bill.

Disappointed I couldn[t charge my phone and watch on the nightstand.

There weren't too many hiccups in the beginning (besides me being double booked and charged twice,

There were no robes (although there were flip flops which if you used them, you'd be charged for them) and the TV could not maintain a steady signal.

Some billing issues on the way out the door in that they charged me for my room stay twice,

I asked for a reciept or some proof that i wouldn't be charged for vallet since i never used it (i used a parking garage down the street) and he said they dont do that so i am watching my credit card like a hawk to see if they will try to sneek the charges on.

even though my total nights stayed would only be two after this fiasco) those funds do not immediately show up in your account.

As I grabbed the ironing board and look down there is a room key and another card with a bunch of white powder substance.

He is always welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the hotel and its history.
