I would highlight recommended this hotel, I was very impressed with the room we got.

Our room was large big bathroom walk in shower, fridge, coffee maker.

The room was good and girl looking after it was very helpful when asking her things.

So we were quiet surprised when we got our rooms and they showed up to have no view in fact no day light.

Our stay was pleasant, the room was clean and the furniture was comfortable.

Room was super comfy, we didn’t use the pool or gym

You do have to request for the maid to clean the room every day - not an issue

The rooms are spacious, clean & the beds are super comfortable.

Our room on the ground floor had a lovely outlook and doors to the pool

We enjoyed our room of its size, cleanliness, and decor.

Great facilities in the room; microwave, fridge, proper sink etc.

There is a great size fridge in the room, so we were able to pick up what we needed at Trader Joes.

My family came with me and we were in rooms next to each other.

Excellent service in the hotel, with spotlessly clean rooms.

This is a great location and the room was great.

We loved the DIY breakfast where selection and service were great - breakfast room is a little small so you sometimes had to wait for a table at peak times

There are 2 breakfast rooms and the staff is friendly and goes out of their way to make your stay pleasant.

Cons: the place smells so strongly of some kind of chemical.

Carpets old and smelly, breakfast was limited and paper plates plastic knifes and forks.

Unfortunately the area was smelling of weed as some guests used the back area to smoke in.

however the new room smelt a little fusty, hotel reception sofa and rug is dirty, staff require more customer service training.

On the flip side, customer service was rather cold, and in spite of upgrades, this is an old building with a funky smell from the lobby to the rooms.

There is a horrible old carpet smell throughout building - distinct wet/old smell - in the room and halls - it badly needs replacing.

The tiles in the swimming pool were filthy you could wipe the dirt of with your hands, see attached photo.

Had a bug in my bed, pullout bed had a downward incline where your head was lower than your legs, breakfast lacked a variety of foods and lobby had a musty horrible smell.

Only things we had issues with were the HVAC system which seemed a bit dated, and a musty smell in the hotel room and throughout the halls.

The air conditioning/heating wall unit was absolutely filthy.

The cigarette smoke would permeate the halls.

-The BREAKFAST is yet another bait and switch - they offer disgusting moldy 25 cent pre packed muffins with NO COFFEE and call it breakfast.

butt germs all over the place and no one said a word.

One on of the tables by the couch, there was some gross residue that wasn't wiped down by housekeeping--though it was not visible until we saw it on the wiping cloth.

although it was dark and felt smaller than room 212, it smelt fine so we accepted it.

but only disappointment was that despite the hotel being non smoking, someone before us had flouted the rules!

The pool area is lovely , sadly some people ignore the no smoking policy,

So it is a rather dirty and smelly area(urine etc.

Breakfast among the worst in my entire life, just packed food on board plates.

we constantly had to ask for more plates cutlery and food they couldn't keep up with the demand.

The use of single use/disposable paper plates and cutlery seems wasteful.

No restaurant or bar, breakfast is served on paper plates with plastic cutlery in a cramped room that struggles to cope with the amount of guests staying, we had to clear our table when we had finshed and put the used plates, cutlery and waste food in an overflowing bin, see photo.

but you could take your tray up to 4th floor breakfast room where there was more seating up there ,the main breakfast room was floor 3 street level, we didn’t need to go to floor 4 as we always got a table.

Paying $300 a night should entitle us to more than disposable cutlery and plates.

but is served with paper plates and plastic cutlery.

however even my children commented on the use of plastic plates and cutlery as environmentally unfriendly!

but what is with the paper plates and plastic knives and forks.

The most unusual thing was the use of paper plates and plastic utensils for breakfast.

The only thing that could be improved would be the use of paper plates and cups for breakfast.

but they had paper plates and plastic cutlery which I found a bit strange but all in all was a good enjoyable stay

Very basic breakfast and disposable plates and cutlery.

however the food is very average and served on paper plates.

By this I mean - cups provided in room were of the disposable variety, and individually wrapped in plastic bags; all of the eating utensils, plates, and cups at breakfast were disposable as well.

One thing i did not like was having to use paper plates, plastic knife, folk, spoon, and paper cups.

Do not expect to use the kitchen since it is empty (no cups, no plates, nothing.

Would not stay again because breakfast food tasteless and paper plates even if free.

The rooms are very large in size and the view from balcony was of all Los Angeles.

On the positive side, the staff is very friendly and welcoming, the room service breakfast was great, and the room overall was comfortable.

Perfect base for a week working in Hollywood - very comfortable large rooms withn great bathrooms, great location, good food / room service and generally solid vibe.

The room was incredibly spacious and clean with a great view.

For me, it's truly a home away from home, with the friendly staff, the spacious rooms, the marvelous pool area and the great dining and bar experience.

Our room was spacious and the bathroom was especially luxurious - the biggest tub I've ever seen!

The rooms are gorgeous and comfortable, the balconies are entertaining for views and people watching (the balcony I had this year was directly over the street), and the pool is amazing!

The rooms are amazing, the staff are extremely friendly and outgoing, all accommodations were above and beyond.

I love the location, spacious room and service.

I coordinated for a few rooms and pool party for 35ppl.

And once, when the shower was not in use, water backed up through the drain (from another shower somewhere else in the hotel, apparently) and covered the shower floor. Disgusting!

Everything would have been perfect if someone didn’t smoke pot and cigarettes on my floor or near my floor late at night on both nights.

The room smelled of an old, very old, musty motel.

2nd room - there were people smoking an insane amount of weed - so much so that it was really intense outside our door.

Too bad some guests ruin it by breaking the no smoking rule (as the smoke travels up into other peoples balconies and rooms).

So, from our point of view, this hotel should be enforcing its own rules towards their customers… the smell is present also in the hallways, so everybody knows.

Also while Our room smelled fine some nights our hallway smelled like Snoop Dog and Willy Nelson were holding a conference on our floor, serious contact buzz!

The rooms could use a deep cleaning (the bathrooms were dusty and the grout was disgusting).

The tap water was icky and I didn't see any water service in the lobby.

The sheets had stains (nasty ones), the room fridge hadn’t been cleaned for ages (it had milk and other residual food in it), the shower made a mess in the bathroom, etc.

The the hotel smelled like burning dinosaurs.

Huge unsightly gap that I am quite sure there is all sorts of hair, debris and whatever else is left behind from the previous user. When I asked for the manager by the young man at the front desk, his response? "

Slight mold smell as we entered the room .

Hotel smells of weed and is full of dodgy old men with their 18 year old rent boys.

The only problem I had was my room smelled of smoke

We went a la carte instead and had terrible service and an eggs florentine that was undercooked and pretty disgusting.

We also came back to our room later in the day on several occasions to find multiple cigarette

They need to speed up issue resolutions as I found extra charges in my room bill which delay the check-out process.

We also had an electric car in valet that was always charged.

Booked with Amex FHR and did NOT receive a room upgrade.

It's disappointing the hotel did not honor their partnership with Amex.

but is a credit of $30 in reality, which is impossible to match (the whole menu is hight than that after taxes and tips).

but charging $750 for two massages are insane.

No charge late check out when they can do it.

(Gregory saved my credit card from being lost forever when it fell by the pool!)

but since this was last minute, we chose to burn some AMEX points and splurge a little.

I booked the hotel through the American Express Platinum card, meaning that we were entitled to a few perks.

My girlfriend was traveling alone and needed to use my credit card.

but the Viceroy L’Ermitage was offering a discounted room through Amex so I decided to try it out.

The hotel could also do with a coin laundry as not everyone thinks a 12 USD laundry  charge for a shirt makes sense . .

I just don't like it when you get a call from the front desk at 12:25PM asking "if I need assistance with checkout" when I had already told the front desk upon check in that I would be utilizing the 4PM late check out that goes along with the AMEX fine hotels program.

The folio charged OJ twice and also did not deduct 100 dollar promised for some sort of engineering problem they had in our room.

I booked through Luxury Hotel and Resort Collection which is a benefit of the Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card.

One criticism I have is the ridiculous charge of $50 a night for parking- crazy!

after calling to confirm of my accomodations with the hotel, they tried switching it last minute and forcing me to buy another room. And one of the concierge women Ashley tried to charge me for valet service every day (regardless of the fact that i didn't bring a car)

I then discovered a charge on my credit card which I was not expecting.

Incredible hotel only downside is still awaiting a credit back to my account for an overcharge the front desk messed up on.

Rooms are especially spacious and floor plan gives room for comfort at or play for couples.

The room was beautiful, a little more lighting for my taste will be better.

Great hotel, location was good for Rodeo Drive, rooms were spacious, bathroom was huge with great lighting, bed and pillows were comfy.

We were very impressed with everything at the hotel, the rooms are extremely comfortable, very modern and elegant.

Besides the decor, spacious rooms, the gorgeous location, the vibe of this hotel is what I found the most endearing.

but the little details and the luxury rooms are unmatched.

Our room was spacious, quiet and housekeeping immaculate.

When we got to the room, it felt nice until we saw black flies everywhere.

Rooms are large and spacious and the attention to detail makes you feel truly special.

The rooms are very spacious and so beautifully layed out.

Nothing to complain about, the service was excellent and they even delivered Doordash straight to the room.

but at the end of the day it's  mostly about the room - the comforts, the bed, the bathroom, the lighting, and everything else one seeks in a luxury room.

The house keepers do an amazing job at cleaning the rooms.

Doors fly open, dining requests are satisfied effortlessly, the grounds and rooms are gorgeous and spotless, the bed is like sleeping on a delicious cloud, everyone greets you with a smile and genuine warmth that you rarely see in the hospitality world today.

The room was large and especially  the bath room.

Cafe / restaurant in lobby has excellent service and high quality food and while expensive vs non hotel restaurants is probably about average price for hotel restaurants.

but food and beverage was a little pricey.

If there was anything negative I could find it would be that one of the 2 rooms we have booked is super dark with no natural light so avoid that end of hotel down the side of building plus the other negative is $60 parking fee

We also stayed at another hotel a  kilometre away and our stay there was terrible - so in future we will book the Chamberlain as it is a quality hotel for a reasonable price.

The next day, the hotel manager called us to apologize for the problem and offered to move us to a significantly larger room (with a full living room and a separate bedroom) at the same price as our current room!

It was their opportunity to wave the fee, they didn't take it.

The prices were Insane and you know it is because of the credits

but all of the hotels have expensive parking so you really need to figure that into your costs.

Be mindful these prices include no room service unless you request it!

To detract from that, a nightly resort fee is charged which seems exorbitant given the size of the hotel and limited inclusions.

Upon arrival, we learned that the $48.00 per night  fee means you park your own car into the garage and drive it out yourself.

I wouldn't stay here again if the the room was free and I was paid!

but this one definitely didn't rate as a memorable experience.

You can either pay the bill separately or ask to charge to your room.

however this stay, I had a few hiccups with my room.

Fabulous  rooms long stay or   for families.

The room was advertised with a ‘balcony’ which was a tall stretch on what was actually a basement yard with no direct sunlight and no patio furniture making the space entirely unusable.

Excellent rooms , very spacious and clean , Ramesh on reception was excellent, very helpful and courteous and professional.

The two rooms we had for our family were a good size and very comfortable.

The room was beautiful (and I’m sure we just had what was left at midnight) Breakfast was great.

but with a nice relaxed and soft feel and they are very big rooms.

Walking into the room we were so satisfied how clean it was.

Large rooms; safe location; great service by staff; family friendly would highly recommend anyone staying in Los Angeles to stay at the Chamberlain we loved our stay.

The rooms were clean, spacious, comfortable and ideal for short or long stays.

Housekeeping always kept our room and the building in great shape.

Room was great, amenities, location. A++.

The room was too and included a comfy king bed, huge tv and a fireplace.

And the carpets need cleaning because there was this old smell throughout.

One of the two lifts was out of order the entire stay, the fly wire screen on the balcony door was constantly jammed and eventually came off the rails and the bathroom had a musty/sewerage smell at times.

Soiled linen was left in the bathroom, the floors were not clean, and the light switches had visable grime on them. Disgusting.

The only criticism we had was while in the non smoking pool area with our 17 year old daughter, a girl smoking a joint was ignored by a staff member who came to deliver food to another hotel customer.

If you’re into smoking whatever you want, poor phone reception and a tone deaf staff, you’ve found the right hotel.

Somehow the hotel didn't match up to all the reviews - some areas smelled heavily of smoke and felt a bit run down.

but what makes this hotel not a place to recommend is that the room had a weird smell, the bathroom wasn’t clean 2 out of 4 times.

The hotel did not look like a hotel or smell like a hotel.

The only downside is that the parking is filthy expensive.

In addition, the stainless steel stand that supports the sink and counter in the bathroom is very badly rusted and the aluminum window frames are corroded and the window sills full of dirt and debris, indicating that management has not been investing in keeping the property in the condition you would expect for a hotel in this price range.

The 4th floor had an unattractive Oder right away off of the elevator and the room smelled worse.

The room had a smell - like an old musty smell in which I had to turn the super loud aircon on and open the balcony door.

It's as if they're ignoring the little scrapes and scuffs, smells and issues.

As mentioned in other reviews there is a strong smell on floors two and three.

Going up to the room we found out that the hotel has a very strong bad smell in the hotel

Rusty railings, worn paint, filthy sunbed curtains.

They moved me to another room which smelled like cigarette smoke.

A lot of negative reviews on here mention a smell - we couldn't smell anything.

Car parking is expensive, asked for my EV to be charged overnight and it didn’t happen (at $65 plus tip), so had to waste time to charge the following day.

Pool was a tad chilly during our October stay and parking is pricey

The blinds were torn and broken, the tap was leaking and the free coffee that was supposed to be in the lobby every morning was never out when we went downstairs and we went out ranging from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Also the restaurant is way over price, as this is not a five star hotel.

Also, our washroom door was covered in dust or mold which I wouldn’t have expected for the price paid (see picture attached) Worst of all, the shower was missing a door!

Food and beverage prices are a bit pricey

Wish the Destination fee that they charged was explained at time of check-in since using it at their bodega like area had to be used daily or you would lose it.

Hotel in general looked shabby in places and only a few seats around the pool with 4 empty expensive cabanas ?

Only drawback was it is quite expensive with $60 for valet parking ($55 self-parking), $270 for room and then lots of fees.

My one complaint isn't just the cost of parking,

Bit strange to me that you can only have one juice and hot drink with breakfast when paying what I would class as premium price for the stay

But not worth the over priced rates even with the crappy discount that SWV gave.

but pricey for what you get in terms of room quality.

Watch out for the surprise resort fee ($30 a day).

It is more like a discount motel with a grand Hyatt price. Shame.
